TPTB_need_war has donated the domain ion.cash to the AEON project. While that domain is not identical to our name, it is similar and the domain could be used for some sort of affiliated or independent project that supports AEON, or just redirected.
However, the issue we have had is that transferring the domain to his registrar to ours has not been working for some reason. I'd like to not spend any more time on this so I'm looking for a volunteer to manage the process of getting the domain transferred. PM me if you are willing to do this.
Does this mean TPTB will be working on Aeon now? No That domain name is awesome though.... Hey Smooth, have you already nailed down the fractional breakout names, like Smoothoshi or whatever? Maybe an ion could be a fraction of an aeon? Or maybe branding wise that would be too much of a reach... It all sounds atomic-like almost. aeons, ions, voltrons, etc... I think I'm lost now.

Since an aeon is a very long unit of time, if you stick to this branding, perhaps use a "planck" as the smallest unit? see: http://www.universetoday.com/79418/planck-time/

I asked coinmarketcap.com to add aeon reddit feed, and they did. http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/aeon/#socialMaybe its just me, but considering my reddit account filter posts with less than 100 upvotes, aeon feed always looks empty. It is much easier to check new reddit posts on social tab of coinmarketcap. Especially since they agregate aeon twitter account too. Maybe it will be usefull for someone else, not just me.

There has been some discussion on Aeon subunit names over on the Speculation topic but nothing is decided. As always, this won't be 'decided' until there is actually a need and the community at that time comes to a consensus on it. There are two possibilities due to the fact that each Aeon has 1 trillion possible sub-units. 1 AEON = 1 million sub-unit (A) 1 sub-unit (a) = 1 million sub-unit (B) This would follow the 'bit' philosophy, except we can break down our 'bits' into additional millionths. However I like the far more tempting (and useful) metric of breaking it down into ten thousandths. 1 AEON = 10,000 sub-unit (A) 1 sub-unit (A) = 10,000 sub-unit (B) 1 sub-unit (B) = 10,000 sub-unit (C) Whether these sub-units are called ions, or plancks, or quarks, or credits, or anything else is left to the reader's imagination.

Thanks for the pointer Andretti83. I wasn't aware of the social network feed feature on coinmarketcap.

Also of possible interest, the debate over the Aeon logo 'rages' on over on the speculation topic ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1197508.msg12983825#msg12983825); I know we've gone around and around about this, but I'm really starting to dig the following (unsymmetrical) design. It caught my eye the very first time I saw it and frustrated me in a certain way - though also it had a certain captivating charm to it. Now after seeing it for a couple of weeks it has a certain futuristic charm to it, and many casual friends I've shown it to seem to prefer it as well. Just something to consider.

IMHO time and money goes well together. anyone remember "time is money"? it may even fit better than "energy is money" because for people usually time is more important. Gnosticism: i dislike the linkage to any kind of god or religion deity: has some kind of time reference but still seems to be linked to religion (and the spelling is wrong)

Is it a given that the name will definitely be Aeon? Because, if memory does not fail, smooth said there *could* be a rename/rebrand later on.

No it isn't necessarily "set in stone" but no rename is planned right now.

Yes, someone suggested Litenote, as a homologue of Litecoin. just my opinion, but I dont like "litenote". name it that and its just another coin trying to ride the coat tails of litecoin. I got interested in AEON because i felt Smooth and AP want to take this coin down a new path and build something special.

Literally the future money of Elysium. You don't think the 1% will use dirty 'ol Monero do you? Just kidding, but seriously - a me too Litecoin approach is no good. A currency needs an independent technical and social reason to exist and "me too" is not a valid social reason. This is why I say Aeon is a crypto luxury object. We aren't worried about scalping 20% or pumps or mass merchant adoption. We are worried about owning something truly exclusive - a slice of future Cryptonote development and the honest-to-goodness most advanced money on the planet.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EonSo an eon is a period of time. Does the "a or an" vowel rule apply to proper nouns? Somehow I think that a-eon or a_eon could be a pretty cool crypto name and reference some neat science stuff with a minimal branding overhaul ...but all of this is irrelevant. Code is what matters. In conclusion, banana and Volkswagens.

Didn't the original Developer use AEON as an acronym ? I think the "E" stood for "electronic"but I can't recall what the others stood for
