The network importance does not only depend on your stake but also on some other factors. Since the algorithm has not been revealed yet it is difficult to say what factors. But devs gave some clues. Try to do some transactions and your importance should increase. When I had about 1.7 million XEM my network-importance was 0.23 ‰ yesterday. Now I have 4.1 million XEM and the network-importance is 0.20 ‰. Why?
An important part of POI is vested balance along with other features of spend. Vested balance comes in at 10% per day of remaining invested balance. So today 1.7 then tomorrow 1.9 then next day 2.1 and after thirty days just about 99% will be vested.

Hey guys
I am doing some brain storming and need the power of the community.
XEM cryptocurrency is the best "currency" in so much as far as the actual software supporting XEM is the best. But lots of other things about NEM are falling far short.
I want to know what do we "need" to be successfull? What does XEM need? What does NEM community need? And what does NEM software need?
I'll start.
XEM needs: 1) lots of places accepting it 2) more exchanges 3) better fiat <-> XEM options 4)....
NEM community needs: 1) good communication 2) more structure and organization 3) better websites 4) more ways to recruit new people 5) support for community 6)...
NEM software needs: 1) A better GUI 2) more features 3) more powerful partners in industry taking it up 4) better product support 5)...
Nothing of that at all. 2 simple words: USE CASES !!!!!!! Yes, uses cases are very important and working on them is basically the step after this. If people start off with use cases instead of needs, they often miss something very important.

Whats a good node to use for delegated harvesting?
generally, I think for me, I would look for a node that has blocks up to date and had been online for a long time. A lot of these nodes have been going for 20 days, which means they probably only go offline for updates (remember if it goes offline to reboot or update, you have to tell it to harvest again). So for me it is important to pick a node that I know will continue to harvest for me day in and day out. http://nembex.nem.ninja/#nodeswhich one of those nodes specifically is good, I'm not sure. I run my own and its full now with my accounts.

As an investor, it is really annoying to see people discussing nonsense topics here. Why don't you focus on NEM's development instead of feeding FUDsters and NEM haters. I would like to read more stuff that matters.
The real Nem community is on Telegram. I'd like to invite you to join them. What is the Telegram?Link? Create an account at https://telegram.org/ if you haven't done this already and PM me your username so that I can ad you. Registered, and sent PM. Does telegram actually require phone # to register Yes. Privacy my ass. That's the reason I haven't joined. Ah, I just remembered there is a web version too. https://web.telegram.org/#/loginIt would suck but a totally anon way to set it up is use a VPN with a US IP and set up a gmail account, then a google voice account, at which point I think you get a free phone number that you can use to register. Or..... at least I think that is how it works. No promises. still need a phone number so sign-up (which is so totally retarded) And also you'll need that phone-number again when you login which is why this one-time phone number thing doesn't work very well with the web-version.

If people start off with use cases instead of needs, they often miss something very important. Most people who go out shopping, they don't do it because of a NEED but because they WANT it (basic marketing). For crypto's in general you could play on people's PAIN/FEAR for governments and banks who try to control people by robbing citizens of their hard earned cash (through tax, interest, bailout etc). There are plenty of people out there who have no clue about crypto's (high school, college and uni students are a good target for us). We need people who would be in for the long run not for some quick cash. The question is why would someone wants NEM instead of any other crypto out there. Bitcoin for example is the most implemented and respected crypto. It is really how you present Nem in the MEDIA/NEWS (incl online sites such as Yahoo news) - That's how you target large amount of people and build a BRAND. You can have the most advanced crypto ever but if no one sees it and respects it than you have nothing. Just my 2 cents

If people start off with use cases instead of needs, they often miss something very important. I think the most important tasks should be first. The right way is, define a strategy, define use-cases, paint a big picture and then work towards. And after that all your points could be worked on step by step.

We should offer free nem to bring in new people. It ain't much but offering a small amount of nem for someone to try the client would probably help grow the user base. I am changing my signature to this. Every little bit counts. Nice! I agree with you and want to join in your giveaway. How about my proposal? I will add 611 XEM per one First time NEM user. Then, 500 + 611 = 1,111 XEM. It's a fantastic ace poker no. If you are O.K. please pm me with your NEM address. I will send first 100 x 611 = 61,100 XEM in advance. If they are all distributed, I will send again.... until you finish this giveaway. (Sorry for my lazyness. I will do nothing except sending xem to you. Instead, you will be more busy. ) 1,111 Xem is a pretty number, we'll do that. If I understand correctly giveaway threads are not allowed on bitcointalk so this will only be spread through regular posts/signatures. We need some high post count supporters to get this shared. Maybe we can advertise the giveaway on exchange site troll boxes as well. I'll send you my address here in a bit for the giveaway.

I recommend to create your own node. It's really simple. A step by step tutorial: ################################## # Create your own Amazon EC2 VPS # ##################################
