you dont need a rocket to see a down movement, based on Newton laws you only need a apple
+1
based on newtonlaw there is always a reaction to an action , if the floor hits the apple, the apple also hits the floor ;-)

Four days.

Equities following a move in gold after a brief, yet obvious, decoupling? That couldn't have anything to do with the QE schizophrenia (backed by a hint of HFT dementia), could it? Maybe another paper gold assault to close the week, or early next week before the next CoT cut-off again (making the commercial open interest look like little has changed)?

What I'm waiting for is the dollar rally that has so far failed to materialise (and probably won't). It should've gone to around 81-82 with the drop in equity markets. Certainly the long bond would've risen, yet it dropped as well. Meanwhile the precious metals are up rather sharply. Even with its continued histrionics, the Euro is up. All this because of talk about QE? Where there's smoke, there's fire.

+1. Nice call.

Oh shit.
Then I obviously missed your announcement about when the previous down leg was ending.
I knew I should have bought that subscription. Smiley

Have you just given me a link to your post from 190 days ago?
Statistically speaking, even a person that is so much wrong can be right from time to time - it's only a matter of how often he tries to be right. Smiley
And having read through this topic I can tell already that you are a kind of person that tries very often; more often than once a week.

indeed i did.  i was not short the metals or the miners btwn then and late February as pm's usually follow a stock rally as i called down at 10/6/11 as well.  that should be pretty obvious to anyone who trades stocks and who understands how the USD plays into all this.

i only reinstituted my shorts in late February as i think we've entered the next major leg down.

btw, my calls last for months at a time so it should be very obvious if i'm wrong.  i don't flip flop.

Oh, ok.
I though when you said "next down leg" then the previous leg was somewhere within the time span of this "Gold collapsing" topic.
But now I understand that the "next one" is still the same one that we have been going through since you started the topic...
Now it all makes sense Tongue
Though, don't you feel a bit like Sisyphus announcing the same leg over and over again, every time gold goes down a few bucks?

actually you're probably right.  i knew at the beginning of the thread that this topic might bring out the haters so i will stop calling every sub cycle within the larger cycle downleg that i see.  the point is that it is moving in my direction.  i'm happy with that.

Please don't be upset. It's not a hate that I feel - not at all.
Being mean to you wasn't my objective - pointing out your mistakes was.
I believe giving a bit of a negative reinforcement isn't a bad thing to do.

But you know what they say: he who laughs last, laughs best.
You might as well be laughing at me tomorrow - we don't know.
No need to get offended.

As much as I've seen gold bugs generally having some unique personalities, I've found that gold haters -- or I should say gold shorts because they'll never admit they hate gold, they always proclaim themselves as ex-gold bugs, having just made a fortune -- have even more unique characters. I can smell the scent miles away.

Not saying it's a good or bad thing, just a general observation.  Grin
