Indonesia is a Muslim country, and they don't take the murder of a non-Muslim by one of their own citizens seriously. In fact, Indonesia is the largest Muslim nation in the world, when population is taken into account (although Pakistan is close behind). No wonder that the ISIS is making major plans to recruit Jihadis from Indonesia.

I don't really think Islam teaches us to hate people. same with Christians I think Islam is a bit misunderstood. I mean both religion are pretty much revolving on the same foundation which basically tells us to love and have respect for our fellow humans regardless of culture and religion. but then that's just my opinion

This all depends on how you define Islam. If you define Islam as a bunch of common, everyday people, who simply say that they are Muslim, and maybe know a little about their religion/government, then you are probably right. But if you define Islam as the religious writings of the Koran and the Hadiths, then you are right regarding the Muslim community, and wrong regarding other religions and governments.

Islam never hate people, Islam protect all believers in the moslems majority. Do Arab Saudi burn churches? No, Do Indonesian Government burn Churches? I live in Indonesia. I am a moslem. I don't hate non moslem, we live peacefully in moslem majority.

In area where moslems are about 50 % of the community, conflict often happen. Why? Non moslems hate us. They threaten us because we say Allah is The Only God. in my region 90 % moslems. Non moslem live peacefully, their properties are protected. Who protectet them? We are moslems.

I believe that Islam is a religion which wish and do good to all beings just like every other religions. The notorious name of islam has been bought up and magnified by the power of the media. Many had been misusing the name of religion to do bad. I do believe that what actually make someone his or her personality is their attitude and maturity. Muslim propagandists are nowadays making extraordinary efforts to change the image of Islam by reintroducing it to the Western society as a religion that calls for peace and rejects violence. One of the new theories that they are trying to sell is that the name of their religion Islam implies the meaning of ‘Peace’, which in Arabic is Salam. The grounds for their theory is that both words are derived from the same root in the Arabic language!

While it may be possible to deceive those who do not speak Arabic or those who do not know much about Islam, propaganda like this does not fool someone who knows the Arabic language and the teaching of Islam, a religion that was established by violence and still believes in violence as a principal and as a way of life. The relationships between Muslims themselves and between them and all other nations have always been based on terror and still is. Islam and Salam are two incongruous words that share no common ground either in name or in substance.

In order to find the meaning of a certain word in the Arabic dictionary, it is essential to search for the three letter infinitive verb which is called the root. Many words can be derived from the same root, but they don't necessarily have to have any similarity in their meaning. The word Islam, which means ‘submission’, is derived from the infinitive Salama. So is the word Salam which means ‘peace’ and so is the verb Salima which means ‘to be saved or to escape from danger’. One of the derivations of the infinitive Salama means ‘the stinging of a snake’ or ‘The tanning of the leather’. Hence, if the word Islam has something to do with the word Salam i.e. ‘Peace’, does that also mean that it must be related to the ‘stinging of the snake’ or ‘tanning the leather’?

In my opinion, I guess some Islam countries do hate people with specific beliefs about them and those who are discriminating them. Those who judge them as a terrorist while not all of them are. Even if their religion is Islam, most of them are against war and war is not the way to solve the problems. I guess they hate some other people from the way other people hate some of them. Praying also that one day there will be a world peace not in this world but everyone's heart.

Sorry, but only prays won't bring peace to the world. When good people retreat and let the evil do what they want, the world become worse and worse. That is what we are seeing. If Islam doesn't want to be criminalized, they should ban the terrorists and extremists from their religion, showing their faces to the authorities.

The problem is that the religion defend the terrorists and hide them. Although, when the terrorists attack and die, the religion comes saying they don't like war, they are a peace religion... But if they are a peace religion, why don't they turn to the police the terrorists and extremists?
