1021  Economy / Reputation / Re: What if Theymos would Reset Reputation now? on: January 01, 2020, 04:43:39 PM
If we are talking anout the PROS outweighing the CONS the reset will definitely be a big L for the forum. Yeah sure all of this controversial and retaliatory negative feedbacks would be erased but what about justified negative feedbacks to members from scams, unpaid loans, account farmers, merit sellers, tampered KYCs, and fake projects? What about them? Do you like for them to have a clean slate in the forum and try to scam or take advantage of other members here in the forum?

I'd be happy if the merits were reset as most of my early ones were to get used to the system.

I'm not worried about this especially if you don't give the airdropped sMerits back for merit sellers to start selling again. By doing so you'll just be giving them twice the sMerits to sell and I really don't like the idea that they will have another profit run from the merit system.
1022  Economy / Economics / Re: Halving is approacing: HOLD YOUR BITCOINS AND NEVER SELL THEM on: January 01, 2020, 03:36:56 PM
Even if historically speaking Bitcoin goes up every time halving happens

The thing is, halvings haven't had any immediate effects on prices. We associate halvings with growth because of charts like OP's, but that doesn't necessarily have to be the case -- growth could have come without the halvings, and we wouldn't really know.

I agree that HODLing is the best course of action if you want to gain in this scenario, but only because it's the best course of action is most scenarios. People looking forward to the halving are very likely to be disappointed, and disappointed market actors often lead to a falling market.

That's why I said that you still need to practice precaution when the date of halving comes because it is never too wrong to still observe the market even if we all know historicaly speaking Bitcoin goes up during halving. Yeah hodling is the right approach when observing the market but not all has that privilege especially the ones who have bought Bitcoin without any margin of safety as you cannot really risk your money during events like this, I wouldn't even recommend buying Bitcoin just because we are nearing halving since you wouldn't have any kind of protection on your capital.
1023  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there any anonymous Crypto re-loadable prepaid card ? on: December 31, 2019, 11:09:31 PM
The VISA/Mastercard logo alone for any kind of credit/debit or even prepaid card will be a hint that these cards will need some kind of KYC since both companies are very compliant when it comes to both KYC and AML requirements that even prepaid debit cards are still not allowed for anonymity. So if I were you you should drop that anonymity requirement behind your back since you wouldn't really find any reputable service having that kind of privilege lying around if you do all you will see are just scam services waiting for any potential victims that are looking for that "to good to be true" kind of offer.
1024  Economy / Economics / Re: Halving is approacing: HOLD YOUR BITCOINS AND NEVER SELL THEM on: December 31, 2019, 09:43:08 PM
Even if historically speaking Bitcoin goes up every time halving happens with Bitcoin it's not wrong to still practice due diligence when it comes to your holding since there is really no guarantee that the next halving will produce the same result it had for the previous years. The crypto market isn't really a buy and forget type of market where you just don't look at your portfolio constantly since sudden movements in the opposite direction can always happen. Aside from that it is really wrong to base your decisions based on historical price movements since this is really an inaccurate way of basing your trade.
1025  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Facebook Messages roaming around this Christmas and new year Beware on: December 31, 2019, 08:46:05 PM
1026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 31, 2019, 07:42:59 PM
What the hell happened to AC Milan? They were an amazing team & massive club, they were really good as recently as the mid 00’s.

Berlusconi sold the team than the disaster has began for them.

This wasn't really the whole story. Berlusconi sold a lot of key pieces Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva, El Shaarawy, and Pato and keeping pretty much of the transfer money and replace them with some mediocre replacements like Fernando Torres and Pazzini which is really a disgusting move to see for any Milan fan. Basically Berlusconi took a lot of money from the team as much as he can and devaluing it before he sell it to a financially less capable owner. Berlusconi was an ok owner for the club but he lost his way over the years of controversy surrounding him.
1027  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is Bitcoin finally legal in US? on: December 31, 2019, 03:38:15 PM
Bitcoin's legality when it comes to it being a payment was never an issue in the United States, some states like Ohio even accepts Bitcoin as payments for their taxes. From what I see the most pressing issue they have so far are taxes itself involving crypto earnings where the IRS is seriously enforcing now as like what any governments will do they are trying to maximize the earnings they have on anything and that is including their crypto industry. So really if you are paying your taxes cirrectly and following all the rules and regulation in your state I wouldn't see you having problems in sending and receiving Bitcoin.
1028  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 31, 2019, 12:10:00 PM
Looks like AC Milan did their first real move with them coming up with the deal with one of Barcelona's youngster, Jean-Clair Todibo, where they have a paid loan with an option to buy him. The buyback clause that Barcelona was trying to add was then later removed by the team on their latest agreement. Looks like I am seeing a pattern now on how AC Milan wants to sign players. Where most transactions will be about loans with an option to buy. Elliot Management being tight with money it seems to be reasonable for them to try out players first if they fit the team before buying them on a price, like what they did with Kessie.
1029  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Outperforms Every Asset this Decade, Will 2020s Tell the Same Story? on: December 31, 2019, 10:37:53 AM
< snip .. >

In addition, the market is still fairly young, ten years of age so we can't really compare them to let say gold or stock market because they have been in existence for many years.

Everyone has its intention here, so obviously this kind of article is another click-bait and to really fit someone's narrative, they have to come up with every reasoning in the book. So for me they can't really be compare, each market is very different, each has it's set of investors and shills.  Wink

The stock market is completely different compared to the crypto market period. We don't need to add the age of the crypto market since it is completely irrelevant, there will be no connection that once it add in a few decades of its existence it doesn't mean it will change a thing on the way it moves or the way it will perform. Still it will depend on external factors such as laws and regulation as well as demand it will in the future. Oh and another thing is some investors in the stock market are also trading/hodling crypto assets just like me and it really depends on the person you are asking on what their views are on both markets.
1030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Outperforms Every Asset this Decade, Will 2020s Tell the Same Story? on: December 30, 2019, 02:18:43 PM
Why are they still comparing apples and oranges until now? Don't you think it is an unfair comparison for the both of  them being compared to pros and cons at the same time being in an entirely different market? Yeah sure Bitcoin has outperformed any kind of stock in the market we have no matter what country it is but if we talk about volaility alone and the traders' money they turned to dust I think the crypto market in general is leading the way and that is something we need to consider if bring this type of discussion all the time.
1031  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-12-26] Binance Blockade of Wasabi Wallet Could Point to a Crypto Crack-Up on: December 30, 2019, 12:25:05 PM
Well the problem I see here is how mixing services will deal this tainted coins from their services. Will they block entry for it, or how will they even know they are tainted in the first place? Or will they just notify the authorities that they have received tainted coins and freeze those crypto so that the recovery for them would be easier?

you're thinking like a regulator. that's how FINCEN expects mixers to act. fat chance!

mixers will do what they've always done---swap your coin's taint for another. that's why they exist. nobody will use a mixer that employs an AML process. thus, exchanges are increasingly avoiding doing business with customers who transact with mixers, due to the potential money laundering implications.

so what we need are mixing algorithms sophisticated enough to slip by exchange blockchain analysis unnoticed---the best of both worlds. that's where wasabi wallet is failing.

At these days where regulators are pressing down hard on us I would say that thinking as a regulator is the most realistic approach when it comes to determining what the future will hold when it comes to rules and regulations. Yeah there might be some clear win-win solutions out there but really would you expect regulators to be that forward-thinking where they would favor this solution instead of making a AML-compliance for these types of services?
1032  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: NEVER EVER deal Bitcoins with PAYPAL (F&F too!) on: December 29, 2019, 10:23:17 PM
@OP did you sold your Bitcoin to one of the members here? If so then maybe you can put up a scam accusation thread against him although there is no guarantee it is better to put in a little hope to recover your Bitcoin. In Paypal transactions where you are the one sending crypto I wouldn't even recommend the use of escrow since chargebacks can be filed 120 days or more after that transaction so there is really no guarantee that you will still have that payment in your balance not unless you cash it out.
1033  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-12-26] Binance Blockade of Wasabi Wallet Could Point to a Crypto Crack-Up on: December 29, 2019, 09:24:03 PM
For sure we will see more companies following the path but it's a waste of time and resources. (it's not only about Wasabi/Coinjoin btw, but it's also the whole problem with tainted coin)

the issue isn't about taint itself. it's about using mixing services, whether centralized or decentralized. from an exchange's point of view, customers who use mixers are risky from an AML/regulatory point of view.

wasabi wallet is super blatant with its coinjoins due to the high anonymity set. we need mixing solutions that not only deal with taint but also obfuscate the mixing activity itself.

Well the problem I see here is how mixing services will deal this tainted coins from their services. Will they block entry for it, or how will they even know they are tainted in the first place? Or will they just notify the authorities that they have received tainted coins and freeze those crypto so that the recovery for them would be easier? Nevertheless these types of action and process cannot be solely done by the mixer itself, I would expect representatives from the authorities carefully monitoring all their movements.
1034  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Project Funding/donation for a money transfer idea powered by blockchain on: December 29, 2019, 07:47:21 PM
Progress will be posted on this platform or privately to those who have interest in the project progress

You have no company name, given no website, no vital info provided about your project and you straight right of the bat asking for members here to believe in your project? Just place this thought on any investor's perspective will you even trust this kind or project where they conceal a lot of information and directly ask money?

Thank you for believing in that which not yet seen, only perceived!

Just by saying this you are asking people to trust your project blindly and you are hoping people to be serious with you? I'm not the type of person to judge projects like yours for their first introduction but you did a pretty bad job of being transparent here in the forum. So maybe provide more info for members to see to make your project at least look legitimage for us.
1035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: December 29, 2019, 06:13:39 PM
I'm not sure even Ibra come back to San Siro will give any significant impact to AC Milan players, even many people say he will inspire young Ac Milan players, but it will not give any change to win a match if they doesn't have good strategy.
Maybe to raise the morale of the team and guide new players / young players owned by Milan Ibra can do it. However, to change the AC Milan game I think it will not happen in a short time like you said. They clearly need a fairly long process. Besides they also need to buy new players later and try to bring in a new coach in accordance with the club's own philosophy. If indeed Pioli failed to do his job

Zlatan has only been in the AC Milan contract for only one season. If Ibra still cannot provide the best direction for Milan then I think this is said to be a failure, even though the guidance is still no change, I believe this needs a total change from player to coach if you want milan to remain Up.

I don't see him as a main stay for the Club nor even some kind of quick fix for the team. He is 38 years old and he only scored a lot of goals because he is just playing in the MLS (no offense) and the level of competition is considerably different in European leagues more specifically in Serie A. In my opinion Milan only did this as a sign of hope or something that fans would appreciate like what they did to Kaka when they brought him back and fans really love it. It won't really be different for Zlatan as fans really loved him during those time. He is just here to cheer the crowd and not win some games. Hopefully in the next transfer window AC Milan will make some actual changes where the team could be relevant again this season.

And you should also take note that Bernard Arnault, owner of Louis Vuitton, is trying to acquire Milan and he is really aiming to give a big investment for the team, this is what will actually make some changes for the team.
1036  Other / Meta / Re: [Just Kidding] Merit giveaway board request in marketplace on: December 29, 2019, 05:07:40 PM
Why create a board solely for the purpose of having merit giveaway threads when threads like this can be posted on appropriate boards by merit senders? By doing so its like you are creating a marketplace for merit sellers disguised as a merit giveaway which you already pointed out, this would just create a whole lot of mess in the merit system

Benefits:-
-People can do giveaways without making a mess in the Meta section with off-topic posts.
-People in need will know where to look for quick merits if they are near to achieve a milestone.

Drawbacks:-
-Merit exchange between users will be easily possible.
-People can trade their merit point in the name of a giveaway.

I know there are already a lot of giveaway threads that are also selling merits to some of their buyers but by creating a board solely for giveaway threads you are just encouraging more people to do this type of strategy to sell their merits.
1037  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens to BITCOIN next ? on: December 29, 2019, 03:42:29 PM
the problem with TA is that it is purely theoretical and in most of the times it is far from the reality. for example in this case the number you have come up with as support and resistances are theoretically correct but realistically wrong.

Even if it's purely theoretical it has been accepted to be more tgan edycated guessing and is a thousand times more better than just gut-feeling your trade. TA has been used for years in both trading as well as investing even before the crypto market existed if it didn't workout for both the stock market and the forex TA would simply end it's existence for just merely being a theory. TA is more just the study of candles and charts of an asset because like I said in the past TA is actually more about the study of the traders' behaviour and how they will react to the market based on that for example rising volume and price could indicate an increased in demand while a decrease in price as well as volume could inducate a decreased in demand. IMO TA is more than shooting blanks in tge market as you really have a live ammunition helping you.
1038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 26, 2019, 08:55:16 PM
Yeah, Deal almost done for Ibra to Milan.
I don't know how much he can do with them in their situation...

The rumors, for now, are for a 6months deal.
Such an odd signing...AC Milan's main problem isn't the lack of goal or the need of an experienced striker, so there's no reason for them to sign one, specially one who's on the verge of retiring, so...Why? At least from a marketing point of view it is a big deal for the club and the fans: The Legend Returns.

Them losing 5 goals to none against Atalanta and their main problem isn't scoring any goals? I'm not saying that this was the right move but this team needs a lot more change rather than adding another veteran forward where he will just be useful when the ball is with him, plus they still have Piatek as the main striker for the team not to mention they still have added Ante Rebic during the last transfer window so really if they want to add more fire power to the team adding an MLS star isn't really the right move right now.

1039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese Authorities Confiscating miners on: December 26, 2019, 08:18:53 PM
what are they going to do with those mining devices, its best for them to ask to pay the bills probably calculate how much they have consumed ans ask for electricity bill. they can;t sell those mining devices anyway. unless they are going to reuse those mining devices and mine for their own.

but how are they connecting their cables to tap electricity without getting caught the first day of operation?  chinese electricity is cheap actually, these miners can definitely afford to pay.

Well the Chinese people are known to be thrifty persons and they would save a lot of money as they can even through illegal means that's why they are doing this. Their operation like I said is illegal and these types of procedure where they confiscate their mining hardware is just sop and they will let the courts decide their punishment and whether or not they can reclaim the mining equipment after. I just hope that they make this as a lesson for people just to pay the right amount of bills rather than make their operation go underground since they are really facing the government here which we all know they barely lose.
1040  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will You Bet Or Gamble Before New Year, Or On The New Year on: December 26, 2019, 06:46:19 PM
It's actually your decision on whether or not you allow or play casino games yourself. Since you will just be playing in a casino during the new year I don't see anything bad against that as long as your family allowed you to gamble during that time. It is also up to you on how much are you willing to bet/lose but if I were you I would really watch the funds I have before I get intimidated with my money.
