1121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CRYPTOCURRENCY IN NORTH KOREA on: April 25, 2020, 04:18:51 PM
There's a man before who are lecturing about cryptocurencies but he end up dying.

Are you talking about Virgil Griffith? The man who lectured in North Korea about Bitcoin and blockchain and then got later on arrested by the US? Because if you are he is still alive and still facing charges against him by the FBI claiming that he provided the North Koreans a "highly technical" information that could help them evade sanctions and do money laundering. Of course this charge is bull shit and they need to provide an evidence or even the whole presentation of Griffith to prove this one but from the news I have been seeing this is none other than a witch hunt that the US authorities do to their own citizens involved in the crypto industry. They are assuming that the North Koreans doesn't know anything about crypto even before Virgil showed up to them but this is highly unlikely.
1122  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's the best way to buy a few thousand USD worth of Bitcoin or USDT on: April 25, 2020, 02:34:22 PM
I think the most convenient way for you is to set up a Coinbase account and have it verified. Luckily they accept a lot of Identification Cards so maybe the ID issued by your school will be accepted by them. Although sheenshane is right I've heard that Wells Fargo isn't accepting any crypto related transactions from them so what I would advise is for you to create a new bank account which is also recognized by Coinbase for their deposits but do also check first if they have Wells Fargo under them before you start looking for a bank, there is a chance that Wells Fargo are not blocking crypto related transactions by them.
1123  Other / Meta / Re: Appeal of Ban Appeal: “hacker1001101001” spammer-sockpuppet menagerie on: April 24, 2020, 08:26:19 PM
Fighting scam but spreading spam? I am not convince that hacker1001101001 deserves to even have a chance to even be here in the forum. It's pretty ironic that he is cleaning the forum from scams yet he is something doing against the rules by being involve in a bumping service. He might not even stop it in his own will since the bumping system in the ANN section of Altcoins have been change that's why he is claiming that he is no longer part of it. However if hacker1001101001 still wants to receive a temp ban I think it would be enough for him to spill out all the names part of this bumping service (with proof) in order to come out clean.
1124  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your thought during ECQ on: April 24, 2020, 06:16:56 PM
what if the Corona virus is a man made?and of course the vaccine is also a man made,,and the vaccine contain the chips,

It's man made if you consider the Wuhan market selling exotic animals which are unsafe to eat, but if you think this is some kind of biological weapon its highly unlikely especially on how it was quickly discovered part of the coronavirus family and not some kind of unique virus not known to men. I know conspiracy theories are a lot during these type of days but there is really nothing more to it if you really consider the facts. This COVID-19 virus was not created by a person if it was it will be killing more and spreading more but as of right now the only way it spready is from people who are violating their lockdown guidelines and try to protest about it, COVID-19 isn't even airborne and can only spread through droplets.
1125  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for Bitcoin - Crypto - Blockchain writers on: April 24, 2020, 04:11:52 PM
Maybe you can post up a pricing/estimate for us members who are interested writing articles for your website. Because most of the offers I see are either paying pennies for a dollar or they want it for free so hopefully what you are offering for us members are something a little bit bigger considering that your website won't have any content at all if you don't have a any writers that will be interested in the first place.

What we can offer
Money of course... We really don't have a big budget but of course we will pay you for the job. We can talk about rates but we at this time are not making lots to pay writers like CCN, Coindesk, and the others might.

And also hopefully this statement won't be on a permanent basis. If your site becomes successful and you are earning very well I think it might be time for these writers to have a pay bump especially if they take your offer at first which I think will be low based on your statement above.
1126  Economy / Speculation / Re: Raoul Pal - Bitcoins to hit one million dollars and warns about US depression on: April 24, 2020, 12:49:48 PM
There is only one reason I can think of why a lot of these financial investors are surfacing now is they've just acquired Bitcoin and is hoping to hype things up with their bold predictions. This Raoul Pal guy hasn't been linked with Bitcoin from what I believe and only this moment is he showed up which means that Pal might just be a late adopter and maybe is holding Bitcoin at a lost that's why his sentiments are positive about it. I won't be surprised if he late on admits that he is holding both Bitcoin and Gold where he is both positive about these assets, these people will always have a hidden agenda behind them.
1127  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cool inspirational stories about bitcoin... on: April 22, 2020, 04:13:34 PM
Most of these stories talk about successful investments, not the Bitcoin.

Only OP's title is misleading but he also clarifies it in his body.

The second story about Kristoffer Kock has more to it. What people only knows is his story about the 5,600 BTC he have bought for 26 or 27$ (depending on what source you are getting it at) during 2010 but he was really one of the main adopter of Bitcoin. He was able to read the Whitepaper for Bitcoin and has begun mining it in 2009 so I can believe that he has more than 5,600 BTCs during that time. He may more than double that considering how big are the block rewards during that time.
1128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can I 'delete' useless tokens from my wallet? on: April 22, 2020, 03:16:10 PM
Is it possible to remove tokens from dead projects/tokens that are totally useless and worth $0 from my wallet? Do I just send them to a random address? I don't want to burden anyone else with those shitcoins  Cheesy

You won't be burdening someone with this method, if you send it on an active address you'll just make the user curious on why he/she have randomly received cryptocurrencies in his address of course there is a chance where your wallet address will be posted online seeking to find answers why this address have sent them free crypto, if you don't care if someone knows your address then go for it. But if you don't want that to happen the best thing to do is to create a new wallet where you will send your shitcoins in.
1129  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Judge Rules Poolin Cofounders to Return Compensation and Pay 1.2M Fines toBitman on: April 22, 2020, 02:04:51 PM
That makes complete sense! Such kind of non-competition agreements are usually put in place to safeguard the business. Let's assume, I start a company in a certain sector today and hired three employees. These employees worked for me for a year to understand how the business work and receive their salaries during that period. Now after a year, they resign and started challenging the existence of my own business. That's not done!

Long back, I used to work for a freight forwarding company who were just starting up with their own platform for freight forwarders. They have built a unique platform to integrate freight forwarding as well as trucking industry in a single go. I had a similar kind of agreement executed with the while joining the company which stated I can't join a freight forwarding business for another 3 years after leaving their company. The Judge has taken right decision to safeguard the intellectual integrity of a business!

However what bugs me is why these ex-employees continue to create their own mining pool if they have an existing non-compete clause with Bitmain. Bitmain might did  a dirty trick by hiding the clause itself under their contract rather than outright telling that a non-compete clause such exist. Non-competes and NDAs(Non-disclosure Agreements) clauses are supposed to be said vocally and is clearly seen in their contracts so that they are fully aware of their contract. These three executives might not even have a clue that's why they got trapped by Bitmain. I have a feeling that this is a possibility here since they did this kind of dirty tactic to Micree when he got ousted.
1130  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-04-13] Coin Mixer’s Record Month Proves Bitcoin Users Want Anonymity on: April 22, 2020, 12:17:49 PM
@Harlot. Hehehe. It was only an argument. I did not try to put guilt. Is it not true that Binance Singapore froze a user's account because they something they did not want?

This is a matter of domestic laws from Singapore and not the actual guilt itself. CoinJoin transactions based on Singapore's AML procedures may have been violated by the user when they have mixed their withdrawals for privacy. However like I said this does not make them automatically guilty of something far more than adding privacy to their transaction, The Singaporean government cannot automatically assume that they are doing illicit activities just because they have mixed their cryptocurrencies. Mixing coins in Singapore might have violated some of their AML laws but its just that they aren't guilty of anything beyond mixing their coins.
1131  Economy / Reputation / Re: PM from betnomi. on: April 21, 2020, 09:41:24 PM
Your open-mindedness and objectivity is greatly respected. The only thing we are asking is, for people to be fair and balance in their judgment against us.
We have started this project and our intention is to grow it into something successful and worthwhile. As far as am concern, we will be operating, improving and increasing the brand name of Betnomi for many years to come.
Our hope is to have a mutualistic relationship with the community and not a parasitic one. The support, feedback and sometimes the criticism is immensely invaluable to us. We are learning, adapting and growing as a by-product of the stated characteristics.

Regarding being active in the forum, there are countless products and ideas that are in the works and we will keep the community updated every step of the way.
You will see us around Wink and expect more from Betnomi.

Maybe you should be asking the one who have tagged your project and supported the flag to what you can do in order to remove those tags rather than make it positive. I know that you have used a fake team and some of them are from other people without them knowing that they are part of the team so maybe you can come out clean by showing off who your real team members are? Maybe if you showed Bitcointalk a video of your team discussing a little bit about your gambling site will make things work for them other than that you should show that your gambling site is working properly without any reports of scams will also get you off the hook. Don't get me wrong and this tags won't be remove from your instantly as this will be a long process and it all depends on the people who have left you tags.
1132  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I am building a Wikipedia for Bitcointalk Heroes on: April 21, 2020, 08:13:56 PM
I don't know how citations and sources work in WikiMedia but in Wikipedia they don't allow sources coming from the forum sites like what we have that's why you won't be seeing any references from Bitcointalk in Wikipedia. If this is the same case for WikiMedia you'll be having a hard time creating these members a page since Bitcointalk links won't be allowed, you have to cite sources and references outside of the forum for you to be able to create their page and I think it will be a hard thing to do.
1133  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-04-13] Coin Mixer’s Record Month Proves Bitcoin Users Want Anonymity on: April 21, 2020, 06:43:49 PM
Agreed. Privacy is a fundamental right, however, that was not the argument. I was asking why or how can we assume that regular people who use bitcoin only as a speculative investment, or use it legally, mix their coins? This would put taint on their coins and also put their accounts on exchanges at risk.

I've replied with your argument earlier but it seems like it wasn't enough for you. Let me explain that this is an invalid argument. Why? Your argument already put guilt in their actions just because they are using a mixer for their daily activities. In simple terms if we put this in a court the roles will be reverse and now the burden of proof even though the defendant is not yet proven guilty is on them just because they use a mixer. Well in our law the burden of proof is always the ones who are accusing the defendant and they should always prove that this normal users you are talking about are using mixers illegally.
1134  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam alert]Stakedwallet Ponzi Scheme, Promising 1.5% daily. on: April 21, 2020, 05:27:19 PM
Just by looking at their fixed daily earnings as well as a 50% daily referral commission alone you'll see that this is a scam. They are offering 50% earnings of the "income" your friend earns for you, you know how unstable that is for any kind of investment? That's pretty big considering that the legit ones don't even pay any kind of referral rewards to their users. Good catch here @OP we need to be on high alert when it comes to StakedWallet entering BCT.
1135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: April 21, 2020, 03:53:23 PM
I'm just asking though.

And looking at the discussion it's likely that the comparison for MJ (past) and the current (LBJ) can't be ignored. But we as fans should stop comparing these two great players of our generation.

The same with the other discussions that I'm reading online after they've watched the docu.

why would we stop.. comparing them would give us some kind of a debate here, lol..
Everyone has their own opinion on whom they believe is better between the two, but I'm sure majority would vote for MJ and MJ has been the face of the NBA and the most recognize player in the NBA history, correct me if I'm wrong, but that's why I know and I believe.

If you have fans and fan boys for each player and each team they have played with this will be unavoidable. They will always save their own and even argue with bias since they want the GOAT to be the one who have played for their team. These comparisons doesn't even stop there since there will also be analysts, previous and current players, as well as other Hall of Famers talking about these kinds of comparisons so really there is no chance for this comparisons to die down.
1136  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the best pumping community out there? on: April 21, 2020, 02:01:29 PM
These groups that you are looking for are either created by one person with a lot of followers or only has a inner circle benefiting the pump. The ones they are suggesting in their "signals" is only when they have already bought the crypto at a lower price, your job as a follower is the one making the pump not the profit for you. It is simple as that, aside from the time wasting you will have there and the money you will lose from these pump groups you will also not learn anything about trading at all. If I were you I won't be relying too much on other people suggesting a trade since most of them will have a hidden agenda behind it.
1137  Other / Meta / Re: What is exactly the functionality of "Report to moderator"? on: April 20, 2020, 09:08:27 PM
For situations like this I think it would be better if you just created a thread in the reputation board pointing out to the shilling they are doing rather than reporting each posts of the two users one by one. If they are simply talking about their website than reporting it even if it is shitty or worthless will always be 50/50 in my opinion as it cannot be counted as a abusive or wrongly posted message since they are just talking about their website and illegally promoting it. At least if you posted this in the reputation board you have the chance to have them tag and save you some time by reporting each and every single one of their post.
1138  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How Binance STOLE my BTC, a WARNING to Others on: April 20, 2020, 07:53:51 PM

Before you join a crypto exchange, you should have at least read their verification levels whether or not they have a non-KYC widthrawing level. Missing this part will make a lot of newbies screwed when they are against KYC yet they have deposited a large sum of crypto in their account, obviously these exchanges will lock these accounts immediately before they can do anything something illicit from their platform, they are just trying to avoid this from happening that is why they have locked your account. If you really want your money back then just sacrifice it this one time and give out the KYC requirements they are asking for, it is simple as that.
1139  Economy / Economics / Re: Collapse of crude oil prices on: April 20, 2020, 06:13:16 PM
It seems like stopping production isn't always their solution for oversupply of their oil, when there is no demand for it their business is practically over. If you think about it most of the businesses that uses oil like air transportation, cargo shipping, delivery trucks have all hit a pause in their businesses as well which means their business will also take a hit whether or not they like it. This isn't avoidable at all and they can't do anything about it. Best thing now for this corporations is to ride this year out in the losing side and hope everything will go back to normal as soon as this pandemic subsides.
1140  Other / Off-topic / Re: [POLL] Which browser do you use for bitcointalk? on: April 20, 2020, 04:11:30 PM
I have voted for chrome browser. Generally 95% of the time I am using chrome browser. And sometimes try to use brave and firefox, very rarely the tor, and sometimes VPN with chrome browser. Smiley The most boring thing to me when I try to use a VPN on mobile.

Chrome violates your privacy with all their trackers and data gathering they do basically everything you input in Chrome is being fed up to Google's database for analysis to boost their revenue. If you want a good alternative I think Firefox is the best choice right now as they value your privacy even if you are not using their privacy mode, also their browser has a built in protection for cryptojacking from websites that uses your pc's power to mine for them, this I think is really a no brainer for people who want a safe and private browser.
