1201  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Whirlwind.money | ⚡No Fee⚡ | Ultimate Privacy | Anonymity Mining 12% APR on: August 30, 2023, 12:47:40 PM
Considering the fact that all the BTC is still untouched in their multisig address, what are the chances that something actually happened to the owner and he was the only one with access to everything?
That would tie-in with the part when the owner told Hhampuz he had travelled but was returning and during his absence he did not allow anybody complete access to the Whirlwind server. Though it would still not be enough negate any negligence on his part as things currently stand, with the funds untouched after all this time it raises more questions about whether something really did happen to him.

I got an email back from whirlwind just now and it was as I suspected - something happened.

Basically, main people lost access due to travels while people still with access didn't have the right credentials to solve basic issues that caused withdraws to get stuck on the back-end. I've been assured that nothing has been lost and that all will be taken care of tomorrow meaning all currently pending withdraws will be processed and things return back to normal. It was an unfortunate situation is all!

I've asked my contact at whirlwind to reply in this thread whenever they can with further details, so from now until then/tomorrow night there is no need to panic even if I wouldn't recommend you to deposit until the backlog is cleared. Campaign participants will also be paid out as per usual tomorrow, regardless of if you've removed your signature or not.
1202  Other / Meta / Re: Request: Disable merits in the Wall Observer thread on: August 30, 2023, 12:28:35 PM
Its been mentioned a few times already but its because a lot of merit sources hang out in that thread, and anything pro-BTC or pro-number-go-up is deemed eligible for a merit. That in itself isn't the problem. The problem is that this phenomenon attracts a lot of lazy shitposters (and their new alt accounts) looking for merits to rank up, and that is the only reason they participate in that thread.
One of the issues account farmers face (and there are too many account farmers in the forum) is the manner in which they will try to receive merits. If they use the higher ranking (Full Member/Snr Member/Hero/Legendary) accounts they already operate to give out merits they will end up getting connected with their alt-accounts. The safest way for them to receive merits would be try to get other members to send them.

Not entirely but much activity in the Wall Observer thread has morphed in to an educational session for newbies and account farmers on how to spam and hope for merits.

The end result is firstly a lot of unnecessary spam and secondly the empowerment and multiplication of lazy shiposters, much akin to the creation of a beggar culture. Its developmentally crippling for these users and if the bleeding heart merit givers really cared for these people they would stop enabling them -- stop teaching them that spamming, sucking up and kissing ass pays.
The notion they will eventually receive merits for flooding copy/paste from Twitter/X has enabled the culture to thrive. Ranking-up threads used to mean something back in the day, now they mean nothing more than an attempt to get more merits rather than a mechanism for recognition for the contributions they have made in the community.

The threads created to give out merits for worthy posts that are reported to them are a force for good if they are used properly. There are several threads like that but when they are flooded with members who are operating as part of account farms, it simply does not bring the benefit the merit sources had intended.

Just look at the state of the thread here: Save your nice merit records here - LAST UPDATE: 12/07/2023

It was a nice idea to have that thread for reasons it was created for but lately it has been flooded by a huge number of relatively new members seeking merits for posting about other members merits and activity. In many cases there were no nice merits to save but some members used (and still do use it) to post anything they can hold of but ultimately they are seeking merits. It is for that reason many low ranking members started posting non-memorable records usually of much higher ranking members rather than Jnr Member or Member accounts because they hoped to get merits.

Not just the merit givers but as a collective we have to stop teaching them that spamming, sucking up and kissing ass pays otherwise we are sending out the wrong message of encouragement.
1203  Economy / Reputation / Re: hashrateproducts is a bought or hacked account. on: August 30, 2023, 11:27:41 AM
You have a host of very serious allegations made against you yet you have made just this one token post to claim innocence. Since you replied here you've made 12 posts including 4 today and all of them in football threads therefore it can be concluded you intended to meet your signature campaign requirement rather than put up a defence when your account was being called in to question.

There is a huge amount of evidence posted to link you with evading a ban and also for cheating in bounty campaigns. Instead of defending your account by putting forward an alternative version of events you have effectively accepted this is your last week to receive signature campaign payments from the Lordhermes account therefore you posted in football threads instead of challenging any information that was presented.

That leads me to the following question: How many accounts do you actually operate? Did you create this Lordhermes account or was it purchased from the original creator to use within the account farm?

You are mistaking here with fake and invalid proof, Nutildah, please do a recheck because that's not my Binance smart chain wallet address, I've never used that address and I don't know who owns it, do a thorough recheck about it.

~snip~

I think there is no reasons for any negative tag, I am not a bounty cheater and not an alt to any ban evading account, please remove the tag once you get this cleared.
1204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2023/2024 on: August 27, 2023, 02:01:51 PM
These are the games taking place today:

Burnley vs Aston Villa
Sheffield United vs Manchester City
Newcastle United vs Liverpool

^  Def could be considered a huge win against a better squad by Marco Silva and his boys.  The guy is a good manager and was earmarked to be the 'next Mourinho' by football journos when he came up with Watford.  But it wasn't to be when he went to Everton and just smashed the transfer budget and nothing to show for.  Cheesy

Some managers are just better for smaller clubs.  :/
Silva was gaining reputation fast. Sadly for him it went downhill when he managed a bigger club and though not successful recently, Everton are a big club with potential and huge fanbase. He will do well at Fulham, I hope he stays there and builds a team capable of staying in the Premier League.

Anyway, how is Liverpool 3.05 vs Newcastle?  I don't think they've lost more than three matches in their last 10 games bs each other.  Draw no bet is around 2.25 or something.
This will be a brilliant game to watch. If Newcastle United win they will show they are going to chase a top four spot all season. If Liverpool win, they will show they are after the Premier League crown. I think Newcastle will edge this or it will be a draw therefore the odds for Liverpool to win do not seem attractive  Grin
1205  Economy / Reputation / Re: Super High IQ BenCodie vs Low IQ forum posters about gambling. on: August 27, 2023, 10:46:25 AM
As I have said before, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Pushing that opinion on others is where you go wrong, otherwise he is allowed to feel a certain way, be a hypocrite, and even be a dick.

If people do not like it, there is that ignore button, if managers do not like his controversial statements, they can fire and exclude him.
I know he has been ruffling too many feathers with his hypocritical posts and his claims of superior intellect which resulted in the OP creating this thread but the primary problem from my perspective is related to BenCodie stating he had enough information and belief (with 5 flags) to conclude that Whirlwind was a scam. Yet with that certainty he did not raise his concerns with anybody nor did he have a problem with trying to join their signature campaign as long as he was paid on time.

I asked him have a period of self-reflection on his recent conduct but rather than offer somewhat of even a half-hearted apology to those he insulted, he has gone on the offensive.

My first question to this user was why he thinks that the gambling board is an unethical board which is why he does not support the merit source application. He believes there is no need for merit sources for the unethical board while he himself wearing a casino signature and promoting it. Isn't it ironic? He might have a different point of view but how is it when you say dealing drugs is unethical and you promote it through a billboard you own just because someone pays you money for that?

I noticed whoever says something against his opinion, he starts talking to them aggressively and he believes they have low IQ and this user is the only person with super High IQ. I do not see any reason for insulting reputed members just because they shared their opinion about him and yet he expects everyone to accept his opinion (whoever does not agree with his opinion = Low IQ). Isn't it Ironic?
BenCodie is a complete and utter narcissist. After he was confronted for his unacceptable conduct in the Whirlwind thread, he refused to post there. It is not as though he has contributed anything to the forum yet he goes around lecturing members on matters that portray himself as a hypocrite, which is self-defeating. He wants to give the impression of superior intellect yet fails spectacularly because he comes across as nothing more than someone who has a bloated opinion of self-importance.

unibitcoinist is clearly attention-seeking and he is not the only one. BenCodie seems to be posting anywhere but here after his recent comments. No reputable campaign manager or reputable forum member would knowingly be part of a scammers signature campaign because if they did they would not be reputable.

Rather than question others behaviour, unibitcoinist should tell us about why he did not tag anybody related to the Whirlwind signature campaign?

Had the campaign manager not been Hhampuz, some of you would tag the service and probably the campaign manager as well.
Nice theory! It would be an absolute masterpiece if you could sprinkle in a little something called evidence to make it truly shine.

Your account was registered in 2018 yet in more than 5 years you have made 3 posts and they were between 18/19th August 2023. Your post about the roulette has been swarmed over by a bunch newbies with their own questionable history. What do you have to say about that?

1208  Economy / Reputation / Re: Super High IQ BenCodie vs Low IQ forum posters about gambling. on: August 26, 2023, 10:15:36 PM
BenCodie has made a series of unacceptable posts in the Whirlwind thread therefore he seems to have a very high opinion of himself. It is probably that narcissistic attitude that has made him become noticed recently, when he most probably would have stayed unnoticed. He seems highly opinionated on matters of gambling and mixers but is willing to push sentiments aside if it means participating in signature campaigns.

My only comment

Care to post here BenCodie:
BenCodie, please review your last few posts (including the ones where you have insulted respected members of the forum) and ask yourself if you have achieved anything constructive by using profanities and insults. I doubt it will help you when you put forward any argument to debate any matter in any walk of life therefore it should not help you here.

Also, would you like to re-think your post about you saying in your opinion you knew Whirlwind was a scam but you did two very interesting things. First, you did not post warnings about it (because you said you were not obliged to) and second, even though in your opinion it was a scam from the very beginning you did not hesitate to apply to join their signature campaign and you would have no problem with participating if you were selected.

That sort of conduct is shocking to say the least if you are stating you believed it was a scam but had no problem wanting to be part of their signature campaign.
1209  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2023/2024 on: August 26, 2023, 10:00:39 PM
Is it fair to say Fulham should have won the game? Arsenal took the lead after Fulham had a player down in need of medical attention. The referee should have stopped the game but having said that Fulham equalised. Palhinha dominated the game for Fulham therefore it was fitting he scored the equaliser.
Anyway, anybody watching Arsenal vs Fulham.  I got this on mute while watching the UFC.  The heart in this Fulham squad...  Smiley  They'll prolly win more than their fair share of matches vs better clubs this season.  These guys don't give up.

These were the results of the games played today. West Ham United sit at the top of the Premier League table:

Bournemouth 0-2 Tottenham Hotspur
Arsenal 2-2 Fulham
Brentford 1-1 Crystal Palace
Everton 0-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers
Manchester United 3-2 Nottingham Forest
Brighton and Hove Albion 1-3 West Ham United

Jollygood, how strange your negative campaign against the Sinbad.io mixer looks now https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5454407
How strange.

I didn't wear the signature at any stage
It's because your application was not accepted by the campaign manager (probably for good reasons), had your application been accepted -- you wouldn't be writing these walls of text.
I am disappointed at the way BenCodie has stated he was convinced Whirlwind was a scam (and posted flags) yet he tried to join the campaign on the basis he was not obliged to raise concerns. I wrote a post but decided to replace it with a watered down one asking him to reflect on his actions, he has not posted back since.

There is one game taking place this evening:

Chelsea vs Luton Town

With 75 minutes played Chelsea are winning 3-0. Stirling scored the first two goals and Jackson scored the third. Pochettino has managed to get the team to go out and play with confidence even if it is against newly promoted Luton Town.

The game played on Monday 21st August ended: Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

Regarding the two points you stated, if that is what any member thinks it is their opinion and there will always be a difference of opinion. If there are members who have the principle that Whirlwind was an obvious scam that is there opinion but in my opinion it does not have merit because it was not obvious to most of us.

Also, if there are any members alluding that those who participated in the signature campaign knowingly promoted a scam (for the sake of $125-$150 per week), that too is an opinion they are entitled to. I think that opinion will be shared by a tiny minority.

That's the tricky part: even though I agree, many people don't think that way. Just like they think Merit is an endorsement.

I understand that coming from someone who never advertised any service before, but as soon as you start advertising something it automatically puts you on the same boat as everyone else who promotes a service that isn't an obvious scam like Ponzi, so it makes no sense to say "I am better than you because I am advertising this service which I so happen not to guarantee".

I have nothing against n0nce, but the main takeaway of his post was

1- WW was as obvious a scam as Bitconnect.
2- Everyone who participated in WW did it for the $/post despite knowing it was a scam

I respect his decision for not feeling comfortable advertising WW or any other service he doesn't like, but those claims make it seem like every one of us was advertising an obvious scam just for money, maybe he didn't mean it that way, but his post implies exactly that.
1216  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Whirlwind.money | ⚡No Fee⚡ | Ultimate Privacy | Anonymity Mining 12% APR on: August 23, 2023, 01:39:53 PM
That is precisely the problem if we can call it that. How much due-diligence can be applied before selecting a product or service to advertise or promote? Some do end up scamming and some do not. I suppose if signature campaign participants investigated and concluded there were no major concerns that they were dealing with scammers that would be the best they could do.

You have a signature advertising a mixer that uses exchanges to "clean" coins...which is even more centralized than a protocol-based mixer.
If we stop advertising products that might turn out to be scams in the future, then there is nothing left to advertise. Everything is potentially a scam. Plus, someone might prefer the comfort and pricing of a mixer over decentralized solutions.

If something bad happened to the person/team behind Whirlwind rendering them unable to work or post it did not stop them from communicating with Hhampuz telling him they would be fixing the issue upon their return. The fact the Whirlwind forum representative was very articulate in presenting and debating makes this one of those projects that will always leave us wondering what really took place behind the scenes.

Their Whirlwind website should have given them several times more than the $40,000 they deposited in the escrow to make an exit-scam worthwhile because any profit would have to take that loss in to account. We do not know how much they made from abandoning the project. In the near future I hope we do have some clarity regarding the facts rather than speculation. One thing is clear, if they returned to the forum they will probably be caught out if any similarities are spotted.

There is definitely something strange about Whirlwind. The way they arrived in the forum with an innovative mixing idea and then abandoned it, something seems strange especially with the manner they left behind the $40,000 deposit.
Let's think as a scammer, your main goal is to scam the most money, so now regular users of the forum are aware of your scam and they will no longer use your service, but everyone else who isn't active here and isn't lucky enough to read all the updates doesn't know, so in order to scam even more people you would want to

1-Fix the clearnet
2-Make some withdrawals from the multisig (to addresses you own) to make things seem normal
3-Change the color of the main banner on your website

Basically, anything that would make anyone attempting to use your service more comfortable so you can scam more and more money, if you don't do that, then it's one of four.

1- Stupid (obviously not the case here we know WW person here was pretty smart)
2- You feel bad and don't want to scam more people (would bet my first born that no scammer would do that) p.s you would just shut down the whole service if this was the case.
3-You are not a scammer and something bad actually happened to you.
4-You are indeed a scammer BUT something bad actually happened to you.

Anyway, it's fun to hear all the different thoughts on this, we all are just speculating (for fun and curiosity I suppose), we may know the truth at one point, or maybe not.

There is something strange about this mixer, as I said, it doesn't really matter much to the users who lost funds, because whether the person behind the mixer was a scammer or a dead man -- the results are the same, but knowing for sure what actually happened would be good.

These are the results from the games played yesterday:

Aston Villa 4-0 Everton
West Ham United 3-1 Chelsea

Aston Villa played flowing football and deserved the win. If Everton do not change their playing style they will be fighting a relegation battle all season long.

Full credit to West Ham for taking the game to Chelsea and they deserved the win. Moyes has been a good manager for West Ham but problems for Pochettino and Chelsea just keep on mounting. Of all players it was record £115 million buy Caicedo who committed the foul to give West Ham the penalty that made the score 3-1.
