1261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we bring Blockchain to the Mainstream? on: March 23, 2020, 02:23:39 PM
It's already here in the mainstream and corporate world already if you aren't already aware of it. Just search in Google about "blockchain patents" and you will already see dozens if not hundreds of companies already exploiting the technology in their systems or in their businesses. Companies such as Walmart, Visa, Alibaba, and IBM are already trying to make their own versions of blockchain from digital ledgers of medical records to even used as a way to store history all of them are now creating specific uses for blockchain. The sad thing about that is Bitcoin's own technology which is blockchain is the one who is dominating the markets rather than the crypo itself, since Blockchain tech itself is patentless a lot of companies took advantage of it and now they will try to profit from it in the near future.
1262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 23, 2020, 01:27:35 PM
Then again I think some clubs could take advantage on some bargains.  Been reading that Man United wants to acquire Aubameyang from Arsenal and Thomas Lemar from Atletico.  I guess those two could go for a much less than the usual bloated market price.

I think Areta should acquire Ings as Auba's replacement.  Smiley

I do agree that the transfer market have changed once they have cancelled most of the European football leagues. If you think about it cancelling/postponing a league season would simply mean lost of income entirely except for the fixed sponsorship revenue they have other modes of revenue such as gate receipts, tv revenue, prize money in competitions, as well as various clauses all of which won't be going into any club because of the suspension. So I'm really expecting that the ones being rumored to be transfer listed now will be out of the list and instead try to raise their stocks when they are playing the next season.
1263  Economy / Economics / Re: Here is how Iran plans to use cryptocurrencies to evade economic sanctions on: March 23, 2020, 12:36:52 PM
Can't see that this news has a single ounce of truth in it. The way how they wrote both sides for the US and Iran it feels like they will go to war against each other again just because of Iran scheming to avoid sanctions. The U.S. already announced peace with Iran and they admit that killing their top general was necessary for them, so believing that this news is real will actually be senseless to think that U.S. is here again having reasons just to have a confrontation against Iran. I won't really believe this news especially if it is coming from a crypto news website, I would rather wait what the CNN and BBC news will have to say about this one.
1264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How About Bitcointalk raise Money in BTC to Donate on fight against Coronavirus on: March 22, 2020, 09:35:48 PM
Supposed to say that theymos did collect some donation to help fight the pandemic, on what organization do you think we need to send it to? WHO? CDC? Italy? Accumulating of funds isn't really the problem here, it's the one where you send it too. And these organizations does not always accept donations all of a sudden just because someone is willing to give them. I know a lot of us is in the spirit of giving and helping and I don't think money is always the solution on problems like this one. Just by staying at home and observing social distancing can be a big help for your country to reduce the spread. Us intervening right now is the last thing they want us to do.
1265  Economy / Reputation / Re: Hitmex Exchange {Scam} The owner is a fraud on: March 22, 2020, 08:30:19 PM
@OP I guess the lesson here for any bounty manager is not to always trust them even if they look ok at first. As a bounty manager you still need to practice due diligence when it comes to what projects you accept and what projects you must avoid, don't get blinded with the money and promises they offer you since this will be there way on how they will scam you and your participants. Always do some background checks with regards to there projects and the legitimacy of their company since this is where you'll spot if they are a scam or not.
1266  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: South Korean Lawmakers Greenlight Strict Crypto AML Bill on: March 22, 2020, 07:21:11 PM
Japan so far has had the most rigourous regulation and as far as I know forced security checks and practices on exchanges. That hasn't stopped some of the most epic hacks happening in Japan, though the biggest was Coincheck and they weren't properly regulated.

I hope they've recruited the right people who sign off on their security practices and know all the tricks inside out rather than some clueless civil servant.

I know that Japan has one of the most strict screening process out there but thing is their screening process on crypto exchanges are more focused on the liquidity/financial health of the company running the exchanges as well as how these companies will be implementing the KYC/AML procedures they required to them before they get licensed. The FSA's screening process might be pointed more on how a crypto exchange can run fully operational rather than the security of it's platform so maybe that is the reason why hacks are still happening in Japanese crypto exchanges.
1267  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Corona Virus crypto related extortion email on: March 22, 2020, 07:01:29 PM
The email was digital but his threat requires him to do something that he needs to be physically present, which if you are looking at it realistically you will see that this is probably one of the lamest and unrealistic ways to extort a person. Chasing him or getting back at the email sender isn't really the best solution out there but what the article said is right and just literally avoiding and not believing the threat is the best way to deal with these email extortions. They won't stop on what they are doing but at least they won't add you to one of their victims so being realistic and practicing proper internet etiquette is the best way to avoid and not be fooled by these scams.
1268  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: we are so close to HALVING !!!are these dumps CONNECT to halving time??? on: March 22, 2020, 05:08:43 PM
I believe that by now you must have known the reason why the price crashed. The crash has been linked to a lot things and the pandemic is part of it. Let’s hope that there’s going to be a change soon, the price has been struggling to reach $11,000 but, it crashes and drops back to below $4000 and recovered to above $6000. This is a serious bad situation and I’m really hoping that the situation be stopped for good. The problem now is that there haven’t been a cure for it yet, but this will all end.

The halving is going to be on May, that’s about one month from now and by then we will see what happens. If there is no scheduled halving then we might have faced very big dump but fortunately people kept their faith on halving and this must be the reason why bitcoin market is recovering right now.

I wouldn't be confident about the recent price jump of Bitcoin right now since the price movement of it doesn't show signs of reversal. This might just be the volatility we are seeing or a dead cat bounce due to the massive overselling we have seen recently. Just keep in mind that I don't see this as a recovery at all the price might even just pump because the people who have shorted it way up are now trying to accumulate Bitcoin again but other than that I really don't see BTC going up for a while.
1269  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-03-11] Intel SGX Vulnerability Discovered, Cryptocurrency Keys Threatened on: March 22, 2020, 02:48:08 PM
Anandtech made an article about this last week and what seems to be the problem here is even there 10th gen processors are also affected by the vulnerability. Intel said that they will launch an update for this LVI issue but since the date of the writing I haven't seen any actual fix for the problem. They may not be making this a priority since even Intel themselves thinks that the attack is too complicated to happen with their SGX system, but if you are a consumer words like this are not enough since you won't really have a peace of mind knowing that your pc is vulnerable because of your cpu. I'm just lucky that my desktop right now have a Ryzen cpu but for the owners of Intel cpus I won't be confident to store my crypto on my own system.
1270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steem community hardfork - Hive.blog will be launched on Friday on: March 22, 2020, 01:49:14 PM
An wise man once said - never underestimate the power of common man! The upcoming steem hardfork is a perfect example of this statement. Community didn't like that Justin Sun acquired steemit platform and they are now moving away to a new platform.

Decentralized world is full of surprises and truly proves that majority always wins! I too am waiting for my hive token!

Or the best thing that users can do do is to move out from the Steemit platform entirely. I've seen the rise and fall of Steemit and I don't think a hard fork is something that the users can consider as a saving grace but having a new platform together with improvements from the previous system is something that the users will really like. It's just my personal opinion on that matter and I've seen infuential writers also not happy with the take over so maybe the best thing to do is to move a new platform not related to Steemit or Justin Sun.
1271  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I still need help on: March 21, 2020, 06:54:47 PM
Thank you all for the support I got from last posts. I am still new and I still face some challenges.
I want to post my first article but find it difficult to post.

If you are still not ready to create your own article I would highly advice that you post in threads instead and join some conversation there. Try to avoid megathreads (threads with 20+ pages) or threads who have generic topics since this are the ones who people don't really care about reading. Also don't try to assume something you don't know, aside from looking bad people will really see that you lack knowledge in the topic involved. My last piece of advice is don't hurry up in posting, if you are really new here and you think you cannot be part of any conversation, the best thing you can do is to read and understand what they are talking about.
1272  Other / Meta / Re: [Help] Hacked account "Realknow" on: March 21, 2020, 04:46:34 PM
Are you sure it is hacked or you just forgot your password? The account was last active on February 4, 2020 which was the time you claimed the hack but the account didn't have any real activity prior to that. Reviewing your post history doesn't help either since the last post wast on January 28 and I didn't see any changes with your posting habits. So really there is no evidence that your account has been hacked  or at least is being used by someone else since there is no activity for more than a month now.
1273  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: WALAHALA HARDWARE WALLET on: March 18, 2020, 05:58:44 PM
Your brand new hardware wallet cost 145$ while a brand new Ledger Nano X cost 119$ which includes free shipping so what makes you think that a consumer would choose  a much more expensive, untrustworthy hardware wallet like yours? For someone pricing their product on someone already dominating the market you are already doing a bad job, the site's design and lack of information inside it doesn't really help either since it just makes your product more untrustworthy and unappealing to your potential buyers. If I were you I'll really start on improving my website as well as my pricing before rushing everything on introducing my product to the market.
1274  Economy / Speculation / Re: Types of People on this Corona Virus crisis which group you belong? on: March 18, 2020, 05:28:40 PM
Brave hodlers
These peoples are the one still believe with the potential of cryptocurrency even the market now is dripping with blood. Ignoring the volatility and still relaxing while others are in state of confusion.

Not unless you are hodling Bitcoin still at a gain I wouldn't say that they are one of the wiser bunch of people in the crypto market. If you are hodling Bitcion in your portfolio at a loss now it only means that you are stuck with Bitcoin and have lose the opportunity to profit or at least short it before the bloodbath started, they are close to panic sellers who really don't have any strategies left but to hodly since they don't have any exit plans in place in times like this.
1275  Economy / Services / Re: Need help to vote in an app, 20 000 votes or more. on: March 18, 2020, 04:31:56 PM
The voting is done through an app which needs a login.
Every login gets one vote.

PM me urgently.  Wink

A voting system where you need to put in your emails and password? No thanks, it is easy for me to step back on these kinds of offers without even saying the consequences I will face by giving up valuable information in an app, aside from that you are asking this as a favor without anything in exchange so basically you'll be the only one benefiting. You'd be better off availing this kind of service on guys selling Twitter followers, likes, and IG followers which you'll find it more easier since multiple accounts is one of their forte although I'm not recommending it since there is no guarantee the authenticity of the number they will give you, you should also keep in mind that these types of games where they require voting will always have an eye to those who are padding the votes.
1276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: March 18, 2020, 03:30:21 PM
Oh my! How could that happen?
The best answer for this I think is that maybe he interacted with someone who has the virus already but he doesn't know it. All of the states in US have cases already so.. probably that is how he got it

Being in contact with someone seems to be pretty impossible in Durant's case not unless it is his fellow teammate or someone close too. Durant and the other thee Brooklyn Nets players if they had not infect each other might have contracted it on the same environment may it be from an air borne strain or from plastic surfaces which they have shared each other. Kevin Durant's case might be really different compared to other sports stars who have it where some of them are asymptomatic, Durant however showed symptoms that's why they had him tested. Let's just hope that the doctors know what they are doing so that Durant can recover.
1277  Economy / Economics / Re: a disease or a virus or is there business in it? on: March 18, 2020, 02:38:39 PM
From what I know a pandemic such as this one cannot be monetize by pharmaceutical businesses if they find an antidote. That would violate a lot of international laws which a lot of countries already agreed and the company's CEO might be charged such as crimes against humanity. If they found a cure the best thing the company will get is either a subsidy for their research as well as some compensation for their efforts, they might profit a little but they won't be billionaires because of it as they cannot make this antidote/cure exclusive to the rich, this cure will be everyone's right to receive.
1278  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: US has planted a land mine in Tax Reporting for 2019. on: March 18, 2020, 10:11:39 AM
~snip~

That and various tax treaties so even using a foreign exchange might not be enough long term if someone went through KYC.

U.S. citizens don't even have that option in the first place. Before Binance re-entered the U.S. market their previous operations was labelled as illegal and they are left but to either freeze their US Customer's accounts if they haven't withdrawn their balances before the deadline. Just by writing this post I just have realized that the IRS and various other US authorities might have just covered a lot of loopholes when it comes to shedding of some of their citizens' taxes. They are really keen on looking each and every way we use out cryptocurrencies and they are always trying to cover it with their power.
1279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Does Bitcoin Have Value? on: March 17, 2020, 09:41:32 PM
I think the guy on the video had answered the wrong question. The title and topic was supposed to be about why Bitcoin has value but proceeded to answer why Bitcoin is valuable which is a different thing. He did mentioned it at around 0:21 of the video when he said that "in a nutshell Bitcoin is valuable because...." so the bottomline is he didn't even answer the question to his own topic. It is really obvious when he did proceed to stray away from talking about the economic side of Bitcoin and proceed to talk about the features and why it is "better" compared to fiat currencies.
1280  Economy / Reputation / Re: Another Lauda topic : Can we review the feedback she lefts? on: March 17, 2020, 08:46:08 PM
She isn't a DT user here in the forum so why bother? The negative tag she is giving to the users won't show up as a red paint for other users to see and it simply has no weight into it. Reviewing each and every negative tag she gave is really unnecessary considering that the time and effort will need to do that, I don't think she will remove all of it or even any of it when other members disagree to her feedback. Other than that according to her LoyceV's trust page she is distrusted by 245 members (including 22 DT1) as compared to 120 members (19 DT1) trusting her. I wouldn't really make this a big concern anymore especially when it involves how a member just tag people which you just disagree with.
