1341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Back in 2021 Form ;) on: April 20, 2023, 03:25:20 PM
Ethereum now is like it was in 2019, 4 years ago. In 2019 bear market Ethereum recovered from about $130 to that year highest price about $340.

I don't expect Ethereum to have a rally which is too closely to its all time high in 2021 about $4700. It won't happen in a bear market and it is simple to realize that fact. I agree that it is a good plan to accumulate Ethereum before a next halving of Bitcoin in 2024. Ethereum will follow Bitcoin after Bitcoin makes its new all time high. It is specifically supported by the Burning mechanism by Ethereum itself.

A great website to see changes of Ethereum supply after the Burning mechanism was activated and how will it go in speculative model.
https://ultrasound.money/

That's an interesting take saying we're still in a bear market.  I mean yeah it still lacks a very important factor right now.  The guys from the mainstream..  But the charts show that we're starting getting in the bull market.  BTC is up close to 100% from the November lows, ETH isn't doing too bad too and there's a meme coin craze going on.  All signs are pointing that we're getting there...

^  That last bit about the meme coins could also point out that we've just hit the local top tho.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Oof Topuria, yes please.  That guy is a beast.  And to think Paddy Pimblet was trying to pick a fight vs the guy.  After Topuria's solid win again Bryce Mitchell who is a good prospect himself, I don't think Topuria's name will be coming out of Pimblet's mouth again.  Lol.

...  I just checked the rankings at 145...  With all the fighters above Topuria having an L at their latest bouts, would the UFC really match Topuria with Holloway?  That's a huge jump from 9 to 2.

Paddy the Baddy is now Tabby the Bubbly for Ilia Topuria for sure Pimblet is not ready for the big game in the UFC and it is likely seen in his previous game so for me the hype train was really derailed in that one fight against Jared Gordon, and that should be a win for Jared Gordon it was a close match but a win for Jared Gordon for sure,

Now back to Ilia Topuria, against Max Holloway, I really want to see that fight but 1st Ilia Topuria will face Josh Emmett for UFC Fight Night 226, on June 17, 2023, let's see how well can he really do, a great match because Emmett is on top 5, so this will approach Topuria likely facing Holloway,

Ah...  Didn't expect that the UFC to offer Emmet another tough opponent just a little over a month after his loss to Yair Rodriguez.  And I wonder why Emmet signed up for the fight.  It's prolly his age.  He' like almost 40 amd he needs to a couple of good wins to get a crack at the title again.  Don't think he'll win tho.  Topuria is good at wrestling, grappling and his hands have powerrr.

Anyway, who you guys got in the main event this weekend?  I'm going back and forth but I think Blaydes has the slight edge with the wrestling and it's 5 rounds.  He needs to get past the first couple of rounds vs Pavlovich tho.
1343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / ETH Back in 2021 Form ;) on: April 19, 2023, 03:19:40 PM
I don't know if you guys noticed but ETH is back in its 2021 trend where it belongs.  Wink  Now holding on to it will depend on how it consolidates above the red bar.  Obviously if the buyers gobble up everything the market throws at them then hopefully we'll see another leg up to 2.5k soon and 3.5k after that.  Leeezz gooo!

1344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for the Next Great 1000x on: April 19, 2023, 02:23:52 PM
It looks like I was wrong guys...  I was sooo wrong.  It's not a coin with a DOGE logo that's going to be our next 1000x, it's the coin with a PEPE logo!  We really need to do our research and find a way to get in early with these plays.  PEPE just did 1000x in 5 days and it's not one of those no volume 1000x's, it has huge volume behind it.  So yeah...  Now the meta is back to memecoins but not with DOGE derivatives.  It's for those popular memes like WOJAK, BOBO, etc.. etc.

PEPE is already over 100m USD in market cap, WOJAK is at 14m USD and BOBO is at just 2.3m market cap rn.  I took a little shot at BOBO.  Let's see how it goes...  Wish me luck.

Edit:  Typos.
1345  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for April on: April 19, 2023, 01:55:36 PM
What the fck just happened?  A few hours ago everything looked like it was gonna go trend up above 30k albiet having some resistance.  Now it's looking like it's ready to go down to 26.5k support.  :/  Does anybody know what's going on?  It would be so weird if BTC just went down out of the blue without rhyme or reason or without anything happening behind the scenes.

Hopefully itwas just a fat finger error and we proceed to going back to how it was in a couple of days.
1346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏁🏎️ Sportsbet.io🏁 FORMULA 1 2023 Season🏁🏎️Prediction Pool Discussion Thread on: April 19, 2023, 01:20:51 PM
You are right however the calendar could have been updated after the Chinese GP was cancelled. 4 races in 5 weeks after a three-week break will make things difficult for the race calendar of  teams. Intercontinental logistic transportation can really leave teams in a difficult situation.

I hope that we can see other teams getting closer to Red Bull even a little in the Azerbaijan GP that will take place next weekend.

Max already has 1.20 odds to win Azerbaijan GP ...so that should take away all the remaining hype for the rest of the teams. Even in Hamilton era, the odds were not so brutal in his favor and he was around 1.40 usually so this means that RedBull car is miles away from the rest of the grid. I also still think that this season of F1 is so look alike with 2001 title run of Schumacher when he had almost 60 points in front of 2nd place and this is why I don't see anyone fighting with RedBull now or for the rest of the season.

That's funny..  I mean yeah, Verstappen clearly wins the next race judging from what we've seen so far but in F1, there's always that chance that another car hits you at the starting lap or some technical problem happens.  We just never know.  And for the line being at 1.20 makes it obvious that the books don't want us to bet on Verstappen...  Was Hamilton ever lined at 1.20 before the race during his days of dominance?

Edit:  Jfc...  The line for Verstappen is priced at 1.12 now with Perez next at 14.  I think there's some value with Hamilton at 21 as the long break could've helped Merc figure some of their sht out.
1347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: April 19, 2023, 12:55:06 PM

Yeah Holloway's camp prolly thinks that a spectacular win against TKZ, somebody he can finish, would give him another shot at the title.  And it's good from the fans' perspective...  Two vets of the game fighting each other.  But really it doesn't make sense as TKZ is ranked lower than the top 5.  Yair Rodriguez is the interim champ at 145 but Holloway already beat him a tad over a year ago and it would be unfair for Rodriguez if he wasn't given the title shot next.

So yeah it's either that or Holloway just wants to fight somebody he hasn't fought before.  He already fought the top guys at 145 and lost only vs Volk.

Here's a replay of Pavlovich...  Enjoy.

For me, the top 8 in that Division doesn't really stand a chance against Max Holloway if the fighter is not much technical as Volkanovski then he doesn't stand a chance against Holloway's boxing, I just thought that Allen could be faster and aggressive enough to beat Holloway, but because Arnold Allen Idolized Max Holloway so much there is not a chance for him winning, for me if Ilia Topuria can make it on the top 5 he could surely make a chance against Max Holloway for sure,

Lol.

...I also missed ARB which is a disappointment. Today I don't really anticipate much on airdrop as I realized that most of those airdrops are just speculations from the public and those "influencers".

I think there will be many more disappointments waiting for you when you see once Layerzero, zkSync, Starknet and Arbitrum Nova generously distributing airdrop. I believe that it is necessary to perform at least a minimum of interactions with these networks in order not to experience Fomo later.

Yup...  A lot of people in the community seemed to have missed the current meta.  2022 - 2023's airdrops are the 2016 - 2017's ICO's.  If you wanna get in projects early, airdrops are a way to go these days.  It's all about sweat equity.  And it's good as we'll all know that the project already has a working product to goof around and test with.  And the good thing is you get plus points if you report a bug and for helping out.

Anyway, trying to get in Layer Zero's airdrop is a must and why not use Rage Trade while you're at it as it's built on Layer Zero.

I'm not all that interested in the Korean Zombie vs Max Holloway call out. I think Max wins that quite convincingly. Sadly, Korean Zombie hasn't been the same fighter as he used to be, and you can tell he's aging. Whereas, Max is still relatively fresh for his age. I think it would be too one sided, and ultimately lead to a lot of damage for The Korean Zombie. Pretty easy bet though, if they make the odds at least 1.50 for Max.

I agree For me The Korean Zombie is not the same anymore, it is likely he doesn't have a tough chin anymore but there is an improvement in his technique, and likely he now is more on a technical approach with his opponent now, and yeah he is not the same Korean Zombie now 1 punch and he will likely be out that quite easy,

I agree about Verstappen's being more skilled than Leclerc in Formula 1 right now. Maybe we haven't seen Ferrari being able to give a car without problems or having a good season without simple tactical mistakes. But it doesn't mean that Leclerc was still amazing despite that. Leclerc also made some individual mistakes which he accepted it every time. Verstappen is not a perfect driver of course but he is close to that.  Grin

Because I don't see him making that kind of mistakes much. It is very rare thing for him. I don't think this would change for him even if he starts driving a much slower car. Yes maybe he is driving the fastest car which has a big role in his being comfortable about winning championships. But people still shouldn't be unfair to him I think.

Because he isn't an unskilled driver who can do a good job with only a very fast car. He can push to the limit in every car he drives.

Just right now?  Nah man...  Verstappen is has always been more skilled than Leclerc.

And Verstappen wasn't always a near perfect driver.  You should watch him when he was 18 years old.  Lmaooo.  He was like a danger to all the other drivers around him.  It's like you feel everybody on the grid didn't want to start the race side by side with him because he's a serious accident waiting to happen.  Lol.

There was even a rule named after him.  The Verstappen rule.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

^  Chelsea tho...  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

What is going on up there?  The supporters are prolly making songs chanting Boehly Out at every home match. Lol.  What manager would be wanting to take the job at their current state?  I could see Lampard being given the role during the summer as they could have a hard time looking for a decent manager...  Unless they could tempt somebody like Zidane and offer him good money, which prolly they wouldn't do, and a huge transfer budget which prolly they shouldn't do.

I think staying with Lampard could be a wise choice for the sole purpose of rebuilding the squad.  They shouldn't be looking for their Pep..  They should be looking for their Arteta imho.
You know they were bad when Kepa is their best player and they conceded two goals. Brighton is good team and playing super exciting football this season but team like Chelsea shouldn't allow any opponent to have 26 goal attempts, almost like they were playing handball  Grin

@igebotz maybe time for new manager? You can't buy players outside of transfer window but you can managers. I am thinking Boehly has no idea what to do with his new toy and he is doing something just for the sake of doing.

Lots of strange results today, what is worse I predicted surprises in couple of those games but went with more safe draws instead of outright wins for underdogs.

Kepa had a season when he was pretty good tho...  The year when they won the UCL.  The sample size is small but at the time his stats were as good as the top keepers, prolly even better.  Not sure what's going on with him now as I've been following the EPL less and less.  I'd assume it was Tuchel who had done a good job making him improve.  I guess check and compare his stats on goals conceded under Tuchel and under Potter.

What the new owners should do...  Do an Abramovich and issue a blank check.  Grin

Main event at first glance and by just looking at the match up at Tapology, I pick Blaydes.  But then remembering how he got slept by Lewis a year ago, I'm thinking Pavlovich could be live here.  Not gonna bet it tho.

In the other match ups in the roster, I think Song Yadong vs Simon is interesting, Green vs Gordon, Wells vs Semelsberger and Rani Yahya vs Montel Jackson...  The rest are not really that good.

I always see the latest news about the zksynch airdrop, I do what I can, but I don't really expect too much whether this will qualify for the airdrop or not, but at least I have done several interactions with the zksynch ecosystem in this era, actually it is still being done so that the number of volumes what I did was big but I will continue to do it to try if later they have lowered the airdrop next year.

But I don't know if this will be the next ARB? still an unknowing one, but I did bridge on a few other projects.

Yup, with all these airdrops being a thing, a lot of people have started getting into them in droves.  Just as they did with Sui.  If you go look around their Discord there are a lot of people spamming the channels.  It's so obvious that those are bots just to get their server activity up.  And the testnet too...  The activity numbers are so gamed.

So yeah just as I guessed...  Sui will not have an airdrop.  Lmao.  I see a lot of crying online.

Anyway try using Syncswap in zkSync...  There's word going around they're going to airdrop too.  Just fool around and provide some liquidity in one of their pools.
1355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: April 16, 2023, 02:43:03 PM
Did he really use the word 'lie'..?  Could be using the wrong word there as mostly these proposals for new specs, esp huge spec changes, are just good on paper.  It's up to the teams to implements the designs and if they're not 'up to spec' in practice then what could anybody really do.

And Hamilton just mad cos Mercedes couldn't figure stuff out with the new specs.  Typical whining from him.

Well in the translated interview I've read yes.
But who knows if they changed the words, they do it often to generate flame and get clicks.

Ah yeah..  'Lie' is too strong of a word.  I think a more apt translation is 'wrong'...  Like if the amount dirty air at the back of the cars is still the same as the pre 2022 specs, then yeah..  FIA really got it wrong.  The whole reason for the 2022 car spec was to drastically reduce the dirty air so the cars could pass each other with less difficulty.

It will prolly be another three years for the current specs?
1356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: April 16, 2023, 02:37:29 PM
^  Yeah...  Allen just needed to be a little more aggressive in the early rounds and the match would've been a tad closer and it would've justified the bet on Allen.  As is Holloway got him by sheer volume alone.  But to his credit, he was a bit faster than Allen

I'm pretty disappointed with TJ Brown.  He had the fight until he didn't.  He got a bit careless and threw a wild punch which Algeo anticipated and countered with an elbow.  I guess a fighter does things like that when fatigue starts to creep in.  Brown doesn't have good cardio.
1357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: New L1 and L2 chains launching in 2023 on: April 15, 2023, 04:28:20 PM
Yes there are lots of these chains coming out because nobody wants to use ETH because transactions are expensive and nobody wants to use CEX because of what happened to FTX.

So Defi is definitely the future and hence why these chains are being developed. The issue is that they are rushed and have lots of bugs. Even a few days ago Sushi swap had a bug and over $3M was stolen. And it will get worse with these new chains and smart contracts if they are all badly coded and rushed for launched.

I wouldn't say 'nobody', cos it's exactly why fees are high because a lot of people wants to use Ethereum but then it prices out the little guys, so it gave the rise to L2's.

Right now Arbitrum is the best L2 for Ethereum and from a trading perspective, might be the leveraged bet for ETH.  And in turn the projects that received the biggest airdops of ARB could be the leveraged bet for Arbitrum.  Not sure if I'm right but it's something to look out for.  Wink

An interesting interview was done with Halimton.

He has spoken about different things but this one is the most relevant to me.

He basically said F1 lied about getting clean air while following close another car with this generation of cars, he said the air is not clean and the car behind suffers anyway.

Did he really use the word 'lie'..?  Could be using the wrong word there as mostly these proposals for new specs, esp huge spec changes, are just good on paper.  It's up to the teams to implements the designs and if they're not 'up to spec' in practice then what could anybody really do.

After watching the weigh ins and the face offs, I think the event could be underdog city.  Possible underdogs that could get the W are Allen, Barboza, Boser, Guida, TJ Brown, Royval, Herman and Vannata.  I'm not doing a greasy parlay this weekend.  I'll prolly just make a couple of single bets with Royval, Brown and Vannata.  Mind you...  I make small bets for fun so NFA.

Here are the weigh in results.

Max Holloway (146) vs Arnold Allen (146)
Edson Barboza (146) vs Billy Quarantillo (146)
Dustin Jacoby (206) vs Azamat Murzakanov (205)
Tanner Boser (203) vs Ion Cutelaba (206)
Chris Gutierrez (136) vs Pedro Munhoz (136)
Rafa Garcia (155) vs Clay Guida (154,5)
Bill Algeo (146) vs TJ Brown (146)
Matheus Nicolau (126) vs Brandon Royval (126)
Zak Cummings (206) vs Ed Herman (206)
Gillian Robertson (116) vs Piera Rodriguez (116)
Lando Vannata (156) vs Daniel Zellhuber (156)
Bruna Brasil (116) vs Denise Gomes (115)
Gaston Bolanos (136) vs Aaron Phillips (136)
