1441  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Planning on sell my watch collection online, how could I offer BTC payment? on: February 01, 2020, 10:04:09 PM
Also is more attractive for me to get paid this way because I don't have to worry about maybe having to explain to the authorities why I have four or five transfers of couple of thousand each, from different guys.

You can create a new bank account solely for the purposes of your transactions related to your business. And I wouldn't worry about the authorities breathing down my neck because of it as long as I have the records of a business transaction had taken place when it comes to the exchange of goods for cash, receipts are ideal but records of negotiations and bank transactions as well as proof that the product exist can be sufficient for you if you are asked about it. You might even be at more risks if you tried to mask your business transactions via Bitcoin and don't report any earnings at all. As long as the business is legal and you are paying tax I don't think you have to worry about anything at all.
1442  Economy / Reputation / Re: Murat the worst campaign manager? on: February 01, 2020, 08:49:18 PM
You may say I'm biased since I'm part of the campaign but I was one of the first members that got accepted and ever since one user have posted his opinion about accepting inactive members that has merit murat actually listened and removed them all. Even if you say you have created a reputation thread against him before doing this, the point is he listened and have removed them and replace them with new members. Other than that it is his campaign and he manages the promotion of that project he has in his every right who will be part of the campaign or not, signature campaigns are not some kind of democracy where if your account wasn't selected it will suddenly become unfair because they have accepted others. And as far as for his future campaigns will go, I think he will learn from this situation and start accepting members who are actually active in the forum.
1443  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Newly Launched Peer to Peer Marketplace!! on: January 30, 2020, 08:53:03 PM
There is nothing revolutionary with what you are offering, to be frank your site looks like it will be going to fail in no time. You are like one of those new exchanges who thinks that they are unique yet they are in fact offering a much worse service compared to the already existing ones. For me to see that you are just masking the fees to make it look like your service is free with a paid membership is really wrong, there is really nothing revolutionary about that. It just makes it harder for you to enter the market in this way since it would really be unappealing to any potential clients that will visit your site.
1444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 30, 2020, 06:56:00 PM
So a Bundesliga team, Hertha Berlin, made two of the biggest transfers this January transfer window. With them signing Krzysztof Piatek and Lucas Tousart they spend a total of around 52 million euros to sign those two players from Milan and Lyon respectively. And to be honest I really don't know who their team even is and how they made such a whopping transfer a day before the deadline. I know they made this transfer to prevent from being relegated but I just can't figure it out on where did they get their money from, anyone knows who owns/manages Hertha Berlin?

1446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Podcasts about crypto on: January 29, 2020, 09:13:07 PM
I actually built a list of over 150 recent relevant crypto podcasts. I was thinking of putting this directory on a website or app for curating, ratings or reviews. Crypto content especially audio has its benefits. Anyone else see a scalable use case?

That kind of curator content is something not suitable to be put on a stand-alone website, you would basically have no viewers for it as the market is too small, even crypto news curator websites have little to no interest in them. These types of list are much suitable too be placed in forum like websites like BCT or Reddit where you can target specific people who already have interest in what you are offering. A list of crypto related podcasts can be put on threads like the Bitcoin discussion and the Altcoin discussion section of this forum and you'll definitely have personal reviews on their own experience about this podcast.
1447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Podcasts about crypto on: January 29, 2020, 08:06:30 PM
When I always see a podcast for cryptocurrencies I always think about this post where he promoted his podcast found in spotify. After going back to it I'm surprised that it is still alive and he still have new content at least every once a week. I only watched the first three episodes but all I can say is that they never repeated the content. He also have guess speakers in the show which gives different perpectives about crypto in general. So if you yourself would be starting your own idea I think it will be good if you try to follow the footsteps of what he is doing or in general be interesting like what other podcasts have been doing. Remember podcasts are still new and the crypto industry is still considered as a small market so don't expect to have thousands of followers.
1448  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling an app for BTC on: January 29, 2020, 06:12:39 PM
3) After receiving the money, will it be hard to convert my money to fiat on my bank account?
4) What are the withdrawal limits and exchange fees?

^If we are only talking about Bitcoin payments here and being able to liquidate it after, you wouldn't have any problems with it as long as your country has labeled legal to be traded/own and you have buyers for that Bitcoin or you have 3rd party wallets that can convert it directly to cash then you will have that cash in no time.

1) Is this method safe and the site reliable?
2) Can this be part of a scam and if yes, how?

However on this one where the buyer ask you to sign up on something or they will be the one introducing you to the escrow this will be a common red flag in any scam transaction out there. Bitcoin wallets should be coming from your own choosing as well as an escrow that is trusted or at least neutral to both parties. Them controlling the escrow part or what kind of wallet you have only means a scam will just go down in your transaction.
1449  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Localbitcoins bans whole countries on: January 28, 2020, 08:35:44 PM
I would accept this KYC requirement if they have announced it prior to the freezing of the accounts like they have given more time for the users to move around their funds, but what they did is something like a scam ICO project would do where all of the sudden they'll be asking for KYC before they receive payment for the bounty or receive the token/crypto they have bought. It some kind of ambush where the users really have no choice but to comply or else their money would be loss. I know that companies in the crypto industry such as Localbitcoin needs to comply with enhance KYC requirements for them to be able to operate in these countries but a surprise like this for their users is simply unacceptable in any way.
1450  Economy / Economics / Re: Are 401ks / ROTH IRA Safe From Bailouts? on: January 28, 2020, 06:20:23 PM
From what I know the U.S. Treasury owns money to several agencies of their own and that is including your own Department of Labor which I think handles the 401(k) accounts. The government itself cannot borrow your benefits, pension, and other plans for you when a financial crisis happens since those benefits are solely allocated to you, they can only borrow the allocated budget the agency have or if they have any excess or unused budget left lying around. Not unless there is a law where it clearly states that the US government has the power to legally steal your own retirement benefits when times like this happen there is no way I see that the government will be taking your money.
1451  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-01-23] Exchange hacks on the rise on: January 27, 2020, 09:12:53 PM
However, it is not also a remote possibility that some exchanges will be staging their own hacking to cover up problems they themselves created and of course to take away some money for themselves, and this is a big ground for a good regulation covering exchanges with the end-view of protecting the ordinary users. Exchanges must now start using an insurance system or have something like what Binance has. Personally, I don't think that any government will transfer this privilege to do business with cryptocurrency exchange exclusively to the banks, though it is quite possible that banks can be introducing a similar platform competing with what we already have around.

That some big accusation you got there, if a hack is staged or not by the exchange these event will hunt them for the rest of their business life especially the reputable ones since not only their reputation for being safe is damage the eyes of the authorities will suddenly shift towards them. If millions of dollars are loss then you know investigations like this won't only view an external problem but also internally. They would like to see all angles and they won't waste their time on a lead they don't even have so expect them to investigate them internally first before them going to other routes. Just take a look at Mt. Gox or QuadrigaCX millions of dollars are loss and until now the authorities are still breathing under their necks.
1452  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 51% Attack on: January 27, 2020, 08:18:53 PM
Being in line with your scenario, what the government would be doing is illegal. The 51% attack would mean fraud when it comes to transactions happening in Bitcoin's blockchain even the disruption of the system alone will make the government commit a crime what more if they try to double spend in some transactions? This alone would simply make them liable in several criminal things and the worst thing that could happen to them is that the international body would intervene with the sick thing they are doing. Also if they want to destroy Bitcoin and the entire industry wouldn't it be much easier for them to do it by creating unfavorable laws and regulations under their country which will be much cheaper for them to do.
1453  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam Alert - RoboBit AI - Plagiarized Whitepaper on: January 27, 2020, 06:46:58 PM
This is a official Statement
Guys, Now we can clear the all problem that had done by our web developer that was very bad. Our team members checked all things but he done some big changes in documents and website also. We banned him after we saw these news. Again I am very sorry for the mistake. Specifically to Mindsync, He made a big scam with our team and our project, sorry for he used your pics and docs.
We hate scammers and we don't scam only he scammed us. WE ARE SORRY TO EVERYONE
We recovered the website and other account that he controlled.

So which is it? A scam or a mistake? The forum has seen several reasons already all served in the same plate and there is really nothing new on blaming it on one team member hoping to get untag from their negative feedback. Changes this big wouldn't go unnoticed especially if you "checked all things" as physical changes from both your website and whitepaper is something the rest of your members has access on. But for us to be fair I don't think it will hurt us to learn more how this web developer has "scammed" you and why plagiarizing a whitepaper and changing your website is one of his motives?
1454  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2020 price predictions on: January 26, 2020, 06:57:33 PM
It's not the rare to see a lot of people after the bearish happens market happens suddenly they make bullish predictions or have high price targets that will happen in the future and more often than not they will be right. They are just taking advantage of the market cycle to increase their chances of having the right prediction. Now if Bitcoin will be suddenly pumping prices and after the market noise will disappear suddenly they will make predictions that Bitcoin will go down and they will of course be right since this is how a cycle work, it makes them look smart on what they are doing but what the general population don't know is that all this predictions are set on how the cycle will move. So do expect them to bearish after BTC have hit another stride in the market.
1455  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Windows 7 stopped product supports. Please upgrade your Windows and wallets ASAP on: January 26, 2020, 02:12:57 PM
Why are so many people hesitant to update to Windows 10?

I've used it for a few years now and never had major issues. Drivers work fine.

Windows 10 is a much improved Operating system as compare to Win 7 and I think everyone should upgrade it. For a limited time, Microsoft announced a free upgrade from win 7 to win 10. That was the best time to upgrade to latest technology.

P.S This is not a crypto related discussion and should be moved to off-topic.

I think that some members here in the thread already pointed it out. If you have a potato pc running your OS I don't think there is the point of upgrading your PC to Windows 10. If you are upgrading an OS to Windows 10 might as well upgrade your PC, a lot of people are already complaining that they are getting blue screened because the new Windows 10 OS is Ram heavy and I don't think old pcs with 8gb or less ram can handle the requirements of such OS. That's why people here are suggesting to upgrade their OS to a much lighter weight OS such as Ubuntu and Linux.
1456  Economy / Reputation / Re: 🔥 Vile Chipmixer Bounty Abuse 🔥 Probably the Biggest Con Job on Bitcointalk on: January 23, 2020, 06:54:10 PM
My friends and I naively responded to each and every one of similar slanderous accusations in the past, and the people who came after us were even facetiously declared untrustworthy by the general community; however it's very easy to see for anyone paying attention to forum dynamics that practically it led to no improvements...

I'm pretty sure that even if some members are spreading false or even true accusations to those turkish applicants Darkstar's decision would remain unbiased and he will just accept the best members of the forum applying for their campaign. Darkstar would still personally check each applications and do some background checks but mostly the one who will get that spot will be about who posts the educated and of high quality posts here in the forum. And maybe it is the main reason why the Turkish board isn't having any members part of ChipMixer.
1457  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitmain Advised to Rescind U.S. IPO Plans Due to Association with BitClub Ponzi on: January 22, 2020, 09:56:30 PM
It's either this scandal or Micree Zhan who will finally put a nail in their coffin. They won't really last in the US  market with scandals like this one especially at this very early stage and it would really be a good idea to back out their plans of a US IPO since their stock prices would just be affected at their first trading day. If they still plan to go thriugh with their IPO they need to wait this out first until they are out of the headlines so that their stock performance won't be affected.
1458  Other / Meta / Re: Policy on users like this guy? on: January 22, 2020, 08:23:43 PM
I'm not against this actually, as long as the OP is actually involved with the conversation and not just do some cheesy lines after posting the source link I think that is allowable an can't be counted as illegal advertising. It's just like how a normal member will be posting an article they found and actually got curious with some questions and need to find out more about it. However this cheezcarls guy isn't interested into having any conversation, he just wants to post the source link and ask maybe a question or your opinion in that matter but after that you won't see him replying to his thread. This is something commonly done in the Press section buy news promoters and they aren't really contributing anything to BCT, in fact they are just taking advantage of the forum for illegally promoting their website.

1460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this the right way to teach them? on: January 21, 2020, 09:08:08 PM
This kind of academy would be more effective if the people who you are trying to teach are already familiar or at least know what you are talking about. Since no one would really be interested from lessons like this even if they are free. Aside from that is your country even considered as a crypto-friendly country or are they even aware what cryptocurrencies are? Because if they aren't then teaching them about Blockchain and cryptocurrencies wouldn't matter at all since your country isn't even prepared for the changes, the teachings they will receive would be with no use when there is not adoption happening for your country. So maybe see first if your country is currently at least moving in the right direction before you start building your academy.
