Powered daw to ng PDAX.

It is a good thing to have faith in our investments especially when we have done thorough research about it.  I am also one of those people that believe Bitcoin is here to stay but have the reserve in mind that everything will eventually come to an end except if they keep on evolving to cater to the needs of the masses.

It is a good point to compare Bitcoin to the development of computers but have you thought of the fact that these old computers are obsolete and are not in circulation anymore, nor is any demand for them?  And these new batches of computers can be associated with different cryptocurrency that has the latest technology. I think the case can happen to Bitcoin.  If Bitcoin failed to develop and update itself to compete in the market, it might be overtaken by the latest technology of alternative cryptocurrency.  Remember, there is no permanent in this world but change, there is no wrong in believing about the possible achievement of Bitcoin and the profits that lie ahead in the future but we must keep ourselves vigilant and updated about the cryptocurrency market.  It doesn't hurt to have some reservations and cautiousness in dealing with Bitcoin investments, after all, it is our money we put into the Bitcoin investment and obviously we have to protect it against any kind of losses.
I got your points mate, practically i am not comparing bitcoin with those computer but rather looking at how long it took them to have these developments from 1 to 5 and above, it didn't just end there but today we have lots of AI developed that even makes our computer works more better and smarter. What i was only referencing was the time it took to process the computer from 1 to 5 can also be seen and liken for bitcoin to gradually develop and have a better stands without us being in a haste to let out of the whole market pump happened immediately without us excising patient for gradual developments and increase in price.
For one to have patient they may use the progression of computer as a case study.
Or maybe the best comparison is Internet vs Bitcoin adoption and growth throughout the years:

Source

And if we look at the chart, they have similar projections or maybe we can say that Bitcoin might be adopted faster. In the beginning we don't have any idea what Internet is, however, when we realized the big potential, companies started to build the backbone (similar to what we are seeing, exchanges, and other services related to Bitcoin) and then government adopted it (El Salvador and others). And now the impact is being felt globally, again the same why as Internet is in the mid-90s to early 2000's. Maybe your theory though is similar to Metcalfe's law.

What a game by the Warriors in the road, Steph putting up 50 points in a elimination series, it was very close till the end of the second half. But we all know that Warriors is a third quarter team and so Curry pour everything he can in that quarter and it's was easy and smooth in the fourth.

So in the West, #2,#3 was knockout in the first round.

And now it will be Lakers vs Warriors. So familiar foe indeed, James against Steph but Lebron with a different team. Good season for the Kings though, it was really though but for sure, this is a big lessons for them to go against the Warriors and lost the series.

Worth to mentioned Looney's 20+ rebounds again.

Pero ganun pa man meron pa ding risk both party Forex man yan o Cryptocurrency.

1465  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Projects Visibility (Sig Campaigns) in Bitcointalk. on: April 30, 2023, 09:42:27 PM
Just a few examples that I remember from my time here:
MyCryptoMixer.com ran a campaign for 40+ weeks but ultimately failed due to unknown reasons.
Bitamp Web Wallet ran a campaign for 28 weeks during 2020/21. The project is practically dead now as far as I can see.
Go-Overt ran a campaign for 16 weeks but failed.
YOLOdice casino campaigned for over two years but ultimately closed its doors.
MyCryptoMixer were had a serious accusation toward them and they comes up on the wrong timing because Chipmixer were dominating in that time. Go Overt were same, they can't compete against Chipmixer.

Bitamp website is still active, I can access it.

I was a participant of Yolodice, honestly they're still making profit until they closed their website because they have an investment bankroll and the graph were healthy.

There were two quite long campaign about wallet niche, they're OWNR and Wasabi wallet.

Although I don't have any proof, I don't see any campaign about wallet niche become successful Tongue most of campaign about exchange niche were either failed or not giving any good impact, except Kucoin

I don't know maybe there's nothing to improved in the wallet niche? For example, Electrum is a good solid SPV already and I doubt that it can be topple by any new or even old wallet in the market.

Same here, was part of Bustadice for a long time (4 years), but they decided to stop their campaign here. And if I'm not mistaken, they are still doing good in the market.

Time will tell how long mixers are going to stay in this community as far as signature campaign is. We all know that after CM, the field is open now, so going to be a tough niche moving forward.

Right, he is one of those OG in Bitcoin and has his own Youtube channel and other social media accounts.

https://www.youtube.com/@aantonop
https://twitter.com/aantonop

And maybe majority didn't know, just like the rest of those OG's, he has a official account here: aantonop.

But obviously, he is no longer active. However, we have the luxury to read his posts.

Andreas is the man, he made me fall even more in love with Bitcoin and opened my eyes to a lot of angles I couldn't see

Thanks for the links!

I've always wondered if he had an account on this forum, anyone know?

Yes, I have an account here, though I find the forum structure cumbersome and have not written here in a long time. Thank you for the support and kind words!

Ok I did try to ask again who is LoyceV as I wanted to see if it has improved from the last time it was queried by the OP,

So it's either it has evolved itself, Large Language Models improving by leaps and bounds, their datasets expanding. Or someone from here is feeding it.  Grin
1468  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Safest Exchanges in the World on: April 29, 2023, 11:00:49 PM
There have been suggestions about FTX within less than a year when OP asked this. And this is what's the nature of exchanges, we'll never know who's going to be the next exchange to bite the dust and that's why for OP even if we suggest you the best exchanges that we have in mind so that we save fees away from transferring in and out of our balances. It's best to be mindful when we're leaving our funds on them. There's no safe exchange anymore even if the most known and popular, you can't be sure with them if they'll be the next FTX. That's why if you happen wanting to save fees, just deposit the amount that you think will be totally fine whether it's gone or not.

Yeah, if we go back then, it seems that FTX is solid and could be one of those exchanges that you can recommend to someone. But we all know that happen with the mismanagement of SBF resulting to a total collapse. So what lessons we learn for here? There's no such thing as safest exchange, they can be under threat from hackers and criminals and even from government regulations. And worst is the the people behind is the one bring downfall to it, no one is going to see that until it's too late. So we really need to be very vigilant on how much money we left in a exchange as history tells us that it is not good practice to just let it sit here, thousands of dollars worth and then the next day, that exchanges is in troubled.
We know that there's no such thing about lasting like forever, there's always an end line for everything and would really be depending on how it would really be ending up.Just like on what mentioned it could neither be a major exploit or exchange hack or would really be also about regulation issues or from the owner itself. We've seen lots of type, i do remember about even that so popular exchange Poloniex and Bittrex.
These exchangers didnt really experienced out some hacking but rather this is a regulation problem on where it did really make that full switch up into a very heavily centralized exchange where KYC is really that mandated, until Binance do sets in. Yes, FTX is known next in line about being popular and when it comes to volume until it comes to this where filing up some bankruptcy which it did really affect out its users heavily.

Recently we do have some rumors or saying that it would be restarting.
FTX says it may restart its collapsed crypto exchange
https://www.fastcompany.com/90881156/ftx-may-relaunch-collapsed-crypto-exchange

Do we really believe that they would be able to get the same trust after all the things happened? I dont think so!
There's no such thing about safest exchange because anytime tables could turn upside down without even you knowing or been expecting for it to happen.
This is why its never been ideal on storing your funds on exchangers and making it as your main wallet.

Nah, as the saying goes "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me". It has caused a lot of pain and hardship to their investors, and we might think that the effects might be just contained to crypto markets. But I have the speculation that it could trigger chain of events, just like what we have seen as a lot of banks are also collapsing in dire need of government bail out, or simple collapses and go bankrupt.

And there are still ongoing cases against SBF and his cohorts. And then their investors or shall we say those celebrities that are tie in with SBF and FTX are not being investigated, subpoena, or worst cases being filed against them.

So it's not easy as it sounds that anyone would just reboot this exchange.
1469  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: April 29, 2023, 10:27:14 PM

As others suggested, Binance and Bybit P2P are two of the best options for now.

Or with the advent of e-wallets like Gcash and Paymaya, we have more options and might sway away from Cebuana or M Lhuillier (as far as I my experience, if you are going to be cashing out big amounts like 20k and up, you have to notify them early so that they can prepare the money).

As an Americano I can't use Binance for that purpose although I have seen the P2P to Gcash work pretty well. I have both Gcash and PayMaya, am waiting from to enable crypto deposits and trading. Someone I know here got early access to Gcash crypto and it appears to work pretty well. It seems like Gcash is limited on remittance partners tho.

Luckily Coins.ph fixed the problem and the solution is to wait 12 hours before receiving an email from Dragonpay, then I need to tell the cashier the payment is from Dragonpay. That worked the last couple times I did it. Kind of annoying but at least it works. Still can't transfer funds to other wallets, however.

Oh ok, and as suggested by @ inthelongrun, maybe you can used your girlfriends info to Binance is she is ok with that? I mean all of us here are in the consensus that Coins.ph services is somewhat distressing at some point and that's why Binance and Bybit P2P is now becoming the most used options for us in converting our BTC->PHP.

I don't have early access from Gcash crypto though, would love to try it if ever I get a chance although I'm into their other forms of investments, just to test it out.

But as times goes by, faucets stop because of the abuse. But then the first used case of BTC, gambling sites, started to implement it, but still up to this day, many users are abusing it so their account getting ban. 1471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jason Moloney vs Vincent Astrolabio WBO 118lbs Title (May 13) on: April 28, 2023, 11:59:01 PM
I think it's more of Top Rank doesn't want to work with Nonito or his handlers that time Probellum because Arum believed that their backer is a Mafia. Nonito has moved as well, Richard Schaefer bolted out of Probellum already.

And with that Moloney chooses to go on the other direction, but still have the chance to fight for the belt. However, he might still choose the wrong path as he will be facing another Filipino, maybe not as big as Nonito Donaire's name, but equally impressive fighter and rising in the ranks as well in Vincent Astrolabio. So he shouldn't feel the any advantage here, on the other hand, this could be as tough as facing Nonito because Vincent has power. So clearly, I will have Vincent here by ML since he is a slight underdog in this fight. He just need to really focus and train 100% and let's see if we will have another Filipino champion, following Tapales big win just 4 lbs higher division.
1472  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Do Kwon arrested on: April 28, 2023, 11:44:02 PM

I have a feeling that he will be extradited very soon.
And I read that he can spend another 6 months or more in a prison in Montenegro. Even the extradition of criminals from Europe to the United States can take a year or more.
And then the Montenegrin authorities will act according to the circumstances and try to keep such a rich scammer on their territory for as long as possible. My theory still has a right to exist until Do Kwon is extradited.

Not sure if that is the best move for the Montenegrin authorities. I mean what will they get from keeping Do Kwon in their prison? So it's better for them to really extradite him, it's just the question on who is going to get him first, US or South Korea? Both countries has made a official request already. So let's see, because it seems that they are keen on prosecuting Do Kwon first, forged documents and after he served his sentenced, he might be extradited.

S.Korea, US seeking extradition of crypto entrepreneur Do Kwon -Montenegro.
1473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It Won't Be Long. on: April 28, 2023, 11:31:16 PM
On the contrary, why not really face the fact, if you want to really get a big profit in our investment in Bitcoin, it's going to be painful, long and you need to have a lot of mental toughness along the way. Just think of it HODLing it long for at least one full bear/bull cycle, and that is going to be 4 long painful years. There will be obvious challenges that sometimes you want to sell your stash because the price is going down hard. But you keep on grinding hard, accumulating in the bear market, DCA weekly/monthly and then staying in the game. And after that, we enter the bull run and that's where all our hardship is going to pay off. Those sleepless nights, the stress and pressure are now gone. So I will suggest to really have that resilience inside of us and soon we will be rewarded. Delayed gratification is the key.

Maraming paalala ang Coins regarding the Sim registration.

1475  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the current economic waiting now its Money printimg on: April 28, 2023, 10:50:51 PM
OP is right about that printing. The US government had one chance of taming inflation and that whole strategy relied on scaring people into hoarding money. They failed and all statistics are showing this. People are still spending and all the FED managed to do was bankrupt banks. People aren't dumb they saw 2 things in the last year.
1. The FED is incompetent and doesn't control inflation.
2. Since the banks are going down, it means the FED will have to help them and print, so it's a good idea to keep spending.
Also, it's a bad idea to keep money in banks since they could go bust.

Exactly, if they will just to continue to print money just to pay their debts then it's all wrong. Printing money is not the solution, on the contrary, inflation is going to rise, just like what we are seeing in the US right now. And now people are withdrawing their money from banks because it will just lose it's value overtime. So what happens is that we will have a bank ran, and that is what we are seeing right now. Banks are falling one by one and governments are trying to salvage them.

As for us? well we have a safe-haven, in BTC and perhaps other solid altcoins as a hedge. But what about individuals who don't know what to do right now in the worsening economic fall-out resulting in money printing? So that's where the problems lies, people are going to be affected negatively.

1477  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will April be a red month? on: April 28, 2023, 10:11:50 PM
I just don't understand why there are people asking questions like this about the future price of Bitcoin or crypto. Why, is there anyone in human history who has gone to the future and returned to the present time?

Everyone knows that the price of altcoins and bitcoins is unpredictable, that's why there are fluctuations that happen in the market, why are these things still being asked? if you believe it will increase, just hold it, now if you think the moon will be red like this, sell the coins you hold, it's that simple to understand.

Also remember that Bitcoin initially was designed to be a payment system by Satoshi, it's just it become an assets so we trade them just like the rest of the assets class in which we have exchange to see how the price is doing or how it's volatility. And with that everyone has it's own wild educated guess because it's either we trade obviously, or invest on it, hoping for a nice profits in the future.

The hope that april will skyrocket and close to recovery turned out to be wrong, 2 more days april will end and it doesn't seem like it will be able to make any big surprises, today the price could go up 1.5% but it doesn't look like there will be a big price change in april.

Majority was wrong I would say, we thought that April was going to be a good month, or at least with the levels on how the first 3 months went, prices going up. Although we just had a couple of days before the end of this month, at $29k++ is still very good. It's another roller roaster ride this April for us, going as high as $31k, and then a flash crash to $27k before bouncing back again. So maybe in the remaining days, it could potentially go to $30k.

For example, suppose I transfer a BTC worth 0.00023 to another address and the transaction is completed, but I later realize that it was sent to the wrong address or that I sent in excess to the next address owing to human shortcomings, after which I can't reach out to the recipient directly.

Does this imply that I have lost my BTC and will never be able to reverse or recover it?

Is there no way or platform to reverse erroneous transactions, especially when the reasons are genuine?

Bitcoin transactions are irreversible, you can read the reasoning of Satoshi in the Whitepaper, specially in the "Introduction".

1479  Economy / Economics / Re: First Republic Bank fall: fear of more others to follow. on: April 27, 2023, 11:54:50 PM
If the banks are capable to pay out all the deposits to the people, who want to withdraw them, there's nothing to worry about.
The real problem will appear, when the banks don't have any money to pay their depositors. It seems that First Republic Bank is handling the situation very well. It's normal for the banks to start facing difficulties. The interest rate hikes are intended to drive the financial sector into stagnation. This will lower the inflation and the economy will stop depending on the money printing machine(at least for a while).
The key word here is "if". The very architecture of the modern banking system is such that not a single bank in the world can withstand the "raid of depositors." Typically, banks' reserve requirements for equity capital do not exceed 10-15% (and this is an optimistic estimate). No one knows how many paper unrealized losses that arose after a sharp rise in the key rate are in reality on the balance sheets.

Right, and the first one that are withdrawing are just average and ordinary Joe, I don't think that individuals that have millions on the banks are the one starting this bank runs. And when banks are overwhelm with this massive withdrawals, they will have to act fast, maybe selling their bonds immediately to cover it in time.

And I have also the same reasons that the Fed interest rate hikes could have affected or one of the factors. Perhaps depositors doesn't want their money sitting on banks because it will not earn them any. So we might as well withdraw it and put it to other assets like crypto.
