1501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Extons Exchange| Secure Cryptocurrency Trading Platform on: July 25, 2020, 07:57:39 PM
now more and more trading platforms hopefully Exchange Extons will be able to compete with other exchanges

Competition is very tough among crypto exchanges but if the exchange can offer at least one advantage over the others, traders may see their platform and may start trading on them. Starting is really a very difficult phase for every exchange as they need to attract traders and they have no good liquidity to offer yet. What they can do is run massive marketing campaigns, give rewards or promos to new traders, maybe run trading competitions and the likes. So which translates to the fact that a new exchange needs funds to have these programs in place.
1502  Economy / Exchanges / Re: in your opinion what would make you try to use a new cryptocurrency exchange? on: July 25, 2020, 07:23:05 PM
I have a feeling you want to start your own crypto exchange, well, imo i think option 'a' is impossible, 'b' and 'c' are not important to exchange users, and the last two options are more of what can allure users to use a new crypto exchange, but that being said, you're not going to get quite a lot of users who will want to trust a new exchange with their funds.

He should include if the cryptoexchange has license, I think that's one of the important things to consider when setting up a legit exchange. Every exchange can say that your funds are secure but they having nothing to prove it yet. Only time will tell about the reputation of the exchange, the longer it is operating without problems, the better.
1503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: July 25, 2020, 01:21:18 PM
I sold my GOLD's today at https://gold.storage/en/market. Everything went smooth. All transactions only takes 3 minutes (includes 2x 12 confirmations on ethereum blockchain). Gold market is enaugh for buying/selling GOLD, so we dont need exchanges. Thank you @GOLD_official.

I believe this is one of the gold-backed projects that is pretty doing well in terms of development and maintaining its market value. Even though they have their own exchange, they manage to sustain its value according to the gold market. But how are they generating income here? If they have their gold holdings along with their tokens, how are they maintaining their operations?

Dear tippytoes,

The company's profit consists of two ways
1. The 1% annual fee from the GOLD token holders

2. Floating spread between GOLD token buy and sell prices in our marketplace.

Regards,
Support Team @ Digital Gold
https://gold.storage

Thanks for answering my question. I do agree that you will generate income from the floating spread alone just like any other crypto exchanges. This strategy is very common upon using your local crypto exchange, the bitcoin price is way below than the global market price so that's how these local crypto exchanges can easily gain profit. However, in your case, I think it's not that much of a spread because we are talking the price of gold. But in any case, I'm glad that you sustain your operations and one of the solid gold-backed projects here.

This coin has been in existence for more than 2 years already, so I am assuming there are few shops that are already accepting your coin. Do you have the list of these shops, if there's any?

1505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥[ANN][FIRE] FIREBALL- FULLY DECENTRALIZED AUTONOMOUS PROJECT 🔥 on: July 25, 2020, 06:30:35 AM
ANNOUNCEMENT:

Fireball (FIRE) now trading on Catex Exchange.

https://www.catex.io/trading/FIRE/ETH

-

Not bad for a new token. I've seen a lot of tokens that have not been listed in the exchange. But this one didn't take a month to be in Uniswap and Catex. But you need to fast track your developments like your gaming site so people will be interested to trade your token. Strike while the iron is hot!
1506  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why bitcoin never a ponzi on: July 25, 2020, 05:22:31 AM
One of the best articles on the matter has in our opinion been written by Ray Dillinger, who has been working with Satoshi before the public launch of the protocol.

Quote
"He wasn't trying to line his own pockets at the expense of others. In fact I don't think I've ever encountered someone so completely uninterested in personal wealth. You know the old saw about being able to get a lot done if you don't care who gets the credit? Satoshi doesn't want the credit. Two years later he walked away and left the pseudonym behind. And hard as this may be to believe, it looks like he doesn't even want to be paid for it. As far as we can tell he mined approximately a million Bitcoins and has never sold a single one of them.

The first anonymous multibillionaire is being absolutely hardcore about demonstrating to the world that he is not ripping anybody off. He is not even using his privileged early-miner position for personal gain. Just stop and think about that for a minute, before you go on."

https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/id-known-what-we-were-starting-ray-dillinger/

We also translated this article into Vietnamese due to its outstanding quality and importance once historians look deeper into the origins of Bitcoin  Smiley :

https://news.bitcoinvn.io/bitcoin-neu-toi-biet-nhung-gi-chung-ta-da-bat-dau/

That explains why Satoshi will be a mystery for quite a long long time. Unless, someone will uncover his identity by serendipity. Bitcoin will never be a ponzi because the creator is not greedy. So there's really no way CSWright is what he claims to be. Because he wants all the attention and recognition.
1507  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The U.S. Senate is hearing about the digital dollar. on: July 25, 2020, 02:44:15 AM
The U.S. Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Subcommittee on Economic Policy conducted a hearing on “Winning the Economic Competition” between China and the U.S. on Wednesday.
The U.S. must be closely monitoring China's own CBDC development, and they are going to respond with the digital dollar; I don't think any of this countries want their CBDC to be like bitcoin or are creating it because of the bitcoin. This imo is purely political and a way of improving their economy. Since the digital dollar/yuan is not decentralized, so it's not like it's an alternative to the bitcoin.

What I'm foreseeing is that the competition is going to be between the CBDC's of the different countries about to launch them and not bitcoin, it'll be interesting to see how they are going to use it, and it's goals.

Definitely it will not compete with bitcoin as this digital dollar is a centralized one and controlled by the government. As others have said, it is like USDT. However, USDT is not owned by the government so they need to create one that is totally controlled by the government. I believe with the launch of these digital coins owned by the government, there will be an increase in crypto adoption. And once those users realized the advantages of bitcoin over this centralized coin, they can just switch easily to any crypto as they are already equip with knowledge on how to use it.
1508  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Can you buy a token simply by sending money or crypto to a contract address? on: July 25, 2020, 12:52:49 AM
Would it work if I sent money or crypto from my crypto wallet to a contract address? Would it automatically send me back the token that I wanted to exchange for?  Because sometimes its hard to find tokens on exchanges or swap/exchange websites.

By the way, a contract address is where the token is located. Its like a wallet address.

Is this what you mean?

1) You want a token but you can't find it on exchange
2) You will send the money/crypto instead of the token's contract address and have the equivalent of it to be sent to you automatically.

If yes, then that won't work. It's always a reminder to never send money to a contract address. Those you see wherein someone sending a token in a contract address is to execute the token swap for example and that's automatic. The one that transfers here is the token itself and not the actual money.

And out of curiosity, why bother purchasing this kind of tokens that isn't listed on the exchange? There is no liquidity so I doubt you will gain profit from it. You can also look at some decentralized exchange as it might have an active market there like for example Etherdelta for ERC20 tokens (if not listed, you can manually input it).

I guess, he is really a newbie when it comes to tokens. You can't send money to the contract address as goinmerry explained. Your money will be lost. Unless, the team gave that specific address where to send the payment like eth and in exchange they will give you the corresponding amount of their tokens to your eth address. But there will be instructions attached to it or form to be filled up. But if there is no prior agreement, I don't think what the OP is asking here is possible.

Or can the OP be more specific? So we know how to address your situation.
1509  Economy / Economics / Re: Korea proposes 20% tax on crypto trading starting 2021 on: July 24, 2020, 11:13:59 PM
It's very high! 20% tax on crypto trading will hurt a trader even if Korea will use it to help their economic status.  It means the 20%tax will less to your total asset everytime you're going to cash out. It's not good because you will fee a high amount for transaction then additional fee for tax. Very difficult to the part of trader.

Maybe they can still lobby to decrease the percentage of tax here as it is only proposed at the moment. Really not favourable to their traders. A lot of us are still enjoying  free tax but seems that S. Korea is fast tracking about this regulation. I hope they can reduce the number here because this may give them the reason not to use crypto.
1510  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US-China Tension and COVID-19 on: July 24, 2020, 10:42:53 PM
@ OP, first and foremost, you need to add the reference of the data that you posted here. Different sites, different figures.

And also, both countries are already having their respective human trials with the covid vaccine. So it is only a matter of time when will it be released to public consumption. However, we can't tell the exact time of this. But as much as possible, they are racing to provide the potent one.
1511  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Coronavirus + Prisons on: July 24, 2020, 10:20:53 PM
Some inmates that have minor cases are being released in some advanced countries. while in Africa nobody cares about the prisoners if the virus will affect or kill them, not minding that they are also our loved ones trapped behind walls, who need help, because the virus has no boundaries,  I read about prisons in the amazon deriving funds from inmates to pay $4 for treatment or checkup before they will be issued with hand sanitizers and facemasks, but the government is supposed to make free provisions for them because they labour too with their sweat and energy.
We should'nt forget the prisoners they are human beings serving capital punishments. What could be the best healthcare provision for the prisoners?

Here in our country, that scenario is too suspicious, the authorities said that those high profile inmates died from Covid-19 and yet they don't release any proof of that report. They just release the news regarding that, and they just leave the public hanging with their so called "fake drama".

As a citizen of that country, we need to find the truth, we want to be aware of those events.

The public said that, "maybe they just used the Covid-19 diseases as an escape goat to really escape the prison".

I hope that our government is not hiding something from us and using the Covid-19 to do dubious things.

There is also a news here regarding those 18 positive cases in one of an urban city in this country. They said that 9 of them are inmates and the other 9 are personnel, the government should also be aware and focus on the happening inside the prisons as they are really congested their and the rate of transmission of the virus could possibly fast.

This will really be a good scapegoat from those high profile inmates to get out from prison. If the prison staffs are corrupt, they will accept bribe money and put a show that they are dead because of Covid. And since they need to be cremated afterwards or buried immediately without being seen in public, there will be conspiracy theories that may arise from this situation. I hope this will not be the case with those high profile inmates with huge stash of money. But the possibility is actually high from happening.
1512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Monolith - the first decentralized ruble stablecoin on: July 24, 2020, 09:59:46 PM
Monolith Whitepaper is Plagiarized
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5264296

We are fork of MakerDAO. So where is plagiarism here if we are officially positioned as a fork?

wow are you gonna try copy all MakerDAO content to? you should understand what is " fork " means , its doesn't means you can copy everything include whitepaper from the forked project, there is alot project that copying MakerDAO project concept but atlease be creative with your own project whitepape, what is the purpose of having a team if you only able to stealing other project contents, i dont need the team for that. Be Creative or getting red trust. Tongue

The Monolith team should rectify this plagiarized whitepaper and with the red trust that he's getting, potential investors will be discouraged to check this project. Since it is obvious that they copied their whitepaper, then, what's new on this project? I hope this is not another Russian scam.
1513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]⭐[ICO] Pixby - Where Creativity Is Rewarded 💰 [Private Pre-Sale] on: July 24, 2020, 09:28:18 PM
the 3rd Pixby token burn is complete now!
60.000.000 was destroyed Grin
https://etherscan.io/tx/0x68928b0aed12399bec8f683f27104dada928b73eba129fae70ff9282ead33bc2
then what about the price of PIXBY now after being burned? does the price of the token increase or still have the same price as before? sorry I ask because I didn't follow the development of this project

Based from their trading chart, it seems that their price improve but if you are an investor, you have to follow closely because the increase may be only few weeks and may go down again. But seems that they are doing good for the moment.

1514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia legalizing Bitcoin and cryptos but not allowed as payment method? on: July 24, 2020, 08:51:25 AM
Can't say it's surprising. They know they can't BAN the p2p trading as much as they'd like to, so smart move to legalize it so they can tax it anyway. They know that most people will be using it to trade anyway, and don't want the headache of having to regulate and mediate businesses that use crypto or as securities so happy to just regulated trading.

I think there's no problem with that. If they don't want to use crypto as payment method, the crypto user can just convert his crypto to fiat. And then, just use that fiat for payment, right? So at least they are not banning the usage of bitcoin or crypto. Because that would be their disadvantage if they will totally ban it. Their citizens need this especially during this crisis.
1515  Economy / Economics / Re: Doing an essay on Bitcoin, need ideas on: July 24, 2020, 08:15:49 AM
I see you're a computer science student, then maybe you should focus on the technicalities of bitcoin. Start your essay on the history of bitcoin and how was it made and have a transition to the technical side of it.
  • Programming
  • Blockchain
  • Mining
  • Future of blockchain
  • Applications of blockchain
  • How will affect the modern technology
I hope this helps you, I guess your professor will look about it, not just about the history and definition of terms about bitcoin. Since you're a computer related student, you should discuss and write the part that isn't common and not can be write by a non-computer-related course student.

I noticed that the OP created this thread way back in 2015. So I am assuming the OP already graduated as it was almost 5 years ago. I don't know if people here check the date of thread creation and just give their insights regarding this topic. Also, the OP was last active in April 2016. So I don't think he will still read all these valuable suggestions.
1516  Other / Politics & Society / Re: POLL: November 2020 Trump or Biden? on: July 24, 2020, 05:04:19 AM
But what about the beloved Kanye West? America's savior from bad politicians.

I am for Trump, I like his methods and his behavior. However, apparently, his rating is not as high as before, due to all the crises that have fallen on him.

kanye west will save america  from biden, i support him campaigning.

Are you serious about this or just being sarcastic? When I first read that West wants to bid the presidency, it is like, I was thinking, is he serious or he just lost himself? Is it the reason why he had this religious stunts and drama in the previous years? Anyway, I am still for Trump the second time around.
1517  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you feel safe going outside? on: July 23, 2020, 11:50:47 PM
It's causing a lot of stress when I get back home. Wondering if I somehow inhaled it from someone, only feeling relief many days later when no symptoms developed.
Mostly people worried when they get home if they are infected already. This covid19 is really hard to defeat our enemy is invisible. The best thing that we can do is always wear mask, do not touch your face when going outside and if will going home you should sanitize everything you wear. This stress added to our health so keep safe.

Yes, to be honest, every time I go outside, it's like I'm paranoid about my surroundings. Because those people that you encounter, you don't know them and their history. So yes, protect yourself as much as you can and go outside your home only if necessary. Better be safe than sorry.
1518  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The real education are not taught at school!! on: July 23, 2020, 11:22:05 PM
In EU there are plenty of public school for free. I think that millennials don't have enough respect to appreciate what they can possibly learn e.g. computer science. Sure what is taught on these universities is just first step. Life is like decision path and who can better decide is winner.

They still need education from school, as they can learn the basic foundation that will help them survive. Yes, the real education is not taught at school but those things learned in school will mould those individuals to the right path. But to survive in our harsh world, we need more than books and learnings from the four corners of the school. Education from school is just the beginning to face the real world.
1519  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does using trading Bots is more profitable than conventional trading? on: July 23, 2020, 10:50:59 PM
I will not give any suggestions about this because since you have a knowledge of trading I assume that you aren't a newbie on the crypto field, I guess you already know what is the pros and cons of using crypto trading bot.

But that is a good question as well because we know that being a trader should always give your time facing on your computer. A trading bot is an answer to that question but it doesn't you let your trading bot works for you, of course, it needs you to command and the trading bot will execute to that command.

Do simple research of pros and cons, and it's up to you if you will use bot. Gunbot is gained a lot of reputation here I can suggest that for you.

I definitely agree with you here. The OP himself can answer this question. I guess by now, he already experienced the pros and cons of using a trading bot vs manual trading. So it is on his prerogative whether using trading bot will be on his advantage. But if he is trading new alts, better do the trading personally.

"Understanding Ycash" is a new series of articles that will discuss the brief history, current status, and future of the Ycash digital currency. The first article has just been published: "Understanding Ycash, Part 1: Why Ycash?" https://link.medium.com/i6QCjiaGl8

Dev, can you update your OP with your important links like your website, explorer and current exchanges? Because that is the first thing that users will check on your project. Last time that I encountered this thread, you only have like couple of exchanges, now you have 4. Seems that you are progressing here.
