The tricky thing about SMS spoofing is when scammers are able to use the same sender ID of a legitimate service, and making their malicious SMS placed within the authentic ones.

Take a look at singpost (postal service in singapore) phishing incident years ago (article source)

Lesson is to don't put absolute trust on anything and always triple check.
1702  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is BTC.D messed up on tradingview for anyone else? on: May 17, 2021, 10:09:22 AM
Try to also access the chart after logging out of your account. If it looks fine, this could be an account only problem.
1703  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchanges with "sign in attempts" texts? on: May 16, 2021, 06:13:23 PM
I think email notifications should be triggered too, try to search for the IP address in your email accounts.

Another possibility is it could be a scam sms, maybe a follow sms might come after trying to scare you with the login attempts like "secure your account now (insert phishing link)

In any case, I would try to change the passwords of my important accounts just to be sure.
1704  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Btc recovery on: May 16, 2021, 02:45:08 PM
The second screen shot shows the url

It's too pixelated op, not enough to confirm if you're in the correct site. Try to take a screenshot in your PC.

What bothers me in your screenshots is both pictures shows different UI, now that can't be right... and you're viewing it in your email account. Did a random stranger reach out to you about this? if so, that further confirms this is a scam.
1705  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance.us been weeks for verification phase? on: May 14, 2021, 12:58:02 PM
Binance.com verified my account (L2) within just a few minutes so I thought Binance USA should be the same.

Never thought on a big exchange like Binance that it will take weeks for verification.

It could be because they aren't exactly the same. Both are run by different teams and the US platform isn't using every thing binance does, and possibly in terms of verification too.

Yeah i tried that already as well.
I guess its just a waiting game.

Yes, and try to regularly escalate your support ticket thru their social networks too.
1706  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance.us been weeks for verification phase? on: May 13, 2021, 09:56:20 AM
I attempted to try a second account without disabling the first, the reason for the duplicate message.  Not sure if it would even help.

I was hoping someone say, yeah it took mine 4 weeks to go through or 2 months etc, just to confirm they are really slow.  I have heard some said quick, so the thought of new account occurred to me, not sure if disabling first would cure the tax id thing.

Hmm op. Multiple accounts are usually not allowed in CEXs. I suggest checking their TOS first before proceeding

and upon checking with binance.us, it seems the same applies to them. Nevertheless, try to explain your situation to them, that you mean no harm and let's hope for the best!

Back to your verification issue.. yup due to the surge of users and their incapability of catering them, verifications are taking way more longer than usual. The good news is, they have setup a way for users to follow up such cases

Full announcement + follow up form can be found thru here: Update on Account Verifications
1707  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Lost Blockchain password on: May 13, 2021, 04:39:22 AM
I know walletrecoveryservic team working fine with a good rate of success. For that reason, I have forwarded a few victims those have lost password of blockchain wallet to them. But unfortunately, it wasn't possible to recover the funds by brute force. I think it was happening due to a lack of guess-best password combination. If victims can't provide at least a part of the original password then it's quite impossible to recover wallet by brute force. So still the best option is to search for the password in possible places or try to with best guesses.

It's true that the chances are extremely low if op doesn't have any clue of what the password may be, but A LOT of ppl are still using common/weak passwords and op could be one of them, you never know that's why you gotta try.

If there's a best option in this case, that would be to exhaust every means there is.
1708  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Lost Blockchain password on: May 12, 2021, 05:38:12 AM
I have been seeing many similar threads on the forum where people asking to recover blockchain wallets. But I can't see anyone succeed with bruit-force. So the best try would be to remember your password and try it. Keep trying with your all possible passwords or find possible places where you would save or write all the passwords.

Maybe not for average individual peeps but the guy from wallet recovery services has helped a lot! (see: ANN | Website). The latter has a powerful cpu/gpu, expertise and patience which makes quite a difference. But then again, there's a chance it could work with the readily available tools so the community has been advising to try that first and if it succeeds, they get to pay 0

I'd say multi-task the methods mentioned @op

That's why it's pretty important to write all the passwords in a notebook

or use a password manager that you can store locally and encrypts your passwords like https://keepass.info/
1709  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bilaxy.com SCAM on: May 11, 2021, 03:55:01 PM
Hey, thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, there's no way to cancel the withdrawal from your account. Yes, I'm a KYC1 user.

It's possible on their end as long as the transaction isn't broadcasted yet. I went thru their telegram just in case they aren't willing to do so, and they have offered it lots of times, one example is

It seems faster to get a reply on telegram and you got banned for the wrong reasons, I'd get another account in order to ask there. You deserve the right to frequently ask for an update cause it's your money, banning you for that is downright bad service and shady.
1710  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Double check my numbers please... on: May 11, 2021, 02:47:03 AM
There's no other hidden fees I'm missing?

Coinbase is always upfront about their fees before you confirm your order so what you're seeing should be right. If you have doubts, you can take a screenshot before order confirmation and send it to them in case you encounter a hidden fee

Although if I were you, I'd opt in for coinbase pro cause buying there is much cheaper...

The other benefit with buying BTC with cash from a private party is the trackability.. right?

and the disadvantage is someone trailing you on your way back... if you decide to opt for this, better choose a public place with lots of CCTVs to minimize the risk
1711  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [btc]Bitcoin Price Prediction using Facebook Prophet Algorithm on: May 10, 2021, 03:31:10 AM
Are there any costs in the training you offer us? What are the benefits?
because at this time we can easily access everything on the internet? try to state what is the most fundamental differentiator?

I should warn you, it's a scam

It's impossible to predict the market up to that extent. If anyone is capable of doing that, it wouldn't make sense to take a much smaller fee compared to what they can earn in exchange for sharing their secret that could hinder how much they earn.

Facebook prophet algorithm sounds like a meme to me LMAO I say you are more likely to get a personalized ad 🤣
1712  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: PALKY - Crypto Shop - Everything 9,99$ - Tax and fee Free ! on: May 09, 2021, 01:29:09 PM
Op seems to be promoting a lot of suspicious service... I say they are either paid for it or a part of the team behind

I'm not even surprised that this one has a fake team

Did only two cause it wouldn't make much difference at this point...
1713  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I need to software same MetaTrader,AmiBroker and MetaStock on: May 07, 2021, 05:17:10 PM
If it is the nifty analysis tools you're after, tradingview (https://www.tradingview.com/) is the closest i can think of. It's not cryptocurrency only platform but it supports a wide variety of it. ofc unless you're looking for a specific feature...
1714  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which P2P exchange with no KYC can use to exchange Airtm USD to Bitcoin? on: May 07, 2021, 10:34:10 AM
This payment method seems more prominent in latin america, I say try your luck in Espaņol (Spanish) local board

But take a look at this before anything else. It's very off putting, I'd drop this in an instant lol. Services upfrontly lying to make themselves look good is always a big red flag

Fake user rating

I'm sure this is not a mistake. Even this just a mistake, how you can forget to remove stock photo from your testimonial section  Huh Be careful if you want to use this service.
1715  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: blockchain.com hacked. I need a bit of light shared please on: May 06, 2021, 06:45:10 PM
Does anyone know how to find the login history on blockchain? I cannot find this and the people from support are not responding.

I vaguely remember users sharing that info here after asking the support... Nevertheless, they do collect such info and you have the right to ask them for a copy

Information we collect about you: With regard to each of your visits to our website or our app we automatically collect the following information:

Login Information: We log technical information about your use of the Services, including the type of browser and version you use, the wallet identifier, the last access time of your wallet, the Internet Protocol (IP) address used to create the wallet and the most recent IP address used to access the wallet.
8. Your Rights
The rights that are available to you in relation to the Personal Data we hold about you are outlined below.

Information Access
If you ask us, we will confirm whether we are processing your Personal Data and, if so, what information we process and, if requested, provide you with a copy of that information within 30 days from the date of your request.

Gonna say this just in case but there is no way to know who exactly is at fault without a through investigation which blockchain.com should participate, we can only narrow down the possibilities... If there is one thing for certain, it is that this is one of the countless episodes on "why people are not recommending blockchain.com wallet"

Sidenote: to keep things more organized and less cluttered, it's better to insert multiple quotes in a single post rather than posting for each of 'em.
1716  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: blockchain.com hacked. I need a bit of light shared please on: May 06, 2021, 02:53:03 PM
I accept the fact that I shouldn't have kept my btc on blockchain.com and should use a ledger but what I do not understand is why would anyone leave 12.5 btc in my account and not transfer them all?? Secondly why would he transfer 1.32 btc and then transfer it back?  Plus, as I said before , I only use this computer for two things: email and blockchai.com. I never open anything else in the browser or install software.

Are some of your funds stored in your trading/interest accounts? Do your peers know you have huge amount of bitcoins?

In any case op, you should move the remaining funds to a different wallet using a clean device. Ordering a hardware wallet would probably take long so for the mean time, store it in electrum (https://electrum.org/). Make sure to verify your wallet file to make sure of its authenticity (tutorial)
1717  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Earn Interest on Crypto By Staking without verification or KYC requirements on: May 06, 2021, 01:43:36 PM
Trust me, you would feel safer and secured if it has a KYC requirement. Most of these who requires KYC are legit ones.

Requiring KYC does not in any way equates legitimacy. Anyone can easily pretend they are required by law to do so, hence why scammers have been using it to steal data from their users.

There is nothing in KYC that would make anyone feel safe and secured. In reality, it barely does anything in preventing crimes cause anyone with illicit activity in mind wouldn't tie their identity to the said account. It only propagates identity thefts either because of data breaches or ppl misusing it.

But, if you really want to stake without KYC, stake on pancakeswap or julswap with the available pair or individual coins there. Please note that Pancakeswap and Julswap are decentralized exchanges.

I would advice anyone not to stake anything which foundation is 99% hype... and exchanges are not truly decentralized if you are accessing them thru centralized means.
1718  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Binance.com] Does the 5 attempts to enter the correct password reset? on: May 05, 2021, 04:15:37 PM
What's the use of trying to access and use the account if you don't have access to the email address linked to it?

Eventually when you want to withdraw or reset a password. Binance will send a verification link to that email address to approve your withdrawal or password reset. In other words, without access to the email address, you Binance account is useless.

I would first try to recover the email address if I were you.

There is a way to change the email address once op gets the password right (triggers new device login verification) or get an access to their account (access the account right away) BUT the catch is, it is very risky 'cause you can trigger the account verification but if op is lucky, a set of security questions could be enough. If op has exhausted all their options, it wouldn't be completely useless.

If the original email address is inaccessible

...For Lv1 users, according to your account information, you will be required to answer security questions or to complete account verification.

but ofc recovering the email address would make things a lot easier and less riskier for op, if you still haven't looked into that op, I'm also suggesting you do it!
1719  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: COINBENE SCAM on: May 05, 2021, 07:28:34 AM
If the conversation is still there, let's do the double checking again op.

1. Make sure you're in the right group which is https://t.me/CB_coinbene (can be found in their website if you scroll all the way down)

2. Find the admin who you suspect contacted you and make sure they have the 'admin' sign next to their name otherwise they're fake (check for an example).
-if you have telegram for mobile, searching would be easier as the app allows you to filter messages sent by a certain user (tutorial). There's also a search bar in telegram web but I don't think it allows you to search for a certain user's messages.

3. Go to their profile and select the message symbol, and if you get the exact same convo, it means they are the same person, if not, someone was trying to impersonate the admins to scam users.
1720  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Binance.com] Does the 5 attempts to enter the correct password reset? on: May 04, 2021, 05:15:14 PM
So you mean I could try again for 5 times after 2 hours? What I wanted to know was if I didn't try 5 times. Like I tried 4 times and I have 1 try remaining. If I didnt use up that 1 last try, would it always be there? Example, I tried 4 times today, and then stopped, and came back to try again 24 hours later. Would it now be 1 try remaining, or 5 tries?

You can always create a throw away account using a temporary email address (https://temp-mail.org/) and test it! Did you try logging in thru a different browser (with cleared cookies&cache)/device/internet connection? if all of 'em didn't work, I say consider the possibility that you got the wrong password and contact the support to explore your options.

Thanks khaled! I didn't do Google or Sms because of security concerns. Like somone gets my number or phone. Any tips there?

If you're looking for a way to reset the email without getting the password right, there doesn't seem to be a way, check How to Change Account Email

and I strongly recommend you to enable 2FA (software, not SMS) once you get your account back. It will add an extra protection for you if ever someone got ahold of your password. You can bridge your concern by getting an OTP app that enables users to encrypt their data using a strong password like aegis. The stronger the password = the longer it would take for some stranger to decrypt it.
