It's annoying for sure when you start but everybody has to deal with it. And you don't have to wait long for it to be lowered as it goes down with the the more activity you get. Mine is less than 30 seconds for instance.

Just send them the money either directly or through a payment processor like Bitpay etc.
I will check, how it work.
How much time is confirmation there?

Is not OK for models from some countries, they violate local laws with showing naked skin.

Then they're breaking the law regardless. Just have the money sent directly to their Bitcoin address and don't give them any show until it's been fully deposited this, but you don't need to wait.
17163  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Escrow: how does it work here, where do I find it? on: January 10, 2014, 04:20:17 PM
You may try the new service https://www.bitrated.com/
It use m-of-n transactions, so you don't need a escrow or arbitration if the deal ends well.

And if it doesn't end well?

Quote
The arbitrator is chosen ahead of time, and is to be agreed upon by both the buyer and the seller. In case of a dispute, the parties can ask the arbitrator to give his ruling and decide what to do with the money.

This isn't foolproof. You'd probably be better just using a trusted escrow.
17164  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Premining on: January 10, 2014, 04:18:04 PM
The thing that most annoys me about new alt coins is the fact that most have been pre-mined to ridiculous levels.

As a miner I would like for the coin I choose to mine to be a success and new coins coming into existing which have been pre-mined up to 7% and more are such a dissappoinment.

Don't mine or deal with any that are pre-mined then.

Good idea, but some alt coins that have a backing of a successful entity (like for example the MMC guys) have a better chance of success than others. So not mining something that has a good chance of success just because it has been pre-mined becomes my dilemma. I would like to just ignore all that are pre-mined, but not sure if this is the best strategy.

Well you can't have it both ways. People are always going to try profit of scams any way they can. If people refused to mine any coin that was pre-mined then we wouldn't have this problem, but that'll never happen unfortunately.
17165  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How cryptocurrency is applicable to adult webcam? on: January 10, 2014, 04:13:25 PM
You actually don't need to wait 6 confirmation. One confirmation is enough for your purpose. It usually takes several minutes. You may start show instantly with 0 confirmations, ant stop it if double-spend detected. But organization of double-spend attack is very unlikely in your case. So don't worry and start accept bitcoins. The advantages are obvious - no chargebacks, very low commissions, no agents, no problem to cashout, etc.

Some people just think that if they don't wait for the full confirmations there's a good chance they wont get their money, but this isn't the case.
17166  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what is bitcoin faucet? on: January 10, 2014, 04:00:25 PM
The only one that i tried and successfully got coins can be found in my signature. Payout it every week and you can get up to 0.2 btc every hour

0.2 really? Everybody can get this or just the lucky winners or whatever?

Yes, I think quark was so heavily premined that there was not much left for normal miners to mine. The website says this is for allocating to giveaways and promotions but whoever is behind it seems to be out for maximum profit. I'm not sure about ripple. I read somewhere that it is completely premined but designed a bit differently from normal crypto currency.

Giveaways lol. Why can't the devs just mine the coins themselves for giveaways? These alts are just blatant get rich quick pump and dumps. They don't care about cryptocurrencies or developing the coin as long as they can make a quick profit.
17168  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How cryptocurrency is applicable to adult webcam? on: January 10, 2014, 03:55:21 PM
sending the BTC to your cam account then the cam website deposits payments automatically in the models account.
I'm talking about independent models and online tutors.
Cam sites cut from 10 to 50% of customer money in exchange of video streaming service and other.
Independent models/tutors are using various messengers, from PalTalk to Skype for video streaming.

Just send them the money either directly or through a payment processor like Bitpay etc.
17169  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Selling Goods/Services for BTC Tips? on: January 10, 2014, 03:53:48 PM
Hi,

New here.

Looking to sell goods for BTC.

I essentially want to provide a service for people to swap their BTC for goods possibly services. Removing the need to convert to fiat to do so.

Any tips on selling goods? In particular selling face to face.

I'd bring my android phone with a bitcoin wallet for them to scan a QR code. How likely is it for me to be scammed if I wait for just 1 confirmation?

Not very likely, but it's possible. You can sell and buy goods and services here on the forum.
17170  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what is bitcoin faucet? on: January 10, 2014, 03:52:44 PM
A bitcoin faucet is a website that gives you small amounts of bitcoin (ie "dust") - to be honest I've tried a few recently but never received the coins. Hitting up an alt-coin faucet and then exchanging for bitcoin could be a option as well

This. Faucets aren't really worth your time to be honest. PrimeDice has a decent one that gives you 100 satoshis to gamble with though.
17171  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie - "on the clock" ?? on: January 10, 2014, 03:50:43 PM
So how many posts and how long do I have to be logged in for before I can post on the main threads?

This is getting frustrating. I am not a bot - I swear  Grin

But as I tried to post my second post I realised there is a time restriction between posts too?

This is funny stuff.

How long is this interval restriction?

It's six minutes. You need one post and now browse for four hours; then you'll be able to post everywhere.

Why are you literally citing me?

It's a spam bot that copies part of a post then replies with it, the account is being banned.

Is it definitely a bot? I wasn't sure, but I think he might've just been doing it manually and BadBear thought the same (unless new evidence has come to light).

He's either a bot or just spamming.
But what's the use? This whole day it appeared he was trying to respond to as many topics as possible, while he just signed in on the forum yesterday. Suspicious...

He gets paid per post for his signature like I do. I have also noticed his suspicious behaviour.
17174  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie - "on the clock" ?? on: January 10, 2014, 03:26:24 PM
If these restrictions limit the amount of spam and/or useless comments then I guess it's a plus. But there seem to be plenty of trolls who've passed the requirements and freely post nothing but meme's and utter bullshit.

They're never gonna weed out trolls or spam bots 100%, but it'd be a lot worse without these features implemented.
17175  Other / Meta / Re: Images in signatures. on: January 10, 2014, 03:21:52 PM
I don't think we're at too big of a risk seeing that image everywhere... considering that guy hasn't been online since March 2012.

Yeah, but not if people keep necro-ing his posts Grin. There's a few other sig images dotted around.

Out of interest, what was the reason for removing them?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=26656.msg334455#msg334455

This user BitcoinPorn has an image in his sig. There was a post in a thread somewhere where Theymos asked if we'd seen any images in signatures because he thought he's taken care of them all or whatever, and I think he asked to report them, but I can't find the thread.

Maybe this is now a find an image in peoples' sigs thread. Prizes for the most found?  Cheesy

17178  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people think income tax is ok? on: January 10, 2014, 02:49:29 PM
Do you honestly believe that, in today's world, those things couldn't be built/services be offered without government involvement?

I believe it is possible for those things to be built/offered without government involvement.

It's just that historical evidence shows that doesn't work worth a damn for many things.

It's not impossible, but it's unlikely to ever succeed or become fully efficient.
17179  Economy / Services / Re: selling my signature in this forum on: January 10, 2014, 02:44:25 PM
I am selling my signature in this forum. I will post regularly.

Just choose one from here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=333916.0
usefull post.
thanks for sharing  Wink

I see you've taken advantage of it already  Grin.
17180  Other / Meta / Re: How do I add a picture and advertise at the bottom of my posts?? on: January 10, 2014, 02:43:38 PM
Thanks!   In all my ~385 posts you only the second person to mention it. Tongue  The first guy pm'ed me asking what would happen if he didn't pay the fine, I replied with this:
I send a virus to your computer which slowly begins to hypnotizes you while your reading this PM with subtle flickers in the background.  You will slowly lose random memories and eventual forget everything.  You will be unable to use your long term memory except you won't forget the 0.01btc you own me.

You will suffer until you pay the fine.

YOU'VE BEEN WARNED
P.S. he paid the fine Cheesy and became the first person to ever tip me on the forum.

Tipped or scammed/blackmailed?  Grin.
