17201  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which coin would you use in your everyday life ? on: January 10, 2014, 12:13:33 PM
For me BTC is too slow for every day life even if it changed the world of money.

This again?

Have you actually used BTC to purchase something. It takes seconds. There's no need to wait for confirmations on low value goods.

If these newbs even had any BTC they sure as hell wouldn’t be s(p)ending it anywhere  Grin.
17202  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overstock.com NOW accepting bitcoins as payment! on: January 10, 2014, 12:04:22 PM
I just ordered something and checked out with bitcoin so it is not a rumor, it is a fact and works just fine.

Please try to find something you need on there and order it and pay with BTC so we can reward them for making this bold step and helping our community and the world as a whole.

^This

We need to show support for them taking a risk with adopting BTC as payment.  Even if you don't need something, buy something small so they can report high transaction counts.

I agree. What is their international site which ships to the UK? Are products sent over from America or do they have European distribution.

Can we change the PD weblink in our sig to the affiliate link?
Since when does PD have an affiliate program?

https://primedice.com/modals/affiliate.html

Don't know whether it's a new feature or not, but saw it down at the bottom of the site yesterday.
Yeah, I see it now too. Stunna mentioned me he's preparing to launch PD v3 so this might be one of the features.

I'm curious whether the referrals' (if the question is about them) losses like wins will be transferred to the promoters as well, lol?

lol, be funny if you checked your account one day and you were in debt.

Stunna will be sending the bailiffs round  Grin.
17204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the "best" (easiest and relatively safe) wallet voor total noobs? on: January 10, 2014, 11:59:54 AM
Best user friendly wallet so far is KryptoKit

Info: http://www.coindesk.com/ver-buterin-join-bitcoin-browser-wallet-kryptokit/

I'll wait till its "tested by everyone for security" before giving it a go. Doesn't pay to be an early adopter with wallet software Wink

That's definitely good advice. Wouldn't dare be one of those 'early adopters/testers' of wallet software.
17205  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How cryptocurrency is applicable to adult webcam? on: January 10, 2014, 11:57:19 AM
Hi!
How is possible to apply crypto coins for independent web models (or online tutors)?
If there is high risk of scam, models need wait time for transaction confirmations, and that is too much for delivery of show on instant request or customer.
Maybe some known customer will become that he will, without waiting, but how to due, if there is a new one?
That is a bad idea, if customers need load coins a day before, when they become the possibility for spending coins on show.
Well, independent models uses RedPass or Payoneer.

How is possible to apply crypto coins to independent online webcam business?

Yes it's possible and actually already has been implemented. You only need to wait for one transaction really and it's as good as received anyway.
17206  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New here on: January 10, 2014, 11:53:31 AM
Hi im new here and want to post on other boards.
Anyone else stuck here too?

Read the newbie readme for details on how to become 'unstuck'  Grin.
17207  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [POLL] How would you describe yourself politically? on: January 10, 2014, 11:39:37 AM
Libertarian Socialist is a confused person, how can the government provide many goods and services to the public and control the means of production (Socialism) while at the same time leaving you free to provide for yourself and be small (Libertarian)?

I'm afraid you're the one confused here. Do some more research on each school of thought and you'll see.
17208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Name the 0.0001 BTC unit - Final Poll on: January 10, 2014, 11:36:50 AM
a "blip"

Can we start a new poll for my suggestion?  Grin
17209  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Told you so, OverStock.com pushed price of Bitcoin over $1000 on: January 10, 2014, 11:32:13 AM
Told you so, OverStock.com accepting Bitcoin pushed price of Bitcoin over $1000

Not quite. It's the day after they started accepting it and now the price is  $836.03.

The markets are very fickle. Doesn't take much to push and then pull the price right back down.
17210  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Fake] Satoshi Nakamoto breaks silence in landmark interview on: January 10, 2014, 11:26:40 AM
If you think this is bad, wait till April 1st  Grin

I'm sure it'll be April Troll Day on here.

Might be a buying opportunity. All kinds of silly stories, some people forget the date, panic sell .... Wink

BREAKING NEWS: EBAY AMAZON AND FACEBOOK ANNOUNCE THEY'RE NOW ACCEPTING BTC *price goes through the roof* *sell sell sell*  Grin
17211  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people think income tax is ok? on: January 10, 2014, 11:22:18 AM
Oh well, I'm talking about getting rid of all taxes Tongue

What system do you propose for paying for schools, roads, hospitals, emergency services etc?
17212  Other / Off-topic / Re: Waitress with QR on shirt for tips! - Bronx deli on: January 10, 2014, 11:20:35 AM
Yeah, must be a pretty good waitress to get tip from not even serving people anything, that's an infinite % on that bill there.

Women need to learn how to hustle better. They can make so much money from little-to-no work and most don't even realise it.
17213  Other / Meta / Re: Meta these days... on: January 10, 2014, 11:11:22 AM
Is this kind of thread reportable?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=384594.0

It's in the wrong section, so probably. But then again, around half of the threads in the newb section are, so I don't know how productive it will be to keep reporting them daily, and also whether the mods will get pissed off with all the "in the wrong section" reports that come flooding in constantly.

Year, I often feel tempted to report posts in the noob section. But than again, those guy aren't really doing something bad. It's just annoying as hell.

Although, seeing those threads I wonder if it's even possible to make a coin shitty and scammy enough for people don't jump on it like crazy (Altcoiners kill my faith in mankind  Cry )

Edit: Reported my first altcoin Thread (if that ruins my 100% score I'm pissed!)

Grin Have fun. Currently about 90% of threads on the first page are in the wrong section. Half of them are mining questions. The rest are about alts.

And I lost my faith in mankind long ago, but this site the internet is sometimes enough to change even a peace-loving hippie into a miserable nihilistic misanthrope  Grin.
17214  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you spend your days doing if you didn't have to work ever again? on: January 10, 2014, 11:03:22 AM
find a nice girl to spend time with all my money on who will eventually financially ruin me

Grin What if you can't find a nice girl?

Tits for bits

I'm claiming copy right on this one...... but i bet there is already a website called tits for bits. But since i'm at work, i'm not going to check.

Good thing she isn't op or we'd completely perv her

I wonder if less attractive women make more money thur BTC than they would if they were asking for money straight up.
I've seen a couple of unattractive women ask for BTC for pics... and i wouldnt give them cash or BTC but people are willing to give them BTC, do you think its because they dont see BTC as real money, so willing to use it for a lower quality service.

My theory is that by giving her btc shes at least smarter than the average gold digging cum dumpster.

You have such a way with words  Grin.

she must be a terrible waitress shes only received 56 bucks in tips or maybe most people leave her cash

Better than nothing and pretty sure most if not all the money she has received has come from online.
17216  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people think income tax is ok? on: January 10, 2014, 10:51:50 AM
The power to tax is the power to destroy. I think income tax and property tax are just wrong. What do you think?

Roads, police, fire services?

Nuclear Bombs, Military Industrial Complex, Secret Police, Surveillance, establishment of dictatorships in other countries

Yes, I do believe it's wrong, the good government achieves all it does through the stealing of other peoples wealth ( which is wrong in itself ) but it is completely outweighed by the amount of atrocities government commits across the world.

I think taxes are great, as long as they're spent on things that benefit the people and not on the war machine and laundering money to corporations. I'd happily even pay more tax for more schools more hospitals, free education and other free services etc. The tax brackets also need to be fair and I don't agree with punishing the rich with ridiculous taxes either.

http://blog.al.com/wire/2014/01/north_korean_leaders_uncle_was.html

North Korean leader's uncle was not killed by hungry dogs

Quote
Kim’s uncle, who had been the No. 2 person in the North Korean government, was most likely killed by firing squad before his execution was announced on Dec. 13.

The fictitious story first appeared on a satirical Chinese website where it was posted by editor Pyongyang Choi Seongho. That story was lifted almost verbatim and reported in Wen Wei Po, a Hong Kong tabloid. Soon after, it was published in English in the Singapore newspaper Straits Times.

After that, the Guardian and blogger Trevor Powell report, several Western news organizations published the story without doing any independent reporting or fact-checking.

The Guardian called the incident “… an astonishing example of the media echo chamber gone awry."

Wasn't he machined gunned to death? Wouldn't surprise me if this was just BS/propaganda.

17218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: VOTE - POLL How may of us are here for a cryptocoin other than Bitcoin? on: January 10, 2014, 10:42:21 AM
Six votes and no one wants to say what coin they are here for? Come on someone must be here for Doge.

Well the polling options aren’t perfect. I came here for Bitcoin, but quickly gained interest in others (LTC, FTC mainly).

A lot of the newbs tend to come here by whatever new alt coin is hyped up that they've heard about (Doge, Kanye etc).

Help me change the poll. What option would you add without adding every altcoin in existence (the poll would be too long and always incomplete).

I dunno; it's a hard poll to create. Maybe a 'any/all cryptocurrencies' option. A lot of people just jump on pump and dumps until they're unprofitable to mine, so maybe 'pump and dump shitcoin' option  Grin.
