1841  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN][EXCHANGE][ALERT] what happened to BITFOREX on: May 21, 2020, 05:16:45 AM
.001BTC is roughly $10... there was no bonus, you just made the deposit payment at a later time. Unless it's for meeting the minimum withdrawal amount (shouldn't be too high) which seems not the case for this, you shouldn't be asked to deposit in order to withdraw, the only ones I know who are doing that are scammers.

I swear, there's always a catch with these sign up bonuses, after all it's a marketing strategy, they should be gaining more.
1842  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coinbase problem on: May 21, 2020, 03:03:52 AM
For your piece of mind, here's a similar case where they were also asked to send X amount to their coinbase address, only difference in their problem is they put an incorrect tag. It's also implied that it was sent from the originating address bc you can't verify it if you omit it out of the picture-- send from other address.

SIXTH UPDATE: Friday 4.19.19
Yesterday I was contacted by Coinbase via email and instructed to send two specific payments to verify the originating address and delivery address, I assume.

....FINAL UPDATE Wednesday 4.24.19Success! - 50,000+ lumens credited back along with a simple email response from Coinbase regarding the crediting; "We have verified both test deposits of XLM that you sent to your Coinbase XLM Wallet and have been able to credit your account."
1843  Economy / Exchanges / Re: StealthEX, instant cryptocurrency exchange platform on: May 19, 2020, 05:53:09 AM
To be fair, I think this is not a centralized exchange. They are offering non-custodial exchange, similar to what Shapeshift used to offer before it finally succumbed to the centralized way of doing stuff: need to open an account, need to comply KYC, and so on.

Centralized as long as there's a central entity in control. and I wouldn't call it non-custodial if at some point they have an access to your funds. Like if somehow a user triggers the suspicious flag, they can temporarily hold your funds until you made the decision of undergoing KYC or not.

The transaction is anonymous to all third parties and the enhanced due diligence procedures might be imposed only in case the transaction is identified as suspicious. Hence, we might require additional documentation from user to be presented before processing the return transaction. The user is always eligible to decline provision of KYC documents and in such a case we have to restitute the amounts sent to us.
1844  Economy / Exchanges / Re: StealthEX, instant cryptocurrency exchange platform on: May 19, 2020, 03:22:54 AM
So the point is you can get ahold of user data and it can be disclosed to people outside of your control which again contradicts the anonymity you are advertising. It's pretty much impossible for a centralized exchange which is in compliance with the government.
1845  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Has anyone try this before? on: May 14, 2020, 11:44:35 PM
Considering that their domain is for sale ((https://whois.domaintools.com/bitoffer.com) + the continuous winnings, it's most likely a trap.

bitoffer.com is for sale!

This domain is listed for sale at one of our partner sites for $6,410.

It's a common scam story, the exchange sets up bonuses/use of demo accs to attract new users -> make them feel it's super easy to make money in their platform -> user bites the bait and deposit -> exchange proceeds to suck their money.

I wouldn't risk a cent nor my time.
1846  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: fox.exchange -- Coin to Coin exchange (Like shapeshift but no registration!) on: May 14, 2020, 12:14:30 AM

Ah, another centralized KYC/AML compliant exchange who advertises itself as "completely anonymous" just because they don't mandatory require their users to undergo the said procedure.

Completely anonymous

No registration, no email, no identification documents needed, only your crypto public address.

Terms of Service

...FOX service reserves the right to apply the AML/KYC procedure to certain Users, addresses and particular transactions of crypto assets. Application of the AML/KYC procedure is based on FOX service internal policies and aimed at preventing and mitigating possible risks of FOX service being involved in money laundering as well as any other illegal activities.

Please be informed, that FOX service reserves the right to appoint Third-party service provider in order to fulfil AML/KYC procedure on behalf of FOX service. While processing your information, such service provider completely complies with our Privacy Policy in respect of your personal information.

During the AML/KYC procedure, we reserve the right to freeze and withhold your exchange transaction for any length of time necessary to complete the investigation and AML/KYC procedure. If you do not complete or pass the AML/KYC procedure FOX has the right to terminate the execution of your transactions.

FOX service will not enter a business arrangement with individual or entity suspected of or directly involved in money laundering, or in which the funds have been the source of illegal activity.

Another misleading statement is the "no custodial risk". They shouldn't say this bc at some point they have an access to their users funds hence does not completely eliminate "custodial risks"

Extremely safe

Unlike most other exchanges, we don't hold customer deposits. Like this, your funds don't suffer custodial risk.

I'd open a scam accusation (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=260073.0) for their misleading statements if I were you.
1847  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.com (app) wallet funds transfer on: May 12, 2020, 06:09:44 PM
The web account does not show wallet 1 it only exists because the app shows it does and it is the wallet with crypto.
...-Wallet 1 default wallet available via app only purchased funds through app are stored here

Are you perhaps talking about the trading wallet? I logged into my account thru the web and it shows up fine

If that's the case, have you tried the common fixes which are clearing cookies&cache, use different device, different browser, rebooting modem? and I'm assuming you've already reached out to their support?
1848  Economy / Exchanges / Re: StealthEX, instant cryptocurrency exchange platform on: May 08, 2020, 11:56:59 PM
As per GDPR regulation, we are eligible to disclose the personal information only in certain cases and in amount limited to the final goal of such a disclosure. As per our Privacy Policy rules, we might disclose information only for subcontractors that serve us in order to deliver our Services to you; please note, that all these subcontractors are members of our business enterprise. In addition, please note, that currently, we do not serve fiat payments, hence no disclosure to the banks or other relevant financial institutions might take place.

The policy doesn't only pertains to your "subcontractors" who are members of your business enterprise. and I doubt cloudflare which has access to your site's data is a part of that.
3.4 We may disclose your enquiry data to one or more of those selected third party suppliers of goods and services identified on our website for the purpose of enabling them to contact you so that they can offer, market and sell to your relevant goods and/or services. Each such third party will act as a data controller or data processor in relation to the enquiry data that we supply to it; and upon contacting you, each such third party will supply to you a copy of its own privacy policy, which will govern that third party's use of your personal data.

third party is defined as:
a natural or legal person, public authority, agency or body other than the data subject, controller, processor and persons who, under the direct authority of the controller or processor, are authorised to process personal data.

We understand your opinion. But we must say that we really care about the privacy and anonymity of our users. We do not have a registration procedure, we do not ask or collect personal user data - names, dates of birth, email, address of residence, passport data (id). We think that's why we can call us anonymous.

I'd call it pseudonymous, even if you don't collect KYC details, you collect (and the third parties too like their hosting provider) other sets of data too like transaction details, browser, ip address, email address etc.. if you combine those you can make up a user profile and when it gets passed around, gets combined with other sets of data, it becomes easier to relate it to a real person.

but then again, in your terms, it states you may collect/use data which has the user's real name, address etc...

Type of information:
Any data we may request to identify for AML/KYC purposes. ID, Passport, VAT, or trading experience

Purpose:
The inquiry data may be processed for the purposes of fulfilment of our KYC and AML obligations. The proper performance of our payment obligation to you

@op, the policy is designed in a way that it's perfectly fine when you actually do it(X), and that also states a possibility. so you advertising this as an anonymous exchange doesn't look credible rn, even pseudonymous won't apply at this point. Not to mention that authorities could always take in charge. The no kyc, no limits doesn't seem sustainable imo.
1849  Economy / Exchanges / Re: coinbase pro withdrawal blockchain fee on: May 06, 2020, 07:49:01 PM
Hmm. unless there's something I'm missing, it should be shouldered by them like what they're saying in their article. Gdax which is previously coinbase pro also did the same. In any case, testing the withdrawal tab just to see if you'll be paying anything could be something to double check before depositing funds.

1850  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchange very small amount of DASH for BTC or ETH on: April 30, 2020, 04:43:13 PM
Rates from binance as of as of writing:
1 DASH = 0.009490BTC so 0.000682 dash would be 647 sats
1 DASH = 4.835 BNB so 0.000682 dash = .003297 BNB = 640 sats

That's ofc inclusive of fees and the more you exchange it to X coin the more you'd pay, so it's really better to wait till you get a good amount to consolidate/do mass conversion, and maybe by that time the value has also increased!. There could be another service like binance but you'd still be facing the withdrawal fees, and with the amount you have rn, it's not worth it and you could end up spending more on fees.
1851  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchange very small amount of DASH for BTC or ETH on: April 30, 2020, 12:24:37 PM
I'd say it's better to wait till you get a good amount to consolidate. I don't think it's gonna be worth exchanging as it is rn with how small the amount is + the fees coming into play. Also, most exchanges has a minimum trade amount which this may not reach.
1852  Economy / Exchanges / Re: StealthEX, instant cryptocurrency exchange platform on: April 29, 2020, 11:01:19 PM
Better stop advertising your exchange as anonymous as it will just be an endless contradictions

Just like this one

The StealthEX users can be completely sure that the exchanges they make with us are totally anonymous and absolutely safe. We care about your privacy.

...We never share any information about our customers with third parties.

But then in your privacy policy you have "Information We May Provide to Third Parties and Automated decision-making" (https://archive.is/REcs3#selection-561.3-561.76)
1853  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Help the beginner find the software on: April 28, 2020, 09:39:36 PM
https://cryptowat.ch/ which is just a website has this. Free accounts get to be notified thru browser notification while paid ones has SMS and email as another option. They do provide a free trial, so you can test it.

Do know that I haven't used the said service, so I can't vouch for them. I just read somewhere that they do have this.
1854  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Don't buy "wallet.dat" files with lost passwords; EXCHANGE THEM. on: April 24, 2020, 11:52:49 PM
Well.. There's a reason why people would let go of those files, and that is bc they have deemed it useless so I don't really see the point of this.

It's either op has actual wallet.dat with funds and private keys in it but it was too difficult to crack or that there's something wrong with it like having no private keys so there's no way to spend those funds. If it's the former, then those two also applies to the one you are gonna be exchanging with...
1855  Other / Archival / Re: Trouble with Coinb.in Wallet on: April 23, 2020, 11:36:28 AM
Seeing how similar they are, pretty sure it's a phishing site and even if it's not, there's no reason to trust an obscure copy-pasta wallet that is just using a free domain and hosting. It could also be that they're trying to fool both kinds of people who does know coinb.in and doesn't as it could pose as a standalone wallet for people who aren't aware of coinb.in existence and do little to no BG checks.

Transfer your funds to a new wallet as soon as possible using the real site. Do you remember yourself generating the address there? Well, if it doesn't work you can try sweeping them in a supported wallet (how to guide using electrum), see if the keys are valid and does correspond to your address.
1856  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: hashmart.shop scam arnaque on: April 22, 2020, 05:22:36 PM
I wouldn't doubt that since their store pictures are stolen from myrig.com, just cropped and edited to remove the signage, though you still have to post proofs to further strengthen your case (follow the format). It's always better to play safe and not trust any non-reputable sites when buying something.

1857  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Olypm trade a scam? on: April 22, 2020, 12:17:33 PM
If you came for cryptocoins, you won't be getting much with how few their pairs are, better go with a cryptocurrency focused one. also, binary options is way to risky, I wouldn't touch it if I were you.

I'd be cautious with anything that gives off "it's easy to make money here" vibe which this one does in their ads and the infos on their website. By any chance, did your friends gave you a referral link to sign up with?

The issues arrive when you make something like $>10000 and you try and withdraw. Usually they find some way not to pay you. Hence you should just avoid these exchanges all together. Use something like Binance or Bitmex which doesn't scam people.

There's no guarantee that these centralized exchanges would not scam people (or haven't scammed people). and the higher the amount youre trading with, the higher the chance that you'll be flagged for "suspicious activity" which in return would freeze your funds. Imo we're all just taking chances with these exchanges, just choosing which is less likely to screw up.
1858  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Purse.io is shutting down on: April 17, 2020, 02:09:02 AM
All we've got for now is this

“It was a business decision, nothing funky going on,” Purse support manager Eduardo Gómez said in a Twitter DM. Purse will disclose more information in a forthcoming blog post, he added.

....Gómez said the decision to wind down the company was not related to the recent move by Amazon to slash commissions on its affiliate program.

From what I read in other communities, people are either saying it's because of legal trouble or amazon cutting down commissions. I'm guessing their reply pertains to that. But If they were pressured, there's a high chance they wouldn't say it on their blog post... we'll see once it's here

Purse will continue to facilitate services until June 26

Also, this June 26 should not be final given how uncertain our current situation is (covid-19) with shipping delays going on.
1859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crptocurrency traders please help out on the legitimacy on this much appreciated on: April 16, 2020, 12:00:47 AM
I would stay away from any stranger who suddenly wants to be involved with my money, it's a huge red flag. And someone with an inside info (assuming it's credible) redirecting you to an obscure and new exchange doesn't add up.

Doing a couple of successful transactions, doesn't mean it's legit or guarantees it wont zucc your money. Take a look at the exchanges which were once reputable and exit scammed. The girl most likely (and her team[?]) owns the sketchy website and is just doing that to gain your trust. Domain name and UI is enough for me to stay away, honestly. If there's barely any information about a certain service, then it's a no-touch zone.

If the site is illegitimate can you tell me what do people normally use? What about USDT stocks like CoinTimes, key2018, are they legit?  Because I read that scammers use the pump and dump method.

some of them are here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5079048.0. Wdym by "USDT stocks"?
1860  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Flame.Exchange official feedback & review thread on: April 09, 2020, 04:41:41 PM
4. Lack of user reviews despite being in business since 2018
5. Copied TOS from binance (https://archive.is/Rf97Y | Binance's)
6. I'm not sure if they're on maintenance or sth but I'm only seeing one trading pair... it took me a few tries to access the website, it kept giving '404 page not found'
7. No privacy policy (or missing?)
