1961  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: December 01, 2016, 05:29:42 PM
Oh hell yeah!  Hopefully batch 2 has some tuned up specs!!!

Im intrigued by the specs. I was going to buy one when they were last on sale as they are "quiet" and im a home miner, but ive bought an S9 instead and underclocked it massively (4Th) plus will be changing the fans etc to get it even quieter than it is now (fans running 20%). But I was always going to underclock the R4 anyway to the same Th as im limited on power usage.

Only thing that put me off was the fact they were only slightly cheaper than the S9 and weren't the same hashing power. So youre paing a big premium for them being quiet.
1962  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How much do you guys make off of mining? on: December 01, 2016, 05:04:54 PM
I make approximately £25 per month profit (after electricity has been paid) out of ONE Antminer S9.

BUT that's does not include the cost of the miner itself if I were to take into account the cost of the miner too (£1000) then I would be making a Return On Investment (ROI) in approximately 40 YEARS !!!!!

So if anyone comes on here and says they make loads of money out of a few miners they are not telling the whole truth as to actually be making a real profit the cost of the equipment (miners) must be factored in.

Good thing I only do it as a hobby  Cheesy
1963  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: December 01, 2016, 01:21:22 PM
What do you guys reckon is a best temperature for those miners to run on? I have noticed that when it becomes too cold it starts hashing lower. Its very strange, but it seem to me the best performance is when the chips are about 100C. Is that still safe temperature to run on?

Any miner I've had that I've been able to see the temp on has run best when the BOARD temp is 50c so whatever the chips are in relation to that. Usually about 20-30c more than the board.

Got an email from Bitmain. New batch of R4 will be available on the 2nd December 11pm Beijing Time.

It's all gone quiet.....I wonder why 🤔

Bravo and thank you vh for your continued efforts in conjunction with sidehack to provide us all with a miner for the people.
1967  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S9 fan speed realy low on: November 29, 2016, 09:30:16 PM
I read a little while ago that awesome miner had trouble with S9 miners as the S7 runs cgminer and the S9 runs BMminer and awesmemminer software had trouble loading the correct values.
1968  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [SELL] Bitcoin for Paypal Preev+0% on: November 29, 2016, 08:56:32 PM
How much have you got available? Are you willing to send first to me? Only reason I ask is your trust level is 0 so reluctant to send first as I has been scammed before.
1969  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S9 fan speed realy low on: November 29, 2016, 08:39:10 PM
Have you read the S9 thread. The S7 reports board temps and the S9 reports board and chip temps. Are you sure you are reading the same temps on each type of machine?
1970  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: XT60 Power Connectors on: November 29, 2016, 08:37:41 PM
Look nice and beefy. Power delivery ok to the boards?
1971  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: BTC > PAYPAL@1:1 on: November 29, 2016, 07:10:31 PM
I highly doubt it will happen, but it would be something good to see if a transaction can happen

That's exactly my point. I'm seriously fed up with the scammers on here. The currency section used to be great a couple of months ago, lots of exchanges and lots of happy people. But now it's rubbish, so I have a new tactic. If they don't do a deal for a small amount out in the open then they will be tagged as a scammer and given negative feedback. I know it won't stop someone from opening a new account but hopefully it will deter people from trying.
1972  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: November 29, 2016, 05:47:48 PM
hi, i just got my antminers S9 but they are working at temps over 100, but all my S7 are working under 50 temp, i have good cooling, (with s9 i can not edit the fan speed and its realy quiet it might be the problem) is there a way to activate this setting ?

Have you tried resetting them?? Not sure how on an S9 but im sure it will be in the manual somewhere.
1973  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S9 fan speed realy low on: November 29, 2016, 05:46:11 PM
Someone will pick it up eventually. You can always post again in a day or so if no one answers. Saves cluttering up the forum.

Try editing your post in the other thread with more information and see what happens.
1974  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S9 fan speed realy low on: November 29, 2016, 05:40:59 PM
Firstly I see you have posted this question already in the CORRECT thread for the S9 already. Please wait for a response in there. You will need to provide more information, batch number, firmware version, even if the fans are original (any markings).
1975  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: BTC > PAYPAL@1:1 on: November 29, 2016, 05:38:03 PM
They should still provide a txid though.

If you want to trade I am willing to buy btc from you (at 1:1 rate for a small trade of $20). You will send first and ill send paypal as a gift in USD after the btc transaction gets 1 confirmation.

Most people have seen me here before and know I do deals on occasion with paypal. Check my feedback for yourself if you need to.

Fancy doing an open deal on the thread so everyone can see it? So you can prove you're not a scammer?

Soooooo..............anyone fancy sorting this block out?
1978  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience is now dabbling with 16nm ASICs for new designs on: November 29, 2016, 02:38:02 PM
They still sell those pcie to 3 barrel jack leads on eBay. But I do prefer the pcie on the unit itself as itjust feels like a more secure and safer power delivery.
1979  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: BTC > PAYPAL@1:1 on: November 28, 2016, 10:01:21 PM
Looking for best offer. When you get 20 people adding you on skype, turning down people is considered 'fishy?' Paranoia is a norm on bitcointalk I guess.

Actually its just caution. There are more and more scam attempts on this forum everyday and the behaviour seen on this thread has been performed by a scammer before, hence the comments from other members Wink
1980  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: i want to cash out 0.069BTC(50.5$) to 50$ paypal. your paypal my bitcoins on: November 28, 2016, 07:11:03 PM
You won't find anyone to trade with then unfortunately. No escrow will deal with a PayPal transaction as its reversible and you are a newbie account so no one will deal with you and send first. Only way you will get a deal is to send first to a trusted member who has a good trust rating on the forum.
