2181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptogenic Bullion | The Gold Standard Virtual Precious Metal | CGB on: March 01, 2014, 05:52:47 PM
Great news guys! We have a new lead dev, at least for the interim! I will announce soon. We will be releasing new clients as soon as possible which will include new checkpoints, a bug fix with listaccounts vs getbalance and a new splash screen (gold logo with new slogan "Earn. Store. Multiply").

That is great news!!! Good job!

When I read the news this morning I first wasn't sure what to think, what to do or whom to trust. But after the first shock and thinking about the whole situation, as well as reading your post I am more then ever confident in you and CGB! After all I think this incident will just make CGB and most of all the Community backing it stronger and laid the foundation for new healthy start!
With that sad, I would like to take the opportunity to say, that  I am here ready to jump in with what ever I may be able to help.
Just let me know and I will do my best to do it!

Those who have read this thread from the beginning may know that I had concerns about Merc being key man. Not because of his abilities: I believe he was extraordinarily capable, but because of the load placed on one brilliant dev..

I have been involved with 30 different Cryptos over the last year, and see many recurring themes : reasons why an otherwise great coin does not prosper.  Be under no illusion, a coin cannot survive without an excellent dev team to share the load, not just of coding, but of the psychological pressures from 'supporters' which can become intolerable.

Let's now work on creating the right conditions for success.

2182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptogenic Bullion | The Gold Standard Virtual Precious Metal | CGB on: March 01, 2014, 03:01:51 PM
This caught everyone unprepared. CGB future looks pretty weak, sadly to say. I've lost more than half of what I had before. All to take from this is a lesson learnt.

Many of us (self included) have lost more than 80%. The project can recover with a new dev team.

Price is irrelevant to prospects, but I would just point out that the total market cap., at ~$250k is for ALL the issue (unlike most of the other coins compared), so its just option money now (cheap)

Sounds like a good idea. I would support that.

GPU miner really screwed this coin   Shocked

I think it could use some positive news, anyone?

This is a positive change...GPU mining is good when a coin network matures and grows.

This coin is still very young, but GPU miner will be fine going forward. Working out the issues atm.
2185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining | No pre-mine on: February 28, 2014, 09:00:20 AM
Ok, I confirm. Mining quarks does take a lot less power.

Really, this is interesting.
I wondered when he posted that if the GPU was just not being used in the same way.
Anyone else?

Quark has several interesting quirks. The speed of transactions has always been surprising.

Something about the structure makes everything very smooth and stable.

Animecoin just made a debut on coinmarketcap.com....

2187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CASH] Crypto CASH a unique Crypto currency! **1.1 Client is mandatory** on: February 28, 2014, 08:56:31 AM
does anybody have the "checkpoint is too old.redownload blockchain..... " on the new version 1.1?

Yes just started

Thanks. Is there gonna be another update soon?

I have the Checkpoint message again (after a couple weeks without).

It does not affect functionality in any way. Live with it until there is a good update.

So much CGB dumped lately, odd to be dumping at all time low prices though.  I suppose just because you hold a lot of coins doesn't necessarily make you a wise or savvy investor.  No matter, working on freeing up some BTC to try to scoop up another 2k to get me into the 10k club!

Marketing isn't my forte, but perhaps with hordes of newbies stroking it over MINT and BC, we may be able to appeal to that crowd?  Look, over here guys, a well established PoS coin that you can have confidence won't be pumped, dumped, and abandoned by the dev a week after it hits an exchange.

The ones that are really rising in price are the coins with the biggest communities and the slickest marketing. Price is chicken and egg.. A pump gets a coin noticed, and gets more adoption (which is really the only thing that counts in the end)

The new kind of hardware for? It does not know how to effect the price worth it
I would like also know if there is some ASIC hardware(Like AntMiner U1) which work with this coin?
this coin is asic resistant
Yeah and it was also supposed to be GPU resistant...

As a network grows and matures, GPU and then asics (if possible) are a natural progression. It's just a matter of having enough distribution first.

Looks like krecu  is not interested in coin anymore. I asked him here several times to make an address so we can donate qubits and get listed on some exchange, but still without answer.

Maybe he don't have time to do this or answer...

I think that he is busy with "real life". I hope that he is good, we miss him Smiley

You are the best community!
I really do personal affairs and will be back as soon as all settled. (1 week)
If changes are needed in the head topic - write me a PM

Hey guys.. Dev needs some help...Is there anyone who can be on hand to sort coding jobs ?

Also:  Can anyone look at drafting a new website.. The current one is OK for now, but have a look at the new coins out there which have really slick sites: They are doing well on their presentation alone.

Qubit could really benefit from a PR campaign now.  I am willing to write content.

Seems that krecu lives in Ukraine. We know the things happened in this country these days. Best wishes to him.

I have offered to rewrite the website to give it a better presentation.

Unable to withdraw ANI from Comkort anyone?
It says 'Attention: account.client.low_balance' even though I'm withdrawing more than 30k ANI?

i had that problem as well.
then i just payed out 1 ani less then i had on comkort and it worked Smiley

so if you have 30 000k. Set withdraw to 29 999. it worked for me Smiley

It works! Thanks!

Comkort take a tiny fee from the withdrawal, included in the amount, so you have to cover that in the figure you ask for !

SO what is needed to get it to show the total network hash?

I am hoping the dev might be able to answer that one...

With novel algo coins it usually takes a bit more skill and time to provide the needed stats and infrastructure.  CASH is a unique build, so patience is required !

I'm afraid that we need more than 1 BTC of donations to get listed on Mintpal and that we are unable to collect that amount... I have some ideas, interested can contact me on PM.

You can donate direct to Mintpal. It counts as votes...so if any community was serious ($$$ serious)  about a listing, their coin will get one.

Question (to which I cannot see the answer in this thread)

When the limit of 248 Million coins is reached what happens ?  Is there a minimum indefinitely continuing block reward (inflation ), or does mining stop ?

on sunday morning before the new wallet was released I transformed 205Q2C from cpu-pool and it went in my wallet fine . after I updated to the new wallet a few hours after it says that transaction is unconfirmed 0/6 I figured I would give it a few days and hopefully it would confirm but still has not . this is my transaction id 9c09f36f1b6ec1b6a6666889d6f8a3bb451a6387b474121fa46c931cd078d3bf-000. I tried looking it up but couldn't fined anything . would someone be able to help me figure this out its going to really piss me off if somehow it got lost in the system when that problem was happing

Transaction its stuck, You have to rescan wallet instructions at www.Qubitcoin.net Wiki, after running script let it run for a good half hour to hour and transactions should get caught up.

http://qubitcoin.net/wordpress/wiki/qubitcoin-nodes/rescan-qt-wallet

This happens with all coins. A very few Transactions get stuck... usually they go through on their own eventually.

The name of this coin is so cool I have to buy some. It has stuck in my head since I first saw it a couple of months ago. The project is quite interesting from a technical perspective as well.

WTB 2 BTC, please PM offers, .0011 BTC/CGB or less. Reputation thread at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=436065.0 . Escrow or seller goes first, smaller increments OK.

Buy on Cryptsy. Withdraw immediately if you don't trust them.

First i would like to thank all the developers for all their hard work on the Qubit. My involvement in this coin was from the start and put the www.Qubticoin.net website up when it looked like no one was willing to publish a site but just talk about it. The site is the first listing on google and page views continue to go up. My initial interest in the coin was mostly in its CPU mining only and new Algo. Will GPU mining on this coin work, will have to see. Other interest is in its halving rate right now the coin has a great difficulty and block's are at 512. But the main website and the title page here dose not mention anything about it and still shows blocks at 2056. Coin buyers and price should be reflected by the block payout, but the website and forums lead investors to think its still at 2056. This is what investors deciding to purchase will continue to take into account when deciding how much they are willing to invest or pay for this coin, I know i check this info when deciding to buy into a new coin. My point is that PR need's to be a little better, the coin need's PR people who are well versed at English and can help the developers by leaving more time for them to develop the coin and not having to deal with creating silly logos. As far as the logo, its very silly in my opinion and has no connection or symbolism to Qubit. But it is what it is this point and has potential to work, just needs an update to look more professional looking along with some logo's and promo logo's for websites and posts. One thing that it does have is that its non-coin looking and stands out like a sore thumb next to other coins.

This coin has great future and it now time to take it further Qubitcoin.net now has close to 300 members and is growing faster and faster each week. So their is good interest still in the coin. Page views are showing this! Anyone interested in helping out with the site PM me as always, its the communities site, i have just been hosting it for you. I would like to see though a header created with the logo that i can use for the site. Also anyone wanting to take over a forum, create an account and PM me here.

Good Luck to all and thanks for the ride so far!

+1

The Logo is Distinctive... That is fine. A Cube with Q2C on it...looks good to me. If the Community is able to come up with a better alternative in time, then that is fine also.

Would look at the Forum with interest, but the address doesn't work for me (no page).. edit.. please change the link !!! you reversed two characters

I am buying here, but not enough quantity for sale. Read my posts.
Sorry, I do not quite understand English. I just can not understand why you are not buyers on the exchange, where the sale of 6,000,000 coins hanging. Do you want to buy cheaper than there?

Look at the exchange. There are no coins for sale at under 100 satoshis, and if I want 500k, I have to pay up to 180 satoshis.

That is how markets work. The 'Last' price is irrelevant if there is low volume traded.
