Chris Haynes is reporting that Portland is refusing to speak to Miami about a Damian Lillard trade now. Apparently they are tired of negotiations they believe are taking advantage of them and have tasked Miami with putting together a multiple team trade without any communication from them. That’s unlikely to succeed in my opinion.

The question is, who will get the trade they want? Harden to the Clippers or Dame to the Heat? Maybe both or neither?
2242  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [11.2kW SOLAR/WIND/MAN] NastyMining Green Energy Project ☀️💨💪🔋 on: September 23, 2023, 04:00:23 PM
It’s been a couple years since I’ve updated information relating to this project. I should probably do that soon. It’s pretty amazing how much of an impact having alternative energy production at home for the last 6 years has had, not just on my bills but also the environment when I look at the statistics. Hopefully bitcointalk will get their image displaying issue resolved so the information here isn’t lost.
2243  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 23, 2023, 06:40:02 AM
I received the email today confirming the mtgox rumor going around that they will not be distributing any BTC until October of 2024. This is good news for people who were worried about a crash incoming as it kicks this downward pressure down the road a bit. I suspect by then we’ll have an ETF and prices will already be on the way up.

got the email too. not exactly they said - those whose payment info is good could get payouts as early as the end of this (2023) year. for those whose info could not be verified the repayment period will be stretched out to october 2024.

this is at least better than holding everyone who does have good info in the system up, which is what they have been doing.

but i will believe that when i have the coin in my own wallet.

Ya, when it comes to mtgox I always assume that deadline=expected payout date. I do hope you’re right and we get our funds sooner, but I wouldn’t rule out another delay either. For me personally, I would consider this a sign that the ETF approval will beat the mtgox distribution but I could of course be wrong. Just a guess on my part.
2244  Economy / Economics / Re: If They Can Pay off their Debts, Why Don't They? on: September 23, 2023, 02:45:00 AM
I don’t understand why it is assumed that government can pay their debts. In the case of the US, even if they could make money magically appear without any added debt, inflation would cause prices to go up by like 175% overnight given the increased cash in circulation. We have reached the point where governments paying off debt is not possible.
2245  Economy / Economics / Re: Early Retirement [Pros and Cons] on: September 23, 2023, 02:42:49 AM
I don’t think anybody truly retires young, they just stop having to work for people for money. Most of the “retired” people I know have replaced their jobs with other things. Sometimes relationships with people, sometimes hobbies, sometimes with a new business they run themselves for fun. I think retirement isn’t exactly a black or white thing.

Elon today tweeted that he has driven the “performance” model of the Cybertruck. I’m not sure exactly what that means but Elon described it as “kicks ass next-level” which I think is a good sign. I’m still anxiously awaiting any information about options or communication on how the purchasing process will go, but hopefully that information is revealed in the coming weeks.

2247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 23, 2023, 02:08:06 AM
What does everybody think about Paddy vs Ferguson in Las Vegas for UFC 296? It seems to me like they’re trying to give Paddy a big name that he can actually beat given that I thought Ferguson already retired. I still think Ferguson will win though. Paddy didn’t look good in his last match and Ferguson is no easy victory.
2248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Using change addresses does not increase privacy, just fees on: September 22, 2023, 11:45:48 PM
There are levels to privacy right? So while you are correct that using change addresses isn’t going to fool the FBI into thinking you aren’t holding funds, it might fool the casual observer. There are downsides to using change addresses too when it comes to backing up funds. For most users I think the simplicity of using a single address would probably be advised.
2249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When Gamblers Fail to Read a Casino's Terms and Conditions on: September 22, 2023, 11:43:36 PM
You make a good point that man disagreements here would have been seemingly not an issue had the user read the terms and conditions beforehand. However, who reads the terms and conditions? We all know that nobody does. So there are certain accepted practices and expectations that users have, although sometimes even those are unrealistic.

You want news everyone about Dwight Howard's development together with the Golde State Warriors? Here's what we've got.

Warriors Will Not Sign Dwight Howard After Two-Day Visit, per Report

Warriors pass on signing Dwight Howard to maintain roster flexibility, per report

Many thought that it's like 99% of him signing on the current roster of the Warriors but then, that little percentage of failing prevailed.

Man, that’s a bummer. I wonder what went wrong. It seemed like a done deal. Those reports seem like they’re from accurate sources though. Dwight Howard seemed like a perfect fit for them. He must either still be a chaotic individual off the court, or old age has come at him fast. He was just winning a championship ring 3 years ago.

Looking at the pictures of yesterday’s workout with the Warriors, it appears like they are are more concerned with Dwight Howard’s conditioning than his basketball skills. I think this is a good sign that he will be a Warrior next season. Usually during these workouts you see a lot of basketball drills and less conditioning workouts. Unless Dwight did something inappropriate yesterday (entirely possible) I think we’ll see a deal announced soon.

Phoenix news is reporting that the Dallas Mavericks made a trade offer to the Phoenix Suns for DeAndre Ayton but it apparently was a very bad offer so they declined. I’m actually glad they did and hope they hold onto him. I think Ayton was a big part of their run for the Finals and with a new coach I’m expecting him to have a big year.
2254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 21, 2023, 10:16:24 PM
You’re all tripping about Dwight Howard. He was forced out of the league because of his sideline and locker on behavior, not because he stopped being an elite center. He’s getting older sure, but he’s still a top 10 center in the league.

Portland trying to force Damian Lillard to training camp. I’m sure he’ll cooperate, but it’s not a good look. Haven’t heard much about the Harden drama lately.
2255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Repayment Deadline Increased for the MT Gox Exchange’s Creditors on: September 21, 2023, 08:44:55 PM
I’m wondering where they got that information and how true it is. I haven’t seen any notification of such. Maybe I should go check my mail, but typically these sorts of notifications are done over email and I usually receive them before seeing news articles like this. So for now I’m taking this news with a grain of salt, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it were true.
2256  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you take water intake seriously? on: September 21, 2023, 08:41:20 PM
Most people are not aware of the importance of water. Some believe its better to drink softdrinks.
Same with food, quality is not important for most.

I think people know the importance of water, they just don’t care. I’m sure we all know people who live on soft drinks. It’s just that people think companies wouldn’t sell them products if they were bad for them. It’s actually no different than people thinking the government wouldn’t do anything to hurt them. Thats why I avoid tap water. I think if people saw the pipes carrying that water or read their water reports, they’d avoid it too.
2257  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian-Ukrainian war of 2022- ... for the salvation of the World on: September 21, 2023, 02:49:28 PM
It looks like Poland has finally had enough of this proxy war. They have announced that they will not be sending any more weapons to Ukraine. They even likened the situation to a drowning man being dangerous to save because of the potential for them to grab you and drown you along with them. Seems the world is starting to wake up.
2258  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if there is no crypto bull run for next 10 years ? on: September 21, 2023, 02:03:43 PM
I think if there wasn’t a bull run every four years then Bitcoin would struggle. Now that it’s taken the stance of being digital gold, its main selling point is that it goes up in price against the dollar. As soon as a 4-year cycle passes without a new high, I think a lot of speculators would abandon the market causing a falling feedback loop. As digital gold isn’t useful if it doesn’t hold value.
2259  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 21, 2023, 02:01:39 PM
Let's not get ahead just yet. Dwight Howard is not yet signed with the Golden State Warriors just yet but he got the approval of most veterans of the team so it's a good sign.

IMO, I like to see him play one more time in the NBA. I want to see that bully ball that he played against Nikola Jokic and every big man in the league.
I don't really care if he scores or not, just that mere defensive strength will get my hopes high about him. He may be seasoned but he can still play and looking at his physical attributes, he still got it.
It will just depend on Coach Kerr if he will give him the minutes if ever the Warriors management will sign him even for a veteran contract.

If today’s workout with Green and CP3 goes well, I think he’ll be a Warrior. I’m excited about it not just from a defensive end, but for what he brings to the table on offense. I thought having a roll to the basket alley-oop threat has been missing since they got rid of JaVale McGee. Dwight would likely open up things for Curry and Klay to get more looks.
2260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 21, 2023, 02:35:21 AM
Draymond Green had this to say on Twitter (x) about a report that Dwight Howard has been given the all clear to join the Warriors by the vets and will be working out with Dray and CP3 tomorrow.

https://x.com/money23green/status/1704666006696960078

That sure does make it seem like Dwight Howard is going to get another shot in the NBA with the Warriors. That could cause problems for the rest of the league.
