3161  Economy / Economics / Re: If you can get paid through cryptocurrency, do you still choose fiat currency? on: August 02, 2021, 03:43:17 PM
Many companies are also considering allowing their employees to choose to receive partial or full compensation in the form of cryptocurrency. If you can get paid through cryptocurrency, which one would you choose? If the boss pays in Bitcoin, would you want it? Or you continue to prefer to pay in fiat currency to facilitate the purchase of tokens you like.
Do you think cryptocurrency payment will be a new trend in the future?

Personally, I would divide my profit like 70% cash then the remaining 30% for cryptocurrency.

Unfortunately, in the Philippines, any income earned should be paid in our legal tender- which is cash. If an employee receives anything that is not cash as income, it will be prohibited under the law. Assuming that Congress has amended the Labor Code and allowed cryptocurrency to be paid as income, then I would happily embrace it. But, the key here is by dividing your income to like a ratio of 70/30 or 80/20.

Receiving all of your income as cryptocurrency can be definitely risky on your part due to its volatility. In addition, the company also falls on the risk of losing more amounts of cash due to cryptocurrencies volatility.
3162  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: obstacles for jr member rankings "signature" on: August 02, 2021, 03:01:00 PM
when someone reaches jr.member rank it will be difficult to find a Signature project for him, if you know of any good signature projects please help us on this topic to help other jr.member

thank you

What is your purpose of joining this forum? Are you eager to rank-up in order to participate in campaign signatures? Bear in mind that in order to rank-up, you definitely have to contribute something valuable or interesting to warrant any merits from the members in the forum.

The problem with most newbies is that they focus too much on ranking-up while compromising their post quality. Remove that kind of mindset and change it to a more proactive purpose- which is actual contribution. The more you chase on merits, the more that the latter would avoid you and members would be inclined to ignore your posts.

If you really intend on ranking-up, then focus again on actual contribution. In that way, merits would be the one chasing your account.
3163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Women in Gambling on: August 02, 2021, 02:16:43 PM
You just have to go to a local landbase casino and see how many women are into gambling. Also, it's more of a partner thingy, if the husband is onto gambling, 90% of it their wife or girlfriend are also into gambling. So yeah, there are no boundaries, some can become professional poker players and can even compete with me. And so with any other sports as well, women/ladies also succeed. So gambling is not a all male dominated industry.

I remember back in 2018, I used to accompany my brother to casinos where I would be the one to stop him from his gambling sprees. Based on my observation, there are actually lots of women who gamble on casinos. Usually, these women are accompanied by some rich Chinese guy who let those woman play on their behalf.

In addition, there were also some arcade games here in the Philippines where some people bet their money (Tom's world- racing game). Mostly, women participate and spend most of their time betting inside the arcade.

The bottomline is- gender is irrelevant as to gambling. Anyone can bet either for entertainment or for profit. It just depends upon the individuals need at the time being.
3164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Idea of Bitcoin As A Religion on: August 02, 2021, 01:06:43 PM
Well, have you thought about this idea that Bitcoin can be like a religion too? With some level of fanaticism, there can be people who are considering the Bitcoin community like a cultish one but then again all form of organization in varying degree has this energy and can even be used as a bonding agent. Now, in my opinion, while this idea can be a big welcome to some, this can also turned off those people who are not inclined to take up religious matters into their lives.

What's your opinion on this matter?

No and it never crossed my mind that people could happen to worship money as their basis of their religion.

What makes BTC so valuable is its high price on the market and its volatility. Due to its nature, people have associated it in making it the perfect investment either for short-term (high volatility) and long-term. Now if people, for some reason, worshipped BTC due to its potential, then it is almost the same as worshipping money- which is temporary in nature.

Imagine Satoshi's reaction if he were to read this. The purpose of this invention was to remove any third-party intermediaries and to see that it has evolved now to becoming a religion, that would definitely drive his mind crazy.
3165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: August 02, 2021, 08:03:06 AM

Glad to see PH will once again take a chance for a possible 2 Gold Medal both by boxing (men and women division). These 2 are now assured of a bronze or silver medal regardless.

If they will successfully snatch it, first time again in PH Olympic history. Few medals compare to other countries but a big achievement as PH is not really expected to bag a medal even a bronze one.

Searching on what sports we are able to take a good shot, it's boxing. A total of 7 out of 13 medals in history came from boxing after the final tally.
I do hope that we will see a second and hopefully a third gold but given that their opponents are really good, I think that they will have a hard time fighting, I root more on Nesthy, if she continues her aggressive approach like what she did to Italy I think that she will be able to make it but she has to be careful because a counter could end everything for her.

More than anything, I just hope that Nesthy takes the win here for our 2nd Gold Medal in the country. But even if she losses, her guaranteed medal is enough to acknowledge her skill and prowess. Imagine, most of our olympians received little to no support from the government and the latter relatively demands so much from them.

I do hope that after this year's olympics, our government will acknowledge the need to support financially these olympians since it requires so much effort, time, and resources to produce world-class athletes that compete with other athletes around the globe.

Perfect start from Norris and Bottos shoot out all two RedBull with Norris as shot.

Now there is safty car already after the first lap. The cards are reshuffled, but the race already starts badly for Max, no luck for Verstappen and RedBull. So already red flag... And restart later.

Man, that was a heartbreaking race for both the RedBulls and Norris. Man, seeing Seb finishing 2nd and going to the podium makes me really emotional as it kinda reminds me of his glory days in RedBull.

Nevertheless, congratulations to Esteban for winning this Hungarian Grand Prix! He was really consistent on this race and it showed his skill throughout the race. Lastly, the battle between Hamilton and Alonzo was a sight to behold- Alonzo still has it.
3167  Economy / Economics / Re: What is better - cryptocurrency trading or investing? on: August 01, 2021, 08:08:51 PM
I have been a day trader but want to know if it’s a good idea to hold bitcoin for long, whether it will be more profitable?

Depends but like what I previously mentioned to questions like this one, beginner day traders lose 97% of their investment and only 3% earn as much as a bank teller. If you aim for long-term, I highly suggest that you focus on investing than trading.

Remember that day trading can be profitable but the risks are so high that a beginner trader may put himself in a lot of risks. If you have any prior experience as to trading, then you can do both trading and investing at the same time. But if you have no knowledge or anything whatsoever in trading, then I highly suggest that you HODL for long-term than day trading.
3168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies price and their effect on gambling industry on: August 01, 2021, 06:18:05 PM
I can only speak for myself. Actually if I could only turn back time, I think I wouldn't have used my precious Bitcoin or even Ethereum and other major altcoins for gambling. Those crypto amounts I had squandered on gambling used to be small amounts. But now, they are already worth a fortune to me. Having said this, I think the fast rise of crypto prices could somehow discourage some gamblers from spending their crypto. However, with the features unique to crypto, other gamblers might still stick to it.

I definitely agree with this statement.

This is true- if I could also turn back time, I would not use my BTCs as the currency for my online gambling spree. When I joined this forum last 2017, some of the proceeds that I received from participating in campaign signatures went straight to some gambling websites. To cut the story short, I lost like 0.05 BTCs before. If we were to convert its price now, 0.05 BTCs = $2,000 but before, it's converted USD price was below $100.

Lesson learned- if possible, always avoid betting your precious BTCs since you will never know that its price may skyrocket again 5-10 years from now.
3169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PRE][RIP] ⚡⚡ CHETOC+TREECHAIN ⚡⚡ Real Investment Provision on: August 01, 2021, 11:13:40 AM
And once again about the benefits. The main and main thing is a huge number of settings, which contributes to the formation and launch of the game in more than 1000 different formats. Moreover, knowledge is not particularly needed, and time is saved by tens of hours.

Hi, thank you very much for your quick response.

As someone who plays online chess frequently, having multiple game formats can be really exciting as it gathers more players exploring the said unfamiliar territory. I remember, I read somewhere in reddit that the main programmer of lichess (he held an AMA) mentioned that he does not plan on making other game formats due to its complexity.

While I do think that this project is very ambitious with its vision and mission, I nevertheless support it; I really look forward to its creation and implementation. When can we expect this project to materialize?
3170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will physical casinos accept crypto someday? on: July 31, 2021, 05:08:00 PM
It is still a process that is still opening up. The system is not totally free now as you still have restrictions even with online casinos that ask for KYC. Physically, you have some government making hate speech about cryptocurrency except the government that are adopting like El Salvador, it can commence from there but is a gradual process and casino is yet to be a popular physically gambling setting to start adoption of cryptocurrency. It could take more 5-10 years for that to start happening.

I think the process of achieving acceptance of cryptocurrencies solely depends on the government. If they see that cryptocurrencies are a threat to the economy or to the country, then this would affect its overall acceptance. This also applies to physical casinos in accepting cryptocurrencies as a payment.

Like what you have mentioned, lots of online gambling websites require KYC documents due to stringent regulations imposed by their respective government. Since online gambling websites can easily get away due to their nature, physical casinos, on the other hand, have much further stringent rules- that is why we won't see physical casinos accepting cryptocurrencies in the near future.
3171  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Expose] Autocash.live Ponzi Project on: July 31, 2021, 03:15:13 PM
Somehow I feel these threads act more as an advertisement for the ponzi schemes than a warning for users. If someone actually invests in 20% hourly, I can't imagine they don't know it's a scam.

While I do respect your opinion, I do disagree with your statement.

Remember that this forum has lots of traffic from people who are not even a member in this forum. Supposing that they are curious about a certain project, they can utilize the search bar function and search the said ponzi project. If they happen to see that someone reported it, it would definitely help them avoid investing into it.

That is why, I find posts like these useful not only to veteran members but also to newbies as well. In addition, all of us started as newbies and seeing projects that offer high returns can trick us.
3172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Need beginner guide in gambling. on: July 31, 2021, 12:29:44 PM
I picked interest in Gambling recently and I love playing for fun, but lately, I lost most of the games this has made me lose some money and I would like to learn how to gamble.

I will appreciate anyone who can help with a guide or share a link to where I can learn how to gamble for beginners.

Hmm, I think gambling, in general, has no specific guide. Remember that the nature of gambling involves around "risk" and "odds" and there cannot exist a guide that can help you specifically with gambling.

There may be some guides in poker, blackjack, etc. but those guides focus more on the gameplay and some tips on lowering the risks. But a guide that caters specifically to gambling involve only some pre-cautionary measures (i.e. self-control, discipline, etc.).
3173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PRE][RIP] ⚡⚡ CHETOC+TREECHAIN ⚡⚡ Real Investment Provision on: July 31, 2021, 08:19:10 AM
Just a quick question, what notable differences can you offer against other competitive chess online websites (i.e. lichess, chess24, and chess.com)? The problem with most online chess websites is having the dedicated number of people playing on your website. Most online chess websites offer subscriptions that provide you access with chess engines for checking and other tutorial modes as well.

However, I do see the potential of having tournaments in attracting players. The problem that I see is that, classical chess format held online can be quite dangerous due to the presence of chess engines. So, how will you address these issues?
3174  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Differential treatment of grades on: July 30, 2021, 05:54:03 PM
If I had any bias towards members, it would most definitely towards their received merit rather than their rank specifically. There are a good number of people here that has a Senior/Hero/Legendary rank, but is only acquired before the merit system; with them having little to no received merit.

Newbies with received merit > Senior/Hero/Legendary members with little to no received merit

I definitely agree with your statement.

I think the differential in treatment is focused more on the merits earned rather than the ranking of the forum members. Remember that some of the legendary users in the forum ranked up before the merit system was introduced. All of the high ranking members who started in this forum after the implementation of the merit system deserve all the recognition and praise as they literally climbed their way up to the forum.

Like what mk4 mentioned, if there are any biases, it would be to users who earned a significant amount of merits on a relatively short of amount of time.
3175  Economy / Economics / Re: Can cryptocurrencies replace fiat currencies on: July 30, 2021, 05:26:24 PM
Short answer: NO
Long answer: VERY POSSIBLE

The short answer is NO because fiat has been categorized by the whole world as the legal tender in our daily transactions. In order for fiat to be replaced by something different, all countries must first agree to the change and they must also view it as the main source or instrument for their transactions.

The long answer is YES because in the far future where digitalized transactions may take over, cryptocurrencies, along with the blockchain technology, is just more efficient and safe in the transactions. Having to pay digitally would be the convenient road to take in which the future may adopt.
3176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Exposed to children on: July 30, 2021, 05:04:36 PM
It's true that is not good for children exposed to gambling at an early stage. They can't even find the money of their own, its going to be worse if they become addicted.

The big question is where they will get the money to play the gambling ? You cannot play gambling without money and in some cases, you cannot even make an account if you are a miner. So in case any child is playing gambling, then it is the fault of his/her parents who have allowed them to do so.

I think money is not an issue as there are some children who have their own moneys from their parent's credit card or their personal savings.

I would not entirely blame their family either since curiosity goes a long way to a determined individual. Regardless, I do agree that there must be some sort of intervention done by the parents. Their primarily responsibility is the well-being of their children, that is why preventing the children from falling to this rabbit hole is a big task that must be shouldered by the parents.

3177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin losing its importance on: July 30, 2021, 10:55:55 AM
I think nowadays is not really different with what happened in past when "china accept bitcoin", then price pumped and then "china ban bitcoin, or maybe big countries ban bitcoin" then price will really fast to get dumped. Can't resist market is really affected by something like that like news that come or maybe influencer who talk about it, if me maybe i will just accept that fact, or maybe if i can, i take it as opportunity to made profit.
Well, from all the news and various things that affect the price of bitcoin.. it proves that Bitcoin still survives and shows its strong side in price movements because there are still many people who believe in bitcoin and put hope in it. And of the many things that affect the price.. of course it still can take a gap can provide a wide opportunity to gain a profit.

I think many people have been associating the 'fall of bitcoin' to its price on the market. Though I do understand that it is the main indicator, many still have been taking for granted its actual use- removing third-party intermediaries.

The blockchain technology will be the key in the future of transactions. As long as BTC remains relevant in the years to come (which I truly believe so), then we can expect a shift to digital transactions in the far future.
3178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Exposed to children on: July 30, 2021, 05:04:06 AM
These days I'm seeing many Youtubers and Twitch streamers are promoting Gambling websites [Dice, Sports Betting] and Poker Apps.

I know it's ok to gamble for having fun and socially but I don't think young people should be exposed to this when they're in school.
Most of them will only imagine "What 'IF' i win 1000x of this amount and i'll be able to do this and that"

Hmm I do agree with your point as there must be a line to draw on which projects to promote.

The problem with most YouTubers is that their influence is so huge that most of their subscribers are underaged children. In addition, if they try to promote a gambling website (which provides them revenue in return), children would be exposed to gambling which gives the latter the curiosity to try them. This is actually a dilemma on both sides in which I have no clue on how to balance them.
3179  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Businesses in Manila accepting crypto as payment (hotels groceries, cars, houses on: July 29, 2021, 05:03:53 PM
A website with updated information was a really good idea. But I think its not easy to achieve or implemented. From what I know, there are no business establishment accepts bitcoin as mode of payment. It was still risky because its fluctuation can possibly lead to losses. But maybe in the future, it can happen because the people who are using digital currencies to purchase something increases every day so if it continues, a business that can use bitcoin will start and continue

Actually, nasa discretion ng business if they were to accept any cryptocurrencies as a mode of payment.

As far as I know, there is one milk tea shop near Las Piñas that accepts this certain type of altcoin (I forgot which altcoin) as payment for their milk tea. In addition, tumatanggap din si dragonpay ng BTC then convertible to PHP na siya agad. The more businesses na mag accept as payment ng BTC, mas lalong mahihikayat din ang other businesses na tumupad nito.

Pero like what I have mentioned, since volatile ang price ng BTC, nasa discretion talaga ng business to kung gusto nila gawin itong alternative mode of payment.
3180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet on climbing challenges on: July 29, 2021, 01:46:05 PM
These games aren't much known. Spending on these kind of little known games will be truly fun filled, because we can't make predictions as we make with a soccer, tennis or some other games. Anytime the change can happen, and so will be the end result. I had a thought these are just adventure events that are being practiced for long term and executed. Now only came to know, there is games organised on it.
Exactly , There is nothing in comparable to this game, I love Climbing mountains/rocks when i was in college and wishing to comeback those years that i can do exactly what i can do in the past.

But certainly , I will bet on this Climbing events.

I remember I watched this film called 'Free Solo' where Alex Honnold climbed El Capitan without any ropes or life-saving gear! When that filmed released, I think it had an impact on climbing challenges in general in attracting more audience to the sport.

I do see the potential of climbing challenges becoming as a source of gambling maybe in the future. Since its audience are very much niche, the sport becomes more and more popular over the years. Assuming that there is an available bet on climbing challenges, I will definitely participate on it.
