2181  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto is safe heaven not against volatility but as store value on: April 07, 2022, 11:47:44 PM
If military attacking ur home ur gold or silver even house will be gone most likely the bank building gone all the local structures gone only thing is left crypto its in the internet it does not have o ne speficic location
So in chaos crypto is only way to keep wealth u might have.
But only thing is ....those btc wallets must have some servers physical locations or they cloud based ??

While I do agree with you, it is still advisable if you could keep your assets focused into multiple locations as having physical cash/assets are still better. The problem with cryptocurrencies is that its price could be extremely volatile in the face of war and crisis. Exchanges run also the risk of having scammed/hacked by hackers given that they exists primarily in the internet. Everything is at risk and that is why it is essential to keep and have a contingency.

Lastly, physical assets always have value regardless of the current situation. While BTC may be a good store of value due to its high price in the market, lots of things could escalate that could effect its price in the market.
2182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you, or would you ever use a Bitcoin ATM? on: April 07, 2022, 11:30:22 PM
I've seen them pop up all around me, in small convenience stores and even restaurants. I was wondering if it's a good option to buy a gift for someone else, or are the fees too high and it's not worth it? Also I'm not sure how it works but figuring they give you a private key, and how safe is that?

I do not think so given that our local exchange (here in the Philippines) already offers services that suit my convenience.

Unlike international exchanges like Binance, our local exchange (coins.ph) offer services that are very convenient on our part. For example, we have an instant conversion of BTC to our local currency; and we can pay our monthly bills using such money. In addition, we can also purchase any products/services under our desired need and we can also directly transfer our funds to our bank accounts.

The only downside is, the transaction fees and conversion rates are relatively high; and KYC documents are somehow strict which requires us to send our monthly ITRs, etc.
2183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does staking even make any sense on: April 07, 2022, 03:37:53 PM
How do people even enjoy staking their coins and tokens? I'm confused, yesterday I tried to stake some amount of stable coin aka USDT on Binance Exchange and it is worth 1000$ but the return on this in a year is 95$ lol, I laughed so hard that I almost flipped my laptop, why the heck people doing this?.

People have more than money than you imagine people with million dollar and staking it without doing anything and get 9.5% in return. Also it is important to look at the APY not all coins have the same APY so you should consider that too.

Imagine a scenario where you have $100 on your bank and you attempted to invest it. Unfortunately, the legal interest rate (as far as I know in the Philippines) is around 6% annually and you would receive merely $6 by the end of this year. The investment you made may sound relatively small but imagine if you were some rich millionaire who has millions of funds stored without any use.

Applying the example above, the more money you stake the higher the returns would be. It is just a matter on how much capital you are willing to risk in a given exchange for staking.
2184  Economy / Gambling / Re: Do you want to be an admin of an online casino? on: April 07, 2022, 02:54:17 PM
<snip>
I also thought you are just looking for an admin for your site.
I looked around your site, it is not good, just pure honesty. I think you have to be more serious on the development of your gambling site before you look for your investors. I believe you will have a hard time looking for any investor if your site is like that. Can't even log in, create an account, play anything. Regardless, goodluck Smiley

I visited the gambling website and noticed on how incomplete the website is. Like what most have also pointed out, the part where you are asking for a "manager" for administration does not equate to your thread, as you are looking for an investor. When you mean by a manager, it somehow implies that he/she will manage or be under the administration of managing the affairs of some gamblers.

One last thing to point out, what you need is an investor and a web-designer. Though I acknowledge your effort in creating this self-made website, it still needs a lot of work in order to compete with the titans of gambling websites available in the internet. Good luck, OP.
2185  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scammers show no mercy, this is how serious crypto investment has become on: April 07, 2022, 01:07:11 PM
Yea.. large scale hackers sure made a lot of money, but I think your claim is a bit too far-fetched.

Guess what — scammers will always exist, inside and outside of the cryptocurrency space. Nothing is going to save people from scams than to stop being so naive and delusional.

I agree with you- scammers exists regardless of any platform. As long as greed exists, then scammers would continue to operate as long as they have the opportunity for it. Then again, the only way that these scammers win is when beginners or naive people fell to their prey; that is why it is nothing but imperative to do any research about a certain project/giveaway before fully committing.

Lastly, be careful with some projects that may seem genuine on paper. There are also lots of projects that cloak themselves with tons of genuine materials but are rotten to their core- though this kind of scam is relatively harder to detect, one must always exercise caution nonetheless.
2186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if all cryptocurrencies merged together? on: April 07, 2022, 12:35:22 PM
What if all cryptocurrencies merged together? Cuz if it merges, then the price of Bitcoin would pass $100,000? The market cap would be at $3 trillion dollars but what will the price be for 1 coin?

By theory if all cryptocurrencies were merged together, I think the effect would be minuscule to the point that most will not even realize that such happened. Before the creation of all altcoins, Bitcoin was the first crypto that entered and introduced everything. Its fundamentals were somehow shared with other altcoins- so we can say that everything exists because of Bitcoin.

Now like what most have mentioned also, merging all cryptocurrencies into one would result to it becoming an investment opportunity for everyone where it would be at the same position when BTC was first introduced.
2187  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Crypto Signals trading on: April 06, 2022, 05:21:45 PM
Hello,
Does anyone know a very good Cryto signals group for scalping ?

I found so many, some are scam and some without results.

Unfortunately, crypto signals group would most likely tend to be a scam as they would highly likely take advantage of your naiveness to their profit. Given that the nature of cryptocurrencies primarily exists in the internet, most of groups would target newbies by providing attractive results and offers. But since you have mentioned that you personally found scams involved in such, then it is better to avoid.

If I were in your situation, I would trade less amounts of cryptos in order to gain experience. The latter is the key in order to attain a good quality of trades. Without experience, it is like going to war without any bullets- you would run into various of risks in losing your investment.
2188  Economy / Gambling / Re: PRIMEDICE weak self-exclusion system on: April 06, 2022, 03:42:04 PM
This post is not to recover my coins, (although I would like that), but to see the possibility that the sites begin to block not only the accounts, but also the IPs from which those accounts were connected.

Greetings to everybody and thanks

Before I begin, I would like to express my deepest regrets from your very unfortunate situation. While I do understand the conflict and difficulty of addressing your addiction, what you did is the first step towards your recovery. Since you already did the first step, which is to acknowledge and do something about your addiction, relapses are nothing but normal situations for a person undergoing such recovery.

With regard your issue, unfortunately, I doubt that gambling websites would do such a move. While there may be gambling websites that advocate in battling against addiction, they would never create a system where they would IP block a certain ISP as this would cost them tons of money. Again remember that these are businesses which aim to earn as much profit as possible.
2189  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph binenta ng Gojek kay Wei Zhou (Binance Ex-CFO) on: April 06, 2022, 03:15:54 PM
This is really interesting- so ang plan nila is to make coins.ph the so-called "Binance of South East Asia" with the recent acquisition nito.

As far as I know, meron nga din coinspro where doon nag trade mga tao at mas maganda and maliit yung price spread whenever you sell/buy doon. This is really interesting lalo na't convenience talaga ang habol natin kaya coins.ph ang ginagamit. Hopefully maging maganda ang impact at epekto nito in the long-run talaga.
2190  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm new here, Is it a scam or what? They ask me to invest $100 and after 24 hou on: April 06, 2022, 02:53:24 PM
They ask me to invest $100 and after 24 hours you win $2000

I took a picture of the conversation but I can't download the picture here

Oh unfortunately, you have fallen prey to one of the most alluring scams in the cryptocurrency world- which are called "ponzi-schemes."

Ponzi-schemes are projects that offer significant amounts of return in a short amount of time with a minimum required investment money. For example, they offer 50-100% return in around 1-6 months which require you to invest a minimum amount of money to their project. Obviously, the interest rates are very high but typically these projects are scams that can potentially run away with your money.

Unfortunately, I doubt that you would be able to return your money as this will now be an expensive learning lesson on your part.
2191  Economy / Economics / Re: Bad economy is not good for either super rich or very rich on: April 06, 2022, 01:53:17 PM
I tell you a surprise, bad economy is also not good for the poor nor for the middle class. Bad economy hits everyone, the only question is how hard. And in relative terms (not in absolute terms), the poor and the middle class always lose more than the rich when economy struggles. Therefore, I can only partially understand your argumentation.

Generally, if a country suffers from poor economic conditions, then being rich or being poor is of irrelevant matter as everyone is indeed affected in this issue. Like what has been mentioned, it is a matter of the degree of its impact on the people. Unfortunately, mostly people who are living from the average median household to the poverty line would feel the effects more compared to the rich people.

The difference is that, rich people have the security in case of poor economic conditions. They have assets that can be used as a form of security/collateral in the event of an economic crash. Unlike poor people, what they only have are their monthly wages and a relatively small amount of assets.
2192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Three thousand Bitcoin ATM Installed In first quarter Of 2022 on: April 06, 2022, 09:30:48 AM
About 20,000 Bitcoin ATM was installed in 2021 and that has not stopped as the have been an installation of over 3,000 Bitcoin ATM in the first quarter of the year 2022. This data was show on the news:
https://news.bitcoin.com/tracker-shows-close-to-3000-crypto-atms-were-installed-in-2022s-first-quarter/

Just a quick question for everyone, has anyone tried using any Bitcoin ATMs installed in your respective countries? Are the transaction fees high; and is the process also relatively fast? So how would this operate- the Bitcoin ATM would issue currency after such exchange?

Fortunately in the Philippines, our local exchanges offer instant conversion from Bitcoin to our currency (Peso) in which you can directly pay your bills or purchase any products/services. The only downside is, the conversion rates in our exchanges are abysmal to the point that the price gap compared when you purchase vs sell is just high.
2193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Free Gambling Course provided by OnlineGambling on: April 05, 2022, 04:16:37 PM
That's a lot of episodes to be watched.

For someone who wants to learn about it and has a lot of time then that's totally fine to get into it. But if you're a busy person then you can get back on that course again and again since it's just for free.

There could be a lot of people that won't agree to this course and will see that it's something bad because it's encouraging people to gamble.

I somehow agree with you that it is relatively time consuming about learning the basics and fundamentals of blackjack. I mean, if you have the time to go and listen to all the courses, then it would definitely be beneficial to you in the long-run especially if you plan on playing blacjack as your main gambling game. But if you are someone who wants to enjoy a quick game or some random card games, then listening the whole course would be a drag.

Again, this falls on your personal preference. The fact that an online gambling course was given and provided for free is truly a privilege and a blessing at the same time. While this may be the case, I advise people to actually go and watch it for better understanding of the game.
2194  Other / Meta / Re: How I can get high rank in BitcoinTalk ? on: April 05, 2022, 03:02:09 PM
Hello everybody

Can someone please explain to ne how The rank works and how i can make my rank level high ?
I need High rank for my business marketing

Thank you all for help  Wink

Like what most have mentioned already, there are tons of guides here in the forum on how you could increase your rank but it solely depends on your ability to create and share posts that are useful in the forum. If you plan on sharing pictures or images, then I suggest purchasing a copper membership as it gives you the perks as if you are a member rank, while being a newbie.

I visited your profile and noticed that you are allegedly selling accounts in the forum, which is prohibited under our forum rules. If you need a high rank for such business marketing, then I suggest that you avoid any shenanigans that could ruin further your reputation.
2195  Local / Pilipinas / Re: GCash offering crypto services soon on: April 05, 2022, 11:47:33 AM

Actually medyo totoo to. Ang KYC ng gcash hindi naman siya ganun ka complicated since you only need to send a selfie verification, your goverment-issued ID; and your phone number. Though in some cases, they also require you to present some bills indicating kung saan ka nakatira, pero this is for people na may gusto ng "custom" yung account and verification level nila.

In the event na gayahin ni GCASH yung KYC ni coins.ph na sobrang daming documents ang hinihingi (e.g. ITRs, BIRs, etc.), then baka mag backfire lang din sa kanila ito and yun nga, mag focus na lang yung iba sa Binance and/or sa coins.ph.

Quote
Yung mga wala lang magawa at naipit na sa pag gamit ng coins.ph meron kasing tamad aralin yung p2p ng binance kaya hanggang
ngayon coins.ph pa rin ang only option sa cash out at cash in ng crypto.

To be honest, what you are paying talaga sa coins.ph is yung convenience since connected lahat ito sa mga services (e.g. for cashing out, LBC, Palawan Express, etc.; and for cashing in, ministop, etc.). I just hope na yung convenience ng coins.ph ay magkaroon din sa GCash kasi based from my experience din, I always convert my BTCs sa cash then send mismo sa GCash.
2196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 30% tax on crypto income in INDIA on: April 05, 2022, 08:34:12 AM
This is what was mentioned in this website:

Quote
As revealed in the Union Budget, profits from trading in crypto and other virtual assets such as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) will be taxed at a flat 30% rate beginning in April.1

It seems that India has now regulated the taxing purposes of cryptocurrencies in their countries including all NFTs. This can definitely backfire such country especially that lots of their citizens are relying on cryptocurrencies for alternative means of earning money. Just a quick question, will the government be able to track down earnings from campaign signatures? I wonder on how will be the implementation of this law- like would they be strict as to really track down every cryptocurrency earning?

2197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Recent events should make everyone withdraw all their coins to their own wallets on: April 03, 2022, 11:25:02 PM
Just to add on the things mentioned, recently there has been a hacking of an exchange in Ronin where more than $600 million worth of ETH and USDC were stolen. The hacker allegedly cashed out in a centralized exchange where the team management was able to track it down. After tracing, they were able to at least freeze the account but around 6,000 ETH (out of 177,000 ETH); and around $25 million worth of USDC we’re absolutely stolen.

This is definitely a sign where people should keep their funds to their personal wallets, preferably a hardware one to at least add an extra layer of security in your funds.
2198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Axie Infinity’s $615 million crypto hack on: April 03, 2022, 10:49:41 PM
Hackers have stolen cryptocurrency worth almost $615 million from a blockchain project linked to popular online game Axie Infinity.
Ronin, a blockchain network that allows users to move funds in and out of the game this is where the crypto was stolen from.
Ronin said sky mavis working with major blockchain tracker Chainalysis to trace the stolen funds.

How it gonna affect axie infinity?
Can they get to hackers identity and bring them to justice?

As far as I know, the management was able to track down the accounts of where the funds were sent and they were able to manage to freeze the said accounts in order to avoid further transaction of the money from one place to another. Though this may be the case, the fact that another exchange was hacked means that regulations would be stricter and withdrawing money would be relatively harder from now.

My friend, who is currently active in doing Axie Infinity, told me that the price will stabilize around May but as far as now, withdrawing money still poses a problem due to Ronin's hacking.
2199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's preventing bitcoin from worldwide adoption? on: April 03, 2022, 05:54:07 PM
One of the biggest factors on what hinders BTC from worldwide adoption is the technology for it. Majority of the countries are below the poverty threshold, with third-world countries lacking the economic need for them to live. If BTC were to be adopted worldwide, then these people need the technology to transact, which is having at least a mobile phone for them.

Another thing that you mentioned are government policies and prohibitions. The government is obsessed with control- they need to at least know what we are doing and they also have to partake in their own regulations to see if something goes out of hand. That is why, some countries prohibit the utilization of cryptocurrencies due to the latter's freedom in transactions.
2200  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling Sites April Fool offers on: April 03, 2022, 05:40:46 PM
Is there any casino who is offering additional benefits or bonus on account of the April fool day ?
I would love to see casino offering things like "100% April fool bonus only for today"  or  "Deposit now and get April fool bonus" etc.

It may not have to be fake offers. Casino's can give us real offers on April's fool day.  Wink

This is a difficult situation for online gamblers if they see promotions listed on April Fool's Day.

Given the nature of April 1 as the annual joke, players are left with the hope of receiving some bonus on the gambling website if they see such offer. Since not everyone is aware of April Fool's Day, players may feel cheated if they register on a gambling website that offered something and the latter can get away with it by claiming that today is "April Fool's Day."

This is definitely a bad move for online gambling websites if they decided to hold such bonus. Even though they may offer something in return (though not necessarily the amount they advertised on such date), this would definitely bring more harm than good to their reputation.
