3181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet on climbing challenges on: July 29, 2021, 01:46:05 PM
These games aren't much known. Spending on these kind of little known games will be truly fun filled, because we can't make predictions as we make with a soccer, tennis or some other games. Anytime the change can happen, and so will be the end result. I had a thought these are just adventure events that are being practiced for long term and executed. Now only came to know, there is games organised on it.
Exactly , There is nothing in comparable to this game, I love Climbing mountains/rocks when i was in college and wishing to comeback those years that i can do exactly what i can do in the past.

But certainly , I will bet on this Climbing events.

I remember I watched this film called 'Free Solo' where Alex Honnold climbed El Capitan without any ropes or life-saving gear! When that filmed released, I think it had an impact on climbing challenges in general in attracting more audience to the sport.

I do see the potential of climbing challenges becoming as a source of gambling maybe in the future. Since its audience are very much niche, the sport becomes more and more popular over the years. Assuming that there is an available bet on climbing challenges, I will definitely participate on it.
3182  Economy / Economics / Re: Which area will develop after the epidemic? on: July 29, 2021, 01:21:05 PM
Of course, the countries that will develop rapidly after the pandemic are those that have a lot of resources, natural resources, human resources, as well as finances as well as a stable political situation, but it's rare for a country to have it all, so it's hard to guess which country will recover quickly, maybe China because they dominate many things in this world.

All countries are in a unknown territory right now- most countries are still adjusting to the effects of COVID. Other businesses as well have implemented a new work schedule which focuses on efficiency, while some businesses are still struggling to get back on track.

This question of OP is relatively difficult to answer as lots of countries are still under high-alert on their respective COVID infection index (especially with the new 'delta' variant). But what struck me the most are businesses that involve any type of service- specifically food delivery businesses. They are taking advantage of the 'new normal' where they cater delivery services.
3183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Combination of gambling and trading on: July 29, 2021, 08:48:27 AM
lately i have been stressed off and depressed because of lack of sleep, i just got my hand on so many thing and among those is trading and gambling this two activities requires lots of research and hard work which is time consuming, and am beginning to feel that am over doing it.
is any one in this category that can help me with advise on how to go about combining trading and gambling at the same time.

The best advice I could give to you is to focus into ONE activity at a time. You cannot juggle two worlds at the same time considering that gambling and trading are two different spaces that are different from each other.

Assuming that you would focus on TRADING, experience is the key. Since you have mentioned that you do research, then continue to do what you've been doing and disregard your ideas on gambling.

Assuming that you chose GAMBLING instead, I would warn you though. I do think that long-term gambling is not sustainable especially if you aim on earning profit due to its nature revolving around luck.
3184  Other / Meta / Re: Report Malware and Suspicious Links here so Mods can take Action ! on: July 28, 2021, 02:30:53 PM
From what i can see on the detection list from Virustotal there are a lot of false positive detections !

There is only 1 detection , but anyway the Thread is deleted already now if it is a serious project they will be asking why it was deleted .

Yup this is true.

Normally, I would check the windows wallet only for viruses in virus total. Upon checking it also, it only contained one false-positive result, so I tried downloading the Mac wallet also. To my surprise, it contained 14 detections (most are false-positive) but the fact that the thread has been deleted and the user just recently awoken, those evidences conclude that the wallet did contain some malware on it.

Thank you for going the extra mile and checking it, Lafu!
3185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling or playing? on: July 28, 2021, 02:22:44 PM
What type of effect may this game on underaged players?
I think there are different points of view in online games as a whole, online games can have positive effects, if minors do not play excessively.

Of course what's in the game play as we know there are positive and negative elements, that happens if judging from one point of view or from one side, online games look bad/negative, but from a positive point of view in online games, of course there are, for example: children can be entertained by activities in the games they play, can also stimulate children's brain activity and sportsmanship, so not all online games can have an impact on the bad, some have an impact on the good of the child himself, on condition that control and not overdo it.

I think the general rule is that, anything that is too much is detrimental and bad- this also applies to gambling and playing in general.

For underaged player, playing online games have its own share of positive effects on the individual. Like what YOSHIE mentioned, it stimulates the brain function of the player which improves their concentration ability, their focus, and their reflexes. But anything that is beyond the time limit imposed upon these children can be detrimental to their health.

Like in gambling, you can gamble away your resources but you should know when and how to stop. Without any self-control and discipline, this would lead to negative effects that would be very costly in the future.

Hi, are there any more information about the project?

In addition, I highly suggest that you provide a website that contains all of the information that one needs to know before they purchase your coins. If the website is still under construction, I also suggest that you include the necessary whitepaper, picture of team members and their respective links, and project address for full transparency.
3188  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: That feeling having your first merit on Bitcointalk on: July 26, 2021, 03:38:37 PM
<…>
Were it not for the fact that the OP is banned, probably for plagiarism as was stated here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1926895.msg57215380#msg57215380

Going from being overjoyed when receiving the first Merit, to being banned a few weeks later must be a bummer. "Pledging to create value" does conflict to a large extent with copying and pasting extracts, rather than trying to provide something more authentic (or at least adding the damn reference links ffs).

Seriously OP got banned? Man, what a roller coaster of emotions present in this thread.

There are lots of newbies who tried their very best to earn and receive merit but there are others who shortcut their way by plagiarizing articles without providing any links or sources. Unfortunately, if you want to earn a merit, you have to be original. Like what I previously mentioned, those who shortcut the process often suffers the consequences- as for OP, he deserved to be banned due to his plagiarism.

That's why now I'm skeptical of meriting newbies. A few weeks back, it happened to one guy that I merited; from Jr to Member. Within the next few hours, he blatantly plagiarized the contents of a crypto term page. *facepalm*

I think the reason on why you merit someone is highly due to the fact of the post/thread they contributed and not purely because of their rank. Although I do understand it is slightly a waste to send merits to someone who gets subsequently banned, the fact still remains that they've contributed something useful and that should be the redeeming factor.
3189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motivated by "breaking the code" on: July 26, 2021, 02:40:17 PM
I personally do not play slots, but do you think that is why people like slot machines? Short of breaking their code?

Nah, I know some of my friends who spent $2,000 in a single night doing slot machines and almost all of them failed or experienced breakeven.

If there exists an absolute code in which you could cheat or take advantage of the slot machine, then this news would definitely erupt and most gamblers would become millionaires by now. Those people who murmur or chant some words before they gamble can also be compared to rituals- it does not do anything to the machine but it gives a morale boost to the gambler.

If a person is under extreme pressure, he/she would do anything just to calm himself while betting. Those rituals may help calm their nerves but it does absolutely nothing to the machine as these are all governed by odds and luck.
3190  Economy / Economics / Re: Amazon will accept Bitcoin payment this year on: July 26, 2021, 01:48:37 PM
Wow! This is most certainly a big news indeed, Amazon is a giant online store with millions of subscribers all over the world, btc lovers will be thrilled with this very important piece of information, the ability to be able to use btc to shop in one of the biggest online store in the world would be a great advancement,  am also happy to hear this because I know directly or indirectly this will affect the price of btc in the long run, let the good news keeps rolling in.  Smiley

Definitely this is big news for bitcoin.

Imagine, millions of people have been using Amazon for online shopping and the fact that it now provides an alternative payment using BTC implies that more and more businesses have been seeing its potential for the future. This could actually affect the price of BTC to the point that it may increase in the next few weeks/months depending on the date of its implementation.

Nevertheless, even here in the Philippines, more and more online shopping websites have accepted BTC as a form of payment due to its convenience. Slowly but surely, the domination of cryptocurrencies would take over in the far future.
3191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ethics of boxing and gambling on: July 26, 2021, 12:42:22 PM
I know many people bet on boxing matches and I recently saw a post on an "slapping tournament". I was thinking that professional boxing is kind of questionable as a sport discipline and even more so as a gambling event. It is known that many boxers sustain long term effects of repeated micro-trauma and even some have been know to die in the ring. For all boxing fans and for others that may have a view on this, how is this being considered a fully legal activity being supported? And how is betting of people hitting each other being considered as legal and ethical in today´s world?

Betting on violence stems from the history of the romans- that is why they constructed the coliseum in order to witness such fights.

As time passed by, the violence lessened and it became what it is today. Fortunately, boxing is considered as a sport and it has been regulated over the years. The rules and restrictions are now strictly imposed and tight health waivers are signed- that is why I do not see any ethical reason on why boxing is considered unethical in terms of gambling.
3192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tokyo 2020 Men's Olympics Basketball Tournament on: July 26, 2021, 10:20:53 AM
France winning against the Team USA really surprises everyone. What's the odds by the way for the Team France here?

And just to clarify to others, Team USA still has a shot at the Gold medal. They just need to settle a win the next time as every win is necessary at their group.
Seeing them losing is kinda rare but I agree with what Fournier said in the interview that "They are better individually but they can be beaten as a team" LINK

Its their first loss in Olympics in 17 years that is why we are in a state where we are shocked whenever we see US team losing in the Olympics. After all, they are just like other players in other countries. They have good games and at the same time bad games. After what happened, I believe that US will bounce back in their next games. I believe in Coach Pop Smiley.

The problem with the US team is their team chemistry. Fournier is definitely right that individually, the US team is better. That is why, the US Team must be able to adapt and improve their ball rotation and trust to one another so the team could be a good oiled machine.

Imagine, the teams from the olympics have been practicing their craft as a team ever since. But in the case of US, they have been adding and adding players on the last minute which I think affected their performance as a whole.
3193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you'll Sale bitcoin on today? on: July 26, 2021, 08:53:46 AM
For almost a full day I pay attention to the price of bitcoin, and still survive around the price of $33000. I don't see that there will be a significant change to go up. Will you still survive the market conditions like this? Confusing.

I am somehow confused to your question. Currently, the price of BTC increased in the past few days so this is a good time for people who opted to invest BTC in a short-term basis.

Personally, I would save my BTCs until the next fork happens. Maybe I would also hold my remaining BTCs for 5-10 years from now since I do believe that its price would skyrocket again in the near future.

If you do not see that there will be any 'significant changes', then feel free to sell your BTCs as long as you are on profit.
3194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Weekly/monthly financial statements, which do you prefer? on: July 26, 2021, 06:12:10 AM
When you spend money constantly in bits, it is normal that you may not be able to keep track of the amount you have spent on something say gambling or alcohol. If a financial record or something like a register is shown to you having the total amount you've spent on a habit, you may be surprised the total amount you see.

As a way to keep track, would you like to receive regular, maybe weekly or monthly financial statements highlighting wins and losses from a gambling site?

Can you share your thoughts please?

As much as that I want this system to be implemented in gambling websites, I doubt that such would happen.

Remember that all gambling establishments are businesses. Any process that lets the business lose money will not be implemented and this suggestion of yours is one of those. Most gamblers are unaware of their current financials. Let alone, they do not keep track of all the expenses they have incurred during gambling. That is why, gambling establishments will NEVER implement this system as it may lessen the opportunity of people gambling again.
3195  Local / Pamilihan / Re: GCash is planning to add cryptocurrencies! on: July 25, 2021, 03:08:09 PM
Nice! Im a gcash user at madalas ko talagang gamitin anvgcash sa ibat ibang transactions dahil sobrang dali gamitin at walang fees if gcash to gcash ang transaction.

Let see if my good developments sa plano nato in future dahil dadami talaga user ni gcash if nangyari to.

Yung problem ko sa coins.ph is yung rates nila ay napakababa and for some reason, same din tayo ng problem. Verified user ako since 2017 pero for some reason, binabaan nila ang cash limit ko to level 2. Though they asked naman for additional KYC documents, nagulat pa din ako na mas lalo nagiging strict yung regulations ni coins.ph.

Another thing, the fact na si GCASH ay na-acknowledge na din niya ang cryptocurrencies means na mas madami siguro mga tao na malalaman at makakapag try mag invest din dito sa BTC. Good news ito especially for long-term usage.
3196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You got a pifzer ? Then you can be eligible for lottery in Poland. on: July 25, 2021, 02:44:21 PM
I don't understand what their purpose is to give gifts to those who are vaccinated because after all, in the end if this virus really exists then vaccination will definitely be done, right?
So, all choices return to each individual, if they still want protection and safety for themselves then of course they will also vaccinate and that is enough with an appeal and not because of getting a prize or lottery.

The purpose of giving any benefits/prizes to people who are vaccinated is to at least compel people to get vaccinated. There are lots of people that are unvaccinated who spread false information about it. The problem is, most people who are unvaccinated believe these conspiracy theories which affects the general public in the transmission of the virus.

By providing any prizes or privileges to the vaccinated, even if you do not believe that vaccines work, there is a higher chance that you would comply due to the prizes given. Unfortunately, when anti-vaxxers become very close-minded, the only way to compel them to get vaccinated is to provide monetary benefits.
3197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Can We Expect Gambling on Axie Infinity? on: July 25, 2021, 12:45:59 PM

Axie are moving forward and the development are really bringing more people.

Here in our place, many people become interested in Cryptocurrency because of Axie Infinity because it comes at the right, people are at their homes at the start of the pandemic, they have no choice but to find work and entertainment online and Axie Infinity has given these people a good source of income and entertainment, I am late in Axie because I'm no gamer, but I start working on games similar to Axie Infinity.

I started investing in BTC back in 2017 and when I convinced my friends to join me, they doubted my decision and even laughed at me.

Now that Axie Infinity is becoming popular, my friends who previously mocked me are now into cryptocurrencies because of such game. Somehow, I do realize that I am grateful for this game since it attracted lots of audience in the country who doubted BTC at first.

I was confused on how Axie Infinity works. But when I saw that its gameplay is similar to Hearthstone, I do think that it has the potential to enter the gambling sphere.
3198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons for newbies loss in bitcoin on: July 25, 2021, 12:25:44 PM
Reasons number one and number three are probably popular. newbies when entering the market don't have sufficient knowledge, but want to make money quickly, make a lot of money in a short time. They don't know that scammers are lurking around waiting for them to put in evil scams.Besides, panic will also cause newbies to lose money with FUDs, market fluctuations because whales are trying to manipulate the market.

The problem with most newbie investors is that they receive the information falsely- they do think that investing into cryptocurrency is an 'easy-way out' which provides an absolute formula of getting rich.

Back in the last quarter of 2017, the price of bitcoin skyrocketed from $5,000 to $18,000. Most newbies and new investors jumped on that bandwagon and invested during the peak of its price. When its price dropped on 2018, those investors loss significant amount of money and they disseminate false information about BTC being a scam investment, etc.

So before you invest, understand first its technology and history. Purchasing an investment without even knowing what you are investing on is tantamount to digging your own grave.

3200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anything like excess gambling on: July 25, 2021, 05:58:29 AM
I have seen people gambling with positive vibes of them winning at all costs. I could remember when I started gambling, I was always optimistic of winning high bets that will later cool my mind and cover all my accumulated loses. I believe the same thing happens to other people making them to bet more, becoming addicted to gambling.

Some people could bet without even knowing the amount of time and money they have invested in gambling which could look obvious and call for estimation. I gamble a lot and sometimes I don't even know if it's becoming excess not.

Anything like excess gambling?

This is a good example of what we call as 'gambler's fallacy' where gamblers think that by betting, they would be able to recover their losses.

Excess expenditures in gambling leads to a plethora of problems long-term. Without any self-discipline and control, a gambler would be put in a situation where all of his resources would be slowly depleted in the process.

This experience happened to my brother back when covid was still non-existent. He brought like $600 with him and he told me to stop him at all cost in the event he wins a single bet. To cut the story short, he lost $500 that night and blamed me for not stopping him (although I did).
