Anyone has an alternate solution to buy the backplane to add an extra fan to the S7-F1 ? I got 4 of thoses and the shipping from bitmain is an ultimate joke. 29$us (UPS is like 60$) for 4 backplanes that cost 2.80$ US.

I would also like 4 fans. If anyone has a cheap source.

Thanks.
I've seen 2 alternative solutions:
1: Fan mounting screws https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1420330.msg14869061#msg14869061
2: Zip ties https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1420330.msg14510082#msg14510082

Anybody know if that Enermax will run on 120v?  If it's anything like the S2 PSI would imagine that it would but I just want to make sure.
Yes.

As i know all coupons are expired. is this correct?

If not, can somebody check if it is usable for this miner?
All coupons ARE expired.

I wonder if those Enermax Revolution87+ PSU's are used or leftovers from S2 times.

Oh, nice. 14nm chips from BW.

I found this announcement for the previous chip BW-LK1401
https://www.bw.com/news/show-65-proclamation
Quote
...BW-LK1402 chips are currently in production with a lower power consumption of 95 W/T. BW ASIC chips make use of the most advanced manufacturing technology and optimized design leading to increased hash power, lower power consumption and greater stability.

Maybe work together with sidehack and kilo17 (Community miner project) if they are interested!?

3690  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [30 PH] ** 5x AVALON6 GIVEAWAY ** Kano CKPool (kano.is) [0.9% PPLNS] US,DE,SG on: May 16, 2016, 06:50:56 PM
--

I've created a dk.kano.is node, in EU, like the de.kano.is node.

Consider it a test replacement for de.kano.is but I'll run both for probably at least a couple of weeks to see how they compare in reliability.
It is, however, another ~20ms further away from the main pool node in Vegas

If you wish to try it, just replace 'de.kano.is' with 'dk.kano.is'

Since they are both relatively close, you could make one the primary and the 2nd one your first backup.
Anyway, the point is of course to replace the de node, since linode isn't reliable enough, and we'll see how dk compares to de.
This is good news, at least for miners in the Nordic countries  Smiley
I'm from Finland and here is a short latency comparison:
de.kano.is - 50ms
dk.kano.is - 39ms

6 months before the halving, so... this past Christmas?

The halving is estimated for sometime mid-July and that puts the 6 month mark in mid-January. Tongue
Didn't think about the halving, yeah consumers probably won't see new miners until after it, that and the producers will be able to say "Catch up to the halving double your hashrate with new S9" or what not.

ya official BMT finally admitted it on the thread today Wink

"S9 's information is coming soon , please be patient , dear all acustomers! Once I got it , I will post on BMT as soon as possible !

16mn for sure, they been working on them for months i bet

Did they say it on "Bitmaintalk" or where exactly?

this is the spec thread we made ourselves .  BMT finally confirms it by the end

Alright, pretty much legit when it is posted by a staff member.
This has gone quite off-topic now, but I'm eager to hear about BF's chip as well.
I'd prefer a BF chip miner for many reasons, one of them being that my Finnish fellow-countryman mr. Punin is the Head of Product Development.

Either the one fan -design was no good or they are selling the used ones now, hmm..
3695  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S7 fail signal after 1 minute after start on: May 07, 2016, 12:26:40 PM
It could be a faulty beaglebone, looks like. Is this miner new? If it's still got warranty on it you should try to contact bitmain, but to me it appears either the io or the beaglebone is malfunctioning in some way. I'm not an expert in software, but it just looks like that. If bitmain doesn't respond to you or this is used, just buy a new antminer  beaglebone. Not sure if it's io or the actual board,  so just hang in there. Could also be faulty firmware which looks more likely as there is empty flashed space. Search for kano software here, and you should come to the page. Kano's got nearly 0% chance of bricking, so it's not harmful if it doesn't work and imo it has better guis.
Kano has no custom firmware or updated cgminer for Antminer S7.

The newest firmware (20th April 2016) for 2-fan, 4.73Th, 700Mhz -model is  S7-20160420-700M-2fan-4320.tar.gz

I had little problems with miner status page being blank and no hashing after changing settings for 2x Antminer S7, batch 9.
Cgminer settings were ok.
So I tried this very firmware, and no problemo.
Hashing again as usual and now changing pool settings etc. don't cause any troubles  Smiley

is he solo mining?
No. Kano CKPool is PPLNS -pool  (Pay Per Last N Shares)

Maybe use the Euro-plug one if cheap travel adapter is available?
DX.com for example has cheap travel adapters. I ordered one from there as I needed a US->Euro adapter for RaspPi's psu.
Europe electricity is at 50Hz, USA is at 60Hz, so I don't believe the meter wouldn't read correctly anyways.
Actually some meters have a feature which measures the network frequency and takes it into account.

There is though a lot of different kind of meters available like for example this comparison of the products available in Finland shows.
http://www.hiit.fi/files/admin/publications/Technical_Reports/hiit-tr-2009-1.pdf

Of course taking notice if the device is approved to be used both in 50 and 60Hz is reasonable.

For example Velleman NETBSE M2
Quote
Velleman includes the best package of functions. It
can display all typical figures, but also power factor,
network frequency, and the maximum load. The
device was very accurate on all regular loads. The
errors for reactive loads and consumption were
excellent .....
