Morning all, hope you had a great weekend!

Mine would have been better if Orient had won the FA Trophy, but can't complain too much - Fylde deserved to get something out of this season.

@bbc.reporter - Haha I'm not going near that one yet!  Wink

There are some plans for adding more currencies in the future but I don't have any specific information to give out just yet. As soon as I do then I'll be sharing it everywhere though!  Grin

@DarkStar_ - I can definitely make the request to our sportsbook team for you! I'll let you know if we have plans to add those markets.

@LTU_btc - The blog was written at the request of one of our Blogiversary entrants (who asked about Stablecoins), it's not meant to hint at us adding any particular currencies in the future.

@veleten - I'm just waiting for confirmation from our Sportsbook team but I believe that some of them were settled as a dead heat.

I won't talk about last night's episode yet in case of spoilers, but it's going to make for some interesting grading on the outright markets again!  Wink

Thanks,

Ronnie @ Cloudbet

Afternoon all!

The weekend is almost here! Grin

I'm here to bring you another roundup of the upcoming sporting and casino action at Cloudbet!

Let's kick things off with some domestic soccer action...

FA Cup Final

This weekend English giants Manchester City face Watford in the FA Cup final!

Watford have defied critics and performed above expectations this season, finishing mid table in the EPL and reaching the finals of the world's oldest national cup competition - qualification for European football next season is still within the Hornets grasp.

Man City are clear favourites for the win (1.23) but with our new low minimum stakes of just 0.0000001 BTC, a bet on the Watford underdogs at (13.5) could prove profitable given the recent upsets we've seen across Europe recently.

⚽ Total Goals: Over 3 (1.86)
⚽ Watford FC +2.0 (1.76)
⚽ Aguero to score (1.74)
⚽ Both Teams to Score: Yes (2.17)

FA Cup Trophy

On Sunday two titans of the National league go head-to-head in the FA Trophy final!

Leyton Orient are looking to cap off a superb season and do 'the double' after winning the National league outright and gaining promotion to League 2.

AFC Fylde narrowly missed out on promotion into League 2 last week, losing to Salford City 3-0 in the playoff finals after finishing 5th in the League.

Orient are currently slight favourites (2.19) but have been known to 'choke' in the past when it comes to big games and cup competitions (full disclosure - I'm a long suffering Orient fan!) so a bet on Fylde could have some value (2.81).

Orient's defence also have a habit of conceding goals on the way to victory, finding themselves having to fight back from 2 goal deficits on numerous occasions in the latter part of the season. Stats point towards a high scoring game, especially given 2/3 of the leagues top scorers will be on the pitch - Rowe scored 27 for Fylde while Bonne netted 23 times for Orient so far this season.

⚽ Leyton Orient -0.5 (2.19)
⚽ Total Goals: Over 2.5 (1.94)

NBA Playoffs

Across the pond action is heating up in the NBA playoffs, with four teams left battling for the two NBA final slots!

In the Eastern conference finals the Milwaukee Bucks lead the Toronto Raptors 1-0 ahead of tonight's game. The Bucks look strong and dominated the Raptors in their first game, so it will be up to Leonard and Lowry to lift the Raptors team and tie the series.

🏀Milwaukee Bucks -8.0 (2.25)
🏀Total points: Under 216 (1.97)
🏀Winning Margin 6-10 pts: Milwaukee Bucks (3.97)

Meanwhile in the Western conference the Golden State Warriors have a 2-0 lead over the Portland Trail Blazers in their playoff series. GSW have looked unstoppable this season, but the Blazers have surprised many with their performance this year. The last game came down to a small 3pt margin, so expect another tight game. Look to the player props and point spreads for the most value.

🏀Portland Trail Blazers -2.0 (1.89)
🏀Golden State Warriors +2.0 (2.00)
🏀Winning Margin 1-5 pts: Portland Trail Blazers (5.07) Golden State Warriors (5.43)
🏀Total points: Over 220 (1.85)

Glad to see more members hopping aboard!  Cheesy

This is going to be really fun. I am expecting Ronnie to give a tough contest to everyone while Royse will give him tough competition as usual. Just a couple of weeks left before it all goes down people. This is going to be one heck of a ride!

I doubt I'm going to do that well in this one, I'm a bit fan of the IPL but don't follow international cricket quite as strongly (apart from the ashes - I have Auzzie family and the banter is too good to resist  Wink)

Our blog team also just published their guide to this year's tournament which could come in handy when making your first picks, check it out here.

Blazers weren't even close to the Warriors, while Raptors are still one step behind Bucks. Don't you all got the same feeling that both series could be boring?

It's not looking good for the Raptors, Bucks are looking like the much better team after the first game.

I was hoping this year could be different but it looks like another exit before the Finals. Bucks look very strong, Lopez bossed it and Giannis looked scary.

For tonight I'm going to keep it simple:

- Golden State Warriors -8.0 (2.02)
- Total points: Under 220 (1.76)
- Stephen Curry (Pts+Rebs+Asts) Over 43.5 (1.83)

Still not 100% sure on the Curry bet though, I tend to avoid player props on the NBA because I've had bad luck in the past (looking at you Cousins!)  Wink

Anyone going for a different player prop this eve? I'm very much open to suggestions!  Smiley

Morning all,

Sorry for the delayed response, I was super busy yesterday planning campaigns and wrapping up our Blogiversary Competition!

@TopTort777 - We have a blog on the Hockey World Championship you can find here. I believe the lines came down temporarily but they should be back up now, let me know if you see anything missing and I'll pass the details on to our sportsbook team.

@ralle14 - Thanks for being so helpful, I'd give you merit but I've sent all mine out already this month!

@LUCKMCFLY - Unfortunately we don't have a Telegram group for sharing tips and articles, but it's definitely something we can look into for the future.

For now you can follow us @Cloudbet on Twitter to see this type of content!  Smiley

@rdbase - We do have player props on the NBA as well, you can find our list for tonight's game between GSW and Blazers here

@bbc.reporter - I'll try and find out how they were settled for you, I must admit I'm curious about how some of them are judged!

@deadley - That's a very good question! I'll pass on the request to our sportsbook team lead now, hopefully we can get that market added for you  Grin

@leea-1334 - Glad to hear you had a good one! Unlucky on those picks, did you have Wolves to win in the pool?

I'm always open to discuss sponsoring fun competitions and giveaways on Bitcointalk, I just need to be careful about how I sneak the requests for funds past the payments team  Wink

There was some talk about a pool being set up for the cricket world cup, but I'll keep you updated here with any news.

Thanks,

Ronnie @ Cloudbet
449  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 📖🎂 [Closed for New Entries] Cloudbet’s Bitcoin Blogiversary Competition 🎂 📖 on: May 14, 2019, 09:19:33 AM
Good morning all!

After much deliberation, soul searching, and heated arguments over who used the last of the coffee, our content team have finally picked their top three favourites!  Cheesy

Jokes aside this one really was tough to choose. We got a huge amount of really well thought out suggestions from both Bitcointalk and Twitter, and we want to reassure you that we’re not discarding the ones that didn’t make it to the top three. We promise we’ll get to work and try and answer all the other questions in the future. Our pick of winners are just the first ones.

The competition may be over, but our work goes on. And we want you along for the ride.

Now, without further ado, the winners!

The winners (0.07 BTC each!):

Wendigo - "Crypto sports sponsorship - the biggest deals"

@CryptoStatioN - "How are stablecoins stable? Why some of them sometimes lose their value if they are supposed to be stable? Why not just use bitcoin?"

@Fergielici0us - "What are atomic swaps? Can blockchain talk to each other?"

I'll be cracking the whip in the writers room and soon we should be publishing one of these articles weekly  Wink

As mentioned above this one was very nearly too close to call, so we also have a few runners up that just missed out on making the cut. I'll be contacting them soon to offer a choice of bonus on either our sportsbook or casino:

@mgulla7 - "If I die, how can my daughters inherit my cryptos?"

@danchamz - "What creates value for Cryptocurrencies? What factors are responsible for the variation in the prices of different crytpos."

chelsea93 - "Sound money and it's primary aspects. What is money and it's features. Like liquidity, Inflationary/Deflationary, Demand/Supply, ease of use etc."

There were also a couple of strong specific suggestions from very knowledgeable people, and we plan to reach out to those community members privately in the near future to discuss having them write on the subjects for us as paid guest writers, given their own insight into the subject matter:

mcplums2 - "Is bitcoin's simplicity, its lack of features and its resistance to change, a good thing? Are these features or bugs?"

iphro - "How small states can integrate their M2 economies through blockchain to escape the effects touted by World systems/Dependency theory."

CryptoSmith1 - "How is blockchain becoming cleaner and greener, with regard to the energy consumption of cryptomining, data centers, servers, etc.?"

A huge thanks to everyone that took part and submitted suggestions for the blog, and for your belief in crypto as part of a better future. You should all be proud. All of this - and us here at Cloudbet - wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you.

We have already started planning next month's competition, so keep an eye on our Cloudbet thread for details soon!

Have a great day!

Afternoon all,

Hope you've all had a good week!  Cheesy

This weekend has plenty of sporting action to get involved with!

Domestic Soccer Leagues:

Now that the European games are out of the way, we are heading back to the EPL, Serie A, La Liga, and Bundesliga for the final week's action!

Check out our latest blog to see our experts picks for the biggest games.

⚽ Brighton v Man City: Man City -2.25 (2.10)
⚽ Liverpool v Wolves: Draw (5.88)
⚽ Roma v Juventus: Roma to win (2.58)
⚽ Barcelona v Getafe: Draw (4.47)
⚽ RB Leipzig v Bayern: Leipzig (4.59)

^ Some long odds there, but with our new super low minimum stakes, you don't have to risk your bank to get decent returns!

IPL Cricket Final:

As I write this the second semifinal is underway, with Delhi Capitals battling the Chennai Super Kings to see who will face the Mumbai Indians in the final on Sunday.

It's looking good for CSK currently with DC only 101-5 so far, but there's been plenty of last minute upsets in this tournament over the last few weeks!

For the final game we should have the best odds and lowest margins (under 1%!), no commission, and the ability to back and lay your bets to maximise returns - why bet anywhere else?  Wink

NBA Playoffs:

The Milwaukee Bucks have already made their way past the Celtics to reach the Eastern Conference final, but there's still 3 playoff series to be decided!

🏀 Rockets v Warriors: Warriors +7.0 (1.97)
🏀 Raptors v 76ers: Raptors -6.0 (1.94)
🏀 Nuggets v Trail Blazers: Nuggets -5.5 (1.90)

More a fan of Casino action? Don't worry - we've got you covered too!  Wink

It’ll be interesting to see if sportsbooks reintroduce betting for Game of Thrones, at this stage I feel they’ll not be bringing it back as the leaks are already out. @Ronnie there’s way too many spoilers there, and I feel we’ll should avoid it otherwise it’ll ruin the show for us. Are you referring to Tyrion if yes have you considered the possibility of him being in love with Daenarys, which I feel is the case hence he’s unable to see her faults.

I'm kinda leaning more towards Sansa and Tyrion ending up together, I think there is a mutual respect between them and they did share a 'moment' in the crypts.

They'd also make a pretty solid king and queen to be fair...  Wink

You missed to pick Mum vs CSK not sure who would you picked.

Anyway, I think the race is too hard to overtake you :-P You had some very good round in the middle.

By the way, question to you and also to Haunebu: Since we are only three and there is a prize for forth position too. Clearly there are no one for that to clam. What do you guys think the best will be for the amount we had for 4th position.

1. Split equally to all three of us.
2. Give it to a charity. I have seen a member is working hard to raise fund for charity. I have them in mind.

Let me know.

Probably MI as they are my favourites, but it's been hard to bet against CSK this season - their players are just so up and down with performances.

If I'm in the prize pool then I'll be waiving my prize since I'm technically playing as Cloudbet, split it between the other positions or give to a charity  Smiley

I honestly am rooting for DC for their first ever IPL win, but their batting collapses are their biggest weak point. If they get rid of that, they will most probably lift the cup this season.

If DC fails, I am expecting MI to lift the cup unless CSK players show drastic improvement.

CSK will not win their match against Delhi Capitals as their players are experiencing a downfall in their form. If you see their opener Shane Watson he’s been struggling with the bat for quiet a while now, their middle order is heavily reliant on Ms Dhoni who alone cannot help them win. While on the other hand Delhi Capital players are in top form, hence only a miracle can save CSK from defeat but I doubt that’ll happen.

I think you could be right here, I just checked the stats and was surprised to see that CSK don't have any batsmen in the top 10 for most runs, strike rate, or average. DC on the other hand have Dhawan, Iyer, and Pant.

I'm convinced. Just changed my pick from CSK to DC in the pool  Tongue

I already planned for it LOL
PMed DarkStar_ for escrow service since I see his fees are low. I am waiting for his response.

Let me know how you get on, I can look into requesting funds to sponsor the competition as Cloudbet  Smiley

@Cloudbet. Will Game of Thrones return?

@bbc.reporter - I'm just trying to find out, not sure if the lines have come down as a result of the leaks or if it's just temporary. I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything.

If you are looking for leaks/spoilers for Episode 5 and 6 the best place is probably /r/freefolk on reddit, they have a lot of confirmed sources on there.

I've already read them so i'm trying to hold off on commenting here too much in case I give anything away, but there's always a chance the leaks have come from the alternate endings that they claim to have filmed for each character.

Got to say, I'm not hugely impressed with the last couple of episodes. Good entertainment value and some fan service, but the lack of common sense from some characters who have previously been built up as intelligent is a bit frustrating and breaks the 4th wall at times.

I'm so damn pleased to see the Raptors take the lead in the series after yesterday's spanking of the sixers. Even Drake being there couldn't hold the Raptors back  Grin

What a game too! Leonard, Siakam, and Lowry were on fire. They just looked on a completely different level to some of their recent weak performances.

That's not to say that the sixers can't be blamed, their defence looked abysmal and they finished second in nearly every major stat at the end of the game.

I'm seriously doubting the Raptors ability to beat the Bucks though, would love someone to convince me otherwise!  Wink

This is bullshit. Do the UCL writers expect us to believe these silly 3-0 comeback plots? And two in two days? This is getting worse than Game of Thrones!  Wink Grin

What an incredible semi final round. Hats off to the Liverpool and Tottenham teams, they gave 100% all the way to the final whistle and battled back against some insane odds.

I guess the question for Tottenham now is: Do you play Kane in the final if he's fit?

He's going to be lacking match practice and the team seems to have come together well in his absence (Son in particular), is it worth the risk to change things up now?

459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Now FREE to JOIN] IPL 2019 Prediction Pool and discussion on: May 09, 2019, 11:01:42 AM
And for my 3rd prediction, I had favored the Delhi Capitals for the second qualifier, which will take place in Visakhapatnam. Here are my points:

1. DC is in very good recent form, while CSK has lost 5 out of their last 7 matches.
2. Talking about the top order, Shane Watson looks very much out of form as CSK is struggling to build opening partnerships. For DC, Shaw/Dhawan are doing OK.
3. Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer are in good form and strengthens the middle order for DC, while apart from Dhoni the CSK middle order looks very weak.
4. However, in bowling CSK is having an advantage with Tahir and Harbhajan in good form.

Very well put. You are making me reconsider my pick of CSK to win tomorrow!  Undecided

Another run of bad results for me. I've been tilting in the pool for a while now, so I can see Royse777 overtaking me in the last few games  Tongue

I'm a MI fan so I'd like to see them win the final, but I'd prefer to watch them play DC over CSK given their recent performances.
