4401  Economy / Speculation / Re: How high do you think Bitcoin will go on the next bull run? on: October 23, 2018, 03:04:57 PM
I agree that $100k is about the right price for it but not because of the number but because of the marketcap.

Let's assume the number of coins available is at around 19 million. If you calculate 19 million coins with $100k than the total marketcap would reach about 19 trillion dollars. That is about the same as nasdaq and nyse combined which would make sense to be the maximum for bitcoin itself.

It should not be anything remotely higher than that. The proper way to calculate these things are by comparison and if you do not calculate it right you could see it go off a lot higher. For example if you combine nasdaq and nyse that combines to about 26 trillion or so and I highly doubt any crypto currency would ever be close to that hence I think the best way to calculate was that, you can calculate it some other way using something else that way by marketcap size.
4402  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think their will be another Bull Run this year? I D0 NOT THINK SO! on: October 23, 2018, 01:16:39 PM
Yes, we cannot just easily conclude that it will happen or will not happen because anything is possible. What we can do is just analyse what we have in our table at the moment and then make decisions base on it. If you want to be a long term investor then better buy a coin that has good fundamentals and if you can cost average then do so. If you want to be a trader then it would be more advantageous for you because you can make money in whatever kind of market.
Yes, we are in the speculation thread and most definitely it is normal for people to speculate in a market. For sure, this is nothing anyone can tell yet how the year would be ending except time. It looks though that the market is possibly gearing up for an upward trend, but bull run is something I would not expect at all this year. Possibly what I would rather be looking for is a slow movement upward with some pretty huge resistances to face along the way, and in that case, i would rather just be patient to see how the trend will make that decision in coming days, weeks or months.

Let's put it in a 50-50 perspective because December is yet to come. Now if we look at the previous years of bitcoin's existence, most of the time, the market is on a bull run during the final quarter of each year. So if you think there is no bull run for this year, it might be true or a bull run is also about to happen.
I totally reason with you on that, judging from the fact that no one can see the future and this is a probability game at this moment. It could happen, it may not happen; but in the long run; only time will most definitely tell. I would not be too expectant of a bull run this year though, but we both know the way this space can be full of surprises at times, but one thing for sure is that there is a possibility we may get to see an uptrend in the space before the end of the year. However, things turn out; I am sure though that it would still always pay us for being patient in the long run.
4403  Economy / Economics / Re: Germany urges global minimum tax for digital giants on: October 23, 2018, 08:10:18 AM
That sounds as one of the rarest problems Germany has right now. They have seen what technology can do and how it can change a whole country and the world improving towards more tech oriented and they are trying to prepare themselves on the fact that if there is a global tax for digital stuff than there wouldn't be a reason why any tech company select one country over another since there would be a global tax.

Companies that run away to Ireland or somewhere like that for less taxes are hurting the big nations like USA and Germany and even England because it is so easy to move away from London to Dublin. So, if germany can achieve such a task (which is really hard getting everyone agree on this) they could keep their companies in their country and help them out a lot more knowing they won't leave.
4404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: October 22, 2018, 06:44:28 PM
That's the kind of action that really shows that lakers are very motivated to win every game this season, however, the chemistry has not been form yet, it will take I guess and they might be frustrated along the way as the losing streak continues.

I'm trying not to be too harsh on them, it's been only two games. They were both highly competitive and could have gone either way. Blazers and Rockets are also one of the best teams in the west, probably top four seeds.

The thing I don't like when I watch the Lakers is when JaVale goes to the bench and they either play Bron or Kuzma at the five. They are so vulnerable defensively as there is basically no paint protection, each drive is a basket or a foul for the opposing team. Maybe give Mo Wagner or Zubac a chance idk...

At least, Lonzo gets to start now with upcoming multiple game suspensions for Rondo and Ingram.
The fight wasn't really that small to get maximum a 4 game suspension ? I mean it was all out brawl where people actually threw punches and some of the punches actually hit their faces and all that, this wasn't really some small pushing each other type deal, it was a big fight.

Now, I understand as people who watch UFC and so forth we know this was nothing in the sense that it wasn't really a big "fight" but for the NBA standards if you throw a punch and it hits your opponent the ban should be at least 20 games if not more. There is no place in the NBA for all out brawls and fights and NBA has moved well beyond the gangsta thug lets fight malice at the palace days behind, this is more modern, this is more sleek and tech NBA where more PC is used than not. Definetly should have been a longer ban for all people involved.
4405  Economy / Economics / Re: ETFs on: October 22, 2018, 05:44:30 PM
Approval of ETFs will take some more time but not too long.

I think it won't be accepted in the next one month for example because we still have a lot of ways to go however I do not believe it will be later than 2020 neither. Hence, anything between 2019 and 2020 would be a wise assumption, it will during the year 2019 but when it will be I have no idea, depends on what the SEC looking for in an ETF before they accept it.

If it is the demand than we can be assured that there is a huge demand for a bitcoin ETF and we will eventually get it however if it is "would having a bitcoin ETF affect anything" then we might have a trouble because even though all the speculators here talk about how having an ETF would change everything it probably change anything for neither us the bitcoin people nor for the ETF investors because there won't be a much change, ETF won't affect bitcoin directly so it won't change it at all.
4406  Economy / Gambling / Re: Potential Gambling Site Leak on: October 22, 2018, 07:56:42 AM
Considering gambling casinos are also sort of work like wallets (people deposit their money there and sometimes they withdraw but there are times when a gambler just keeps his money in the casino instead of withdrawing all the time) this is actually worse than it looks like. Yeah, someone taking control of your casino account doesn't seem THAT bad when you consider whats the worst thing they can do deposit and gamble ?

But, don't forget they will have your wallet and if you have money in it than they can withdraw it plus they will have your email address and the password for that and if you have password same with any other place they could potentially try that email/password combo in any website, they could literally write a code that says try this email/password combo in all of these websites and let me know if any of them gets inside and it would take 10 seconds to check hundreds of websites.

It is really dangerous and has insane potentially horrible stories. Be really careful about this.
4407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Perfect crypto betting experience on: October 22, 2018, 06:34:14 AM
I think the casino world of crypto hasn't really catch up to regular traditional brick and mortar casino fun levels yet.

First of all the ones in places like Las Vegas and all that call up famous people and get them to sing or do Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Trading Discussion > Why you buy Cryptocurrency ? whatever they are famous for, now making that in an online casino is really difficult that is for sure. However, places like pokerstars really changed that by just putting up big free tournemants. You get into a poker table bet there a bit and if you win you get into a million dollar prize poker tourney and that is almost every weekend.

Hence, I think if the crypto world wants to get bigger than I suggest getting famous crypto people to be in the chat or having a forum AMA session with them and so forth would help a lot and having big prizes every weekend would help too, not like "jackpot" things, actually skill things.
4408  Economy / Economics / Re: Watch out Wall Street, Blockchain is Coming: Fmr. JPMorgan Exec. Blythe Masters on: October 21, 2018, 02:39:18 PM
Any major endorsement like this will only raise awareness and acceptance towards cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology and that's still the stage we're in. It's also probably worth noting her relevance due to past achievement and also being a female, without getting in to a debate on gender inequality etc it's notoriously harder to make it in to the higher ranked positions in finance as a female so she'll also have a lot more of an audience due to that.
Well, awareness is something that would get created on its own as those in the wall street and majorly all sectors start adopting the usage of blockchain technology. This is something we will get used to at the end, as a lot of things are already changing and even changing pretty fast and before we even know it, we will get to see a lot of the sectors globally being touched, from logistics and supply chain, to health, to financials, and so many more.

Blockchain as far as I am concerned is not just coming, it is here! We are in a new age where blockchain technology is taking over. We all know blockchain is the future anyway and it is about time everyone starts accepting that. Actually, we are getting to see even some of those in the wall street trying to get into the system one way or the other.

Basically, blockchain is simply applicable to every sector and it would help solve most of the problems that has really occurred in the whole sector for a very long time. The reality is here indeed and people need to accept that reality that blockchain is here to stay.
4409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Telegram Open Network - GRAM New Coming Cryptocurrency on: October 21, 2018, 05:20:26 AM
This sounds as a great way to make funds for themselves as well without having to worry about how to make money or even getting bought by some bigger company like whatsapp did with facebook. The problem with free apps and so forth is that they are literally free so if they want to make money they have to either sell your data but how do you sell data on a whatsapp chat type thing ?

Facebook at least has a lot of info about you and instagram has all kinds of info like where you usually go from tags and your hashtags and twitter has the same with who you follow and who follows you and tags. In the end chat places either end up with no money and get an exit or this is a new better method so they will get funding from users directly to keep going.

Telegram being the highest owner of the gram currency when it worths something it will be beneficial for them.
4410  Economy / Economics / Re: current situation of cryptocurrency for 2018 on: October 21, 2018, 03:42:28 AM
there are many factors that influence the price of Cryptocurrency in the market and this factor is also included factor, early January 2018 it was a disaster for all crypto prices in the market, every day the transaction volume decreases, in my opinion no one knows the price of All Crypto in the final year 2018, I will still buy crypto and keep it hodl, let the time answer it.
Disaster ? There is nothing that would go up that would not come down at some point in a market scenario and I thought by now people should have gotten used to that as a fact and not just some mere saying.

Nevertheless, I would not consider it a disaster as corrections are very normal and it is something we will always get to see in the market and most especially in this case where market is driven by speculations. It is a short term thing anyway and only few people will understand that. Also, it should be understood that we are still in an uptrend if we really want to be comparing early last year's value to what we are classifying as a bottom now.
4411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Video] How do Casinos make money? on: October 21, 2018, 01:43:04 AM
If it is not really an "addiction" how do you really explain online gambling addiction where you gamble on your house.

Yes free drinks and women around and no clocks and really weird exit route and all of that is really keeping you in there to gamble as much as possible but in reality when you are gambling from your house you are having trouble leaving as well.

I know someone who goes to cyprus once a year and she goes there with a set amount of money to gamble, after all she goes there to spend money and have fun and she uses that money whilst getting free drinks and free food and so forth and really have the time of her life and in the end never spent more than what she arranged while going there.

However, we have all known people who have lost all their money at once at online gambling and while you are gambling on a casino you have to get up get dressed go there and spend money and if you lose all your money with you than even if you withdraw money from somewhere than you need to get up and do all of that again. Whereas playing online you can sit on your underwear and gamble millions of dollars easily with a click.
4412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Imagine the day where everyone drops bitcoin! on: October 20, 2018, 10:34:03 AM
I don't think it will drop in a single day or even in a short period of time. Too little people own too big of a percentage, so even if all smaller owners would sell within a single day, most of the btc will still be locked unless the big players decide to sell.
Maybe people should even stop imagining things that would not likely happen but instead imagine that the chance of more people buying bitcoins is far more than everyone dropping their coins. What is the point trying to imagine a doomsday that obviously does not sound realistic and I wonder why a lot of people tend to derive pleasure in that, which is either they are just not understanding that as a market is growing, there will always be chances of more people coming in and as long as the market becomes usable, all these things being said by the OP cannot even come to reality.

If everyone sells bitcoin, its price will drop greatly. Since many coins are dependent on bitcoin, I think that a drop in bitcoin will cause the entire cryptocurrency market to fall. Bitcoin is not for everyone.
If everyone, but not everyone is dumb enough to be selling when the market is still very young and believe me there are so many people who are focusing on the long term than having to sell in the short term which is the main reason why they find it so easy when it comes to investing for the long term and holding for as long as they can, and at least, that has shown the number of big holders that are still holding as much as they can till date. As long as the markets have prospects, it would grow, become usable and demand and supply will obviously get balanced.
4413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The situation at the moment on: October 20, 2018, 03:20:00 AM
I believe that the current situation of btc and alts are now in bearish market where market has been in this situation for a very long time. However, I am optimistic that this will not stay long where it may soon to recover once again and surpassing the resistance that hampers it's market growth. Bullish market will be experience soon and as to when, no one knows but just continue to believe in it for it will make the market more profitable again.
There is nothing hard at all, as you will only find it hard if you are expecting too much yourself in the short term. I think people should start learning the importance of having patience in the market and knowing that every market trend is an opportunity.

Right now in the cryptocurrency market, there is an opportunity to buy and then when the market gets over bought, which would be an opportunity to sell. Like I said, every market is bound to change in trend and it is how you take advantage of those trends to your favor that matters most which is something a lot of people tend to find hard to understand.

Hopefully the current situation of entire crypto market is at the bottom of downfall which is persisting since late 2017 still only the upcoming days need to double confirm it by showing better market conditions.
4414  Economy / Speculation / Re: Positives in Speculation. on: October 19, 2018, 07:03:01 PM
Well, there is no doubt that the space is really getting some optimism for the mean time, and for what I can see at least, there is a possibility we may be seeing some pretty good growth anytime soon, although that is just an assumption and until we really see a clear signal before we can even try at all to see how things would turn out.

Steve Wozniak has been known to be bullish and investor of bitcoin so if he joined a blockchain company that isn't new anymore. Well, its still Steve Wozniak of Apple that brings more credibility to the market.

Those aren't the good and positive news that came out but the market hasn't be so reactive after those news. I think I'm believing what they are saying that bull run is imminent.
Bull run to me has always been imminent and we are not even close to any mainstream adoption yet, and then imagine what would happen with mainstream adoption in the long run. For now, one way or the other, the optimism in the market is rising, we are getting to see some interests from big investors, and likelihood of seeing some little rally even in the short term, but however things turn out, I am so certain that bull run is something we will get to see eventually as we start hitting new ATH than we would imagine. Patience is all we just need to have in this space.

Moreover, looking at the news lately, it seems fundamentally, things are practically turning to the bullish side, but we just have to keep our fingers crossed and see how things would turn out eventually. Nonetheless, good news is something that has been ongoing in the market for a while, just that the market has not been bullish enough to react to it.
4415  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who/what will fuel the next bull run? on: October 19, 2018, 06:07:15 PM
Many people expect there will be another bull run in the more or less near future. But who, whose money, what will be the fuel for next bull run? New investors? Smart money? Why? Do elaborate, I am very curious to know your thoughts.
I think we are all tying our hopes to ETF at this point, if it didn't get delayed or new ones are always on the horizon we would have moved beyond it but since it technically wasn't "rejected" we are still keeping a bit of hope inside each other always talking about how bakkt will be approved or cboe will be approved and we are going to see a huge increase in price whenever they get accepted. At this point I believe the price will go up when ETF gets accepted (if it gets accepted at all) just from the people who would buy thinking it will go up and automatically increasing the price.

Aside from ETF there are really not that many things that would increase the price suddenly but I think if Satoshi Nakamoto came out of his shadows and talked about how he is coming back to bitcoin world that would create an amazing reception and the price would skyrocket as well, aside from him noone would make that type of difference and he is not coming back for sure.
4416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ico and sec regulations on: October 19, 2018, 03:59:08 PM
If it will be regulation we will see less scum, more security tokens but KYC will be required for all ICO.
Less scums indeed. One thing with regulations generally is that, it brings about laws and rules that would make anyone to think twice before deceiving investors or trying to scam when they know the repercussions to that. It is only when there is no rule that you will get to see some things just happening anyhow and then there is no caution of some sort.

For instance, taking a look at Centra project in the past, and how the team was arrested for deceiving investors, those are the kind of things regulation will truly put in place as far as I am concerned. It has even shown over the years, that human being actually like being controlled, otherwise things can get out of hand.

By control, I mean there should be law and regulations in place as that would help curtail a lot of people into having to do something terrible at the detriment of other people. It is a tough world in which we will always get to see scum bags who are just looking for those they can rip off, but I believe when regulation is in place, you cannot just start an ICO without going through some verification process, investors tend to know the criteria to look out for, it will help a lot to reduce or eliminate scam in the space.
4417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty Hunters let's unite and pursue legal action re: KYC on: October 19, 2018, 01:23:49 PM
Legal fund ?. Who do you think will care about this in the community ?
I totally understand how you feel and I share the same experience with you, but it is what it is, and the fact that KYC is becoming something of importance right now is not their fault.

However, any team that has actually gone through regulation and see there is a requirement for KYC for the bounty hunters should actually be bold enough to say it out and not just at the end of the bounty as that sucks for real, but legal action is not what we will have to take in such cases, as you will not get anyone interested enough to want to give someone fund to help pursue legal means, all we can do is to always urge the managers, or find out from the team if there would be need for KYC before proceeding, and put them on their words.
4418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does this sound realistic? on: October 19, 2018, 09:28:19 AM
From OP theory, it means you are going to have to train your mind to the extent that it should expect nothing back when you are gambling but that in itself is a very big deal because the mind knows that it should expect a reward when you are gambling not that it's paying to have fun.
Well, that is the point. The mind always will want a win, and that is the generally mentality that comes to play when it comes to gambling. However, what is important now is to fine tune that mind, which in some way it is indirectly called mind control and try as much as possible to stay sane so you do not get to let your mind and the impulses that comes with gambling control you in most cases.

As long as you are actually able to put yourself in that mindset that the OP mentioned, I think we will be able to actually have more of sane and less addicted gamblers generally.
4419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with normal games on: October 18, 2018, 06:37:41 PM
Gambling like that I have often done with my friends who are basically just looking for fun in their spare time and not gambling to get a profit. There are many things that can be made as gambling with friends when we are together and whatever type of gambling we usually do together and what is at stake is not only money but what is a joint decision at that time, if one of us has run out of capital for bet, then we will stop playing and the results we get will usually be used together, such as to buy drinks, food, cigarettes etc.
I have done several times with friends as well and it is usually fun, and in such cases at least, you know you are putting down what you can afford to lose, they are your friends and they really are just like family anyway, so if you go ahead losing to them in any game, you would not take it personal, except that next time, you just have to up your game one way or the other. It can be daring too though and it usually comes with the same experience that you get to see in Casinos, which I pretty much believe if you do not take care, and you get yourself out of control, you may actually tend to take things too personal.
4420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: October 18, 2018, 05:03:51 PM
I was wrong to doubt Booker. I was thinking he would be playing majorly on shooting guard position and Doncic would have beasted on him because we know Booker doesn't have a good defense but he was hided very well behind players like JJ and Doncic couldn't do anything, we got to give him it was his first NBA game ever but as a player who played on euro-league finals I am pretty sure dude wasn't that much excited about a regular season game, maybe just because it is the first ever.

I really believed Doncic would have beasted Booker but coach managed to hide that weakness. I wasn't expecting Sixers to be bullied that badly neither, I knew Celtics had the better chance now giving the fact that they have Kyrie and Hayward returned but I wouldn't have expected them to win a game when both of them played so badly.
