4261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to determine if projects/coins will survive the bear market? on: October 27, 2018, 06:59:17 PM
No one survives the bear market. Bitcoin was $20k and now it is 6.5k (which is still great compared to others. Nano was 37 dollars now it is 2 dollars, ethereum was $1.5k and more now its 200 dollars, dash was $1.5k dollars now it is 156 dollars, spectre was 6 dollars now its 20 cents. Honestly there is absolutely no a single coin that didn't lose value in the past year, if you are looking for something that didn't changed in price to low than you should put your money into tether (which is a scam token and that even dropped in price recently).

If you want to have to freedom and profits of a cryptocurrency you need to take the risks and stress of cryptocurrency as well, there is no free money and noone gives you freedom, you have to work for your money and take your freedom.
4262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin of 2019 on: October 27, 2018, 03:35:55 PM
The ones with their unique platforms will rule the roost in 2019.
That is the thing, as I believe there is a huge changes coming into this space, and we may likely get to see the space becoming more matured than it is now, with concentration being on the projects with products. We all know the rate at which most altcoins have dropped anyway and we also know the chances they could have to the peak side, when the market recovers generally.

2019 is just close by, so I would not want to be making some assumptions, but let's just hope for the best. I have always seen altcoins more like a short term thing anyway, but eventually I still believe that in the long run, we will get to see more of them testing new heights somehow.
4263  Economy / Economics / Re: The Big Blockchain Lie (by Roubini) on: October 27, 2018, 12:25:13 PM
Although I do not agree with most of the things he said about blockchain and that shows how limited his knowledge is, but it is actually glaring that when you really read some news these days, you will know that some of the applications of blockchain are overhyped and we have seen it severally. Talking about the cure of cancer, I still wonder till date what blockchain will have to do with that or how it is actually going to enable the cure of cancer.

Yeah, there are so many applications for blockchain technology that would disrupt a lot of sectors, and there is no doubt about it, but it is just more like a ledger system, and what I would see in most cases would be transparency and accountability in most sectors.
4264  Economy / Economics / Re: Companies aren't responsible for innovation, consumers are on: October 27, 2018, 08:14:44 AM
Tech giants are usually praised as holding complete responsibility for innovation, but you can' t have supply without demand.

People are programmed to compulsively desire the latest and greatest thing, which is why they are willing to justify working so hard in jobs most of them hate, or trade bitcoin lol.

If this scenario weren't happening, tech companies wouldn't have the budgets to create the incredible technology that we now have.

Where do you think this seemingly endless cycle will lead? Will the technology ever solve so many problems and carry so much value that it would destroy the cycle?
Why would you think the consumers are responsible for innovation. Innovation gets into a cycle in big companies and they basically spew out "new" looking old things that is basically not even considered innovation so companies and consumers are not doing anything on that part.

If you want to see innovation take a look at the new stuff coming out not the old companies, look at the companies that create new things, for example oculus rift and all the VR stuff in the world started out but moving along very slowly however they are making stuff that makes you "smell" and "feel" with a clothing that will make you get cold or feel hot depending on what you play.

Now, no consumer asked for this, it is of course amazing but we didn't really said "I will only buy if you create this" but they are innovating anyway, why ? Because, they know they can and it would be an improvement. True innovation lies in the creators mind that says "I can make this better".
4265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: October 26, 2018, 06:06:53 PM
PSG - Napoli match was great to watch and I don't that result of game can be called as surprise. Napoli played really well, but di Maria saved the day for PSG. Now it's very interesting situation in this group before second round.
This is still a equal ball game for the three teams in Group C, Liverpool, Napoli, and PSG are still battling for the top 2 spots. PSG and Napoli will have their rematch in day # 4 and it could really make or break both teams. Napoli defeated Liverpool in their first match and PSG lost to Liverpool in their first matchup. They still yet to face Liverpool in their 2nd game but I think Napoli is in a much better position compared to PSG, yet this could change after the result in their 2nd match against one another, it will also depend on how they will matchup against Liverpool after.

Do you know that PSG never won game against Italians clubs ever
Next game between those two teams will decide  which one will qualify
If PSG will not qualify to next games will be yet another nervous moves done by Arabic owners
Glory to Ancelotti for the second time Napoli stooped best strikers in the world

And Borussia great to see that team bouncing back

Damn, no, never knew that stat. That has to be a big fluke just waiting to be broken. Tell you what though, Napoli weren't just a terror last season, and they haven't really lost their sting... Still one of the best attacking forces thanks to 3 seasons of Sarri... So not so much a credit to Ancellotti I would say.

Shaping up to be a great season for all attackers, and a great show of sturdiness by Napoli to blunt the best 3 strikers of England and France. Well done, indeed.
I really did not expected Napoli to be here and to be this good. I do not follow Italian league so much which is probably the reason why I do not know how and when napoli got this good but when I think Italian teams I think of Milan, Inter, Juventus and so forth, Napoli is one of the last teams I would have assumed be here and yet here they are and they are really showing off why they deserve to be here.

Sad thing is I think they have a better chance at Europa instead of champions league, champions league is still ran by teams that have billions of dollars at their bank accounts and even tho PSG seems to have some troubles it will probably temporary and will probably overcome Napoli to get to next stage. I hope Napoli will have a better shot at Europa so they could actually show off not only rich people can have cups.
4266  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Exchange listing strategy on: October 26, 2018, 09:44:58 AM
I think first listing is not the important one, you get listing offers from exchanges if you are big enough and if you are not big enough than a small exchange would be really all you need. However, if you want to get any bigger and get a bigger audience and bigger volume to your coin than you need to pay up and get listed on big exchanges such as binance or even bittrex.

If you do not get listed there and just get listed on the smaller ones like coinpulse or cryptopia or whatever than you will not get to see that big spike in volume and just be "another coin" instead. That is still not bad because you will be a coin that got listed on a coin exchange and that is still a great deal of work. Having your coin on ICO and getting funded enough to start and improve and getting listed anywhere is still better than probably 90% of the ICO's that never really go that far.
4267  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: S/R trading on: October 26, 2018, 08:21:45 AM
Before I begin, I want to tell you that I've been studying S/R for a quite some time. I know basics, more or less. So the thing which worries me the most is, how do you know which way it's going to go (up or down) when it hits support and resistance, is it good to use it with MACD or RSI?. Are there any traders using only S/R, trends etc... The basic simple charts without 1000 lines on them where you cannot read a thing? Are you profitable with only S/R? I've been watching some videos/tutorials on youtube, and most of the forex traders say they only use S/R. Is it possible to learn them to "perfection"?
Support and resistance basically tells you which way the coin should be going by the eyes of the public. That is only helpful to tell you which way others think the price will go, nothing more. Just because people think it will go somewhere doesn't really tell you which way it will go tho, it will still do whatever it wants to without the support or resistance because lets not forget as soon as any coin starts to move on one way most of those support and resistance will change into something else.

If you want to trade according to historical resistance points than you can definitely buy from those prices for example $5.8k is a strong support that I do not think will ever be passed again so if it gets anything remotely close to it than you can buy. However, I do not think it would work on selling points, it would work while buying but while selling it can go up without caring about any resistance at all.
4268  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Knowledge needed for the trader wants to become professional on: October 26, 2018, 07:25:16 AM
As long as you want to become professional at anything at all, the first thing that should always come to mind is to gain knowledge in that profession you want to pursue.

There is no way you can do well at all, if the knowledge is not there for you to make use of. Imagining that they can just end up doing it all by themselves is a mistake among many people commonly, without having to go by the books, and the crazy thing is that they always learn it the hard way and still come back to seeking for that knowledge eventually after wasted months and years.

Knowledge is very important and without it, you cannot make any decision as a trader. Just learning from books nor from a teacher/video will not give you all the required knowledge for trading. A knowledge here denotes the experience and the capability to take right decision at right moment. You cannot trade profitably even you have learnt 1000s of strategies and tips from books if you are not capable of making decisions under pressure, this is what here referred as 'knowledge'.
4269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Popular Betting Strategies on: October 26, 2018, 03:40:26 AM
List of the most popular Betting Strategies see here: http://sportstatist.com/betting-strategies/
I have seen couple that really surprised me a lot. For example there is no really strategy that could potentially win on dice because no matter what you do house edge still gets you however during sports betting you could play the odds apparently.

There was a strategy where gamblers use to determine which is more likely to win and look at the odds and even if the probable loser has a better odd given to them than the chances than they bet on the probable loser side. Just because of the better odds. If you are going to give some probable win team very very tiny amount of odd than there is potentially no reason to risk the money. I think that is why there are still people who bet on other sides of gambling and keep the sportsbooks honest about the odds because if you don't bet on the other side than they would slightly try to change their odds to that side.
4270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: October 25, 2018, 05:50:28 PM
Kobe was just mocking man, if you watched the full video he says no right afterwards, it's Jimmy Kimmel, that is a silly having fun interview. Kobe won't return no matter what, he already built himself a life after retirement, dude even won a freaking oscar (albeit could be really because he is Kobe and not because the short movie deserved an oscar). I think Kobe is not even that much in the Lakers world at all, he probably watches them but that is about it.

Anyway Lakers got their win, as is tradition from suns, even Lebron didn't played too much because almost half of the game was garbage time, good thing is this year young players seems to be getting more attention and getting much better stats and games whereas they are going to still be a playoff team.
4271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Perfect crypto betting experience on: October 25, 2018, 03:57:40 PM
For me the most important thing would be the actual trustworthiness of the website in question. I mean a sportsbook can have great features, but if it's not trusted, all those features still do not make it worth playing on.

Second is the speed of deposits and withdraws, I would only play if they were instant. I've gotten so used to just receiving my winnings immediately after I withdraw them, that I wouldn't want to miss that.

When it comes to sportsbetting, I do not really care if the website has a lot of bells and whistles, I just tend to make simple bets anyway, so there's no need for any special features for me.
With the way a lot of scam gambling sites keep popping up every day, you really want to be very careful which one you are actually making use of. I just look for the reviews of most gambling site, experiences of others, try to tailor it to what I will feel with my own experience, and then choose the one that I believe works best for me.

I have always been keen about the ease of using the platform most of the time, so UI is one thing I do not joke with, then, the support as well as less technical hitch will always do it for me. When all these things are in place and it is a well-known website that has a good reputation and has been on for a while, then I am game!
4272  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The whales need no indicators! on: October 25, 2018, 11:53:05 AM
Well of course, they do not need any indicators they are whales for Christ sake. You do not need indicators if you are beating all of indicators and doing whatever you want anyway. I mean you would basically require a whale to do it and millions of dollars but take a look at the volumes of the coins if you do not believe it.

Depending on the coin the "whale" changes value, if you mean whale for bitcoin you need millions of dollars but if you have it than you can basically check out what indicators says and not care about it and just do the opposite because you have enough money to do it and not care about it. Of course, on smaller coins that amount becomes cheaper and you can basically still control that coin and the market of it by just doing whichever direction you want and keep buying or selling and controlling it and no indicator could guess what you are doing.
4273  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Heading into ‘Classic Breakout Pattern’: Analyst on: October 25, 2018, 08:56:22 AM
I have never really thought about this part of the equation. I mean what if the whales already made as much money as they can from the volatility of bitcoin and now looking to make money from the ETF and whatever selling it like selling stocks in wall street and in order to do it they need to keep it a bit more stable in order to sell better ?

Maybe after the etf they will just let it loose for a while and have it increased in price like hell and than show people the first people who bought the bitcoin etf made insane profits thanks to it and than sell so much etf that buying or selling bitcoin in order to manipulate the market would probably be worth it since it is still insane amount but less than what they could make from the selling of etf to investors.

I mean sometimes volatility helps them but sometimes it hurts their business so they could be the ones that keep it stagnant all these months so the SEC accepts the etf.
4274  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's your plan for the next bull-bear cycle? on: October 25, 2018, 08:14:00 AM
Optimistic targets and wishful thinking for a bull run in the coming months....but I am with you man. I hope things start looking better soon.

Less volatile tech stocks are a good option, personally I am looking at putting some money into some pot stocks, the rest I would probably just put in a traditional 401k.

But honestly most of it will go to a reliable stable coin that is trustworthy, taxes will always be a nightmare, im hoping there is better guidance next bull run.
Well, in this market, everything is an opportunity and for what it is worth, seeing opportunities like this, I would not be wasting it at all. Depending on the movement of the market in most cases, and being a trader, I really would not want to be wasting much time in offloading in the cases of a bull run and most especially, if it is the case of a bull run that is speculative in nature. Honestly, I hope we actually get to see another bull to happen.

Once I get to see the starting of the bull run, I will just keep monitoring the trend, but once I see greed kicking in, I will start offloading bit by bit knowing there will possibly be another imminent correction afterwards. I am a swing trader anyway, and I take advantage of the trend, so in each case, and depending on when I see the trend changing, I will hold until then and sell off when I see there would be a chance to buy lower.

I would not be so quick to start dumping though, I will be patient enough to see the trend, but in most cases, when there is a sign of the market pinning the sky for no reason, this is when fear for me usually kick in. Like I always do, sell when everyone is buying and getting greedy and then buy when everyone is busy selling. Has always worked brilliantly for me like magic.
4275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: October 24, 2018, 07:09:03 PM
Lebron was never really a great free throw shooter anyway and if you remember during the 2016 year Cavs became champions Lebron was fouled by Draymond during the last seconds while he was going for a dunk, dude hit 1/2 there too.

But, just because Lebron was never really a great free throw shooter it doesn't really take away from how amazing he is and the real true potential of the question "is he the greatest player that ever played", he might be, he may not be, we will never know since its a subjective term and doesn't have a correct data for it however we can clearly see he deserves the question at least and just because he lacks free throws doesn't take away from that, Shaq was the most dominant player to ever play and he never really hit his free throws at all, people fouled him intentionally so he could miss his shots instead of dunking on them. That didn't made Shaq a bad player did it ? No. Lebron hits much better than Shaq so it should not matter neither.
4276  Economy / Speculation / Re: How high do you think Bitcoin will go on the next bull run? on: October 23, 2018, 03:04:57 PM
I agree that $100k is about the right price for it but not because of the number but because of the marketcap.

Let's assume the number of coins available is at around 19 million. If you calculate 19 million coins with $100k than the total marketcap would reach about 19 trillion dollars. That is about the same as nasdaq and nyse combined which would make sense to be the maximum for bitcoin itself.

It should not be anything remotely higher than that. The proper way to calculate these things are by comparison and if you do not calculate it right you could see it go off a lot higher. For example if you combine nasdaq and nyse that combines to about 26 trillion or so and I highly doubt any crypto currency would ever be close to that hence I think the best way to calculate was that, you can calculate it some other way using something else that way by marketcap size.
4277  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think their will be another Bull Run this year? I D0 NOT THINK SO! on: October 23, 2018, 01:16:39 PM
Yes, we cannot just easily conclude that it will happen or will not happen because anything is possible. What we can do is just analyse what we have in our table at the moment and then make decisions base on it. If you want to be a long term investor then better buy a coin that has good fundamentals and if you can cost average then do so. If you want to be a trader then it would be more advantageous for you because you can make money in whatever kind of market.
Yes, we are in the speculation thread and most definitely it is normal for people to speculate in a market. For sure, this is nothing anyone can tell yet how the year would be ending except time. It looks though that the market is possibly gearing up for an upward trend, but bull run is something I would not expect at all this year. Possibly what I would rather be looking for is a slow movement upward with some pretty huge resistances to face along the way, and in that case, i would rather just be patient to see how the trend will make that decision in coming days, weeks or months.

Let's put it in a 50-50 perspective because December is yet to come. Now if we look at the previous years of bitcoin's existence, most of the time, the market is on a bull run during the final quarter of each year. So if you think there is no bull run for this year, it might be true or a bull run is also about to happen.
I totally reason with you on that, judging from the fact that no one can see the future and this is a probability game at this moment. It could happen, it may not happen; but in the long run; only time will most definitely tell. I would not be too expectant of a bull run this year though, but we both know the way this space can be full of surprises at times, but one thing for sure is that there is a possibility we may get to see an uptrend in the space before the end of the year. However, things turn out; I am sure though that it would still always pay us for being patient in the long run.
4278  Economy / Economics / Re: Germany urges global minimum tax for digital giants on: October 23, 2018, 08:10:18 AM
That sounds as one of the rarest problems Germany has right now. They have seen what technology can do and how it can change a whole country and the world improving towards more tech oriented and they are trying to prepare themselves on the fact that if there is a global tax for digital stuff than there wouldn't be a reason why any tech company select one country over another since there would be a global tax.

Companies that run away to Ireland or somewhere like that for less taxes are hurting the big nations like USA and Germany and even England because it is so easy to move away from London to Dublin. So, if germany can achieve such a task (which is really hard getting everyone agree on this) they could keep their companies in their country and help them out a lot more knowing they won't leave.
4279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: October 22, 2018, 06:44:28 PM
That's the kind of action that really shows that lakers are very motivated to win every game this season, however, the chemistry has not been form yet, it will take I guess and they might be frustrated along the way as the losing streak continues.

I'm trying not to be too harsh on them, it's been only two games. They were both highly competitive and could have gone either way. Blazers and Rockets are also one of the best teams in the west, probably top four seeds.

The thing I don't like when I watch the Lakers is when JaVale goes to the bench and they either play Bron or Kuzma at the five. They are so vulnerable defensively as there is basically no paint protection, each drive is a basket or a foul for the opposing team. Maybe give Mo Wagner or Zubac a chance idk...

At least, Lonzo gets to start now with upcoming multiple game suspensions for Rondo and Ingram.
The fight wasn't really that small to get maximum a 4 game suspension ? I mean it was all out brawl where people actually threw punches and some of the punches actually hit their faces and all that, this wasn't really some small pushing each other type deal, it was a big fight.

Now, I understand as people who watch UFC and so forth we know this was nothing in the sense that it wasn't really a big "fight" but for the NBA standards if you throw a punch and it hits your opponent the ban should be at least 20 games if not more. There is no place in the NBA for all out brawls and fights and NBA has moved well beyond the gangsta thug lets fight malice at the palace days behind, this is more modern, this is more sleek and tech NBA where more PC is used than not. Definetly should have been a longer ban for all people involved.
4280  Economy / Economics / Re: ETFs on: October 22, 2018, 05:44:30 PM
Approval of ETFs will take some more time but not too long.

I think it won't be accepted in the next one month for example because we still have a lot of ways to go however I do not believe it will be later than 2020 neither. Hence, anything between 2019 and 2020 would be a wise assumption, it will during the year 2019 but when it will be I have no idea, depends on what the SEC looking for in an ETF before they accept it.

If it is the demand than we can be assured that there is a huge demand for a bitcoin ETF and we will eventually get it however if it is "would having a bitcoin ETF affect anything" then we might have a trouble because even though all the speculators here talk about how having an ETF would change everything it probably change anything for neither us the bitcoin people nor for the ETF investors because there won't be a much change, ETF won't affect bitcoin directly so it won't change it at all.
