4801  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin versus other offline currencies on: November 18, 2017, 06:07:57 AM
For me to compare bitcoin in fiat, gold and other source of currency, bitcoin still has a lot of space for improvement bitcoin hasbit's disadvantage and advantage of course bitcoin only rely in the internet but it make transaction much more easier but fiat on the other hand is tangible it means you can see it with your own eyes and hold it with your own hands and that's what i think why a lot of people still not interested in bitcoin because what they want is the tangible one.
I would not say the reason why fiat is more tangible is because you can see it with your own eyes. It has always been the traditional means of payment for a very long time and just very few people know about bitcoin which is why I agree with you that bitcoin still has a lot of room to grow and develop.

Bitcoin is very useful and also not easy to just come by most especially these days and it is normal because assets too are always like that and the early adopters are always the ones to reap most of the benefits. So, I would rather say, time will tell, because right now, everything is evolving.
4802  Economy / Economics / Re: Turkish Central Bank President: “Cryptocurrencies May Contribute to Financial on: November 16, 2017, 12:34:26 PM
Yes this is my country They started talking. More news will be forthcoming soon.
I feel your plight and it is normal. However, looking as far back as 2009 and not judging with the present, I would not say what the president has said is untrue as so many people have gotten some stability financially whether we like it or not.

If we are to look at the volatility, we should also understand that bitcoin is decentralized and we are the ones who make this huge volatility what it is. However, you cannot compare the volatility years back to what we even have presently as the community keeps get strengthening which I feel is a plus and would even reduce the more as most countries starts showing their interest.
4803  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best exchanger to convert tokens to ethereum on: November 16, 2017, 06:50:52 AM
My question is what are good sites that will provide me smooth exchanging? How much eth balance is required? How long will it take to convert my tokens to eth? And if you are kind enough, I appreciate detailed steps on how to convert tokens to eth. Thank you!
Once the token is listed, the first thing you need to do is to use coinmarketcap to find out the exchanges the token has been listed and then send them there. There is nothing like best exchanger so far in the token market, you just have to find the best option available to do your trade on.

Usually, most of them normally make use of EtherDelta, but I will advise you to find out how it works first so that you can know all you need to do before trying to do anything.
4804  Economy / Economics / Re: Roger Ver goes full blown BCash on: November 13, 2017, 06:40:26 PM
You never answered how Roger is using his Bitcoin.com site to pump Bitcoin Cash. How is he doing that?

TL;DR: Buy the fucking dip and enjoy BCH's pump while it lasts.

A better TL;DR: Buy the fucking dip with Bitcoin Cash!

How new can you be? Bitcoin.com is propaganda central for BCash, same as the /r/btc subreddit. Also notice how this is all coming from that Korean exchange, it is obviously Roger Ver dicking around.

Also someone found this pastebin from months ago dated  Jul 30th, 2017:
That sounds worrisome though but I do not see how that would really happen. You are right by saying it is a joke and nothing more than a joke which would get so interesting even very soon when a huge dump starts. It is obvious this has been just a one way manipulation and I am not sure who he is really trying to deceive here. Users, traders ?

It is a huge pump that is just being used to manipulate the market, and this would really show how much of a shit BCH is at the long run.

4806  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How I became poor through Bitcoin and Altacoin on: November 10, 2017, 07:46:17 PM
How I became poor through Bitcoin and Altacoin
I joined Bitcoin trading June/July and that's the worst mistake of my life, thinking i could trade..
I got 10btc through graduate loan to pay back in January only for me to venture into Ethereum and Bitcoin trading.
Then segwit took place, it's was like a news to me, I saw all my coins crashed.. all i wanted was to make some income and help my dad but I got into money debt.. right now I left with fears of January..
Thou free airdrops has been my only hope for now..

Can someone advice me on how to start again.
You got 10 BTC through graduate loan and you ended up throwing everything into thin air.
As much as I really want to believe this, I am still finding it hard to. There is no way someone will just opt into trading with that kind of money without finding out first all that is needed to know about trading and if you actually did, I am not sure the name I can give you right now.

From 10 BTC to free airdrops ?
Since all your coins crashed, there is no need selling them back and at least it is not like you have lost all, just hold on and be patient, they may get pumped back except of course you are now a bagholder of shitcoins.
4807  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much can Bitcoin increase? on: November 09, 2017, 06:06:29 AM
It don't add much value but it is dividing the people who are just speculating with this issue. I'm not underrating the power of many small time bitcoin hodlers and traders, as most of us are just following and going with the flow. And so if there will be a big support to what chain will be mostly supported by the miners we'll be also sticking to that chain and coin. Thanks for your inputs, I'll also wait before B2x will be taking over bitcoin's price but if not, I'll stay.
Even if miners want to support a particular chain and the users do not want it, then I guess they will just have to switch back at some point to the most profitable one. Every miner is there for the profit and then we cannot just decide to give them and some bitcoin companies the control to dictate for us. Bitcoin legacy will still over rule as far as I am concerned and by then, all these bullshit forked coins would just be trying to find a means to survive.

The rest would be fantasy rather than fantastic since I don't know if we can across that up but if supports are growing and demands are increasing then maybe we can see more good improvement of this bitcoins. And those past good movements really shock the public thats why we can see some time to time growth and maybe we can see more at this year end comes.
Rather than support and demand, I guess the fantasy is all the thing which is doing the magic of making bitcoin prices into new heights. But it is just a initial trigger, later only demand finalize the price levels.
4808  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hold ETH or exchange it for BTC and hold BTC? on: November 09, 2017, 05:10:30 AM
I recommend that you exchange your Alts to Bitcoins. As per the speculation, bitcoins is at its hike and in my opinion it will be a long one. Just like what happened even with the forks. But since alts have sunked a lot I say wait a bit I think it will not be wise, you will lose quite some earnings or capital that you have. And also not that wise to buy bitcoins with prices this high dude.
Just be observant. Since there will be segwit, just try to recover the alts price first.
This is obviously what anyone would really want to do at this moment. The ALTs including Ethereum has really been is some pretty bad shape for a while now and it is just best to stick with BTC for now until maybe the whole fork situation dies down. Although, for those who may have some spare funds, it is also a good time to buy ALTs anyway, since it is possible most of them would still have some chances of being pumped at the long run and hence, some good profit.

Altcoins has not recovered from the 25th of October on this occasion, he has been constantly lost, Bitcoin's flying experiments are damaging Altcoins. It was not as powerful as the etherum, but it stretched to 275 dolars.
Well, we can just say the cloud is still not clear since there is still an upcoming fork and no one would really want to take that huge chance of sticking their fingers in altcoins when a lot of people learnt their lessons from all the previous forks. The second fork is around the corner and most traders, except some with balls, do not want to tamper so much with the Alt market right now.
4809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to start investing with 1$? on: November 09, 2017, 02:09:52 AM
So here I am with about 1.5$ in my poloniex account today. What advice would you give me to make this 1.5$ into 150$ by the end of next year that is 2018?

Anyplace I could get to know about pump n dumps before they happen? Any particular cheap crypto that I should hold onto?
Let nobody deceive you mate, unless you are ready to waste your time doing very much for nothing, I will suggest you find a way to increase your $1 before you start trading. It is not realistic when you are going to have to consider some of the losses you will make as this is a trading environment and predictions can always go wrong and the fees you will also pay.

I do not know about other exchanges, but you cannot even trade with less than 50000sats on bittrex which to me is even unrealistic.
4810  Economy / Speculation / Re: Investment Advice on: November 09, 2017, 01:37:55 AM
The upcoming fork (and the previous one on october the 25th) certainly plays a role in the current giant bullrun. The developments around BTC have hit the media and an unprecedented number of people are rushing into crypto with the aim of making easy profit. A crash after the 16th could occur but perhaps even sooner because the current rise in value of BTC is too sharp to be stable. I've emphasized the words 'could' and 'perhaps' because the current cryptomarket is more unpredictable than ever!
everyone knows that prices will fall after every hard fork so that is why their is nothing new in upcoming fork of segwit2x on 16 November, prices will fall at certain point like $6.5k or may be maximum $6k, but as we all know the prices will always recover after one or 2 months and again bitcoin gainstability in cryptomarket.
If you have really followed the past 2 forks, then you would know that what you have said is not right.
Hardly was there a huge fall in any of the forks except for the China news that happened after the first fork which was even a month after and had nothing to do with the fork.

However, all forks have even proven to the users that it means even much more surge in price for bitcoin and even whenever we see some slight corrections; it does not even take up to 2 months like you said, before it recovers and head straight to the moon again, barely 2 weeks before we even see that.
4811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it time to Buy Alts & Hold??? on: November 08, 2017, 06:33:19 PM
This is a request from one of my friends...

He needs to know, the ALTS price is law at the moment. Even short term profitable coins.

Is this the time to buy them & Hold for month or two & take profits? Intends to buy & Hold
take profit.

Any suggestion experts pls?
This does not need much expert suggestion. The alts have bled enough and even if they would have to bleed a little bit more, it won't be that huge, so your friend can go ahead to buy them as they are pretty much in a very good buying state right now. Also, he should be careful the kind of coin he buys as some altcoins are shitty and unless he is willing to hold that coin for long, then he should not even bother.

buy alts and hold - but keep an eye on them for the next week, as I expect they will continue to drop as BTC goes up
That is very possible if Bitcoin keeps going up, although most of them will get pumped a little and then start experiencing the same level of dump again with bitcoin soaring. It is a norm and it is better to get as much quick profit one can get from them without being too greedy in case such scenario occurs or just stick to the charts for any strange movement.
4812  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Holding BTC vs Day trading or short term trading. on: November 08, 2017, 08:22:02 AM
So I have been in crypto for a while now, February precisely, and regrettably I wish I had never dabbled into day trading or short term trading. I have been burnt a lot trying to play the game of trading. Often times I end up buy too high thereby becoming a bagholder, and when I finally sell, it's at a loss.
So I can't help but wish I had just held on to my BTC. Would have been grinning from ear to ear today.  #Lessonlearned

Day trading or short term trading is not for everyone and requires a certain skill set as well as mental control. Although you say you've learned your lesson perhaps what you have learned could be used to have better results again in the future, you've identified that you buy too high so try and correct this and be even stricter with what price you buy at.
It is certainly not for everyone and that is the mistake most newbies in trading always make.
They usually feel they can just gamble their way into trading, make some decisions that they feel could be right and then end up being wrong.

They are always the FOMOs most time looking for the coin that is rising and then trying to quickly make some gains and just like the OP ends up being bag holders.

Anyone who wants to trade very good, should first consider the kind of coins they want to trade, then always look for the best position and then have patience until they hit with some strategies too, in case they are losing.
4813  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why you should buy Bitcoin now. on: November 08, 2017, 02:56:20 AM
I have been following bitcoin price's actions since August last year and one thing that is common is that price pattern do repeat itself. Event that happens in July to August this year is about to repeat itself again. I have been going through a lot of speculations threads and many of them are saying that bitcoin is going to clash after splitting but I disagree with that and for your information another pump is about to happen and this is going to push bitcoin price above  $8,000. I have also see that this may happen before end of this year.

I don't have reason to buy bitcoin this time, loss will be mine ( private opinion ). If we see from graphic chart there's no significant moving or even positive news about bitcoin. I believe bitcoin will has slowly moving until end of the year and make me exchange my money into currency for safety. I don't like challenge but I like safe and safe is my investment mindset. Even bitcoin has give me profit but I have control to not buy it, the moment is not right. Good luck to you.
We cannot say yet. The thing is if you have really been taking a closer look, it does not take bitcoin long seconds to start increasing in value hugely once positive news drop. It is always more like some people are always on the news, and absolutely whales are too.

This makes the spikes we experience to always be sudden. Moreover, there is much upcoming news at the moment and I am so sure this may really drive the value of bitcoin in no time. The best is just to keep buying as much as one can and as much as one can afford.
4814  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: should i buy btc now or sell? on: November 07, 2017, 07:11:24 PM
hallo guys, i am new to trading btc. and days before the bitcoin gold fork, i was advice to sell my btc (which i did) because it was suspected to drop in price few days to come. But surprisingly, from then till this very moment, btc has been on a continuous rise. now btc is at $7000+ and we are getting close to the next fork in mid-nov. DO YOU GUYS ADVICE I BUY BACK BTC AT THIS CURRENT PRICE OR WAIT for a possible drop in price?
The first mistake you ever made was selling your BTC because of the fork. It is pretty obvious that forks are more or less like scams and are becoming ignored by the community gradually. The truth is no one can really tell you know whether to buy in back or not cause we cannot see the future but if you are holding for a long term, I do not see why you should be bothering yourself when to buy or sell BTC.

We might experience some corrections but no one knows which news may cause the value of bitcoin to spike even further. So, it is best you follow your own mind and own up to any decision you make since you have already missed the ATH trading, but you will still get it back if you buy and hold for the future.
4815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin is harmful or profitable? on: November 07, 2017, 03:26:21 PM
I don't know.
But it has been profitable for the last 8 years.
The price jumped from nowhere to $7000 and is rapidly increasing.
It was $700 a year ago  (6 november 2016) and in a year has increased by x10.
I believe that is enough for any layman to know that it has been very profitable so far. Bitcoin is a digital currency with a lot of uses and the demand for the value is what increases the price and as long as we all keep sticking to the fact that we want to keep using it, it will end up not just profitable.

But would make its daily usage and means of transaction very lovely and anyone who wants to consider it as probably harmful should better stay away. Every investment comes with a risk and if the OP cannot understand the risk by himself, then he is absolutely not ready to invest.
4816  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen if the government know bitcoin in your country? on: November 07, 2017, 05:44:27 AM
Well they do know that Bitcoin is within the country, though I've developed a theme that I think the government doesn't think that Bitcoin isn't enough of an issue yet to go forth and ban / do things that will limit the growth of Bitcoin through massive waves of regulation. But as I said, they're not going to do it unless Bitcoin is a real threat - as they don't want to make people angry when they really don't have to do it yet.

It will happen though, NY has already done it and so has the state of Washington. Sadly enough, Government isn't going to give up control and they will stop at nothing to keep control.
It seems some countries are still trying to view the population of the users before they can really see if it is enough for them to take any serious step or not. It is kind of reasonable and I would not blame them, however, it is even better to start regulating at this level by using some developed countries as a case study and implementing the same before it gets so huge.

With your final statement, that is pretty obvious and we all know the highest that can happen is for government to accept it sideways but giving up control be giving up fiat is something we can never see and the highest that would ever happen is for them to adopt the blockchain technology and create a centralized cryptocurrency of their own.
4817  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is bitcoin better than stocks, real-estate? on: November 07, 2017, 04:52:20 AM
Bitcoin is a very profitable asset, but we can`t compare it with stocks and real estate.
Sooner or later the tremendous btc growth will slow down or even stop and we have to be ready.
This might happen after a few years or maybe next year.
Some assets provide less risk and less profit and other more profit and more risk.Bitcoin doesn`t fit anywhere and i can`t consider btc  a risky asset. This will change in the future.
This is just a plain fact. Over time we will see a form of stability, however, how soon that would be is what is not known. It is normal to always see some booms once in a while which is totally based on adoption and then it stops and we start seeing the normal market volatility of few percentages based on some few factors and all which is normal. Bitcoin has grown pass being a risky asset, not that most countries are finding ways to regulate its usage and over time, it would just be used normally and then held probably as an asset for stable and little growth.
4818  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Resistance level of BTC on: November 06, 2017, 07:15:45 PM
Ah thats like a dream question and my dream says I would watch the price of bitcoin to fall all the way down to $100 to 500 and that would be the day I will buy bitcoin in dozens of amount and will hold it at least for five years from there onwards. Because I will have the idea already that it will be 10K or so soon after the people start investing money into it. For sure I’m buying at the rate of 1K, 2K also because that is still good opportunity. I mean with couple of hundred investment and with current rates the profits would be more than 50 times and who won’t be wanting that to happen. My resistance level is far below and I would watch it fall like anything if it is gonna come back to old rates.
LOL. That is a dream we both know can never come to pass unless something pretty huge happens. We cannot always have it all and would you even watch it to fall that bad before you get in. Do you know how many people would even wish they had bought at $4000 right now and fast they would gulp it, if it ever did.

For now, I guess we just have to stick with the current situation, if something crazy happens for sure, we buy pretty much more but I doubt it ever will, at least not as worst as what China caused in the past.
4819  Economy / Economics / Re: What is Bitcoin's fair value? on: November 06, 2017, 06:32:45 PM
That is no wonder why bitcoin is having so much price at the movement. According to your speculation or the article read bitcoins monetary base value is dependent on the terminal value which is also the same thing as competing with market cap value.

It will keep growing in the same way as the traditional assets do and will depend on the same things. It only differs with the decentralisation nature which different thing. That has some percentage of effect on deciding price of bitcoin because it gives freedom of investing into bitcoin.
Yes, the decentralization alone is a value and the fact that people end up knowing that the government cannot just be busy controlling their way of spending and enslaving them is what would make bitcoin to keep increasing in value.

The value of bitcoin at any point is fair since there is demand for it and without utility or great value, the demand would not have been high. So, even if it is tagged at $1 million, it is still a fair value as long as people need it, just the law of nature.
4820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Electroneum Price Speculation on: November 06, 2017, 03:33:05 PM
Electroneum is one of the best succssful ICOs. In fact, it is the biggest so far. Now that the ICO is finished, what is the current price of Electroneum and what do you think of its value after 6 months to 1 year? Is it better to HODL it? What do you think?
I feel this coin was overhyped and people are already beginning to lose some trust in the devs. However, it is still normal for coins to get dumped and it seems they are only listed on cryptopia presently, trading at $0.11 and there is every possibility that we may experience more dumps at the end. We just wait and see how it all ends. However, the whole mobile mining bullshit were just flukes and at the end they will end up back like any normal coin.

But honestly I do not have any more plans to invest regularly here. But expecting some good returns for my initial one time returns. I guess I am not doing anything wrong by not keep investing.
Keeping investing into one coin will ensure success on your investments. But, not all the coins require that. When you started with high potential one then one time investment itself more than enough.
