4621  Economy / Speculation / Re: Long or Short since Bitcoin reached 8800 again? on: March 24, 2018, 06:00:01 PM
Long, always long. I hold bitcoin because I believe it is and will be the best coin, so I don’t care that much about the price. I am fully aware that it is a highly volatile asset, so I take what has happened in the past months for granted. It reached 19k too fast, so now we are in a consolidation phase.
I have been long since 2013 and I see no reason why I should not continue being long as I believe in the future of bitcoin. I did a little bit of shorting anyway when the market had a bull rally and it simply showed some possibility of downtrend and I got back long at $6200.

So, I guess I have to wait to see how that turns out eventually. Nothing much is going on in the market apart from the recent news, but it seems that is not sufficient enough to give the market a good boost.
4622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is a good amount to invest? on: March 24, 2018, 01:41:41 PM
investing is a very important concept for human life. First of all, you have to know the presentation. factors such as your income, your life style, your risk taking status are invested. so you decide best how much you need to invest. but whatever it is, take care of the risk you risk taking. and never trust a single investment objective.
Always a concept that would keep making the rich richer and those who are ready to switch lanes to the wealthy part also get rich. It is all about taking risk and it all depends on the risk every single person is willing to take. Normally, when taking risk, it is always good to be calculated about it and take one that would not hurt badly if things go wrong and in that case, it is an individual decision to make and not a general thing.

A good amount to invest is totally dependent on each individual's pocket and how much they are willing to risk to invest. Every investment is a risk, so it is necessary to always consider the risk level before even considering the idea of investing in the first place. Personally for me, I have taken it on myself to always invest just 20% if any additional holding I get in fiat and that is good enough for me which has been working a lot for now.
4623  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do you want high price of bitcoin after all? on: March 24, 2018, 01:09:01 PM
Man everything you said is right. I never even wanted a high price for Bitcoin. I remember that Bitcoin was once sold for $150 and $200 when I was still a newbie. I’m even surprised it got this far, cause I never expected it to go up to this extent which it did. But there are some evil and greedy people in this community that are only interested in their useless and selfish reasons which will in no way will benefit others. We need them out, though it’s not possible.
I like that you completed it with impossible. First, greedy people will always have a part to play in every system, so we cannot rule them out. Secondly, we cannot dispute the fact that only few people will be happy with bitcoin being stagnant without much movement, and we would not have gotten to this level of growth. Lastly, this is a deflationary decentralized currency, so what really do we expect ?

As long as it is not controlled, we can do nothing but to keep seeing people get greedy. At least the greed of people has helped us find the need to scale.
4624  Economy / Economics / Re: I want to invest more of what I don't have (money) on: March 24, 2018, 10:31:48 AM
Investing all your assets is not advisable mate, you need to have separate capital for this method of earning because investing money is very risky specially here in crypto currency the worst thing may possible to happen anytime. Those coins you wanting to invest is less known coin which is more risky to invest but the possibility to gain good profit is there. Taking big risk may lead to get huge profit.
Since he is even lacking the funds, he really should not be thinking of investing and should probably be thinking of how to work and make some money. If he is trying to consider taking loan to invest, he should better think again because that would be the worst mistake of his life.

The best is always to Invest what one has and what one can afford to let go in case anything happens and in that case I would even want to consider bitcoin mostly if I have the money to spare rather than altcoins. Although, one of his pick, EOS has been having good stuff going for them, but rather wait, work and earn some cash and take part of it to invest, no matter how small.
4625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does positive thinking affect your edge in gambling on: March 23, 2018, 10:36:16 AM
Some people think that strong feeling affect the outcome of your bet. But for me its all about luck., what do you think guys.
I highly doubt that positive thinking can affect the outcome of our bet as if we are playing on an online casino then already the outcome is fixed by the algorithm on which the casino is built, but if we are betting on a sports game then also there is no chance that outcome is dependent on the positive thinking. But if we are playing in a physical casino then there are chances that the outcome can be affected by our positive thinking to a certain extent.
Gambling thru online engagement would be entirely different since we cant able to applied up positive thinking towards our actions compared on playing a physical casino where we can some positive views that might affect our gameplay. For example when we do play poker, having a calm mind will really give you some advantage since you are confident and enjoying on what you are doing.
You cannot even apply any form of positive thinking in any form of gambling. The fact is that some people have actually ended up losing themselves to gambling as a result of trying to think positively.

It is better to know that gambling is just only going to make the owners of the gambling platform or the casinos rich and at the end, the gambler will always end up losing unless luck is just highly on the person's side. If anyone can know that, it will help not to go ahead of your limit trying to be positive.
4626  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling: Culture on: March 23, 2018, 06:22:20 AM
Gambling is just a general thing in any place that it is not illegal and it is just the way we do it that differs. In my country, asides from lottery and sport betting, that is all that is to it and truly, it is making a lot of waves to the point that you now see people every day and even learned ones, doing a little bit of it and expecting a good result.

For children though, I have not seen anything close to it in my country, but probably because I do not go out to some part of the suburbs to see what is really happening which I won't be surprised.

Regardless of legality nor availability of gambling in anywhere, it must be a basic responsibility for every parent for protecting and guiding their children so that they can grow like a responsible citizen. A proper gambling culture must focus on young generations too, otherwise it may lead to imbalanced environment among people and their behaviors.

4628  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: encourage others to crypto on: March 03, 2018, 05:32:40 PM
Crypto should be encourage to others because every users can get benefits in this kind of activity. Its either can get higher amount of tokens or even small amount. Eventhough a user can't earn money but atleast they can get an information and to have a knowledge on how the cryptocurrency affects the way of living of every users.
A lot of benefit to go around. The fact that we keep explaining to those close to us about cryptocurrency, give them links they can read, share news with them, this would always help in creating awareness. Sure, we cannot force anyone to want to do whatever they feel like doing, but at the end, there is this fulfillment when you see some people you explained certain things to, investing in the future and doing well for themselves.

I have always been opportune to see people call me to explain to them all that is needed to know about cryptocurrency since they noticed how my status have changed in a very short while, Grin I am always happy to do that, there is love in sharing and there is so much more to go around, so there is no point hoarding any information as long as the person finds it useful and it benefits them.
4629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What coin do you HOLD in 2018? on: March 01, 2018, 03:52:06 PM
Many coins have a big potential to grow this year and some have already show some of bullishness like litecoin, ethereum and ripple. I perfer to hold ethereum, ripple and litecoin along with bitcoin this year. Those cryptocurrencies have big chances to grow more particularly in the 4th quarter or before the year ends. There are also reports that more crypto investors are planning to purchase more coins as the year progresses.
Except ripple, I will agree with your portfolio. Because ripple is a centralized one hence they may freeze out your funds at any time if they prefer. My all-time favorite is bitcoin alone. Because it will be having huge demand in coming years hence we can expect very big rally. Unlike any other altcoins, bitcoin will be having many development is going on which will be the prime reason why I am always keep suggesting to go for bitcoin investment compared to any other altcoins.
4630  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crash Incoming on: March 01, 2018, 03:07:50 PM
Either crash or correction, you may call it with any terms. But, it will be part of every market so we could see it with crypto currency market also. We never need to get panic for any incoming crash as it will be another buying opportunity if we had missed the boat earlier. If we get this kind of mentality then we never need to worry about any corrections and we can simply continue holding our portfolio for the better returns.

Bitcoin may not correct incoming weeks as it is looking stronger with respect to buying pressure across many major exchanges. We can expect bitcoin prices to make a new ATH at any time soon like within this month also it will be possible. When bitcoin will be having upward momentum then we can be sure altcoins also will follow it.
4631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Reason why you need to consider investing in ethereum rather than bitcoin!!! on: March 01, 2018, 12:29:07 PM
Consider the fact that ether is still underpriced at $1,000 ($100B market cap).Ether should be well over that. Consider the fact that ether handles more transactions than all other blockchains combined!
We are still in the early stages of crypto, Though  the price of bitcoin will likely rise as well, but ether seems much more promising  to become the crypto crown in the nearest future. Some conservative predictions have ether hitting a 1 trillion market cap by 2020. Wink Wink Wink
Handling more transactions will be enough reason for a coin to grow better than bitcoin ? Are you serious ? What are the real time applications to which eth is capable of addressing ? Could you mention any real time application of eth other than providing platform for ICOs ? I'm afraid you could never come up with any answer.

I agree eth is still in its earlier stage and its bumping may continue in coming years also but one day or other you may regret for your decision of choosing eth and ignoring bitcoins. Look into the potential aspects and then decide.
4632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When will I be able to see any profit in my altcoins? on: March 01, 2018, 11:45:07 AM
Do not sell anything and just wait, so you definitely will not lose anything. If possible - buy the same coins on the drawdown.
But when I am looking into his portfolio, he is not having any well established coins and all the coins are newer to the market and they might need some more time to show potential if they have any. Like any new typical investors, OP is also looking is for making profit in quick time but it is a common psychology of all the investors, we cannot blame. But, to have definite profit, it is always suggested to go with only highly reputed coins like bitcoins. So that seeing profits within days will be possible like if we have bought when bitcoin prices hit $6000 some weeks back.

Altcoins may let you make profits in short-term but we cannot estimate any time-frame for that to happen. If you choose new projects then we must give them enough time to show case real time potential which will be attracting more investors which will be eventually leading to higher prices for those coins.
4633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reading Whitepapers on: March 01, 2018, 11:15:46 AM
Reading whitepapper is very necessary to educate their audience about a particular project in market. The goal of whitepapper is to inform and convince people on based of facts and evidence about project, to invest in.
White Paper is the basic thing where we can find all the aspects like what are the problems that project is going to handle and what are the solutions they are going to produce by that project. We can skip reading White papers only if we are having some good advisers. I believe no medium scale investors will be having financial recommendation subscription from any such houses hence we all need to study their White Paper so that we can get clear idea about that project.

Reading White Paper must be a time-consuming because we need to get the idea of that project. It is like understanding what are the solutions they are going to provide. If we are finding that solution is good and having some potential to attract other investors too then we can decide to go for investing with that project. Reading White Paper is a must thing for every investor.
4634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Laxmi Coin for India and international market on: March 01, 2018, 10:12:29 AM
Why India need separate coin ? What are the exclusive functionality that laxmi coin is going to have which are not available from any other coin ? Without any explicit purposes why do we need another coin which is targeting a country specific audience ? Because I'm just afraid that it will be another clone without any proper purposes backing it.

In the past, we have seen some country specific coins but they were all failing because they were not capable of providing any country-specific advantages. When crypto currency and block chain technology is free of borders then I am sure having any country specific coin is completely meaningless.
4635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have $50000 for investment which fortfolio is best for 2018 on: March 01, 2018, 08:43:25 AM
there is a lot of people investing in crap. They'll see when they don't make money off of what they picked.
After the rapid growth of bitcoin from last year, many altcoins found growth due to their value is decided by bitcoin's value which makes many people to think about investing into altcoins. I believe almost all the crypto investors must be having some blind investments just because of flashy advertisements. Probably they are capable of making some returns in short-term but in long term they might need to face losses.

I am always suggesting to go for bitcoin investments for any amount of capital. Because it will be giving consistent returns regardless of what will be the market situations or what will be the economical environment of world countries. If we pick only bitcoin then there will be plenty of chances for making good returns for the given time rather than struggling with some altcoins.
4636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will blockchain kill traditional banking? on: March 01, 2018, 08:13:39 AM
I think not. Because traditional banking is more reliable banking to those people who want to deposit and withdraw money even the transaction within is more hazel and to slow. Traditional banking is much more safer than digital banking although digital banking is much faster and less hazel than traditional banking and even digital banking is much profitable than traditional.
No it will kill but it will take more time than we are expecting. Because the basic infrastructure for all the people around the world to adopt bitcoin or any other crypto currency might need more time to get setup. Until then we cannot expect our blockchain technology will be killing traditional banking system. But it will happen one day are other as the entire world is moving towards newer technology which will be making life more convenient and supporting people for their time saving.

If you look around the world people are switching over to smart phone with high-speed data connectivity which are the basic requirement for anyone to switch over to crypto based banking system. Surprisingly it is already happening in many part of the world and I do see it is the first step for killing traditional banking system.
4637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is bitcoin legal??? on: February 28, 2018, 06:13:55 PM
There are a lot of discussions about this topic, but there isn't too much to say: it dependes very much from the country where you live in.
Btw, governments can only make big claim trying to scare the population, but there is no way to control the use of bitcoin.
Eventually, there can be some trouble when you try to exchange them in fiat currency, but until you use bitcoin online, may be with tot, there is little that government can do.
Yeah, everything is all centered on the government of each country. In so many places, there is a strict law on its usage, in some places, they are already regulated and in some places, there is really nothing much about it and everyone is free to go on with their daily activities regarding cryptocurrency as long as they understand the risk. It is understanding that some countries are still skeptical and most especially the communist or socialist setting, but it would all change anyway.
4638  Other / Archival / Re: So many Bounties-Which one is trusted? on: February 28, 2018, 02:23:59 PM
Whilst it's a good idea to follow bounties with high scores by trusted sources, they are not always accurate. Some bounties that are highly advertised as trustworthy end up being scams, not allocating the tokens promised, or are absolutely saturated with too many other bounty hunters.

If you take a little risk and go with the ones that aren't as widely known - the smaller and unknown ones - you will have less competition from fellow bounty hunters and thus the potential to earn a lot more. With higher risk comes potentially greater reward. Do your own due diligence and research in the project before promoting it.

I think it is a reasonable way, but I think if some projects are very hot with a lot of bounty hunters and followers, the ico maybe very successful and the bounty hunters can get their tokens since the dev team have enough tokens to distributed and they will not risk to let them down.
This is not about the bounty hunters getting their tokens or the project being successful because of the more bounty hunters, this is about not being a victim of scam even as a bounty hunter and as a bounty hunter, you should always remember that you are responsible for the people you dish out those adverts too.

Most bounty hunters really do not see themselves as investor as well, which is why they just join any bounty rather than making the little ones they join count.
4639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EtherDelta! It's not safe anymore !? on: February 27, 2018, 08:01:14 AM
EtherDelta is a good exchange. Just use Metamask or go to the Tezor hardware wallets, and your coins will be safe. And do not forget to check the name of the site!
If there is another exchange, I prefer to run from ED.
deals are very slow and gas is huge, that's one of the reasons I want to go.
DEX will probably become ED's biggest rival.
I hope so. They always start well, then as time goes on it becomes crazy. I stopped using etherdelta and idex just because of the fee and the gas I have to pay for deposit. It sucks mate! I rather just prefer waiting for the token to get listed on a centralized exchange that is trustable and then trade it there.

Etherdelta has so many times shown not to be secured with series of attack most especially if the site could be diverted, so nothing makes the different then ?
4640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How I fucked up and turned ~600 BTC into 200 BTC on: February 27, 2018, 06:50:08 AM
You really did fucked up hard, and i know you have learned your lessons, you just need to get some time to review each coins you wanted to invest in because most of your coins are shitcoins,im pretty sure you didnt do some research firsdt, the first thing you need to know is Bitcoin's price would dictate all the altcoin's faith that is why we need to stick with bitcoin if you want to be safe with the high volatility,70% of my portfolio is in bitcoin 30% is in the altcoins,if you really are a good trader you can make atleast 10-15% daily average gains from the altcoins.

200 btc is still huge amount i am sure you will still recover from your losses, always do a lot of research so you wont be fucked up with these shitcoins.
Yeah, very badly and I am sure he must have learnt his lessons by now. It is not a new story, this was on reddit like six months ago, and the OP should have at least quoted the original author.

It is however good to have it on this thread in this kind of period when newbies have a lot to learn and not just opt into trading because of greed but rather learn first before even trying anything. Not sure what the person eventually did, but if he held those coins back then, he should have gotten huge profit on most of them when the altcoins rallied recently.
