Yep, sure can.

Superb. Just playing with setup and didn't want to cock anything up as soon as I've got it.

Just received my R606 from eyeboot (great service) and was just wondering if i can change the voltage while its running/hashing? I haven't read this question anywhere yet and I've scoured the thread and tried searching but not found the answer.

Finally someone is making a proper flashlight!! Why oh why do they insist on having all the flashing modes that you HAVE to cycle through to turn it off  Huh

I spoke to bitshopper before christmas and said he was due to be getting some in but obviously the shop move happened and (as you said) his backlog maybe be considerable and account for the whole order. Nevermind, I've got one on the way now and will probably be back with some daft questions.

Glad to hear its all functional and things have been going well. -20c??? Shocked Thats ridiculous!! Don't neglect the living space, its not good for the wellbeing and your enthusiasm to keep us home gamers supplied with new gear  Grin

Speaking of new gear, what is the stuff your working on? Is it mining related at all?

Shipping isn’t usually any different between the two originating countries but due to the medical issues out there I was hoping someone had one that wouldnt get held up due to the travel restrictions china has placed on companies and individuals etc. Anyway klintay has sorted me out one and hopefully it should be here next week-ish. It will be nice to finally get my hands on one seeing as Ive saved enough for one now.

On a different note, sidehack, how is the shop move going?

Does anyone have the R606 in stock that's not located in China (tried bitshopper as I'm in the UK but still has no stock)? Not that I'm opposed to anything from china normally, just with the current state of medical things over there I was looking at delivery being sooner rather than later.

You could try setting the freq higher by changing the 200 to 250 in the cgminer command. If it still drops down to 181 then its most likely the hub. Not knowing how the power is distributed between ports you could try plugging them in at either end of the ports with data (not the charging ports). Also at anything over 100freq you will need a fan on them.

Hello guys, small question I have 2 NewPac keys which operate in frequency of 200Mhz but one of them went down to 181Mhz, do you know how to increase the frequency by command line?

If you are using the cgminer at the beginning of this thread then it has "autotune" and 181m is where your stick is happy to run at with its current power source. You can change the frequency in the .bat file you created but if the usb hub you have it plugged into can't supply enough power it will always downclock until its stable.

What is your current setup? What OS are you using? What hub? mains powered hub or non-powered?

Exactly! I try to do everything right and still I got corrosion. I’m going mad trying to work out what it could be.

How about your room temp.? Maybe you are living on a cold place that is why it still getting corrosion.

The ideal temp is around 60 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit if you get lower than 60 some components will always fail.

I’m in London, UK. Outside temp is like 8c during the day and 1-2c on some nights. Inside temp is only 3~5c higher.

Its probably the humidity this time of year in the UK. Always damp in the air and if you are drawing in cold air directly from outside chances are thats whats caused it. I'm from the UK and contemplated mining in my garage but it would be roasting in summer and a nightmare for keeping them cool, then winter would be the same problem you are having now. Thought better of it and just downclocked my miners (only a couple of old s9's) and put them in a spare bedroom with the heating turned off, small windows open and a fan blowing hot air out. Seemed to work ok. Well until electricity prices forced me to sell them as they weren't profitable.

Howdy,

One of my 2PACs has the led constantly burning white.

I guess this one is broken?

Is there a 2 year warranty on this when bought from a european reseller?

You would need to ask the EU seller you purchased it from. Personally I would only expect a 30 day warranty on mining devices of this nature due to the unknown aspects of the user overclocking them and whether it was done correctly.
512  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Hooking up Antminer S3 to 750 watt power supply on: January 04, 2020, 09:34:49 AM
According to a quick google search this was found on bitmains website:-

"After powering on the miner for 2 minutes, please press "Reset" button for 5 seconds, then release it. The miner will be restored factory settings within 4 minutes and automatically restart (no need to power off the miner)."

Also I assume your network IP range is set to 192.168.1.** and not 192.168.0.** ??

I had to change mine to find a second hand miner I purchased so I could log in and change the network settings in the miner over to my default network IP range.

No. I build things that I think should exist but don't, and I still believe hobby and home-scale miners should be a thing. If I stop making them, they won't get made.

Here here!!

Switched to a pi4 a couple of weeks ago. Running 6x Newpacs at 600m. Waiting for an R606 to become available in the UK/EU then I can hook that up too.

Hey, just a quick question. I am currently running 4 newpacs on antpool. I am mining bch for better payouts. The antpool software reports my hash rate and it is showing a lot higher than what I get in cgminer. I have the newpacs on a gekkoscience hub clocked at 500mhz running very smoothly. I have seen the hash rate spike over 500gh and as high as 900 thru the antpool monitor is this typical. I am not getting any weird resets. ASIC boost is enabled. Any thoughts on this??

Thats completely normal. I get spikes on the pool I use upto 1.1Th but cgminer is running stable at 815Ghs. Sometimes when I check to pool it says 0.6Th but its just down to how the pool is reporting it and how frequent your shares are accepted. Nothing to worry about.

Whats your profits like? How many newpacs have you got running on the pool and do you use cgminer or there software?

Hey, can you recommend a good usb hub for 5-6 USB Mining devices? I have 6x Gekkoscience 2PAC which pull 3,5W each. I don't want to spend $60 on the "recommended" 10 usb hub for this...

Much appreciated.

Gekkoscience USB hub is the one to go for. Plenty of power and extremely well built.

Just out of curiosity, why do you need them to reset at specific intervals?

As you've probably guessed I'm no linux/raspberry pi expert but I came across someone trying to do a similar thing while I was searching trying to sort my autorun problem. I think they used python to get it setup/write a script and then the crontab -e to get it to run continuously.
