501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: May 16, 2023, 05:37:00 PM
Why do you have to visit 3 countries?, I think if you intend to watch the world cup matches live because your country's national team will play, just look at the group phase where your country will be based camp, after that if they can advance to the next round then the United States is the choice because this country has a larger portion of organizing matches than the other two countries, but if you don't have the funds for that then it's actually not a problem because matches will always be broadcast live and that's enough in my opinion because I will like that too.

That is not a fair argument. There are millions of football fans around the world, who want to watch the world cup matches in person rather than on television. And conducting the tournament in three countries instead of one complicates things for them. The last time world cup was co-hosted was in 2002, when the matches were staged in Japan and South Korea. Even then, the distance between venues were manageable. But that is not the case with USA and Canada. Boston to San Francisco is close to 5,000 km and even by air it will take 6-7 hours. And then there are visa requirements to travel in the US. Getting a US visa can be very difficult.

There should be no problem getting Canada's visa if the holder is already holding a US visa as that will be a clear sign that the person holding it is not on anybody else's blocklist. While Mexico is somewhat a free country where you can visit without having any visa for a good 6 months or 180 days to be exact. Moreover, if you're someone who's living in a first world country, you wouldn't have to think of these problems as almost everything can be achievable with just a passport.

Quite unfair, isn't it? Grin
Anyway, it is what it is because America's closest allied countries are really granted with an almost easy access since then. That said, they will have the most advantage in this event because they will not be having any troubles in entering towards US soil compared to other people especially if they came from a 3rd world country, but there should be no problems at all to watch this event as long as they have the correct requirements and completed every check that they placed before you will be granted an access.
502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 16, 2023, 04:54:39 PM

Despite being a huge underdog, it's worth taking a risk on the Heat because we know they won't give up easily. They reached the NBA Finals in the bubble, and Butler has been delivering the best playoff performance of his career this offseason. I'm confident he won't be stopped by the Celtics. The Heat are playing with great discipline, and everyone is contributing to their defensive efforts.

So, why not? Let's go Heat!

Although many think about that Celtics can able to defeat Miami on this series but for sure this will not be so easy for them. miami is well build team now and Butler and Adebayo is on their best form. Maybe the most consistent team on defensive ends will have a chance to win this match up. And the main assignment of Miami is to limit the scoring of Celtics shooters. For sure Heat fans are cuorious to see how their campaign goes since they are the underdog on teams left battling for championship.

Most probably, Jimmy Butler will be guarded by two of Celtic's players since they don't have any extra offensive players as Herro is not on the list now. They cannot afford to give the liberty and opportunity to get near the paint because his mid range shot is almost impossible to miss plus they the Celtics need to be mindful as well with their movements as Jimmy can always get that as an advantage to shoot FTs.

On their first game, I gotta give it to the Miami Heat to win because from what I have observed, the Celtics are mostly committing some mistakes during their first game before they can adjust and absorb their mistakes but it will be too late for them because that will be at the expense of their 1st game.
503  Economy / Economics / Re: Success is fundamentally determined by luck, not effort. on: May 16, 2023, 03:11:20 AM

Recently I have had numerous reunions with Uncles from my extended family. Some of them are successful businessmen for decades. They built their business from nothing and are living quite a comfortable life now. We had long conversations about life in general, including their key to success. I knew very well that they have been hard workers ever since I had a memory so I would contribute their success to endless efforts. However, one thing they had mentioned in common was luck. They believe pure luck made them meet and grasp those opportunities and become successful rather than their smartness and efforts. I've thought about this before and couldn't agree with this more. They've set very good examples to me, including my father, and now I tend to focus more on work itself consistently and let luck or fate takes the rest.
You know you can’t tell that those who have been working for long and succeed in their businesses are only dependent on their hard work and efforts. For sure they also prayed for luck that will favor whatever their decisions they made in their business. And when both luck and efforts are combined, that will attract more positive vibes so that success could easily come in. I guess that’s why Chinese businessmen are very successful when it comes to business because they always let their luck and efforts work together to create high chances for success.
504  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can copy trading be profitable on: May 16, 2023, 02:42:21 AM
I read about copy trading to understand it better and to see what research is available about it. It seems to be an okay method, but it increases the risk-taking among people because they tend to trust those whose trades they copy. But nobody can guarantee any profits, and 1% per day adds up to quite a lot per month, so I wouldn't say it's an easy and reasonable expectation. Apart from wins, there can also be losses, and consistent winning is the hard part, even if it's copying someone who is supposedly good at this. I don't think it's real, and the risk outweighs the potential benefits for me.

Copy trading is not really a bad idea as you can make your trades more profitable once you determine the right trader to copy. However, even if you copy those trades from a veteran trader, know that the market is changeable and its conditions vary most of the time, so that makes your trades not guaranteed to succeed. And I don’t think copy trading will create more advantages on a beginner trader for long term, knowing that trader will no longer have the chance to develop his own skills and strategies that may work in trading.
505  Economy / Economics / Re: Why you should use spare money to invest on: May 15, 2023, 09:53:09 PM
There is no normal being that loves getting losses on business, career, investment and trades that's why even company holders make financial policies to keep record of investment and profits flows. And unlike other business bitcoin also makes sales and losses if you do not investment wisely....is nice when you put in what can not put you sickbed or gives you hypertension, don't invest out of what you cannot withstand the loss.

Is better to use small money or learn risk management first before investing especially newbies.
That’s one of the basics in investing, putting a small amount of money at first so that if you lose, you will never be affected with it. But since new investors are mostly greedy, they immediately invest in big amount hoping that it will surely give them big returns. And when they lose them because of their greed and being impatient in the market, they end up having financial struggles and jump into conclusion that crypto is a real scam and should not be trusted for all investors.
506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You are still very early on: May 15, 2023, 09:34:31 PM
1. Bitcoin total max supply is almost at 21milliion, why should I invest?
2. Bitcoin miners are not making more Bitcoin as they used to.
3. Bitcoin value is too high, I won't make enough gains investing in Bitcoin.

Before you nailed me to the wall for saying these, this aren't mine, they are shit talks I heard from people who believe that Bitcoin investment is too late, what advice do you have for them? Your contributions are welcome.

All I could tell such people is that, they should look at the bigger picture, we are still early than they think, how many people in the world are out of Bitcoin and Crypto? Not even 10% of the whole world population are in Crypto today, and the most effective reason for Bitcoin to keep growing is the adoption rate.

Like I keep telling people, with 0.1BTC in few more years you will be one of the Bitcoin OGs, all you need to do is HODL firmly.

Remember that some early Bitcoin adopters bought pizza with their Bitcoin, real scarcity rate and massive adoption is coming, don't stress yourself, just go for 0.1BTC.
Do not pressure yourself trying to invest big like greedy investors did. Start with small investment first as the market is still young and too early before it matures. And know that no one’s late in crypto investment, as long as you invest in potential coins like bitcoin. And from there, just trust the process and invest for long term. That’s a good start for you so you will still be in profits while not putting pressures on yourself.
507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice when you are going a bit far in gaming and betting on: May 15, 2023, 08:59:24 PM
This is just the basics, but anyone should be aware of it:

Budget: set it BEFORE you start gambling and stick to it.
Have a break from time to time, it is important to let your brain stop and consider.
Avoid drugs / drink as much as possible, they will make you loose some control innevitably.
Seek help if you feel you are no longer in control. Make a phone call to a friend or go out and speak with someone.

Anything else anyone can think of? Like... read this post before gambling? Tongue
Set the limit to the budget. I reckon people should have a budget set for entertainment or money set for expenses you'd use to spend for yourself, take a small amount from that instead of separating it.

It might also be useful to read self-exclusion terms in a casino, maybe try to put it in a easy to access button like bookmarks (or anything if you have something easier and faster).

Lastly, don't be dumb enough to chase for wins/losses. Just take what you can get imo. It's not a job, sure you can feel frustrated if you lose but limit it to that.
Be reminded that you can never beat gambling, it’s always the house that will win in the end. So never chase consistent profits, as it’s always impossible with gambling. If you can set a budget limit for gambling, enough that you can be satisfied with your gambling experience, then much better. And always know that gambling will never give us sustainable income, so we should not let our emotions be in controlled with gambling games and betting. Otherwise, you might be regretting in the end wishing you did not enter gambling in the first place.
508  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Understanding the Basics of Trading in the Cryptocurrency Market on: May 15, 2023, 08:41:35 PM
I agree with all of what you've said.

But it'll be all ruined in just one mistake, and that is when your emotions didn't agree on what you want to do. For me, emotional management is the first thing a trader should master first before proceeding in the world of trading, because it's hard to make a decision when your emotions are taking over always, that would surely mess up every single trade you're going to make.
Well, getting emotions involved is a huge distraction when it comes to trading. If you find it hard to manage your emotions while trading, then you will never be a reliable and successful trader in the end. That is the reason why a lot of traders never sustained trading for long because they fail to control their emotions especially when the market is suddenly experiencing a crash or a correction that makes the trades difficult to succeed.
509  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you Spending Money the Wrong Way in Pursuit of Happiness? on: May 14, 2023, 09:59:21 PM
I'd say if spending money doesn't make you happy maybe you're all spending it wrongly, even though all the advices above seems good, but I think important what makes one happy isn't necessarily coming from textbook advices like this. Just spend whatever you want, one might be happy enough when they can buy some good cars, not necessarily need good experience, everyone differ to each other.
someone else might also be happy by spending their money for buying luxury goods, it's all relative. but what matters most is that, an individual will be really happy when they got their basic needs settled. it's the most important thing, then the other thing comes after that.
I guess one way to be happy is to be able to make your ends meet and at the end of the day, you still have good amount left intended to save and to invest. That life is very satisfying to live without any pressures that you could be in financial struggles one of these days knowing you have already prepared for it in the first place. Buying luxuries in life will only bring happiness temporarily, but helping others and buying their needs for some who have been living life the hard way is what I think what will make me real happy.
510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My friend's investment in Bitcoin on: May 14, 2023, 09:24:20 PM
One of my close friends his name is Naher. He came to visit my house. Once while discussing with him, I mentioned the name of bitcoin. He wanted to know what bitcoin is? I was telling him that bitcoin is a digital cryptocurrency coin launched in 2009 by a man named satoshi. I tell him Bitcoin has been around for 14 years. I give him more idea about Bitcoin. At one point he expressed his interest in investing in bitcoin, I told him that there is a possibility of not only profit but also loss from investment. To invest you have to take risk. My friend invests in bitcoin knowing profit loss. He works for a salary of about $400 per month. He invested about $500 in Bitcoins. I didn't show my friend interest in investing in bitcoin. He himself knowingly invested in bitcoin.
Did I give my friend the right advice?
You are great in here. You have made him aware that bitcoin investment is not just all about profits but losses as well. And since he invested on it, it only means that he trusted bitcoin and that he’s taking a risk by putting a good amount of money. But I just hope that what he invested can never be an issue for him once the capital ends up as a loss. Because I think the amount he invested was quite big, since he was still a beginner, maybe he should consider of just putting a small amount first and when he profits, that’s the time he will increase the amount of his capital.
511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 12, 2023, 07:17:27 PM
Tapales deserves a big fight, and I hope he will get the opportunity to fight the winner of this fight, especially if the champion goes directly into a unification fight. The bantamweight division has been very competitive since Inoue left, and it's exciting to see that we don't know who will win the fights between champions. If Inoue were still in this division, it would be easy to predict the winner since he is a very dominant boxer.
Tapales isn't in the same division like both Moloney and Astrolabio, Tapales is super bantamweight division while both of Moloney and Astrolabio are in bantamweight division. The only one big fight for Tapales is the winner of either Inoue or Fulton, I think there's will be no politic in this fight because Inoue is really like a new challenge and Fulton seems not to be have a strict organizer.

Yes, that's right! Tapales will have his big fight after winning the belt, if either Fulton or Inoue whoever will win from their upcoming fight will proceed and will try to unify the belts then it will be a big money fight for Tapales, he's the one who are in a good position right now he just needed to keep enhancing his skills as knowing the capability of both Fulton and Inoue both are really competitive and strong fighters who can face anyone.

Not sure that sure though if Inoue will walk along that path because knowing Bob Arum, he wanted to take some time first to make Inoue more accustomed to the weight class and make some more money fight before unifying the belts with Tapales. Maybe 1-2 fights before that will happen and for Fulton, he already said that he will leave the division regardless of the outcome, so we can't really hold him to unify the belts. But we never know, he might change his mind again.
512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: May 11, 2023, 08:13:37 PM
It's too early to see him going belt after belt here, if he wins here, he should be defending it against the rank fighter in his organization. He really need to test other boxers too before unifying it unlike in the bantamweight division wherein most of the belts he won because there is a tournament that time and he face most of the champion in the WBSS.

For let's say Naoya Inoue wins over Stephen Fulton and successfully grabs the WBC and WBO Super Bantamweight title, and knowing Bob Arum's play, he might think that his Inoue won't face any risks if he goes straight unifying the belts at the 122 lbs division without having a mandatory title defense. I'm referring to Inoue facing the new counterpart champion, Marlon Tapales. Or on the other hand, if pure business will apply, Inoue might fight a series of title defenses before unifying, to maximize the revenue potential, I guess.

Later on, unification will follow and if wins, no more business needed to be settled at the 122, Inoue might move up to 126 as a Featherweight.

Just a possible view of his timeline as no doubt, Inoue can really even move up to 126 for a year or two smoothly without a problem.

Definitely, Inoue might move up again after dominating the super bantamweight division. As reported, it is said that there's not a lot of money in lower divisions. Therefore, Inoue will likely try to pursue a higher division where he can maximize his profits using his popularity. Many people say that Inoue might be the next Manny Pacquiao, and I agree with that, as long as he does not waste a lot of time staying in one division where he has already dominated.

Same with how I see this, Inoue and his camp are really aiming to keep moving up.

With the hype of his name and with the capabilities that he got, it's possible to be the next Pacman.
He's fighting capabilities and his power combinations something that fans really love following.

He can move from division to another and collect more money. That's something every boxer really
aims to achieve aside from the fame they also aiming to collect more money while they are still young
and capable to continue fighting.

Still too early to even discuss that, I know that he does have chances but imagining that Naoya Inoue reaching the welterweight is quite too much at this point. Super-bantamweight is his 4th division and if he will successfully claim a belt, he will be a 4-Division World Champion and that's a halfway already from Pacquiao's 8-Division but just like what I've said, it's quite premature to discuss that at this point. Let's just enjoy Inoue's journey in this industry and bet on him if we can on his fight.
513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I am only trying to stay safe by gambling less on: May 11, 2023, 07:42:34 PM
There are already many gamblers who want the same thing as you and unfortunately only a few can afford to be able to stay safe while reducing gambling because gambling is an activity that is difficult to stop because of curiosity and domains that are difficult to stop.
What's more, for those who have truly become an addict, it will be more difficult to reduce it, even forgetting about gambling for a moment will never be possible if someone is already an addict.
That is why it is important for a gambler to limit and reduce the gambling sessions that are carried out in order to avoid excessive gambling addiction.

Yes, it's true. The only thing that can help these gambling addicts is to seek help from the professionals because even if they want to change for the better, it will be so hard for them to take those words into action as they don't have that much strength left to battle their desires towards gambling. That is why it's really much better for us and especially for those who are planning to start their fate towards gambling to view gambling as a form of entertainment and a past time, not a way to earn another money because if that's your way, there's a huge chance that the opposite will be given to you and that is losses.
514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: May 11, 2023, 05:13:12 PM
What delays this fight is due to the promotional issues of Donaire. Probellum already ceased to exist due to its involvement with the Kinahans. So Bob Arum is once again correct and some of us thought he was just making excuses to avoid his ward Moloney facing Donaire. Moloney is already fighting next week for the vacant WBO belt while old Donaire's next fight still has no venue and a specific date.

Richard Schaefer should work this out fast because neither Donaire nor Santiago wanted to overtrain. There is no such thing as having a serious training camp that will last for 4 months or more. That is not beneficial and will have bad effects on the fighters. Maybe Schaefer should ask to return the favor of his friend Al Haymon to temporarily handle some of his fighters and stage this fight.

I see. Thanks for sharing this insight mate!

Well, if those things are true which really makes sense now then Donaire might see himself fighting for the vacant belt after Schaefer finishes all the mess that is connected to the Probellum, and that will likely mean that their projected fight in Summer in US soil versus Santiago might not happen anytime sooner. Aside from that, I'm starting to think that it might be the reason why Jason Moloney backed out after receiving this kind of information and proceeded with the WBO belt instead.
515  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 11, 2023, 04:52:33 PM

Same situation with the Miami Heat, the team fought their way to clinch a play-in spot and who could've thought that with Butler's persistence and a little bit of help from the remaining roster, they are upsetting the favorites all the way up until now that they are going against the New York Knicks. Both play-in team in respective conference is still alive and have a 3-1 advantage over their opposing teams which are currently favorites. Now, that is really unexpected.

The Miami Heat is in the 8th seed creating a great performance against the 5th seed the New York Knicks if that isn't weird enough this season has provided us with definitely good entertainment the Warriors in the 6th seed upsetting the 3rd seed Kings, while the 7th seed Lakers upset the 2nd Seed Memphis Grizzlies, but maybe the Lakers on the 7th seed could upset the 6th seed Warriors that is what we are seeing right now,

These two teams that came from play-in tournament do really have a good chance in upsetting their respective opponents (#8 Heat beating the #5 Knicks and #7 Lakers beating the #6 Warriors) and currently they are still leading the series after the loss they've got last night. But just like their chances, the Knicks and Warriors does have a good chance as well to move-on towards the Conference Finals. The upcoming games will be much tougher and tighter as neither team is willing to give-up.
516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: May 10, 2023, 08:25:59 PM
No matter how we try to say it, Lomachenko was just unfortunate because he got injured during the time of his campaign where he almost got all four belts to be the undisputed champion at 135 but it is what it is, Devin Haney was fortunate enough because he was availabe by that time and took advantage of the situation where Kambosos upsets Teofimo Lopez who defeated Lomachenko before hand. This time, Loma will have another chance again to campaign at the title he wanted but it won't be easy as Haney is not that easy to defeat.
517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 10, 2023, 06:22:57 AM
If they don't want to fight, they should just vacate it because there's a lot more boxers in every single division who are willing to touch and hold those belts and willing to fight for it. These champions surely know the feeling what it is like when they were the ones who are waiting for their turn but unfortunately, when it's their turn already, they've become addicted to it and they aren't willing to let go even if they aren't making any new fights.
Easy to say though but it's actually not that easy to do because there are a lot of factors that they should consider first before taking a step and aside from the current boxing champions, their promoters, network affiliations and even the organizers are not willing to let go of them because they knew that they could amass a lot of money from making their fights even if it is just a single fight per year. Having a new champion is risky for their business because it's not everyday you can make a champion who can attract a lot of people's attention.
518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 10, 2023, 05:46:32 AM

Damn, Loonie Walker IV! Almost outscored the whole Warriors team alive in the 4th Quarter of the Game 4 series.
(4th Quarter: Walker = 15 points | Warriors = 17 points)

Take note, Walker is not even utilized much by the Lakers this entire playoff series and just always warming the bench most of the time, and yet still found his rhythm and shooting stroke here in Game 4 even though he was just started his momentum at the final phase of the game. All those 15 points he made that game were all in 4th quarter. He's almost even forgotten as part of the Lakers roster lol and I'm sure because of his recent performance, Coach Ham might consider him giving consistent playing time or maybe, a starter.

The number 14 seed in the West who rallied with tough challenges late in the season just to get a chance to play for the play-in tournament and able to finish at 7th Seed is now close to Western Conference Finals. Who wouldn't taught that the Lakers can make it this far as before, almost the entire NBA community, and even Lakers fan already accepts that the Lakers are done this season and won't make it to the playoffs.

519  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin trading be my sole source of income? on: May 10, 2023, 04:01:16 AM

Is it safe for a Bitcoin trader to quit their jobs and focus solely on Bitcoin trading if they can devote their time and attention to maximize the benefits in the Bitcoin world?

That should rely on your decision after comparing both, but however in my case, I will never quit my full-time job and focus solely on Bitcoin trading due to the risk in cryptocurrency, especially if  I am earning better wages/salaries  from my place of employment. I don't crypto trader but i am investor, but from what I've heard, it's not a good idea to rely solely on trading, even if you are making money from it,this is because there is no guarantee that you will continue making the money from trading continue. The best course is to just pursue trading as a side hustle. In fact there many people that quit their job for trading but they are now regretting it.
This is really true. Trading is not forever, though you can say you’re profitable at the moment but it won’t guarantee that you’ll be making the same profits within the next months or years. So leaving your current job for the sake of trading, for me that would be a very risky decision. Especially if you are a breadwinner in the family, you cannot rely a sustainable income from trading alone, you have to maintain a stable job that give you fixed amount of income, and just do trading as one of your side hustles so that if ever trading becomes unprofitable, your family will not starve to death.
