521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: October 21, 2023, 03:23:39 AM

In this sport, we all know that it's not impossible for the heavy favorite to lose the fight, just a single solid lucky punch that converts
Tapales road to win will take his name on top!

Upsets, that's what we call them, and they can happen in any combat sport, not just in boxing. Pacquiao wasn't always the favorite before he became a legend; he had to challenge and defeat formidable opponents to become the only eight-division world champion. So, it's entirely possible for Tapales, especially since he's putting in the hard work, trying to find Inoue's weaknesses and exploit them.

However, please take note that fans often base their expectations on past results, and Inoue, who is currently a top pound-for-pound boxer, is naturally expected to win. But remember, it's just an expectation.
522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thurman Vs Stanionis WBA world welterweight December 9 on: October 21, 2023, 02:09:12 AM
It's great to hear that Thurman is making a comeback to the ring after over a year of being inactive. His last fight was back in May 2022 against Mario Barrios, which he won via unanimous decision. His opponent is still quite young, at 29 years old, and doesn't have much experience. So, I'd automatically put my bet on Thurman to win this fight, especially since he has only one loss, and many believe he could have won that fight against Pacman if he had been more aggressive in the first half of the round.

I think Thurman really needed this break, and while the fight against Crawford didn't happen, it's good to see him back in action. I'm hoping he wins this fight impressively, and I'm sure there's a big fight waiting for him in the near future.
523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Much do you Value your Privacy in Gambling? on: October 20, 2023, 09:59:15 PM

So, for some days now, I've had this thought of "how much some people really value their privacy in gambling", like as a gambler, you signed up on a new casino and immediately, you are allowed to deposit and play without going through a KYC verification process like we do on some casinos immediately after registration.
You start playing and luckily, you won a significant amount of money.

I know the word "significant" can mean different values for different gamblers, so let's use figures i personally think are significant and capable of changing lives.

So, let's assume you luckily won anything as from $70,000 and above with a total bet below $100, and to withdraw this money, or even part of it, the casino requires you to pass all levels of verification in their system, which means that you will have to provide them all your personally information down to the most private of them all, and this casino is relatively new and you are not sure about their reputation.

Will you go ahead and provide them all they require from you for account verification, so they can process your withdrawal request, or will you willingly forfeit such amount of money back to the casino on the account that your private information is more expensive than that amount of money you have own from them?

I love to read your thoughts on this.
You will only worry your privacy if you chose to gamble in unreputable gambling sites. But if you are gambling in a well reputable casino, you will never think that your personal data is in danger. Your concern is no longer about KYC verification, but on how to make a big win and immediately withdraw after that.  And as long as you follow all their withdrawal requirements, then there will never be problems with that.

However, it does not mean that if we provide them the KYC they need, we do not value our privacy anymore. Of course, privacy is always there that's why we care to entrust our personal details only to our trusted casinos and not on the shady and gray casinos that are just there ready to scam us.
524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: October 20, 2023, 09:25:39 PM
Share your tips and thoughts on staying responsible in this digital realm.
If you compare it with the tips given by other people here, it's almost identical. My tip, set money as playing capital and determine the time that will be spent playing. When the set time has arrived, stop for the day and resume tomorrow.
If the money used as playing capital decreases, assume you have lost. If the money increases from the initial capital, still stop. That means you win and continue again tomorrow.
Only a discipline gambler can stick to that. You know it's really easy to say that but it's definitely hard to follow for most of the gamblers. Because gamblers in reality do not just stop betting even if their set time and money have lost already. Instead, they continue to bet even more not only to recover the money that they have lost, but sometimes to get satisfied with their gambling addiction. And this is where they continue to incur losses because they can't stop from satisfying their urge in gambling.

However, I believe that what you advise is really effective. No one will certainly lose a lot if gamblers will follow what you said. And for my own advise, if you decide to gamble, do it for fun and not to earn for living. Because the moment you see gambling as an earning opportunity, you lost the real purpose why you are gambling in the first place.
525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 20, 2023, 07:03:01 AM

Here is the war of words.
Quote
Haney responded: "Only a dumbass would believe some s*** like that.

"This info is coming from Rolly Romero, that should tell you enough."

Prograis insisted: "I didn’t talk to Rolly about nothing. Matter of fact f*** you and him.

"More people know about your little secret than you think #Fraud 29-1 (15 KOs)."
https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/1606533/devin-haney-denies-stunning-claim-regis-prograis-secret-loss/

"More people know about his secret." Yet we haven't seen facts about it. Devin Haney fought mostly in recorded fights so there must be a copy of that lost somewhere and yet nothing is floating. Prograis must've got a gossip only and it mostly ends up a gossip too.

Where does that '1 L' come from? Is it from the fight against Loma, which was very controversial as the crowd believes Loma was robbed that night? Of course, Prograis would not drop a name, as he is well aware that making serious accusations could lead to a lawsuit.
526  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 20, 2023, 06:32:38 AM
In terms of JBL, I also remember that PBA did allow Kiefer before, so maybe that will be the same case here. They might let it go and let JBL to perform for the fans who really love him more after taking home the gold.

The PBA can't afford not to have JBL, as he is the one who makes the Gin Kings better. Without him, the team would just be an ordinary one, even with Coach Tim Cone's brilliance in coaching. So, I'm not worried if he would be banned, as I'm positive he'll come back to play. The issue was just in the international game. I'm not sure if whatever sanction they impose on JBL would affect a privately owned league. I think it doesn't make sense if they connect that, as it's already beyond their jurisdiction to implement such sanctions.

Yes there's no doubt mate Justin brownlee is one of the best important in all time and a good teammates he can do his very best in order to win the match he can carry his team into finals and bring the the trophy. And when brownlee is being suspended for sure there's a big impact for the BGSM as we all know that brownlee is thier key player in order to win unless they can find an import that like brownlee or else much better if taller and fast so that BGSM can still compete other teams.

We can't predict the quality of the import they'll acquire, but we've already witnessed the best import in action. There were even discussions about creating a statue for Brownlee after we secured a gold in the Asian Games, recognizing his significant contribution. However, China ruined the reputation of Brownlee with their tests. As for the new import, no name has been announced yet, so we'll have to wait and see. This is also the moment when I'd say that betting on Ginebra is no longer a sure thing. Without Brownlee, there's no guaranteed win.
527  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? Selling all or not on: October 19, 2023, 09:48:20 PM
Have seen a lot of threads talking about the bull market, and everyone making comments.
I don't think selling all bitcoin in the bull market is a good idea. Why? Knowing the fact that the next bull price will still come as bitcoin continues to grow, so I don't think selling all my bitcoin in the bull market is the best.
Everyone is holdle bitcoin in the bear market and planning to sell in the bull market, now, when finally, the bull market  comes should I sell all my bitcoins and prepare to accumulate from afresh in the next bear market again? or should I keep some percentage to continue the accumulation?
You don't need to sell everything especially that bitcoin's value will continue to appreciate in the following years. Of course, you should take part in selling your coins when bullish market comes, but only sell a portion of your bitcoin portfolio so can still make more profits when the next bull run comes. That is if you really want to balance your bitcoin portfolio and benefit on it later on.

However, there's always an exception. If you think that this could be the best way to achieve maximum profits because you are up to something big project,  then go for it. Never hesitate to sell all your bitcoin because you are the only one responsible of your own investment, and you are the only one to benefit on it. But never forget to buy back again when the bearish market starts. You can start all over again and be successful later on, as long as you hold your bitcoin for long term without setting definite time when to sell. And as long as patience and market understanding is there, then that will create higher probability to be successful on your investment.
528  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Know When to Stop. Lesson for Everyone, Particularly Investors on: October 19, 2023, 07:59:50 PM
Great advises.

It all sums up that when you're distracted and not focused, you better stop or something bad will happen to your trades. That's right, don't push it too hard when you're distracted and you can't focus with your analysis because it is your money that's being put in the line.

No matter what people say and disturbs you a lot, don't continue as trading is always free time and don't require us to trade at certain times. Maybe for some times, there are those moments like crucial times you're seeing some good entry and selling points.

But when disturbance comes to you, you're already losing that thought of what you must do. It's always okay to take a rest, a break and to stop when it is a must.
Remember that you are trading in the first place to make your life comfortable when you are already in profits, not to live miserably. So if you find yourself struggling already to trade for positive outcome, then never hesitate to take a break and stop trading temporarily. Trading does not require the most of our time, but it should be done on our extra time, except if you are a day trader that needs full focus and attention all throughout that day.

I believe that every trader only want the best of it, but if you find yourself totally disturbed because you want to take every part in buying and selling your coins, well that may be not healthy for you anymore. Know when to trade and when to stop. We only live once so do not push yourself into trading when you see it's not healthy for you anymore.
529  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: some of the best ways to secure yourself from scammers on: October 18, 2023, 08:44:12 PM
Vigilance, awareness, and sound security procedures are all necessary for scammer protection.
Here are some of the finest defences against con artists
Learn for Yourself Your strongest line of defence is knowledge. Keep up with typical fraud schemes and techniques. The more information you have, the easier it will be to spot and prevent such frauds.
Check identities Never give personal or financial information to anybody without first confirming their identity. Request formal credentials and check with the organisation by contacting them through their website or other contact details.
In other words, be suspicious most of the time and just think that everyone around you is just waiting for the perfect timing to scam you. If you are less cautious, you will really be attack by them, leaving yourself falling in their own trap and giving them the chances to take advantage on your funds. And while knowledge is very much important, the reason why doing initial research on everything you plan to do is a must. It's actually doing yourself a favor to have an edge over those scammers, because if not the vice versa will happen, you will be the one that will be taken advantage by them.

Know that scammers are already part on this high innovative world. And just as we thought that we want to gain the best of everything out from all our endeavors, scammers themselves have also their aim to gain the best advantage out from everything and the only way they can do that is to think and act smarter than us so they can always take the lead before us.
530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 18, 2023, 02:23:48 AM
In terms of JBL, not sure if PBA will punish him but for me personally, they should allow him to keep playing to show support with the man who brings us gold, not to dramatic but we should not follow that sanction from that protest.

It's just simply saying that we believe and we support whatever they think, better to do the opposite.. Hahaha

I think the PBA is probably just following the orders from the Asian Games or whichever committee is handling the imposition of sanctions. If the sanction involves him not being able to play professional sports for a certain period, the PBA's hands might be tied in this matter. They understand that, especially the Ginebra Kings, which is why they're already in the process of searching for his replacement.
531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Knowledge vs hodlings on: October 18, 2023, 01:37:04 AM
To invest one must take risk, without taking risk investment is never possible but we have to make sure that we are taking risk in right place or taking risk in wrong place. Taking risks in altcoins to have bitcoins is definitely foolish.

As we have to invest through money, it is our responsibility to ensure maximum security of money. Bitcoin is safe and Bitcoin will definitely guarantee you money but altcoins will never guarantee you money. A Bitcoin investor has high hopes that his investment will never fail and he will never be promoted by investing in Bitcoin. Such belief of an investor towards Bitcoin is enough to invest in Bitcoin. Since we have knowledge, we have to put that knowledge to good use. Instead of depending on others, I have to find out by myself where my money will be safe as well as where my money will grow if I invest. When a person tries to use his knowledge to know these things, he can find the right investment medium and that must be Bitcoin.

Why do we even have to discuss altcoins here? In general, they are a risky investment in my opinion. The risk is high because only a few of them are genuinely profitable as investments. Have you ever heard of developers exiting a project and taking the money? That happens in altcoins but never in Bitcoin because Bitcoin's developers are anonymous and not moving their funds. I'm talking about Satoshi. These altcoins are just copies, riding on the popularity of Bitcoin. If you've witnessed and experienced a bull run, it's Bitcoin that's driving that bull market. Altcoins just benefit from it. So, if you want to be on the safer side, always choose Bitcoin over any other project.
Thank you for being a voice of reason. So many people are so reluctantly discussing about Bitcoin forgetting this is where Bitcoin should be discussed and any conversations should be directed to Bitcoin. As far as Bitcoin is concerned, it is the only legitimate cryptocurrency all other alternative currency are scams, Inexpensive, imitations, appealing to the praises of developers. Even in their widespread in various technologies and adaptation to AI that doesn't make them useful, worthy, or worth being taken seriously like Bitcoin. Bitcoin has maintained its technology consistently without any failure over the years since its origin. Don't get me wrong. I have am not against the evolution of Altcoins am here to bring us back to the topic at hand and share a fresh perspective.

Many things were said about Bitcoin years ago, even though I didn't have much knowledge about it, I didn't listen. I bought a small amount, but I sold it at a low point due to my lack of knowledge. Now, I continue to invest in Bitcoin by Dacing on a weekly basis, and I hold all for long because I have gained a better understanding of how it works. Sometimes you just have to take a chance.

Good for you! You're on the right path by investing in Bitcoin. It has a track record of being the powerhouse in the market. We refer to this market as the cryptocurrency space, and that includes altcoins too.

But remember, without Bitcoin, there wouldn't even be something called altcoins. They're essentially 'alternative coins' for a reason. In reality, there might not even be a need for these alternatives since Bitcoin is doing just fine with its intended purpose. So, yeah, tread carefully with altcoins; they can eat into your cash.
532  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gift to wife. on: October 17, 2023, 08:49:14 PM
I promised in a post on this forum a few months ago. I had a plan to give half of my bitcoin investment to my wife after marriage. I got married a few days ago. First I gave my wife all the ideas about Bitcoin. I was surprised to hear my wife, as soon as I told my wife about Bitcoin, she said that she had heard the name of Bitcoin before. I thought it would be very difficult to convince girls. But my wife was able to understand about Bitcoin very easily. I gave him half of the investment as per my word. He is very happy to get Bitcoin. My wife plans to hold bitcoin for a long time. Now you can say it is better to give girls gold jewelery than bitcoins. I have given gold ornaments to my wife as per her wish. Have any of you managed to teach your wife Bitcoin? Have any of you gifted bitcoin to a wife like me?
For me, gifting my wife with bitcoin is not necessary at all, because what's also mine is also hers, and what's hers is also mine. The moment we got married, everything becomes a conjugal property for both of us. And because of that, my wife is definitely aware with all my bitcoin investments, and I'm also starting to educate her about bitcoin and all its related stuffs so that when unseen incidents happen, my wife will be there to continue managing our investments without hassling other people to help her.

However, its also your own decision to gift your wife with bitcoin, and I can say that it's more than valuable than gold or any other investments. That way, she can also be motivated to learn on how she'll manage her bitcoins so that what you have gifted will not end up in a loss. And while you're still here, then it's also your responsibility to educate her and guide her as well so that whatever you have learned about bitcoin, she can also gained it from you.
533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 17, 2023, 08:38:03 AM
Tyler Herro seems to have improved a lot from what I'm seeing in the preseason so maybe he could be that consistent back up for Jimmy. I can see shades of Wade in him to be honest.

Herro is already quite good; he had a strong output last season. He was just unfortunate to have been injured, but despite that, the Heat still managed to reach the Finals. I believe it's the coach who really helped him. Without the coach's trust, he wouldn't have been given a starting lineup role, and he didn't disappoint Coach Spoelstra in that regard, as he consistently produced.

In the preseason, it's like a warm-up for him for the upcoming regular season, and as we have seen, he hasn't changed. He is still the same player who makes a significant contribution to the team.
....

This may not be of interest besides the name but Scottie Pippen Jr. has been waived by the Lakers. He wasn't able to make most of the opportunity given to him and I think the preseason game against the Bucks had a big role in the management's decision since he played quite poorly.

Personally, I don't know him, but based on the name itself, I presume that he is the son of the Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen, who won multiple championships with the Chicago Bulls during the era of Michael Jordan. Well, the NBA is not about politics; it's about talent. Maybe he's given a little special treatment because he carries his father's name, but he won't last if he doesn't produce.

Honestly, I'm also quite worried not only about this but also about when LeBron's son enters the NBA. Will he meet the expectations of the fans? His father is one of the best, so he shouldn't disappoint.

535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tszyu vs. Mendoza Confirmed for WBO Title Showdown on October 15th on: October 15, 2023, 01:07:16 PM
Mendoza has become like a punching bag in this fight. Both fighters aren't particularly quick, even Tszyu, who appears slow and doesn't throw many jabs, but his timing is excellent, which is why Mendoza got badly hurt. This kind of fight is interesting to watch, and I'm sure it entertained the fans, especially since their home fighter won the match. With Tszyu's success, I think he needs a better opponent next time; he's due for that, I guess.

Based on his interview after the fight he is due to fight Jermell Charlo, Jermell will try to regain his title although there is still o official announcement but it is likely to be announced, this is going to be a very good match Tszyu will have to prove by beating Jermell that he deserves his title that was given after Jermell fought Canelo.

And it seems they are already trash-talking each other so it's going to be a fight worth watching, they are almost even in terms of power and skill only that Jermell has a better experience but they have a common denominator and that is both fighters beat Tony Harrison.

It's shaping up to be an interesting match. After Jermell got exposed in his fight against Canelo and lost, I'm sure Tszyu's confidence is soaring. Tszyu's performances haven't exactly been stellar either, but when facing off against Jermell, there's a chance he could win the fight. I'm quite curious about the potential betting odds. Will Jermell be the favorite, or will Tszyu take that title?

And if this fight happens, would it be a unification match or an undisputed one?
536  Economy / Economics / Re: Cracking the Code of Saving Money... on: October 15, 2023, 12:37:14 PM
It all begins with cutting down your expenses, like making sure your needs come before your wants. That's the only way you'll have some extra cash to save. However, don't rely solely on saving, because it won't be enough to secure your retirement, especially as inflation can erode the value of your savings. My suggestion is to learn how to make your money grow. So, if you're currently working, consider finding ways to earn extra income, especially through business ventures. Yes, business is the key to financial freedom in the future, allowing your money to work for you.

I know it's not an easy process; we're only human, and temptation is always around the corner. It takes a lot of discipline and sacrifice to save, but as you learn that, you're also preparing yourself to become more mature and capable of taking calculated risks when starting a business.

Just ponder on this: who are the richest people in the world? Aren't they involved in business or entrepreneurs themselves? If your answer is 'yes,' then you should follow in their footsteps. It's not about copying their exact business but pursuing what you're passionate about, where you can channel your energy and enthusiasm.
537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: October 15, 2023, 06:11:22 AM
Alright, guys, I've added a poll – let's see how many of us are sneaking in some gambling during our working hours. It's pretty cool to see how many of you can relate to this thread I cooked up. It just popped into my head because I think it's a seriously interesting topic. You know, that work-life balance thing, and how sometimes we bring a slice of our personal lives into the job.

I've noticed some replies swinging in favor of the companies, saying it's basically time theft, and sure, they've got a point. But let's face it, we all steal a bit of time here and there, don't we?

Keep the posts coming, I'm pretty sure there are still some people out there who haven't stumbled upon this thread yet. Let's keep the conversation going!
538  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it easy to trust someone? on: October 15, 2023, 05:52:49 AM
Trust is a tricky thing, but we really do need it in our lives. There's that saying, 'no man is an island,' and it's spot on. We trust our family, right? But the level of trust can vary, depending on what we're trusting them with. Like, when it comes to your money, your ATM balance, that's your personal stash, and you'd better guard that with your life. But there might be times when you need someone else to make a withdrawal for you, and that's when you're really putting your trust in them since they can't do it without your PIN.

Now, when we're talking about seeds, it's a bit like the principle with an ATM PIN. Those seeds are like the keys to your funds, and without them, nothing's moving.
539  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If only property I have is bitcoin on: October 14, 2023, 03:36:14 PM
You know, it's a good idea to have a plan for passing on that seed phrase to someone you trust in case anything unexpected happens. Life is short, my friend, and you never know what might come your way. Sharing the wealth, so to speak, with those you care about while you're still here is a nice thought. As long as they're trustworthy and know how to handle crypto stuff, there shouldn't be any issues with that.
We all live and die for once, so we need to settle things first prior to leaving them when we’re gone. That’s when we should have a plan on passing our asset or property to the one who’s trustworthy enough so he can manage the inheritance well same as what we did. Like for instance, passing our seed phrase to our trusted family member is the best decision. If there are people that should benefit our hard-earned investment, most likely it’s our family. But we should make them aware the basics first in bitcoin investment so that if unexpected happens, at least they will also have the confidence to run that investment.
540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If we lose in gambling, what do we need to do? on: October 14, 2023, 02:52:36 PM
If I lose in gambling all I have to do is just to move on, I don’t allow that to affect my gambling habit I mean I don’t use because I lose 300$ today in gambling I will have to use the little 50$ which I have and could have use for other things to gamble again to try luck if I can be able to win my money back, that will be my biggest mistake.

The best thing to do if I lose in gambling is to see it as a lost money and move one with life, until when ever their is another money which can also be risk the same way in gambling and that one should be consider as trying out my luck then next time and not trying to gain back what I have lose before, by doing so I can focus my mind in the game and make the right selection which might at least favor me.
Probably you’re just an occasional gambler that’s why you can easily say to move forward after a loss. But for regular gamblers, once we lose, we try to make another bet hoping that this time will be a winning bet. However, I really believe that the best decision is just to accept the loss and just forget about it. But if you are already losing a lot, it’s either you chase your losses and recover what you have lost, or you just leave gambling immediately so you can stop yourself from spending more and losing more money.
