521  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Lets Brain storm on how to limit losses... on: May 09, 2023, 09:20:10 PM
I always thought that people who are actually losing a lot from trading is because they come into the market unprepared and just jump into trading because of their greed to get instant profits. Though they actually know that trading is risky, but maybe some just need to experience the risk of losing first before they can actually say that yes, trading is risky and certainly never that easy to make profits. And even those who decide to do revenge trading, for me it only shows that they are just being greedy that they keep on chasing for profits even when the market does not favor their trading decisions.
522  Economy / Economics / Re: Looking for online investment method for 50$ daily on: May 09, 2023, 08:41:45 PM
Before asking for investment platform that will give you $50 daily you must first mention the amount you want to invest at first. Because you can't invest $20 and expect to receive $50 daily and besides I don't think there's any place to give you such amount all less you invested about $10k maybe with the little changes in market you may decides to do DCA or fully involved yourself with scalping. Please do not desperately go ahead investing in a platform that would result to scam at last because I know too well that newbies are too impatient.
Any investment won’t never guarantee fixed profits, it’s either you win some or lose all your capital. But expecting a profit daily regardless of the amount, I don’t think it’s possible through investing. However, if you do DCA at a low price and continue to hold them for years, might this strategy will give you one time huge profits, but it won’t never happen in a daily basis.
523  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin in Student Life on: May 09, 2023, 07:59:32 PM
A friend suggested Bitcoin to me about 1 year ago. I have been trying to learn the history of Bitcoin ever since. How to earn from Bitcoin, I learned that investing will make profit or loss. Success can never be achieved without risk. Then I became interested in investing in Bitcoin. My family is a very poor family. I am studying now and earning BDT 7000 per month from tuition, BDT 3000 I spend on running my household. BDT 3000 is my monthly expenses and I save BDT 1000, I save around BDT 10000 in a year and invest in Bitcoin. I will hold the investment for a long time. According to many researchers, we will soon see a bull market. Bitcoin will be over $100K in 2025

But the main thing is that bitcoin is still illegal in our country, I invested bitcoin very carefully.

Lately I think it is better to invest in bitcoins than depositing money in the bank. Day by day people have lost trust in banks. It is heard that many banks are going bankrupt and closing down.
I’m glad you already gained significant knowledge about bitcoin and seems you are doing the right thing just by investing in bitcoin. However, know that knowledge is not enough, but build more experiences too so you will develop your investing skills too. And when investing, always put a small amount at first, an amount that you can manage to lose especially if you are still a beginner that is prone to fear and panic every time the market is not in its best shape and prices are declining. Never expect short term profits from bitcoin as it can only be profitable if you hold it for years as a long term investment.
524  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The fear of losing bitcoin... on: May 08, 2023, 09:54:37 PM
I have seen and witness people involving in bitcoin, most people can not stay a moment without panicking. A colleague of mine who have Minuit bitcoin has buggy me with chats and calls to update if bitcoin will survive this years, why can't people know what you're engaging into first before diving into it and start acting like a child. Different set of people are into this bitcoin, even people don't have investment are making noise of bitcoin price collapsing.

But come to think of it many have bitcoin in B figures but you can't hear them making noise but people with $30 will not allow you to rest especially if you're responsible for introducing them. Bitcoin will rise when is due to rise, remove fear and plenty rumors.
It is normal for newbies to worry about the price of bitcoin. Most of them are fed by social media so they are filled with false news. This information leads to fear, uncertainty, and doubt, so you have to be prepared to tolerate their disturbance. The $30 that you feel is nothing might be someone's savings for many months,  so they don't want to lose their investment which is why they are also scared.

It is very important to educate people about the Bitcoin sector before you introduce them to the sector. Don't introduce the sector to them as a  because it is not. And they should be aware of the risk involved in bitcoin. After you are done with the teaching, don't force or persuade them to buy the coin, allow them to take the decision. Let them bear the responsibility for their investment.
People who came to invest and worry to lose, these are those who only invest for greed and just depend on other people for their own decisions. They don’t have the knowledge required before investing in bitcoin that’s why they easily panic and develop fears when bitcoin price is seen suddenly declining. Because if they actually know about bitcoin, they will never worry that much knowing bitcoin price will always surge every after drop.
525  Economy / Economics / Re: How to increase profit in business on: May 08, 2023, 08:56:42 PM
Prosperity in a business depends on an entrepreneur. If he has long planned to expand his business then he will surely get success. It is important to remember that the business you are serving may be done by others as well ‍. You have to find where your difference from them? Why will consumers come to you? What are your facilities that others cannot offer? etc. To provide more benefits which can be a strategy to grow your business. But if one can maintain customer relationship along with all these facilities then surely those customers will not go anywhere else. As a result, your business will expand further and you can increase your profit.
It’s very crucial that we should give highly consideration to the satisfaction of the customers, otherwise they will look for it in other shops or stores. If we can put them as our priority, then they will appreciate and will continue to support our business in return. Furthermore, having discounts and promos will be a huge help too. Customers are easily tempted to buy more when prices are discounted or items are greatly bundled by some other usable products. That way, they will buy more, that will bring more profits to our business.
526  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is bitcoin a good option for a beginner in Cryptocurrency? on: May 08, 2023, 08:40:41 PM
Am a newbie I need more detailed clarification and explanation from senior colleagues here on the best Cryptocurrency to invest on whenever i have the funds and how to go about it.
If you want a clearer explanation as why people here mostly tell you to buy bitcoin and that is because while Bitcoin is highly volatile, let's say that altcoins are way more than Bitcoin's being volatile.

There's so much happening in the alts market and a beginner might be overwhelmed with that and while having Bitcoin, it's more of a relaxed way of investing on this market and from there, a newbie can learn a lot by just observing with his very first Bitcoin investment.
They’re both risky actually, but bitcoin is way more profitable and more secured investment compared to altcoins. That’s the reason why even long time crypto investors still chose bitcoin over a lot of altcoins. And for beginner investor like you, if you want to succeed with bitcoin, don’t invest for greed and expect short term profits, but focus more on long term hodling as that will promise huge amount of returns in the future.
527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: May 05, 2023, 09:07:54 PM
But I do agree that Crawford under Top Rank is doing good, money wise. Arum did a good job for him while he was under the banner and even unifies the 140 lbs division pushing his legacy even more. I guess the age really has a effect on him, I mean he will just everyone else, including his rivals, Eddie Hearn and others, and even his own boxers, like Crawford. As for Teo, he did say to the effect that Arum prefers black boxers, to the point that it sounded racist.

With Bob Arum on the equation, that makes the unification fight between Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford much more difficult because Al Haymon and Arum is not really in good terms and none of them is willing to take a much lesser split of the purse. I think we already know that, same as how Arum feels towards Eddie Hearn that's why a fight cannot be made if Hearn will organize it.

Same reason why Crawford made a gamble and left Bob Arum's roof because in that way, his chance to finally make the undisputed fight got more chances because Bob Arum is not included in the said equation anymore. But even after that, it's still too much too ask because up until now, there are no positive signs.
528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 05, 2023, 07:17:45 PM
I laid down a bet on the Golden State Warriors last night, and I figured they’d win, but I was not expecting as 20 point blow out.  I just don’t understand why Anthony Davis wasn’t more involved on the offense end of the court. He was shooting at a 50% clip, so it’s not like he was having a super off night..but 11 points is just extremely inexcusable.

Lakers favored for Saturdays game..not sure which way to lean.

I won't argue with you about that and I know it's odd but I think I know what's the reason behind why he is having some troubles after having an explosive night. If guys remember, the team's doctor did already prohibiting Anthony Davis from playing back to back games or successive games with minimal rest since regular games but that didn't happen, right? I think this is Davis's way to be in the team to at least help them from the defensive end instead of resting in-between games and leaving them with less chances to win.

Here's his stats for the past 10 games: https://www.espn.ph/nba/player/_/id/6583/anthony-davis

As you can see, ever since the playoff started, Anthony Davis didn't rest and was always available for the team but there's a catch, he won't be that much effective in even games compared to the odd games.
529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: May 05, 2023, 05:30:50 PM

The co-main event has been announced. I’m not surprised that Amana Serrano will be fighting on it, I really think this will be a major mismatch.

Serrano beat Hardy really easily 4 years ago so she’s most likely going to be a big favourite here.

We never know, Heather Hardy might have something to surprise the current undisputed champion Grin

But anyway, I guess you're right because Heather didn't have that much improvement after her first bout against Amanda and I don't really think as well that this time she can make any difference at all. Four years is quite a long time and I honestly, didn't see this coming that they will still make a rematch after Amanda defeated Heather unanimously.
530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 05, 2023, 04:38:35 PM
The Celtics might beat Philly on the road after that stellar game 2 performance, but I think we should forget what happened in game 2 so we won't be too aggressive in putting our money on the Celtics. I think the home team here is the underdog since most bettors will likely choose the better team between the two. However, Philly is still undefeated at home, and they need to bounce back after an embarrassing loss. I like Philly in this angle.

Therefore, my bet is on Philly moneyline.

I'm tailing you on this one. In my opinion, there seems to be a problem with the line. After the strong performance of the Celtics in game 2, I think Philly should be at least +3.5. However, looking at the current line, it opened at +1 and is currently at +2. I believe this is another trap that we should avoid, and we should be on the right side, which is Philly.

Or maybe the bookies are still not that sure whether Embiid has already recovered or not because we all know that he might put some pressures on his wound for the meantime just to bounce back after having a blow out lost last time, plus they will have the homecourt advantage now and the people will wanting to see the their MVP ,Embiid, dominating the game.

Current odds for the Sixers is +2.5 @ 1.91 , looking forward to see some movements before putting up my bet.

Hopefully, it won't be the case for Ryan as he is still young and can make a comeback. As you have said, someone close to him should give this young kid and be successful in the future.
Hard times create strong men.

Garcia will realized if he was make a wrong decision for sacking Joe Goossen because it's not new when a young person is making mistake due to his childish or selfish behavior.

Hopefully that is really the case for Ryan Garcia that his loss will make him stronger and wiser, but part of me is telling that Ryan Garcia might not take the situation that he have now positively because Goosen and Golden Boy left him unsupported in the middle of a situation where they needed them the most. Certainly, that will have a scar on Ryan Garcia and who knows what will happen next.

Quote
There's a rumor if the new Garcia's trainer is Derrick James, James is a good trainer because he's train Errol Spence, Anthony Joshua and Jermell Charlo until now. If it's come true, Garcia can't playing anymore because James has a good reputation in boxing career.

Even if that were true, I doubt that Ryan Garcia will stay longer with this Derrick James because he was already in the same situation before where he was trained by Eddy Reynoso. But he left Reynoso because Ryan Garcia didn't feel accommodated because Reynoso prioritizes Canelo Alvarez more, so that might happen again this time because I don't think that this Derrick James will make him a priority especially if Spence, Anthony Joshua, or Charlo got their own fights to prepare.
532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I am only trying to stay safe by gambling less on: May 04, 2023, 08:44:34 PM
^

In my opinion, before we continue this conversation, we need to clearly understand that investing is a way to make money (sometimes very risky) and gambling is entertainment. I would advise against making the wrong associations in your head, as some do, and not trying to get rich in a casino, as it depends on luck, not desire, amount of money or free time.
Actually, I have said about this issue on several pages of this thread, but everyone has different thoughts and I think I agree with your statement that gambling is a place of entertainment to seek pleasure, which is very different from investment.
Even though this investment itself is not a place to look for luck, not like gambling, but the rest is like saving gold.

Right, there's exactly no point why we should treat gambling like an investment because even if their odds is the same where profits is not guaranteed, it is still different in various ways. I know there are some people who are called professional gamblers but even these kinds of people also got their own share of big losses especially before they got that what they have.

We should know that investment and gambling is two different things and we couldn't really associate these two because it will just result into a big mess.
533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jason Moloney vs Vincent Astrolabio WBO 118lbs Title (May 13) on: May 04, 2023, 08:20:40 PM
I voted Astrolabio to win this match because of both fighter's previous fights, I made it a reference because a boxer's last and previous fights will have an impact on his coming fight, so Astrolabio is coming on big wins against a Russian, and a former champion Rigondeaux, while Moloney is coming on a devastated knock out loss against Inoue, so one is coming from a winning momentum while the other is from recovery so I prefer the one coming from good wins than coming from a knockout, I hope my prediction will come true.
Anyway, both fighters deserve to be a champion because they both have good records.

But Rigo is way out of league compared to Naoya Inoue, so that is somehow incomparable because their recent fights aren't really the same. But I would like to add that Moloney's defeat against the Japanese monster will be a good thing in Astrolabio's camp as they will have a better understanding how to upset the favorite compared to the opposite camp where they have to dig old archives because Astrolabio's defeat was way back 2018 when the Filipino boxer was still in super-flyweight and I reckon that it's not really usable because Astrolabio has improved since that loss.
534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 04, 2023, 07:39:39 PM
76ers fans might not be happy with what Embiid showed today, they must be thinking they are way better when he was not available having a close fight in game 1 and better, winning it using fast-paced type of plays. In game 3, Embiid should prove why he is the MVP.

Embiid probably hasn't fully recovered from his injury, and I think his knee pain was one of the reasons why he didn't perform as MVP in Game 2. By the way, even if Embiid hadn't played, the 76ers probably still would have lost to the Celtics since Harden also had a poor performance in that game. In any case, the next game will be at the 76ers home arena, and it seems to me that they can take advantage of that.

Then he shouldn't be playing at game 2 if he still has some pain in his knee otherwise it will be dangerous for him if he aggravate it. So I doubt that it's bothering him, it's that Joel and Harden had a bad game against the Boston and we should give credit to the Celtics for making the adjustment in game 2. And with that, the series shifts to 76ers home court, now we will see how the team are going to play and respond to the big lost they suffer in game 2. And we should be expecting Joel to put a great performance to prove why he is the MVP as you have said. And the good thing is that they are the underdog ML and as someone has said +1.5 handicap.

You probably didn't see the game, hence the doubts.

Well, in contrary to the people's expectation in Embiid's return, the Sixers center was clearly not on his 100% and only got below 40% FG in his 27 minutes playtime on the court. We might say that Doc Rivers was just resting him in-between because he just got out from the injury but in reality, Embiid just badly needed to rest because it's clear that he can barely run coast to coast as most of the time, during the turnover, he was just waiting for the team on the other side and rarely finishes with an exclamation point.
535  Economy / Economics / Re: Which do you prefer on: May 03, 2023, 06:10:59 AM
Working as a civil servants have always been my thing, I work from Monday to Friday which to me is normal, I feel proud doing it until I started trading bitcoin.

Trading started making me see things differently, because I no longer wait for my monthly salary, now I earn money daily and week, due to the kind of large amount of money I make in trading I fell out of love for my civil service job, because the money is small  but it is still a decent salary.

Note: in trading I earn base on performance, but even though the market is too bad, I still earn a decent amount of money out of it in a month base on my level in trading.

My question is guys which do you prefer, a steady monthly salary which you know that no matter what, it must come once the month ends or a business/ trading/ any other thing which you can do that you earn base on performance and you have the capacity to earn ten fold of what a civil servants might earn if you are good at it, but there is also a possibility that you may have a bad day in the office which you may even incurred some loss.

Which do you prefer an why.

It all depends on how proficient and confident we are in that one field, if I am not sure of the abilities that I have maybe I will become a civil servant and get a salary every month while honing my skills in the field that I am interested in
Unless you have huge wealth in your account enough to take the risk in trading, then it won’t be hard to leave your current job and shift into trading as your new career. As long as you have great skills and strategies that work for you, then trading will be a good source for stable income. However, for some who are still learning to trade and improving their skills and strategies, it’s better to focus on your job while doing some trading at your spare hours. Trading is really rewarding and productive but it’s certainly more risky and stressful especially for those who are not used to the crypto market volatility.
536  Economy / Gambling / Re: How does AI gambling sound? on: May 02, 2023, 09:52:32 PM
AI's taking over, big league! But depending on it for bets? It's like betting your fortune on a digital dream. Picture a driverless car, just cruising along. Easy, right? But what if AI goes nuts? Are we ready for that disaster? Tech's great, but human gut feelings and know-how? Tremendous. AI's got useful hints, but it shouldn't call all the shots. Get unpredictable, be a maverick! We're people, not robots.
AI for betting is not going well with some gamblers. Some have been complaining that they used AI to bet and all the games gone abortive and there was no single win. Because Robot can never think like a human, the matter what. From the way I look at the whole thing, the AI is good in article writing and in that too one has to be careful because it will lead one to join the plagiarism net on their projects in schools and in their informal education projects.
Though I have not exprienced it but from others experience I don't think it is a good idea to use AI for gambling. But lazy gamblers will use it to gamble for them.
I have never used AI in gambling, that sounds very unrealistic to me when you chose AI to predict the gambling outcome rather than to trust your own human knowledge and instinct. However, maybe AI can be productive in other ways but never can be reliable in gambling. Though AI has been taking big leaps this time that some gamblers have start trusting it, but surely all they got were most losses than wins.
537  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to maintain profitability in crypto trading on: May 02, 2023, 09:28:25 PM
If you're already profitable and you just want to maintain it, you don't need to increase your capital unless your goal is to increase your profits.

The risk doesn't change and it's even gonna be bigger when you add some more capital in it. And when you're having some bad beats with your trades, it's okay to take a break.

And adding with the first tip, it's okay to be distracted when you're no longer productive and profitable. You really need to find some other things for you to release that tension and stress from trading.
I doubt if we can actually maintain from profiting when we’re in real trading. The market is not always safe to trade, so there are really instances that you are force to stop and just focus on long term hodling on your chosen investment. But if what you mean is to reduce your risk or losing, you can always do that by knowing when to trade and what potential coins to trade. Maintaining profitability is actually good, but you can’t actually expect it to be happening from an uncertain and unpredictable market.
538  Economy / Economics / Re: Food Crisis - Improved, Worsen or still the same in your country (No Change)? on: May 02, 2023, 08:49:01 PM
Basically there are no shortages really but the prices for food is insane pretty much. I would say food costs 50-100% more than it did back in 2019.

Sure at first it was because of Covid and then the supply constraints however lately there shouldn’t be any supply constraints and prices should of either leveled or declined a little. However you can clearly see that’s not the case when going shopping for groceries.
It’s not really food crisis, but seeing the food prices having consistent increase, then you will surely have food crisis at home since you can’t afford all of them unlike in the previous years. However, if you have a good and high flow of income, you will not really feel the price issues. You can always buy what you want, but feel sorry for those who are working on minimum wages as it could really affect their daily living.
539  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advise to a friend on: May 02, 2023, 07:59:21 PM
Your only role is to educate him about bitcoin and its market, but never reach to the point of finally convincing him to invest in it because you might be obliged to take the blame when everything didn’t work as planned. His money, his rules, and would never be yours. Besides, let him do such mistakes once, if that what it takes to make him learned and would never repeat the same mistake again. After all, one should never fear having mistakes and losses because they’re always be inevitable when you enter the world of investing.

Well it says “click to join our private community”, I think the telegram bot takes you to a group chat/channel where they post testimonies of how good their software works and a tag to contact the admin for help. Anyone who is dumb enough to get to this stage of contacting admin is likely to get scammed.

Phishing scams are popular these days, it’s very risky to open links on the internet, your device may get compromised.
Do not be tempted easily on what you see on your screen, as sometimes curiosity kills the cat. If you can avoid some strange links that popped up in your computer, then it would be better so you can get rid of scam attempts that wish you connect in your own account and steal what they have to steal. Or blocked these strange links that are probably source of scams.
