541  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Dangers of trading on: October 14, 2023, 01:44:41 PM
I am not here to discourage anyone about trading but I will say it still not suitable for beginners unless they pass through all the normal skills required for trading, it's risky that's why they are been warned almost every time on the forum, beginners are better off investing in Bitcoin rather than trading, and while they are holding Bitcoin they should devote time to start learning trading too.

I could remember when I was new to trading, I use some money to even copy trade and I lost over five hundred dollars just from copy trading, until I decide to start learning trading over time, that's when I know how important stochastic RSI is and still there are times I made the wrong trades and lose money.

There is no way you can get better at trading without losing money, because you can't always be right even with all the analysis and tools, it's even more risky to engage in day trading because of the way the market moves.
The moment you decide to trade, be ready for a financial loss. That is very certain as no one gets their desired profits without passing through certain amount of losses. And from there, learn from your mistakes that resulted into losses so you won’t be susceptible to creating the same mistakes again. And while trading needs knowledge and proven skills, a trader should also have long stretch of patience so he can timing the market when to make the best and profitable trades.
542  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Common mistakes by unskilled traders on: October 14, 2023, 01:12:40 PM
Mistakes are a part of individual traders growth in the crypto space. Then it's also true that trading is not easy; other newbies just think it's just buying and selling, but they don't think that these are things that should be considered in reality to achieve the desired profit.

And most of us already know that passion is really needed in crypto trading or in anything we want to know and learn. Apart from this, the only thing that is often done by others is that, due to a lack of knowledge, they base their trading on luck, while others become emotional and make rash decisions in their trading activity.
Trading is skill based, so if these unskilled traders rely on luck, they’re not actually trading but certainly gambling. And both are definitely differ with each other, except that both have their own risks.

However, mistakes are always normal in trading that even professionals still commit inevitable mistakes. But if you are in trading, you should know that mistakes will definitely lead to losses, and consistent losses will end up losing your entire trading career. That’s the reason why trading should be learned the hard way, otherwise you will never trade for profits but only consistent losses.
543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi's first tweet since 2018? on: October 13, 2023, 09:41:08 PM
That tweet has gotten some feedback from X users.

Apparently, the account is owned by faketoshi Craig Wright and he has been updating the account and making new tweets.

At first thought, I was wondering why satoshi will wait since then only to come out now and tweet?  Craig Wright really needs to drop this satoshi drama because it's no longer funny.  Cheesy
Craig Wright is probably the person behind all these updated tweets, because it’s obvious that Satoshi won’t resort into tweeting anyway if he is really the person behind. Whether he’s already dead or still alive, I guess  claiming his spotlight again is not his thing. Because if he really want to do it, he must have done this years ago. So I guess whether it’s Elon Musk or Craig Wright that created the tweet, well their tweet do not create an impact to bitcoin anyway.
544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: October 13, 2023, 05:33:14 AM
I'd like to share my experience with you all. Even though I'm not currently employed, I went through a phase of gambling while I was working in the past, and the outcome wasn't positive. It affected my job performance because, as you may know, when you lose, you tend to dwell on your losses and constantly think about strategies to win. When we talk about work, it usually means we're not particularly wealthy, and imagine what happens when we gamble money we can't afford to lose, especially when we're not earning much.

Yes, it will be unpleasant if you have a regular 9-5 job and then after that you will go on a gambling binge. Not a good combination specially if you live by paycheck to paycheck. Of course there were days that you are going to win, but as we all know, the house edge are going to caught up with us. And no matter how much money we have, if we don't have control over our emotions, sooner or later we're all going to lose.
Regardless of whether there's a house edge or not, sometimes when we really lose in gambling, we lose our focus on work because we get emotionally affected. Based on my experience, it's best if we can avoid gambling, discipline ourselves, and only gamble after work – but, of course, with limitations. We shouldn't let it affect our job.

Have you seen the movie "The Gambler"? He was a teacher in the morning, gambled at night, and became addicted, which eventually made him quit teaching and even put his life in danger due to big loans from loan sharks.

Let me tell you, the feeling is far from pleasant. It leads to a decline in your work performance, which can have significant consequences since that's your primary source of income. It might be manageable if you're winning, but the harsh reality is often quite the opposite. Even when we do win, we tend to spend most of our winnings, so we don't treat it as business money. This leaves us in a precarious situation when we lose because the money we initially budgeted for our families gets diverted to cover unexpected gambling-related expenses.

Yes, you are affected mentally, maybe there will be times after you lose that you will blame everyone around you, your officemates, your families to the badluck that you encountered when you gamble. But if you look closely, you are the one that put yourself into this predicament and no one to blame except you. And then you suffered depression in days, maybe loan some money to your officemates just to be able to cope with the issues of money that you have lost to gambling.

That will make the situation worse. You don't borrow money for gambling, as that's the best recipe for disaster.
545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Stevenson vs De Los Santos - Nov 16 on: October 13, 2023, 05:03:33 AM
And this is what De Los Santos has to say, hehehe

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/mWG90lOpFeM

He seems to be pretty pump up with his upcoming fights against Shakur Stevenson. And why he wouldn't? I mean this is a great opportunity for him as we say, everyone is ducking Stevenson but not De Los Santos. Still like a month before the fight, so they could be in the hardest part of their training right now.

LOL! even with subtitle I still could not get what he was saying, I just assume that he think he can win? isn't it right? haha. Anyway, whatever he say, it still could not change the fact that majority of the fans believe he would lose, and Shakur would just do the job like another day in the office.
You can hear and understand, M**F***, Lol. For sure, he thinks that he as a good chance to win against Shakur Stevenson. However, boxing fans knows that Shakur is the real deal as many at 135 lbs are avoiding him right now. And it just so happen the De Los Santos, is available and he is open to anyone, but he could be swallowing more than he can chew here. Anyhow, the 135 lbs still has the unified champion in Devin Haney, and hopefully he will come back in this division so that him and Shakur could fight. Although Devin Haney has move up to 140 lbs and fight the champion in Regis Prograis, but he recently said in any interview that he is willing to go back to this division and defend his belt, so we will see how it goes for Shakur

I would be happy for him to think that he could beat Shakur, as this could maintain his high confidence. We enjoy entertainment, and we certainly don't want to see a boxer fighting just to survive. With Shakur's quickness, De Los Santos might easily become frustrated and careless in the ring. However, since Shakur is a very clever fighter, he won't take high risks trying to knock down his opponent. He'll slowly wear down his opponent, and that's what we are likely to witness.

547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the Future of Bitcoin without the Inventor? on: October 12, 2023, 09:25:19 PM
Satoshi's last post was something like “bitcoin is in good hands now”. And he left. Meaning that he knew the community would take over the development and research for bitcoin.

Segwit was basically an idea brought by the community and it was implemented years after his departure. This is no different than Apple surviving without Steve Jobs.

And Satoshi was never wrong with that. In fact, bitcoin even becomes more popular in the process and has built strong foundation with time. No matter how many times it was declared dead, but until now bitcoin still continue to flourish and make progress. That’s how very trusting Satoshi to the bitcoin community, his presence is no longer present but his invention continues to develop to bring advantages to the world even if the world itself is sometimes cruel to bitcoin and its community.
548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Confident Are you With Altcoin In This Time on: October 12, 2023, 06:06:27 AM
I'm feeling pretty confident, just like back in the last bull run. Right now, I'm not even thinking about what's gonna happen with altcoins. My focus is squarely on Bitcoin, especially with the halving coming up. I'm hoping it'll kickstart a bullish trend. This is a cycle we've all seen before; Bitcoin, the big shot in the market, often leads the charge. People call it the king for a reason, right? So, a bullish run from Bitcoin should pave the way for the altcoins to join the party.

I'm definitely on the lookout for altcoins that have good value right now and those with potential. If we look at the market today, it's safe to say that maybe less than 10% are legit altcoins, while the rest are just trash, or what folks like to call "shitcoins." So, it's all about how much trust you put in the altcoin market. But always stay grounded and keep an eye on the altcoins you're holding. You never know when one of them might have taken a nosedive because the devs decided to pull an exit scam.
549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 12, 2023, 05:31:22 AM
I'm just curious about the rules, is it really a specific PBA team that will have represent or they can't be mix with other teams?

I think they can't mix it because it's a team, as the headline says, they specify that it's TNT, just like when ROS was sent to play during the Jones Cup. The last time we won a championship, I think there was a mix of players from different teams. However, with the good number of international leagues that we are committed to participating in, maybe SBP has just chosen a team since they already know each other well. What happened to ROS was different as they lost with no pride.

If I recall correctly, the last time we participated in EASL, we sent TNT and SMB, and we still lost big time.
550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler avoiding friends after a big win. on: October 11, 2023, 09:45:25 PM
It’s either he badly needed that money for his own family or whatsoever but that does not justify why he need to avoid his friends after winning big amount. If he is a responsible person, he should meet his friends and tell them that the money he won will have its own purpose, and that he can’t share some tips to them. His friends will surely understand that because they all gamble to earn money, and when luck is already there, then he should use the money wisely so as not to see it gone all of a sudden.
551  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop Trading on: October 11, 2023, 08:59:50 PM
Just as a skillful soccer player knows when to run with the ball and when just to hold the ball, a skillful trader should know that there is no need to always trade, and the need to know when to trade, and when to just observe the market. knowing that can also help to improve the profit they make by reducing the losses they can make by trading at wrong times.

Another time to avoid trading is during holidays.
That is a good point, traders are used to take action whenever they see something happening on the market, so eventually this becomes their default reaction to anything, but this is a mistake, there are market conditions that should not be traded and the best thing you can do is to simply go out and do something you enjoy instead of staring at your screen, however for a trader this is something very difficult to do, so they will try to trade during those difficult market conditions and lose a lot of money they could have saved themselves by literally doing nothing.
If you develop addiction in trading, then all you want to do is just to trade even when the market is not suitable to trade. Instead of just observing the market or enjoying your other habits, but because of greed you insist to keep on trading and see yourself losing in the end. This is not actually good, but if losing could be the only way to learn your lesson, then probably it will help you instead to realize that trading all the time is not a must. You must know when to trade and when not to, that’s the only way so you can maximize your gains and at some point, lessen your losses as well.
552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not keeping records makes me a bad gambler? on: October 11, 2023, 01:21:16 PM
I don't think so. There's a big chance most gamblers don't note all the bets that they do. They just do it directly because they are having way much fun. Maybe gamblers who are also accountants will do this kind of thing.

You don't need to be an accountant to handle this task. Just keeping track of your bets involves basic addition and subtraction. At the very least, it will keep you informed about your current status, making your gambling journey more grounded in reality. If you're only betting for fun and not staking a substantial amount, this may not be a critical step. However, if you're taking gambling more seriously, it's essential to manage your bankroll effectively. After all, your ultimate objective is to win, and the first step in achieving that is safeguarding your bankroll through prudent budgeting.

You are not a bad gambler just because you don't list all your bets, it's just that it's the traditional way of gambling, we don't really need to do it unless our memory is that bad.  Grin
You should've made a poll on who are recording all their bets and not. I bet the "not" option will win.

The majority of us don't maintain a record of our gambling activities. It's not a common practice because many of us engage in gambling as a casual pastime. Wins and losses come and go, and it's often seen as part of the normal gambling experience.

554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever heard about financing a gambler? on: October 10, 2023, 09:45:59 PM
For me, financing a gambler will never actually work. Why? Because gambling alone never guarantees winning. Once we gamble, we are bound to lose. That is the reason why gambling should never be viewed as something that will make you profitable in the long run, it may even bring you on its opposition in the end. So if someone goes to you and ask to finance him, always refuse the offer. It surely is a scam.
555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin always fight back on: October 10, 2023, 08:59:35 PM
That’s how strong bitcoin is that it can totally stand throughout the test of time. A lot of times bitcoin has declared dead but until now, bitcoin is still totally alive and fighting. And no matter how the market becomes cruel and the people lost their hopes due to market volatility and the negative factors that put bitcoin price at risk, still bitcoin up to now is not settling in a very low value. In fact, after this upcoming bitcoin halving, bitcoin will certainly reach an all time high, something that we may have been expecting to happen hopefully.
556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casino Crypto gambling on: October 10, 2023, 04:58:12 AM
Well, we're all gathered here, so what's the game plan? As gamblers, we stick together patronizing crypto casinos because when we are investor as well in crypto, it's pretty clear that demand has a direct impact on driving those prices up.

Now, let's talk about crypto gambling for a sec. It's a different ball game compared to traditional fiat casinos. What sets it apart is the payment system. We're not living in the past anymore, and pretty much no gambling site these days only accepts bitcoin. We've got a whole array of altcoins in the mix.

When it comes to crypto gambling, luck isn't tied to it in the same way as in fiat casinos. It's not about comparing apples to oranges. Luck is luck, whether you're rolling the dice in a fiat casino or spinning the reels in a crypto one. That's the bottom line.
557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 10, 2023, 04:32:43 AM
Many fans think that its Mike Williams and Maverick Ahanmisi I don't know if I spelled his name right but this is flooded on Podcast of Pow sports. If that's the case then its not good since they are not actually committed for their country but rather they are there trying to earn a lot of money from the team. They shouldn't ask that since they don't prove anything yet on the league.

But they should move on to that discussion since that already happen, they already won the gold medal on last Asian games so its time for them to celebrate and ignore those negative  interference that can spoil the fun. They just focus on players that can provide their service without asking more further conditions  and forget about those people who ask to much from them.

These two have a track record of demanding hefty salaries from their teams, so it wouldn't be shocking if it turned out to be them. However, it's not essential anymore. We've managed to assemble a solid team, and even with limited preparation, we still clinched the gold medal.

Speaking of pay and salaries, I heard that SBP paid Jordan Clarkson $1 million for his participation in the FIBA World Cup. So, if they can afford to shell out that much, I believe our champions deserve a substantial reward, especially Justin Brownlee, who really carried the team and made history.
558  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tszyu vs. Mendoza Confirmed for WBO Title Showdown on October 15th on: October 09, 2023, 10:29:00 AM
While Tszyu may not be known as a knockout artist, I have to admit, his style isn't as thrilling to watch as boxers like Tank Davis and Crawford. However, in this matchup, it's pretty clear that he holds the advantage over Mendoza. That's not to say Mendoza lacks capability, though. This is just my personal perspective, and I'm backing up my opinion with a bet. I'm taking a bit of a risk here since Mendoza tends to engage in toe-to-toe battles, but my bet is on Tszyu winning by KO/TKO.

With 17 KOs in 23 wins, that's a solid 74% KO rate, rounded up. So, I'd say he's definitely a KO artist. Plus, if you check out his last two fights, both ended in knockouts.

Now, when it comes to Mendoza, he can also fit the KO artist category, with 16 KOs in 22 wins. It seems like Mendoza might not pose a significant threat to Tszyu. After all, Tszyu's got some serious boxing skills, and you can clearly see his ring IQ in action. He's the kind of fighter who believes he doesn't have to win by KO every time; what matters most is getting that win.
559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 09, 2023, 09:44:16 AM
Sadly, we won't be seeing the BAD this season since the team's been disbanded. I'm sure fans would have loved to welcome them, especially after they gave the Ginebra Gin Kings such a tough challenge in their first attempt. But hey, I'm still hoping for some top-notch entertainment, maybe even more than before!

I think even before, Bay Area Dragons was not the expected team to play again as a visitor in the PBA. Just an option though.

There are lots of foreign teams that were targeted by the board but never it mentioned any names.

I hope another foreign team will be deployed on the PBA. It brings a good challenge to our locals especially the mid-tier teams.

I remember hearing the buzz that they might be making a comeback, but then the heartbreaking news dropped - turns out the team got disbanded because the management couldn't handle the costs of keeping the squad running. It's a bummer for sure, but maybe it's best to let that team rest in peace since they're no longer around.

But hey, it seems like the PBA might be onto something exciting by bringing in foreign teams to the competition. Not only does it get fans all hyped up, but it's likely raking in some serious dough for the league. I mean, think about it: when a foreign squad ends up in the Finals, especially against Ginebra, you can bet folks are showing up to support, just like when our Gilas team faces off against other foreign teams. Good times for sure!
560  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Don't be afraid of buying Bitcoin on: October 07, 2023, 02:20:56 PM
Let me show you why wealthy men like changpeng Zhao(cz), Brian Armstrong, Jed mc Caleb etc can hold billions in Bitcoin without being afraid.
Take note they're wealthy men.
So invest what you can afford.

If you have an amount that you can afford to wait to make a profit why not you were afraid?
People who understand the Bitcoin concept will surely not hesitate to invest in Bitcoin since they know how much potential it has and people you mentioned above they know it.
It's a lot different when rich people invest than the poor ones taking an investment. Of course, those rich men have always bigger opportunities to buy bitcoin and expect huge profits as well. While these low income individuals will have to hesitate buying bitcoin because once their investment lose, that means their finances will end up struggling. But one thing is certain, no one is rich or poor when it comes to investment. Everyone ends losing and gaining, but there's always a great advantage if you have a smart and knowledgeable mind that makes you see the real potentials and value of a certain investment.
