641  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: November 24, 2023, 06:03:36 AM
When we're lonely there are a lot of things that come into our mind to have fun. Gambling is just one of the hundreds of options for a lonely person trying to escape his loneliness. Each of us has our own interests and most likely a lonely person can focus on it or they could also explore other things that are new to them.

I bet regularly but when I am lonely, I prefer to watch movies like comedy or do exercise to change my mood. If I have the luxury then I'll probably just travel anywhere that is something new to me.

So at the end of the day, a lonely person can only get addicted to gambling if he's irresponsible. So lonely or not, an irresponsible person can be addicted to anything like smoking, eating, prostitutes, gambling, and many more.
642  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 24, 2023, 05:27:05 AM
The OKC is becoming a trend currently due to its 6-game winning streak and they're now second in the Western Conference. But it will be more exciting to watch their next 4 games as they're facing the other top teams, Philadelphia, Timberwolves, Lakers, and then Dallas.

Meanwhile, after the Milwaukee-Boston game, maybe some of you watched when Giannis asked if he watched Wembanyama play. The answer was very unusual, he said he never watched basketball except when he sat on the bench during Bucks' games. I wonder if he's just upset with the close defeat of he's just another Jokic who play basketball but not a fan of it. Cheesy
643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte (December 2) on: November 23, 2023, 07:00:10 AM
It's less than 2 weeks already and we'll see if Ryan Garcia has improved since joining Derrick James. But still, it is hard to make this fight a basis if Ryan is ready for a title fight because Duarte is only a 135-fighter. Sometimes it is sad when Ryan complains as to how Davis made him drop in weight and not fight his confident weight. But here he is exploiting a 135 fighter to move up in weight. So this time, I am hoping the underdog to score an upset. Ryan has already been dropped after getting hit in the chin and was stopped by a body shot so somehow Duarte has a clue on how things should be done. But it won't be easy since Ryan is fighting in his comfortable weight so he will definitely come out strong and Duarte might appear slower and needs to acclimatize due to the added weight which he is not used to.
644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stop the self entitlement claims on others gamblers winnings. on: November 23, 2023, 06:33:21 AM
I strictly stand against the fact that any should be entitled to a wining form someone else, I mean how can someone even think of not been appreciative of a free money giving to you by a gambler who on his own part has experience some losses, beside we don't even know how long he has been gambling before making that win but, the ungrateful act is just so annoying. No matter the amount the gambler used in staking the wining slip, the money is still his, so he can do what ever he wants with it, after all not everyone would even do such a generous act in a casino hall.

I don't understand why some people have that kind of attitude. I remember there's also a topic here because that guy wanted his friend to follow his advice. He called his friend's decision greedy because his advice was not followed. They had an argument because this unashamed person wanted to insist on his advice as if he were the one spending the money. The argument didn't end well but his friend was right to continue betting because the betting ticket actually won.

The world is better when people mind their own business unless it's something that can harm them.
645  Economy / Economics / Re: Imaginary Future on: November 23, 2023, 06:11:53 AM
It often happens, I was even willing not to buy my dream motorbike just to choose to invest in Bitcoin. for me to get a bright future we have to sacrifice the happiness of youth or the present. for example, to get a bright future we must have knowledge and to gain knowledge we must sacrifice our youth to seek knowledge. The point is to get a bright future there are many things we have to sacrifice, including not buying something we want and choosing investments.

Same here mate. I guess it is normal for people like us who are eager to have a better future to satisfy our present craves which aren't too futuristic. Since 2022 which was the start of the bear season in crypto, I haven't bought something too expensive for myself. I traveled outside the city only twice as well. All of these sacrifices are in the name of saving in order to invest more into bitcoin and some altcoins.

Hopefully, next year starts a major bull run. I am planning to live outside the city for months and chill. But of course, I will continue monitoring the market.
646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you bet on when your league is in break? on: November 23, 2023, 05:51:38 AM
It is best to only bet on leagues, sports, teams, and players with whom we are mostly familiar. So in case your favorite league taking a break and you aren't familiar with the other leagues and sports then maybe stick to doing other stuff than betting. Or at least explore other leagues and sports that you are also interested in so you can start betting with decent chances of winning.

As for me, I am a sports lover so I am not short of it really. But since we only have limited time to watch and analyze our bets I only stick to the ones I am interested in most. At the moment I am mostly into NBA (basketball), boxing, DOTA 2 (esports), and UFC (mixed martial arts).
647  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Investment: Good Debts vs Bad Debts on: November 23, 2023, 05:31:13 AM
Good debt or bad debt, I don't like either. Debt is not a very good thing. Debt degrades human nature. Although the borrowed money seems to be own money for some time, later the borrowed money has to be paid back on time. There are some bad loans that incur penalties if not repaid on time. It is not always possible to get success by using borrowed money, if the borrowed money fails to be used properly, the borrower must face losses. If you decide to invest or do business with borrowed money. I think, it is a wrong decision because there are risks in both investment or business. So I will never risk investing or trading with borrowed money.

I also have a mindset where I am feeling allergic when it comes to debts. I am feeling better and at peace when I have no debts.

But those rich people and companies are actually taking loans in order to establish more business. Of course, there are loan interests and penalties when loan payment dates aren't followed, otherwise, borrowers can abuse the system.

Borrowing money in order to trade is always a no/no to me and to most people here as I observed. Borrowing money is only at best when used in a business. Of course, before considering a loan, there should already be a business plan in order to have a higher chance of success.
648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 23, 2023, 05:11:30 AM
I also prefer Chet to win. I'm planning to make a bet on him while it's still 2.50. Wemby is at 1.50 so I am not surprised if he will really take the ROTY knowing he has all the time to pump his stats. There's also a big difference when it comes to the coaches since OKC's mission is to win and get into the playoffs as deep as possible. While the other coach is fully giving his time to Wemby.

Next season should be another interesting one in terms of these 2 players. But I expect OKC to become a better team that is capable of becoming NBA champions while San Antonio starts building players fit Wemby.

Chet is on the right team as they are on a mission, not just to make the playoffs but to be competitive once they are in the playoffs. With SGA playing the way he is and Chet making significant contributions, this OKC team is stronger than last season, and they've gained valuable experience. On the other hand, Wemby's hype might persist, but it's hard to ignore that his numbers aren't living up to the fans' expectations anymore.

OKC is now second in the Western Conference and is on a 6-win streak. Chet is in a better team but he also has tougher surroundings since he needs to continue stepping up his game or he won't get the playing time or trust on their plays.

Meanwhile, Wemby and the Spurs are now on a 10-game losing streak. I expect the streak to reach 12 since they'll be traveling next to San Francisco and Denver in their next 2 games. The season is still young though, win or lose Wemby's stats have a good chance of improving while he is also gaining NBA experience and lessons.
649  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Binance CEO CZ bumaba sa pwesto, at nagkipagsettle on: November 23, 2023, 04:49:21 AM
Sa mga Binance users, ano ginawa niyo guys? Nagwidraw kayo or stay as usual lang? Kayo ba?

To my understanding, sa February pa magstart yung pagkakulong niya. Nakabail siya ngayon at undecided pa rin ang US court if allowed siyang bumalik sa UAE then balik for his sentencing.

Sa ngayon running well naman Binance at tumaas pa nga BNB today. As mentioned by @DabsPoorVersion, CZ is not Binance nor BNB. Meron mga nagwidraw natakot siguro pero majority nanatili pa rin naman sa Binance. Di na lang ako magwidraw ang observe na lang sa further updates at baka meron pa possible cases na madamay si Binance.
650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 22, 2023, 09:23:14 AM
I hope he will not put too much pressure on himself, he was overhype by the media and the main reason to that is his height and that he got some move which we've seen in the recent games, but he's not ready yet, he still has a big room for improvement,  starts with growing some muscle I guess.

I think the problem is that the media has created an image of Victor as a super versatile center who can grab a lot of rebounds and make a lot of blocks as well as make shots outside the paint, including three-point shots, which is not typical for a big guy like him. As we can see, that's not really true because his three-point shooting percentage is only 26.9% at the moment. That's pretty bad, and I personally don't understand why he keeps shooting three-pointers every game anyway.

Well, San Antonio is a rebuilding team and everything is geared towards developing and finding the strengths and weaknesses of Wemby. So this season is a testing ground for Wemby. Pop is probably telling him to do everything Wemby thinks and wants to do because it is also a way of finding his maximum potential. At the end of this season, the Spurs can make an assessment and then start moving and taking some players necessary as role players for Wemby.

Everything is built for Wemby, so the betting odds still highly favor him to win ROTY over Chet. Wemby could be averaging 20+ points at the end of this season. OKC doesn't care much if Chet can produce or not since the goal is to win and SGA is their leading man.

Most provably this will be the result since there's no pressure for SPURS to lose since as stated that they are rebuilding and they just newly acquire Wemby on their team. For sure many fans already expect that this will happen since they are in the process where they need a roster that perfect fit to surround him.

Although I'm doubting about him winning a ROTY this season since Chet is doing so well but who knows if Wemby can able to perform more points, assist and rebounds per game then provably he will take that against Chet this season.

Right now its up to their coach on how they can develop this team to became more better next season since mostly this is what people expect on them that they became more productive next season.

I also prefer Chet to win. I'm planning to make a bet on him while it's still 2.50. Wemby is at 1.50 so I am not surprised if he will really take the ROTY knowing he has all the time to pump his stats. 651  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you pay for signals? And how much ? on: November 22, 2023, 08:58:09 AM
In the past, I am against paying for signals. But when I became busy with other stuff, I decided to give it a try but only to those people I knew even online. Most payments I made in the past were $10 dollars per week. But it always ended with me not profiting. I only profit in the early part and then times when the market is becoming much more difficult and the usual indicators these people are using are not effective anymore.

So I don't advise people to pay for signals. We better study on our own and make our own trades. Because most of these traders offering signals are most likely earning money from their subscribers. Even lately when the market seems bullish, I see a lot of advertisements and people conducting paid trading seminars. If they're very good, why waste their time and make efforts to conduct paid seminars when they can just travel and have fun while trading?

653  Economy / Economics / Re: when the rich say 'ill give 95% of my billion away over my lifetime' explained on: November 22, 2023, 08:38:17 AM
It is true that rich people giving a lot of money doesn't mean they are giving up their wealth. But most if not all of these giving or donating stuff, are actually through their foundations. It means that rich people's tax gets minimized to the lowest levels. Having foundations and charities is the best way of avoiding tax legally. So they're paying very low taxes plus they're receiving a good image from communities and governments. It's like having free advertisements then.

And rich people have little cash in the banks. They're investing it from different types of assets, be it lands, bonds, stocks or even constructing huge projects that will grow the value of their money over time. Rich people are masters of avoiding inflation which is why they're rich.
654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is currently the best crypto to invest in? on: November 22, 2023, 08:17:08 AM
This is very easy to answer. Without a doubt it is bitcoin. You can simply track it since its creation last 2019 from no value to $36k. I will include the next coin since it remained second to bitcoin for many years already. Yes, ethereum is so solid that it remains the second most valuable next to bitcoin. So for me, you don't invest in crypto without bitcoin and then if you're diversifying crypto investments like many of us, ethereum is also a must. After these 2 coins, we can start exploring the other projects and see if they are worth the risk as well and only invest the amount that are willing to get lost.
655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever been a gambling addict? on: November 22, 2023, 07:57:06 AM
There was a time when I just bet for the sake of betting. So I guess it's addiction already.  In the past, I also felt the urge to play games and there were times when I forced it even if I had priorities to do. And then I felt bad when luck was not on my side so it's better if I just gave a pass and did my other priorities. But they are not something serious because I always bet according to my financial status. And it is very important for us to continue learning lessons in life to become a better person. I still bet regularly with minimal amounts and I am having fun with it.

657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Luck and skill, which is more important for gambling success? on: November 21, 2023, 11:56:04 AM
Some games cannot be strategized and to win, it depends on luck. There are also games which is a combination of both skill and luck like poker and some other games.

However, sports betting while it still needs luck is mostly based on learning and research skills. So for me, it is the most challenging kind of betting. This is why I am mostly into sports betting since I am more confident of getting a win. Besides, it is also more fun and thrilling to watch games when we have a bet. But we should also put it in our mindsets that betting is not a good source of income which is why we need to bet responsibly.
658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to identify shitcoins? on: November 21, 2023, 11:35:00 AM
The easiest and most efficient way is to consider all coins as shitcoins unless proven legit. So people need to research every coin and project they are interested in. Bitcoin since 2009 has been the most proven among all decentralized cryptocurrencies. In terms of partnerships, Ethereum is the biggest platform pioneering smart contracts.

To start first, stick to the top 20 coins. People interested in crypto won't stop learning so the rest of the coins outside the top 20 will be explored and learned soon.
659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When does the moment come when the gambler loses control? on: November 21, 2023, 10:59:25 AM
There are many ways to lose control of gambling. I believe most of it is when people want to regain their losses. And once they continue to lose beyond budget, that is when the real problem starts. Spending money outside of the regular budget or in a worst-case scenario is to borrow money from someone with interest. Imagine losing all the money borrowed with interest. It's either the borrower becomes paranoid or it becomes shameless prolonging the payment or even not paying it.

This is why it is so important for people to stick with their betting budget before starting. Also, there should be a time limit to avoid getting addicted.
