661  Economy / Economics / Re: To afford personal education or a property? Where to allocate funds? on: September 06, 2023, 03:02:18 PM
Having a degree at this moment is not that highly valuable anymore. You can be educated if you want by doing your due diligence to learn from all the free resources online. That way, your knowledge will be limitless.

On the contrary, buying a property that will provide you passive income is very practical. Not only yourself will benefit, but your family as well. As long as you also have the prior knowledge and skills to make your property productive, and bring your life progress later on, I think that will be a very valuable idea. Your success will not depend on your educational achievement, but on your attitude and life’s perspective that will pave way to reach your goal.

Canada vs. Slovenia is up next. According to the bookies, Canada is the heavy favorite to win. But who among us here believes we're going to see an upset?

On the sportsbook I'm using, here are the odds:

Canada: 1.31 or -7.5
Slovenia: 3.65 or +7.5

Can Luka carry his team?

The game has started. Well, considering this is a do-or-die game and Slovenia is still a decent team, I think I would choose the handicap. Canada is probably the next best team after Team USA, but this is a big challenge for them. Let's see how they'll compete against Slovenia. If they win this game dominantly, it would prove they are ready for the next stage.

I'm rooting for LUKA! I hope he gets this big win.
Canada is double-teaming Luka, but Slovenia has already anticipated this, as they have ready shooters who are willing to take the shot when Luka struggles to find an opening. The game is still close, with Canada leading by just 4 points. By the looks of it, it seems like it's anybody's ball game. Let the fun continue as Slovenia takes a little break with a timeout. They don't want Canada to take a big lead; they need to make an adjustment right away.

Thinking Canada vs the US in the finals.  Would be a battle of 2 of the smaller teams in the tournament.  I think that is possibly one of the worst outcomes for the US, as Canada's fromtcourt can play with US's.  Would think at that point going inside to Jackson, Portis etc would be the gameplan.

I guess Canada will likely advance in this game, as they seem to have figured out how to play the right defense against Luka. What's happening is that when they lock down Luka, others are also affected. As I'm witnessing now, they are struggling to score points, and Canada is enjoying a double-digit lead already.

The score is 77-61 in favor of Canada; I think I've seen this before  Smiley

664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: September 05, 2023, 02:22:15 PM
I think with regards to giving Casimero a chance, Casimero must prove himself a bit more on this weight division.  He must secure impressive wins against his upcoming opponent to impress the boxing council and possibly consider him as the top contender of that division.
He certainly needs to prove everything in this division because it's not the same anymore when he was still at 118 where he dominated each and every opponent he faced.
This time, it's new to him and the people, even the bodies are still not that convinced of what he did hence why he got a much lower rank because if these bodies have thought the opposite then Casimero should've started in the Top 10 like the other boxers who made a name in their previous weight classes.

At least currently, the effort is being rewarded from being unranked before to ranked.

Casimero just needs to keep on winning to be eligible as a contender regardless of who os the opponent, ranked or unranked, popular or not. Losing should not even be an option as losing one of his future fight from now will just result from starting again at the bottom. Who knows that he will soon face Inoue but actually it doesn't matter as the goal is to become a champion again. Don't chase Inoue and just follow what on his timeline. If they will meet, they will meet.
We don't know anything about Casimero's plans at all and we're just assuming that he's still looking forward to fight with Inoue soon but what if you're right? That right now, he's just taking things in his own pace so that he can be a champion again because there is a huge chance that Inoue will climb again once his mission at 122 is already finished and once that happens, he can dominate the division on his own because the biggest stumbling block is gone.

Casimero's journey ahead is very tough. If he wants to become a champion, he needs to beat Inoue in the current division. I'm no longer considering the outcome of Inoue vs. Tapales, as I'm certain Inoue will easily win. Now, I'm more interested in how Casimero and Inoue will negotiate once the former becomes a mandatory challenger.

I read an article stating that Inoue would stay in this division for a while after beating Tapales. That statement alone gives hope to us fans that one day we will see our anticipated fight, which is Casimero vs. Inoue. This one should be a war.

It appears that there's a chance we won't get to see Coach Tab taking on the role of coaching Gilas, as there's unofficial news suggesting that he has been hired as the new coach of the Indonesia National Team.

Quote
(UNOFFICIAL) According to Snow, his kuliglig told him that Tab will leave the country soon to coach the Indonesian Team. Such a loss for the Philippines to waste this gem and on the otherhand it is a BIG development for the Indonesian Basketball to have this type of Coach. While the Philippines might just rot on the old system, and old gameplay that will make PH basketball to its lowest level of play.

https://www.facebook.com/theIskor

If this rumor is true, then I think it would break the hearts of the fans who are longing to see Coach Tab coach the Gilas Pilipinas. I understand why people want him because he has already proven himself. When he was coaching the team, there were lots of praises for the team, even though Gilas did not advance to the biggest stage. Now, if he were to coach Indonesia, would that mean he would also leave the Philippines?

This is breaking news. I believe Coach Tab was one of the coaches considered to coach the Gilas Pilipinas. If this is true, maybe he wasn't really considered, which is why he chose to coach another country's national team. I believe he was let go as the Gilas coach before, so the SBP probably isn't pleased with him and might not rehire him despite the fans' eagerness to see him coach our struggling national team.

As they say, we have the talent but lack a good coach. So, when will we see one?
666  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why do members switch campaigns always? on: September 02, 2023, 04:56:20 PM
I believe the reason is too obvious that user preferred a better pay grade or a much simpler rules that give them freedom to post on the boards that they want. Campaign participants will not join on any signature campaign if they have enough money from their salary or investments just like what the OG user on Wall Observer thread that have enough credentials to join any campaign that they like but decided to avoid any commitments by posting just to be paid.

Campaign managers doesn’t have any rules about this so user find it normal to chase for a better pay grade over the duration of the campaign since they can join back again whenever they like especially those user that is high merit count.

Mostly, it's because of money and convenience. Members do not want to do stay longer in a campaign if they are not comfortable working on it, especially if there are delayed payments most of the time. Joining a signature campaign is like working on your job, you cannot sustain working on it for a longer time if you are not receiving high salary rate, nor enjoying the environment of the campaign. Once members stick on a campaign for 3 years or more, most likely the campaign itself is very productive along with its very responsible and reputable campaign manager.
667  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you expect better, but then impulsively jump into things due to FOMO? on: September 02, 2023, 04:27:20 PM
Hey all, I am new here: I've been reading a lot, and not posting much at first. You have a great place to learn at BCT. When trading crypto do you expect better, from yourself, but then impulsively jump into things due to FOMO? Has anyone reading this ever found a cure? How do you permanently change and naturally be patient? Thanks all.
Experience will tell it all. At first, it’s normal for us to jump into FOMO because we always want to take an edge on everything, not actually thinking that this FOMO will only lead us into more losses and frustrations. However, as time goes by, and as experience in the market has widen, you will eventually learn to adjust and be patient. You will realize that sticking to your goal is most important, than to divert things and suddenly jump into FOMO because of your uncontrollable fears and doubt.
668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I go with Bitcoin or Altcoins for the upcoming bull run cycle? on: September 02, 2023, 03:27:24 PM
It cannot be denied that some of us here have been earning bigger profits in altcoins more than bitcoin, but the question is are their being profitable sustainable enough? Because we all know that altcoins are just pump and dump scheme, one day they’re up, the following day they’re totally down. So I cannot compromise myself particularly my finances to trust altcoins more than bitcoin. However, I believe we vary with our own decision making. But as a piece of advice, learn to weigh things first before you jump investing into a bigger amount. Established altcoins have the potentials to succeed, but with bitcoin, there is high security and guarantees that it will never end up as dead coin like most altcoins do.

Anyway, China vs Philippines tomorrow and it's surprising that Philippines is the favorites.

Philippines 1.68 vs China 2.19.

Considering that this is a non-bearing match, it's possible that China won't exert full effort, which could explain why the Philippines is the favorite to win. Playing in front of a home crowd presents a significant opportunity for them to secure a victory and bring joy to their fans. Betting on the Philippines in a game with no bearing might not be a hesitation, as I believe they will put in their best effort to entertain the crowd in their final game.

Hopefully, they will do that and take a win in front of the home crowd. I mean, what if China takes it seriously for the sake of pride? Just saying, as the odd is tempting since it's no bearing but it can also be a trap to bring money on the table, we don't know what's the plan so for those who are unsure best to play or bet during the live game to see if what's the chances for both squads.

The odds have shifted since before the game, with China initially being the slight favorite to win. This change in odds provides a good opportunity for bettors supporting our national team. From what I'm observing, this game could go either way as it's very close. To improve their chances, the Philippines may need to focus on limiting turnovers, especially in the second half, to build momentum going into the fourth quarter. They can't afford to lose by a significant margin in the third quarter, as happened against South Sudan, if my memory serves me correctly. Managing turnovers and maintaining a competitive performance throughout the game will be crucial for their success.

Maximize Risk-Taking:
Be careful of high leverage, they can end you and put you in debt even before you make any real profit from trading. They are attractive but also dangerous and should be avoided by every trader especially the inexperienced ones who are just new to trading. Risk is encouraged, but it should not be taken blindly when you as a trader know that you are not in a position to handle the dangers that come with taking risk.

Maximize your risk wisely.
You're right in here mate. Risks are always encouraged but only for those who are only capable to overcome it. And when we say taking high leverage, it's definitely not advisable to all who want to take risks most especially for beginners. Yes, it can provide us the maximum risk taking and the most possible high profits in the future, but taking leverage without proper caution will only ruin your life instead. It could be a form of suicidal especially for those who are only motivated with greed and personal desires.
672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lessons Taken from Previous Bull Markets: How Will Your Approach Change? on: September 01, 2023, 06:10:23 PM
The only things I've learned from the previous cycles is that bitcoin is the king and all the rest are shitcoins that come and go and that there's no bad moment to buy bitcoin, as it eventually surpasses all earlier highs in a perpetual uptrend. There's really no special plan or anything, but being stubborn and patient when it comes to my bitcoin.

My strategy is to buy as much as I can of this great thing and hold it for as long as I can because...
It's going up up forever Laura.
You nailed it. Bitcoin has always been the most profitable and reliable crypto investment so buying its price either high or low will still create big returns when it's the right time to sell. But if you want to maximize your future profits, then maximize buying as well and hold them with no definite time. This is my focus today, to accumulate as much as I can and do DCA whenever I can. That way, when everyone else is selling and making decent profits, surely I'm also having a great time as well.

674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: September 01, 2023, 12:47:20 PM
Yes, I'm expecting that Tapales will really adjust, if he can change and have a good plan against Akhmadallev, then for sure, his trainer could have also scout Inoue when he fought Fulton as they are in the ring side watching the fight.

And maybe Tapales have taken advantage of that fight as well, maybe see what the flaws of Inoue or if they were able to look for small gaps that Inoue might have, like lapses in defense and opening when throwing his punches. And if they did, they the best plan for Tapales is to set Inoue up and then counter with that hook if Inoue throws looping right or straight right.

Many boxers have attempted to make adjustments when facing Inoue, but it often proves insufficient. Take the example of Fulton, who initially adopted a defensive approach, refraining from throwing many punches. However, in the later rounds, he took a risk and tried to become more aggressive, only to be caught by Inoue's power punches, resulting in a knockout.

If Tapales experiences Inoue's intimidating punching power, it's doubtful he will be able to execute his game plan. It wouldn't be surprising if he follows a similar pattern to other fighters who have faced Inoue, opting to minimize offensive engagement and focus more on defense in an attempt to prolong the fight.
675  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading not for everyone! on: August 31, 2023, 09:46:50 PM
This advice should be aimed not only to beginners, but also to the more general public for people interested in cryptocurrency. It is clear that a huge number of people who are interested in crypto do not earn a profit from trading; the majority of them always lose and only a few make a good profit. Those who have made good profits and become wealthy through cryptocurrency are the holders; they buy when the market is down and sell when the market is up.

Day trading or short term trading is not for everyone. It's a wild fire that even experienced traders find it hard to handle. You are right in saying that profit in the long run lies in HODLing and short term trading can only give you occasional benefit. I have tried day trading and quickly find out that I am not suitable for that and left that trading to avoid future loses. The more quickly you understand trading (short and day) and its prons/cons the better it is for your capital.
Just accept the reality that not all those who aim to trade end up trading successfully. Some are just trying hard to make their trading works but eventually, when all they experience are frequent losses than gains, that’s where they realized that trading is not for them. So never doubt yourself but never fail to admit when you feel things are not doing good. Trading is not for everyone, as well as trading is not a must in the market.
676  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My experience as a beginner trader on: August 31, 2023, 02:22:40 PM
There are no experience mate Grin you lose  as a beginner to become a stronger trader  Smiley so for everyone out there thinking of QUITTING QUITTING is not the option here just keep learning  till you  can say "Gone are those days " Grin
Quitting will never make you a winner. If you refuse to move forward from your mistakes and losses in your initial trades, then it’s like you accept yourself that you’re not really bound to be a successful trader. Always know that those successful traders today have started from scratch way back then. They endure a lot of losses and frustrations that made them stronger and more motivated to win and be successful. And from beginner traders, until they become pros and veterans in trading. And that’s when they can say, gone are those days where they consistently lose and suffer, now it’s time for them to reap their hard work and dedication in trading.
677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 31, 2023, 11:36:17 AM
Most probably yeah! Giannis already expressed that he wants to be on a team that could give him additional rings and he will not be staying with the Bucks if he couldn't win one anymore. So, the Warriors will be a perfect spot for him in his free agency. NBA fans are actually looking forward to this and the Bucks not gonna be the same anymore if Giannis leave, well not unless if they can make a significant improvement with the team next season.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is popular in NBA game after he leaded the Bucks to Championship finals wining and around the globe. He's popularly known as the Greek Freak in the game. Milwaukee Bucks should do everything within their reach to retained the top-notch player in the club, because it would be hugh loss if he moves out. Giannis only wants titles and winning rings would be the appropriate credits he deserved, furthermore the team should signed more important players that will aides in enhancing and strengthening the club interms of performance on the court.
Of course, the Bucks management will have to do everything in their power to retain the services of the Bucks. Giannis becoming the face of the franchise and even winning a NBA ring for them after a long drought.

But if he chooses to go and take another route, then they can't do anything about the Greek Freak. That's why this season is a must for the Bucks to at least go to the finals because this could be the last year of Giannis if I'm not mistaken, so whether he extends or signs a new contract? We will have to see then.

What more can they do? Despite awarding him a max contract, Giannis still remains unwilling to extend his tenure with the team. In my opinion, it's not solely about the money for Giannis at this point; rather, it's the opportunity to secure another championship. He aims to solidify his legacy in the NBA while he's still young. I believe that the offerings the Bucks can provide Giannis can also be matched by other teams he might consider joining. Given that Giannis is currently in his prime and virtually unstoppable, his desired benefits are attainable elsewhere.

While not the most vocal player, Giannis has now expressed his inclination to part ways with the Bucks for the first time. This suggests that his statement holds genuine weight.

Following Japan, another Asian team secured their first victory in the FIBA World Cup.

China outplays Angola to nail 1st FIBA World Cup win

Quote
MANILA, Philippines -- China used a furious second half to pull away from a Jekyll-and-Hyde Angola team as they notched their first win in the FIBA World Cup, 83-76, Thursday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

With this, they are the second Asian country to win a game at the basketball meet.

Congratulations to China for defeating Angola. Now, I have doubts about whether the Philippines can truly win against South Sudan tonight, considering that South Sudan defeated China by a significant margin, and yet China managed to beat Angola—a team that had previously defeated the Philippines.
679  Economy / Economics / Re: I wonder if food prices in your country have also increased? on: August 30, 2023, 09:27:40 PM
In my country, all I can say that prices have terribly gone so high. I pity those who have nothing to buy because with the current economy prices these days, people won’t no longer survive if they don’t have sufficient funds for survival. That’s the reason why focusing on a single job is not reasonable and dependable anymore, if you can have two-three additional jobs, much better. That will save you from the current inflation, and will help you manage and budget your funds without struggling on how to make your ends meet.
680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 30, 2023, 02:23:35 PM
On the other hand, Tapales does have good speed and a very hard punch,

Just like i said before, no matter how good Tapales is, this is Inoue's game, i mean This unification fight if pushes through is for Inoue to win and all they need to do is pay Marlon Tapales the right amount for them to get the Filipino fighter's nod.

Just a little trivia about Tapales, on his last fight against Akhmadallev, he change is fighting style to a counter-puncher which i think surprise the latter and never got the chance to adjust and this ultimately give the win to Tapales and who knows that he could surprise Inoue the same way he surprised Akhmadallev.

Power of Tapales might be underrated, but as you have said, he just toyed with Akhmadallev and counter him all night during their fight. And even though Tapales was caught several times, he has a good chin and then just used that counter very often that Akhmadallev become confused on the fight.

And the awkwardness of Tapales might be a plus for him in this fight. As Inoue is known to face technical fighters and so he is ready on what they are going to throw on him. But if Marlon is a very boxer that Inoue was expecting, it could be a very hard fight, just saying.

If Tapales will adjust more on that side, I mean to continue to practice and prepare for every possible attack and combination from Inoue
and also absorb those solid punches chances to win still possible.

Though on that same side were speaking about Inoue's power, that can only be concluded when they already facing each other.

Upset or a complete dominance from Inoue, either way can take place depending on what will be the outcome of the fight.

If both boxers are good, they would ensure that they undergo thorough training before the actual fight. However, we are no longer discussing their work ethics since they have already become champions. What we are currently doing is comparing their skills and talent in boxing, where it's very evident that Inoue has a significant advantage.

Let's assess Tapales before he became a champion. Wasn't he just an ordinary boxer? On the other hand, if we evaluate Inoue, he has already made a name for himself in the sport of boxing. Yes, upsets are possible, but in this fight, the chance is very slim for Tapales—no disrespect intended.
