741  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: October 04, 2017, 12:51:17 PM
As an Atlanta Hawks fan, good thing they traded Dwight Howard.

He is not the Howard during his Magic days. This is one of the player who's talent gone to waste.

He should have stayed in Lakers when he was traded their because at that time, the Lakers will building around a team with him and Kobe. And I read that once Kobe has retired he will take as the main man for the Lakers. Imagine his name with the likes Shaq, Kareem and other all time Center greats of Lakers. However, it seems that he and Kobe has a beef or something and he choose to move out. Now he is like a journey man, and putting himself to a position not to win a ring in his career. And for me, once he decided to moved out of Lakers, his career is gone. Evident as what we are seeing in him today.

The thing is it's an attitude problem. And yes, this one's the hardest one to fix.

@ontopic, looks like the new HOU is much more oiled and smooth this season.

Once again, I think that is so boring.
I have a feeling the warriors will lose in the west finals, I'm rooting for the Spurs to beat them.

Kinda rooting too, but since they've got no significant additions, we'll be looking at how their core players improved throughout the off-season. I'd like to see more of Kawhi playing on another level.
743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: September 28, 2017, 01:49:56 PM
Warriors has inborn superstars unlike Cavs and other teams. GSW train their players well like Steph Curry, Klay thompson and Green, They just upgraded into beast that's why they become super team. Kevin durant just join them because he wants a championship. One thing I can say, Warriors is not a superteam that star players unite just for money. They are bond with teamwork and determination.

Well, look at Lebron's Miami back then. Only Wade was the homegrown star in there back then.
744  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: September 26, 2017, 01:00:02 PM
BREAKING: The Bulls and Dwayne Wade have reached an agreement on a buyout.
Cleveland, San Antonio and Miami are leaders for Dwayne Wade post-Bulls buyout. OKC can become a factor on this too.

I would love to see Wade and Lebron together again, but the thought of him going to OKC and joining the MVP, PG13 and Carmelo its scary.
Cant wait to see where he signs.

While that would bring back Miami Heat memories, Wade is just too far from peak already to make a significant difference, even if he joined OKC.
745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: September 24, 2017, 10:21:39 AM
The thunder turned this:
Enes Kanter, Sabonis, Oladipo, Mcdermott and a second round pick for Carmelo Anthony and Paul George. Very interesting move, would be really fun to watch this season.
Also, first Thunder game will be against the Knicks.

Man, there was so much potential for Oladipo. Why did they give them up for Anthony which was clearly already on the decline. IMO, they'll regret this.
746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to play gambling in a smart way? on: September 22, 2017, 02:52:34 PM
Control your emotions, don't let it conquer you. Also don't be greedy because you'll never beat the house. Just enjoy playing, don't take it seriously it is only a game especially it is not a source of living so don't always hope that you will win or even hitting the jackpot cause it is very rare to happen.

The key is play only with an amount you can afford to lose.  Smiley
747  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis Mining Bitcoin Case Study on: September 22, 2017, 02:44:07 PM
I am sorry for you to say that you will never ROI back with them unless you are one of them trying to grab attention and lure newbies in your website. It is because of the rising difficulty of Bitcoin mining which they cannot afford to pay you the same amount everyday. Even altcoin mining difficulty is going up every 2 weeks or 1 month now and they can't pay you there also the same amount every day as your first days. Next there is electricity fee and maintenance fee which they will remove from your daily payment. I think these are enough reasons why investing in Genesis Mining is and was not worth even before.

Well that was already the situation way back then. I'm not even sure how Genesis keeps their services up in this environment.
748  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's your predictions for the 30th of September on: September 22, 2017, 12:30:02 PM
There is still huge support for bitcoin at near $3000 and if this support can't remain there after closure of BTCC by end of September, than price might head to $2400-$2500. I don't think price can go below $2.5k anytime soon and news regarding closure of chinese trading platform have already shown huge effect when price was above $4k.

Today's dump was from chinese whales which might continue for next few days.

~$3000ish. Chinese players cashing out wouldn't be felt all of a sudden. So I suppose a steady fall in value would occur in the coming months.
749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: September 22, 2017, 12:22:43 PM
There's now a slight clear path on where Carmelo Anthony will landed.

As expected and as far as all rumors is pointing out, Houston Rockets is the closest team that maybe he will landed. If that will happen, I don't know who's Rockets player will be put on trades. No doubt, even their caliber players that help Rockets reached their strongpoint at recent playoffs will be placed on trades. Another good lineup will be wrecked because of the incoming superstar. Hope that it will be a nice move for the Rockets.

Clear path? Carmelo Anthony on Houston Rockets? Hmm why they do they have to do this trade just for him. Yes they've got a good line up and someone will just wrecked their game play. Why there's a push for Melo but well the management is the one to decide for their own team. Also it can maybe a part of their marketing for their franchise, I'm not judging their move but let's see.

Not a 100% clear but slight of it.

This coming Monday is the expected date of Carmelo Anthony's trade and like I said, only Houston Rockets is the team that mostly out on the rumors. Let's wait next week for an update. Hope that no delay will happened.

IMO, it's not much of an upgrade. It's the same as what happened with Wade going to Chicago. Heck Wade is a lot better than Melo. The names just generates a lot of buzz.
750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does China hate Bitcoin? on: September 22, 2017, 12:17:59 PM
The chinese government is actively cracking down on anything, that will allow its wealthy citizens to get wealth out of the country. Bitcoin, is obviously a great tool for this, and is therefore an enemy of the communist party.
It is not the Chinese that hates bitcoin it is the Chinese government, they are very greedy they don't want bitcoin because they cannot control it and since they cannot control it they will not know if how much money is their Chinese people earning to it, their people  can avoid to pay taxes because of the anonymity of users and they really hate it.

This is not true. Chinese government doesn't hate Bitcoins and it's not about the money, they simply wanted to introduce the regulation. Ok, they haven't done that in the best possible manner but regulation doesn't mean centralization of Bitcoins what some users think and doesn't necessary have to be wrong or do harm to Bitcoin.

Well they should've formed the regulations before enforcing them. What seemed to happen was they enforced them first without the actual rules established yet.
751  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Physical debit cards on: September 20, 2017, 02:07:04 PM
You know, I'd recommend against these physical debit cards. If you're gonna do local purchases, just fiat. Otherwise, use virtual debit cards and load them as necessary. It's not safe to keep btcs without access to the private keys.
752  Economy / Speculation / Re: Welcome back $4xxx bitcoin! on: September 20, 2017, 01:48:51 PM
after the weak hands were flushed out for yet another time and whales took their coins out of their hands it is time for the FUD to go away and as we see it has. and with it the price recovered and we are heading back to normal prices after the correction.

i also want to congradulate those who bought the dip they are now enjoying nearly $1100 profit for every coin they bought.

Yeah the FUD went away and the bulls came back strongly.

The media seems to be portraying bitcoin in a positive light once again and that is one of the main reasons of this pump. China is still trading far lower than exchange rates on bitfinex, kraken etc.(western ones), dragging the overall price down just below $4000.

We should expect $4k to turn into a nice floor soon, instead of a resistance right now.

The crash probably was due to Chinese firms trying to cash out. IMO they're not done yet, so it'll still be better to expect the worst.
753  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Hashnest going to survive? What do you think? on: September 18, 2017, 01:12:52 PM
I had two investments on Hashnest, one for bitcoin and the other for litecoin. Yesterday evening I read here on bitcointalk that China wants to close its p2p network. Today I decided to sell the GHs (for bitcoin) and MHs (for litecoin) from Hashnest and withdraw them. I was certain for a long time that Hashnest will survive, now I do not know what to say. What is your opinion on this, had I done a mistake by withdrawing all I had on Hashnest before China closes its p2p network?
Is Hashnest going to survive if China does this? What alternative could I use instead of Hashnest for mining?

IMO, there's no alternative. And looking at how things are so unstable with China and BTCBTCBTC right now, I think you made the most logical move.
754  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Bitmain pulling an exit scam? on: September 18, 2017, 01:10:06 PM
I've tried contacting them on their zendesk support system and emailing them and have even tried calling both their U.S. and Chinese phone numbers and have been repeatedly blown off and ignored. At this point I am 90% sure they scammed (everything seems to point in that direction) and will probably be reporting this as an international scam to the FBI and FTC as it seems like the only course of action left at this point.

I'd suggest to wait a bit for a response e-mail before proceeding. Set an ultimatum. I know they're a reputable company so at least give them a chance.

If all else fails, it'll be better to search and contact fellow buyers and act as a group.
755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: September 18, 2017, 11:56:44 AM

Well i think there might actually be changes in the east. True that no compietition but stars have already transfered to other teams Brook is now at the lakers and howard is at charlotte. Plus the trade is not yet finished so many could change. Bulls may have lost butler but there is also lavigne who can be a threat in the frontcourt.

Lavine is too young to be much of a threat. Besides, he's more of an exhibition star and is not consistent in delivering extra quality performance every game.
756  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: there is any market place like fiverr that uses bitcoin? on: September 17, 2017, 12:32:16 AM
I'd vouch for Xbtfreelancer, I've used them once for a job and yes the transaction went through smoothly.
757  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bearish market on: September 16, 2017, 02:14:44 PM
May be all this situation with China restrictions will be a good thing for Bitcoin in long period. Bitcoin depends on China miners/markets/news too much for now.

In the long term, yes. This will temporarily stifle the Chinese markets and crypto sector. That will allow the US, Japan and others to increase their respective market shares in regards to trading (spot and derivatives).

However, there is a twist here. Bitmain is the largest chip manufacturer in the industry. They just stopped taking BTC payments (payable internationally). Now they are only accepting CNY payments. They didn't accept CNY payments previously.

That means two things. Mining may become even more centralized within China because international customers can no longer pay in BTC. It also means that, for the time being, the only way to legally invest CNY into BTC is to buy mining hardware. It creates a very interesting situation, and I'm not sure exactly what it means for the price.

Doesn't that also mean that there is a gap on the industry to meet the international demand for mining chips, that is, without converting going through the trouble of converting your money to CNY?

I'd say this is an opportunity for another company to step up and grab the lion's share.
758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: September 16, 2017, 02:08:07 PM
2016/17 nba season for me the power house golden states warrios.with adition of kevin durant i think no one team beat the gsw.i think next season gsw is the power house team

Kevin Durant was added before last season and he did a great job for the team and made various good players for the entire past season. If they will still play the same then GSW can be considered as a powerhouse team but there are some other teams that has good roster too. And one thing that not all the time GSW will be on the top but maybe this is their moment.
I agree with you mate and I am also seeing the Thunder Roster for this season remember they got the NBA Seasons MVP and Paul George. I am also following the rosters of Celtics, Rockets and the most Rookie Team in the NBA right now the Los Angeles Lakers, remember they have some potential stars in the NBA right now, they have Ingram, Russell, Clarkson and this year's No. 2 Pick Lonzo Ball. I am seeing their potential in the hard court this season and the coming seasons in the NBA.

In a few more seasons mate. At this point there's not much veteran on the team to guide these budding stars. They should get one IMO.
759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The DEATH of Bitcoin Surfaces Again on: September 16, 2017, 02:06:31 PM
At this point, I doubt if it's ever gonna create a major panic like it did way back 2013-2014.
760  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Btcpop P2P Bitcoin Bank on: September 16, 2017, 06:58:41 AM
Does BTCpop work exactly like Bitbond in that BTC is merely used to transfer value globally but it is instantly converted to fiat on the other end (if I'm lending), the interest is paid back in fiat and then transferred immediately back to me in BTC for re-lending?

This essentially makes it a global crowd fund platform that can ignore BTC volatility for the most part.

Hi, I wanted to know this too. What collateral do you guys approve of? And what's the average interest rates for loans of maybe, paid within 30 days?

Experience from other borrowers from this forum is also highly appreciated.
