1703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The AsicBoost 'dilemma' on: May 16, 2016, 02:10:01 PM
I dont see why this should be blocked anymore than ASICs were. If it works then eventually everyone will use this process and "standard" ASICs would be obsolete. Just like FPGAs, GPUs and CPUs.

Yes, but currently no one is required by law to pay another party to be able to mine.
No one to my knowledge pays patent rights to ASIC companies or any other miner manufacturer.
They only pay to buy the product and there is not an additional payment for right to use over time.

If the patent is approved, then the issue becomes, in the future no one can properly
compete unless they pay for a right to use this superior technology (this is speculative).
Only those who have the money and resources will be able to purchase it. Of course, the company
can release it for free use, after their patent, but this is not likely and will ultimately lead to a new
tech race which will result in even more centralized mining, if not bringing creating the final few.

Good point. I guess I was focused more on the tech than the idea of a patent.

It won't necessarily translate to a few people/companies are the only ones able to mine. Once the patent got approved, should they decided to sell the rights to use the tech to ASIC companies, these companies will simply pass the costs to their end-users, us miners and the huge mining organizations. In the end everyone gets to upgrade, and the situation would stay the same as it is now.
1704  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will transaction fees be like once no more BTC can be mined? on: May 16, 2016, 03:17:19 AM
Fees i think would be adjusted and I think they will do this after halving to balance and keep the miners mining. Or else it would be the start of bitcoin to gradually stop and may be replaced by newer and sophisticate coin. There are good alternatives anyway and so the path of btc depends to the devs where they'd had to solve issues for the future.

I don't think it needs to be adjusted manually to fit the miners, in fact the fees market already adjusts for itself. We're seeing fees higher than they were a few years ago, because the number of transactions exploded and each wants to be processed faster over the other. In a few more years, we'll probably see around ~0.001BTC more or less of fees just to get the transaction processed in the first hour.

Hover over the email address, you'll see it's a scam/phishing attempt. I can see it's from blockchain.lnfo, it's L not i.

These are the same with paypal phishing attempts. Be careful with these.
1706  Economy / Auctions / Re: C.A.T. CryptoCurrency Automatic Trader Auction 0.30 Reserve Price on: May 14, 2016, 03:01:45 PM
ok thanks for the explanation. if you haven't sold the core yet after 3 days, i will probably buy it, please send me a PM to remind me after 3days Smiley

question, why yobit isn't free? i saw in his thread that yobit is free right?

Yes it's free, however as I was planning to trade in it in the future I got my API activated for Yobit (and TheRockTrading too). The thing is Sampey requires 0.15BTC for an API change for the free exchanges. Hence in order for the buyer to trade at Yobit and TRT he/she must pay the API change fees.

If you aren't looking to trade at Yobit or TheRockTrading then you don't need to pay the API change fees to Sampey.
1707  Economy / Auctions / Re: C.A.T. CryptoCurrency Automatic Trader Auction 0.30 Reserve Price on: May 14, 2016, 10:07:30 AM

Min. bid increment 0.01BTC.

The auction will run for 3 more days. Thanks!
1708  Economy / Auctions / Re: C.A.T. CryptoCurrency Automatic Trader Auction 0.30 Reserve Price on: May 14, 2016, 10:04:42 AM
will i get full support from sampey if i buy your core + license? im thinking to buy C.A.T but i just want to make sure first on the benefits

Yes as I quote from the official thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=507103.msg5590877#msg5590877

Quote from: sampey
- Refunds are not possibile (C.A.T. is not an hardware). However reselling C.A.T. is allowed, and the buyer will receive the same level of support as if they had bought C.A.T. from me personally.
- If you buy a copy from another C.A.T. user, I'm not responsible for any kind of problems. I will only change the nickname from "olduser" to "newUser" in my C.A.T. Users List.

Basically I would give you the download link to the core program then PM sampey to transfer my name on his user list to yours and remove my APIs. After I confirm the transfer you would also then PM him your APIs for activation of any of the free exchanges except Yobit and TheRockTrading if you wish to use C.A.T. on these.

If you wish to use C.A.T. on paid exchanges (BittrEX, Polo, BTer, BitFINEX, BitStamp), you would pay sampey the corresponding API activation fees on his thread.

So basically you would get here C.A.T. minus the free APIs for Yobit/TheRockTrading as these would cost you 0.15BTC each for activations.
1709  Economy / Auctions / Re: C.A.T. CryptoCurrency Automatic Trader Auction 0.30 Reserve Price on: May 14, 2016, 02:17:54 AM
I kinda need the cash fast, so I'm lowering the reserve at 0.25BTC

So what would the total cost to someone who wanted to trade the same way as you?

I only traded at Trex, I planned to trade at Yobit too that's why I got the license activated but never got to use it. If you plan to trade at Trex, at the reserve price of 0.25BTC it's gonna be 0.40BTC since Trex has 0.15BTC license fees from Sampey. The same if you'd wanna trade at Polo.

If you'd buy a new license that would be 0.5BTC + 0.15BTC = 0.65BTC from Sampey. It's 0.25BTC cheaper.

If you wanna buy my license, I don't recommend trading at Yobit and TheRockTrading as it's gonna cost you 0.15BTC each for the licenses. All free licenses are still FREE (Cryptomic, Cex.io, C-CEX, Vaultoro).

From what I can see and from all the fees you've restated above, the CAT license + all the fees would add up to Sampeys original cost of 0.5, maybe higher.

It's a lot cheaper if you don't plan on trading on Yobit/TheRockTrading.

As much as I hate Westbrook for all the trash talk that he has done, he really played with heart on that last game. I wonder how the Spurs would respond, I'm thinking they're gonna feed Aldridge the ball more often.

This next game would be exciting odds-wise.  Grin Grin Grin

The Spurs looked very slow, old and tired as if they couldn't keep up with the Thunder and maybe that's the case. If the Thunder win the series I think it's time for Manu & Duncan to retire and they should even part ways with Parker too...

I saw that in the last game. OKC got it, maybe it's time for the Spurs to overhaul, center their lineup with Aldridge and Kawhi, these guys got the athleticism too.
1711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin IS basically DESTROYED on: May 12, 2016, 10:17:11 AM
Well it's obvious that China owns most if not all of the hashing power in the world and that Bitcoin mining has basically become centralized but do you think the Chinese government might try to exert control over all the mining farms in order to mess with the Bitcoin network? I hope China realizes that tinkering with the network or trying to strong-arm changes in the core client that will favor miners more may cause an irreparable damage to the Bitcoin market.

What else is new, China control almost everything nowadays - manufacturing, territory, even BTCBTCBTC mining. Although I don't think they won't control something like that. I haven't heard of the Chinese government taking control companies as of yet - like if they would, I think they'd prioritize companies like Alibaba.
1712  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin go to $500 on: May 12, 2016, 02:31:29 AM
There is a chance this will even happen this month because its now already close to it, its around the 450 and from now on it can go very fast.
I hope at the end of this month it will happen.

Yes even I have the same feeling that now we are close to achieve that value, price is moving up slowly so we can expect this price by the end of the month.

By June I suppose. I find this stability and slow upwards movement really good as compared to sudden rise and falls.
1713  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin on: May 12, 2016, 02:29:31 AM
There are not a lot of merchants accepting it as payment. I doubt if there are more than 10 people I personally know who has a bit of knowledge about BTC. It would still take a while before people will embrace BTC as an alternative currency which they could use as payment and investment, as well.

If you'd use BTCBTCBTC powered debit cards that wouldn't be much of a problem anymore.

@ontopic It's the slow confirmations for me, luckily I just use BTCBTCBTC for online purchases but what if it's for an offline merchant, it'll be awkward waiting for 'a few more confirmations.'

Hi,

I'm selling my copy of C.A.T. for personal reasons, there was a sudden need for cash so yeah, here it is.

C.A.T. has been consistently bringing 0.03-0.05 profits per week for me. Here's a screenshot of it running from a VPS.

This auction is for the core program, the buyer has to buy the exchange licenses from the developer, Sampey, to trade at paid exchanges (Polo, BittrEX). The buyer also has to pay the API reactivation fees (0.15BTC) if they would want to trade at YoBit and The RockTrading, as I also traded there before.

You are free to trade at the other free exchanges like cryptomic, c-cex, cex.io. They buyer will receive a lifetime license.

For more info, please take a look at: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=507103.0

Min BID: 0.25BTC
Min BID increment: 0.01BTC
Reserve price: 0.30BTC
Auction will last for 7 days. After that I will PM the winner for transfer details.

Thank you!

I'm seeing lots of those who haven't bought from the ETH ICO think this is their golden opportunity. Not to break the excitement but I kinda don't think this is it.  Smiley

The final score game 3 Portland Trail Blazers vs Golden State Warriors is 120-108. Wow Warriors lose with many points here. My bet over points is win but my Warriors spread is lose.

Portland bringing lots of energy and enthusiasm in the last game. Really means nothing against a Curry-less team in the long run but its good for them.

The thing is it showed that w/o Curry they're not too much of a championship caliber team. Now Spurs on the other hand, you've got Leonard, Aldridge, and the ever growing big three plus West.
