1481  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price drop on: August 11, 2016, 02:59:41 PM
I do not see any price drop at the moment. The price of bitcoin is very stable. It is preparing for the next rise.
its simply because the price is not dropping right now, i think it is soon going to grow a lot

it dropped only because of that stupid hack on finex, it will recover very quickly just a matter on when the next wave will begin, panic pump it's on its way

and I think a lot of people get carried away in panic by news bitfinex hack, so they sell their bitcoin.
to the current price of bitcoin has recovered, and soon returned to $600, maybe it could happen later this month.

That is my thoughts as well. I think the stability of the bitcoin price in the last few days indicates people are not panic.

In fact, the bitcoin price is quite stable now. The price is trading around $590 for a few days already.

Who would have thought that it would recover like that so easy. I guess this is the start of a new baseline is it?
1482  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will this rise hold? on: August 10, 2016, 10:47:29 AM
People and analysts say this is due to 'trader optimism.' IMO this is the aftermath of the halving, like this level would be the new baseline and movements around would be buffered accordingly.
1483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: DotA 2 discussion (The International 2016 prediction thread) on: August 10, 2016, 10:42:51 AM
TI6 Day 2 Standings! OG Eliminated by TnC  Shocked
Alliance vs Fnatic (BO3) 12 hours from now
Newbee vs Liquid (BO3) 15 hours from now
MVP.P vs Wings (BO3) 18 hours from now
EG vs EHOME (B03) 21 hours from now

Hi guys this is just my prediction but I don't have intention to bet with the games that coming from next few hours. I can't wait for the upcoming games I really want to see who is going to be the TI6 champion for this years biggest main event in DotA 2.

This would be the biggest upset ever in the history of Dota 2. Majors champs and previous TI champion ousted by new faces in the TI scene.
1484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US is auctioning $1.6 million on: August 10, 2016, 01:50:21 AM
A quick search shows that this was copied from http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSKCN10J1JP.

If you really want to get profits, use ads. Refs don't earn shit. Also, you'll get more if your content is unique.

Although yes, unique content is better, but you don't need that to thrive. Curation is a legitimate strategy.

@ontopic, is this still the same auction for the btcs seized from Silk Road?
1485  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to go to US$800+ on: August 07, 2016, 02:03:37 AM
yes bitcoin going to increase its too much faster and i hope that bitcoin will be increase its price to $800+ in the end of 2016 and i think bitcoin never dropped its price .
i hope that you are right, i hope that next year the new all time high in price will be achieved really easily, i think bitcoin is going to be bigger and bigger with time

The Bitfinex exchange was hacked and lost about 120k coins. There is big price drop in the last 24 hours.
don't afraid too much about that issues, buble will come directly for a while so i think we have a time to make a profit since the signal on the chart showing would up.
there is no bubble coming right now, the price is going to grow just because people will be rebuying their bitcoins and bubble would mean that the price will drop again

It's slowly creeping up, so I suppose we'd regain the price drop lost from the recent BitFinex hack. Hopefully the price would pull through even further.
1486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Bitfinex Hacked] So , learned the lesson ? on: August 07, 2016, 01:20:22 AM
Wow... they are now socializing losses to all asset holders. This is not a smart move for Bitfinex. Previously, all bitcoin wallets were segregated, so it was clear whose assets were stolen. Under bailment theory, that means Bitfinex must return assets to their rightful owners and consider assets lost as lost.

US law does not see this socialized loss scenario as valid. It's not like liquidation in bankruptcy, because this does not contemplate ranking of creditors. I smell litigation ensuing.

True, socialized loss for customers is never good. In the end the company gets the profits but their customers shoulder the losses? These guys should be sued.

BitFinex should shoulder the losses, along with its investors. It's their business, not ours.
1487  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoins price is rising again on: August 06, 2016, 04:02:30 PM
If Bitcoin went to $500 I would probably buy two coins ASAP,
because I'm sure the price would go back up to $600 or $700 within a year.

I think its more likely to continue to go up, slowly, to $700 by the start of 2017.
Then, make sure you have some spare fiat to get in, as there will be definitely some bumps on the road.
A first deeper pull back may be a good entry opportunity.
And did you manage to catch some sub $500 Bitcoins? The opportunity came quicker than you might have expected, I bet.

The volume below $500 was quite low. So not many people have got cheap bitcoins. Even $550 is cheap.

I think so. I have taken the advantage of the recent price drop and have bought some bitcoin recently.

Every spike is an opportunity in this market. It's not much of a dip now, the price is recovering slowly. I'm really hoping there'd still be a bull market for most of August, it's time we feel further the effects of the halving.
1488  Economy / Speculation / Re: Kim Dotcom Predict 2000$ per Bitcoin ??!! on: August 06, 2016, 03:59:19 PM
I suppose it's a competitor for Storj? Fair competition is always good for any environment. I don't see how the price would spike up to $2000 by that alone though.
1489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Off-Season on: August 05, 2016, 05:16:20 PM
I'm really rooting for Russell and OKC this year.

Watching them eliminate Golden State would be historically epic and great.

KD might be a better player, but Russell have 10 times the heart and passion.

Also back then, there are lots of trade rumors which includes Russel Westbrook but rumors said he turned down all offers and decided to stay with OKC. No money involved, it's just that he really want to stay.

Hopefully all his teammates wil give all of their best not just Westbrook alone.

Well I suppose he wants other stars to team up with him, instead of him teaming up with the other stars. Seems to me he's aiming to get the alpha role for the Thunder.
1490  Other / Off-topic / Re: How long you in bitcoin world? on: August 05, 2016, 05:14:50 PM
I started mining bitcoin in 2013, only use the graphics cards. Then I mine altcoins and buy bitcoins.

2013, by then a few alts took my attention, and was with them till 2014. After the ups and downs, I was back to BTCBTCBTC.
1491  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex - How much have you lost there? on: August 03, 2016, 03:17:42 AM
This event is actually good for above 650 USD long opened positions.  They already had lose on paper.

So 100% loss is better than 30% loss? I like the way you think

No. Bitcoin was actually headed there for a flash crash. Too many longs.

Didn't exchange in there but this theft is causing the price crash, so indirectly I've lost a lot too.

The question now is how low can this go, because surely these stolen btcs will continously be fed into the market.
1492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton Pledges Support for Blockchain on: August 01, 2016, 08:11:05 AM
most probably just a promize. it would be great to have it supported though, if banks could use the technology for their transactions, there would be less corrupt politicians and so i don't think the local politician nor the senate may even support.

Well we all know it's just a statement to get in touch and probably get the vote of the community. Hilary is backed by Wall Street, and we know the Blockchain is disruptive to most, if not all of them.

Wish Sanders would have gotten support, but seems he couldn't beat America's elite.
1493  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin prize is dropping? on: July 31, 2016, 03:15:29 PM
bitcoin price decreases. Current prices range between 635USD - 640USD. a substantial decline compared to previous day. there seems to be negative news makes less bitcoin enthusiasts. but I hope bitcoin can increase.

As far as I'm concerned there aren't any news to cause a drop. This is just the usual market patterns. We can't expect the price to just always rise can we.
1494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Off-Season on: July 31, 2016, 01:36:34 PM
Rubio is still young and he is a good point guard and good in defense due to his length that lacks in other point guard. Well, in order for us not to make a lot of argument here about his capability let us just watch him in the coming regular season.

The thing is scoring is what will make you a star in this league, and that's something Rubio has been lacking these past few seasons.
For the eyes of the many you will be a popular if you are a good scorer but when it comes to real basketball every placer has its unique role and in order for a team to progress you should stick to your role throughout the game. Rubio is another good example of a point guard who manage to make good plays down the stretch, if he is not good then he should be out of the team already.

Look at mike conley, this guy is underrated by makes history because of the contract he recently signed with the memphis.

That guy is way overpriced IMO. They could have gotten a few younger players to add to their squad. Their core is getting older season by season.
1495  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is investing in mining still worth it? on: July 31, 2016, 01:34:07 PM
Investing in cloud mining is never a good idea, most of the time they are ponzi schemes. If you're interested in mining then you could try mining altcoins. Minergate is a great site that offers different altcoins that are profitable to mine with your pc

Mining alts it just waste of time if you don't have a good GPU.

If you're gonna invest in Hashnest be sure to learn how to trade and predict markets too. It's never in buy-and-forget in there, you need to know when to sell your GH/s otherwise you won't reach ROI.
1496  Other / Off-topic / Re: What % of your Assets is Bitcoin? on: July 31, 2016, 01:25:22 PM
I am very interested in gradually increase my investment in bitcoin, but these days my assets in this coin are lower than 10%, and I have to admit that I am not mentally prepared to increase my worth of bitcoin because of its great volatility.

Well IMO, if you've bought way back then it's okay to let loose a portion of your BTCBTCBTC holdings. It's profit already. But if you're gonna buy to increase your percentages right now, you might wanna wait for the next drop first.

As for me, I've got about ~15-20%.

1498  Economy / Speculation / Re: When do you expect prices to fall on: July 31, 2016, 06:49:16 AM
I do not expect bitcoin fall, because I have had some bitcoin, and hope that after halving occurs at least continue to rise, despite the fact that the price of bitcoin is very stable in a long time, but I am still confident for at least I can see the price is $800-900 at the end of the year.
The fact that you are holding coins is not yet sufficient to keep it constantly rising. I wish it were so simple, but it is not.
What makes you think there will be no deeper dive on the way?

I'd say we've got scarcer supply now, so we'd be in deep trouble if the price dives deep into the sub-$300 territory. We'd probably see a drop within the August, but it won't go below ~$400 I hope.
1499  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any service selling US Amazon gift cards to foreigners? Has to be legit. on: July 30, 2016, 04:22:54 PM
If you can find international affiliates running Amazon associates program you can buy gift cards from them. Amazon can pay their affiliates via gift cards and I'm pretty sure these affiliates would go that route if they can get a buyer. Waiting for checks take forever.
1500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This Is Why I Love Gambling On Sports... on: July 30, 2016, 04:17:49 PM
It is definitely a smart way to gamble when you bet on sports and do research. You can increase your odds by using statistics rather than randomly selecting teams.

The thing is we get bias with our favorite teams, and it does cost us. Like for me, I like betting for my team even when the odds are against them. Most of the time I lose because of that.
