This conference finals sure make the point that the ball is round. Top finals contenders are pushed back on the wall. The finals would be really exciting.  Grin Grin
1682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MAY 22nd: World Bitcoin Pizza Day - Are you helping mass adoption ? on: May 24, 2016, 02:55:15 PM
I gave all my friends some Bitcoin to buy games on g2a and they were all very surprised at how easy it was to use. Unfortunately none of them liked it enough to start only using Bitcoin when shopping online.

Same case here. They were at first wowed by how BTCBTCBTC works, and how it can be used. But after that they wouldn't bother. One said 'Paypal is good enough for him.'  Smiley
1683  Other / Off-topic / Re: If i give you 10 BTC what will you do? on: May 22, 2016, 04:23:39 PM
I will cross my fingers and hold the coins.I'll wait for the  halving and dump all the coins.Happyyy life!!!

so you holding your bitcoin just for dump it ? but i think 10BTC not make any effect for bitcoin price if you dump it  Tongue

I don't think so you will dump that amount when you hold it. I believe on the halving, I wold probably do the same , hold for it and do nothing.
But watch for it to be doubled. Tongue

If you want to double your coins then go for gambling or trading as halving will not make your coins double, it will give you some profits for sure but don't expect too high.

At least when you're waiting for probably price increase because of the halving the risk of losing your coins would be like none at all as compared to gambling, or even trading.
1684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which Investment Type do you Prefer??? on: May 22, 2016, 09:37:48 AM
IMO I prefer running a site, something like a blog. It's kind of a medium-long term work but it pays off really well.
1685  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Be careful! E-Coin may be turning to a scam on: May 22, 2016, 04:11:03 AM
Is this confirmed? I've been using my debit card from e-coin for a while now, about 3-4 months I suppose, and there seems to be not much of a problem.

I use the card behind Paypal, and of course, I only load it when I need to pay for something.

1686  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin just hit $465 on: May 22, 2016, 04:04:26 AM
We will hit $500 by end of next week...$1300 by halving....brexit vote on June 23...if Britain leaves the Euro...bitcoin will hit $2000-$3000 by end of 2016.
The only thing that makes a tiny bit sense is that you say that the price will increase to $500 at the end of next (now this) week. All other things are pure fantasy

I am of the opinion that most Bitcoin holders are indeed buying and promoting Bitcoin for financial gain. So the more the price rises, the better it is for the end user of the bitcoins to take the advantages.

The thing is once they've had that gain they're aiming most would then cash out - and without the market buffer to break the fall the price they're so eager to watch rising would then spiral its way down. Then accumulation again. It's a cycle that everyone wants to profit in.

IMO it still looks stable at ~$440-450, so I think not much spikes till June.  Smiley
1687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2016 Play-Off Discussion on: May 22, 2016, 03:57:04 AM
good to see toronto make some sort of stand.

was starting to look like a boring blowout sweep. They will
prob lose in 5 games but at least they won one.

The Cavs, especially Kyrie was really off the hook. He can't make the shots. Last time I was watching he was 4/32 attempts. He held the Cavs down in scoring. I would love to see Kevin Love do more jump shots like he did way back in Minnesota, he was often > 40 points back then.
1688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is doing something on Bitcoin Pizza Day? May 22nd, 2016 on: May 22, 2016, 02:39:53 AM
no way im buying pizza!!

what if in 10 years bitcoin is worth 10k per bitcoin (positive thinking)
but you will be back at this thread crying like the others lol

learn from the past  Grin

What's the best way to celebrate bitcoin Pizza day if not for buying Pizza then?  Grin Grin Grin

1689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Ethereum ? on: May 21, 2016, 05:24:50 PM
Bitcoin seems to be the past and Ethereum the future.

The question is : when BTC will worth almost zero? Next year? In 2 years? Smiley

You didn't give much of a choice did you. The answer to this is 'time will tell.'

None of the ALTcoins stand a chance against Bitcoin. But I see a great future for Ethereum aswel because it has a good utilization but I see it very different than Bitcoin

You wouldn't know that. Just because btc is very much established now doesn't mean it's gonna last forever.
1690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2016 Play-Off Discussion on: May 21, 2016, 05:16:00 PM
I really think that raptors will not give up that easily. They will want to show off to their fans so they will score a lot of points in order to do this and will bring it into overtime. It is Saturday afternoon game so they have the energy and all late afternoon into early into the evening to do it. It is the May long weekend afterall so that brings up their spirits in Canada as well!  Grin
Only the mind of raptors does not give up but their body have gave up already, the way they play and if you analyze the squad of Raptors vs the Cavaliers, its just like a comparison of the NCAA vs NBA. It's just my opinion but I found it funny right now.

The Raptors have already played two game 7 series so that's already 14 games, as compared to 8 by the Cavs before coming into the series. You would have expected by this time that their bodies gonna give up at some point, as TOR's roster is not very deep.
1691  Other / Archival / Re: Have you ever make a donation with bitcoin? on: May 21, 2016, 05:13:23 PM
If you're in the mood for donations, you might want to donate at Sci-Hub. It's accessible via their IP for now since http://sci-hub.io looks down.

They're an organization trying to break down the 'pay-wall' knowledge barrier to scientific journals. As you can see research journals is a lucrative business for publishers, so giving these academic materials out to the public for free helps a LOT.

I'm donating every now and then, and I'm recommending you to do so too.  Grin Grin
1692  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the price go up or down over the next year? on: May 21, 2016, 01:02:33 AM
I do not know the price is not decided by the year, the price can go up a couple of times and go down a couple of times per year. So it is impossible to say if it just goes down or up the next year.

Its difficult to predict the exact scenario but I think the price will be higher then the current year, as halving is in this year which will take bitcoin to higher which will be followed even in next year.

Or it could fall down to about ~$350, as many would cash out right after they see a price hike. It'll go down and slowly rise again for the next halving cycle.
1693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2016 Play-Off Discussion on: May 20, 2016, 10:27:32 AM
Cleveland Cavaliers played wonderful again into 2nd game and got improve its lead by 2-0, i am quite sure it will continue with this momentum into next upcoming game against Toronto Raptors there, Cleveland Cavaliers looking more strong side at this stage and i am quite sure it will qualify to next round easily.

It's not just 2-0, they're already at 10-0, 1 win shy from the record by the Lakers. My if they would sweep TOR, they're in a really really good shape for the finals, they might even win it.  Smiley
1694  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price rise is over on: May 20, 2016, 10:26:03 AM
Big rise is soon expected. These days the price has been experiencing fluctuations and not a increase. With patience waiting for a increase as the halving is near within few months time. Though no one has exact prediction waiting till halving with hope is good.
I think we dont see any changes of the price these days but yesterday the price is down a bit from 460 to 440 and i think this price will stay until block halving.. and after block halving we will see the price change increased..
As long as we maintain prices of $440-$460 in the runup to the block halving then most people will be happy with it.

My guess is that after the block halving the price will remain fairly stable as there is not much left to drive the price into a certain direction this year.
I guess if after halving the price increases and stable. people will do the dump, because they has been buying and holding for halving, then if halving stable, their choice is dump.

If there was ever a price spike because of the halving it'll surely come down to even 3x the magnitude after the pump, come to think of it, if people didn't see a rise like they were expecting, everyone would just sell out and push the price down the drain.
1695  Other / Archival / Re: Do you have paypal account even though you have bitcoin? on: May 19, 2016, 01:26:58 PM
i can't believe that more than 70% have voted for yest on a bitcoin forum it is actually so funny to see this many still have paypal account.

p.s. i voted for used to because i no longer have or use bitcoin!

When you're doing business online, it's a necessity. Plus with the recent advent of bitcoin debit cards, you can link those two together. You can now purchase via PP using your BTCBTCBTC.
1696  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll: Bitcoin Halving. Will Price go up or price go down? on: May 19, 2016, 10:09:38 AM
The chance is higher that Bitcoin can reach a higher value and that is because it was already stable for a long time so there must be a time soon to rise and that would be nice.
But it is still hard to predict what is going to happen so we have just wait and see for what will happen.

We've been here before, although of course the price movements this time around would be different. IMO more likely the price would keep rising bit by bit till the month of the halving, then would jump like crazy before crashing down again after. A few months later we'll be down to where the price was 4 months ago. The cycle would then go again for the next 4 years.  Grin

1697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2016 Play-Off Discussion on: May 19, 2016, 06:25:37 AM
The final score Golden State Warriors vs Oklahoma City Thunder is 118-91. Well, i also expected Warriors win on games 2 and Warriors success covered the handicap too.

Let's see what happens when OKC takes this game at home, I'm guessing it'll be 2-2 after the home stretch, and might even push to game 7.  Smiley
1698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Theymos: “Bitcoins Belonging to Satoshi Should Be Destroyed” on: May 19, 2016, 06:24:20 AM
Another historical example that comes to mind is the Great Depression. A large fraction of banks failed in the U.S., with depositors losing all their money. In the aftermath of that disaster safeguards such as the FDIC were instituted, insuring the funds of individuals in bankrupt banks so that people no longer lost their savings when a bank went under.

Despite this extremely successful safeguard, for the rest of their lives huge numbers of people flat out refused to entrust banks with their savings. I was a financial planner for a bit back in the early 90's and heard many accounts of how older people who remembered that era were still, right up to the 90's, refusing to trust the banks or deal with them.

So the notion that a QC breach and subsequent theft of a million or millions of bitcoins would be a transient event strikes me as completely contrary to historical example on two counts. On the contrary I think it would deeply scar people's psyches, even if they rationally "knew" that the issue had been fixed with new algorithms, etc.

Well in this case, theft of the contents of that wallet will probably lead to in the worst case, the death of btc. I'm not talking about releasing millions of BTCBTCBTC in the market I meant the trust over bitcoin's security. IMO that wallet's private key is long lost and in the case a theft would occur it would mean there's a loophole in the network.
1699  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin going Up to 500? on: May 18, 2016, 05:23:06 PM
This is all speculation, but a $500/BTC is not so far, I think by the time the halving is near, the price will begin to rise maybe $5/day and it will surpass the $600 by the day of halving. I think people will try to accumulate bitcoin expecting a big rise in preice and their rush will be exactly the cause of that rise.

And after the halving hype it'll go way down the same pattern, probably even $10-$15 per day, as everybody cashes out.  Embarrassed Embarrassed

It's a cycle, and by now everyone's familiar with that. The game now is knowing when to pull out of the market.
1700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2016 Play-Off Discussion on: May 18, 2016, 05:19:26 PM
Before the first game I said OKC Thunder has a chance of getting 1 of 2 away games in Golden State. Now they won first game I expect Warriors to win this game. They (and NBA organisation) won't let this serie to go 0-2, so it's an easy choice for me. I don't know about handicaps, I'll play straight money line bet.

I believe a 2-0 in favor of OKC would be really risky too, but hey, they knocked out the Spurs, and they still have the momentum going on, so IMO it's worth it to go for that risk.  Smiley
