1621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone tried Bitcoin Betting Website ? on: June 09, 2016, 01:45:00 PM
Had a look at the site, It looks fun. Although the domain looks shady. I never liked TLDs like that.

I'd probably wait for more people here to weigh in their experiences first before I try it myself.
1622  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin rise up to 800$ this year ? on: June 09, 2016, 10:49:28 AM
yes I think there are chances to let the bitcoin rise to a higher amount this year, another thing is that 800 dollar is not really far from the 500 dollar right ?

nope is not
here are lot of talking that price will hard jump over 800 on the moment of halving and that price will go down after that
800 is for me stable price after halving and for the record this price is good to

IMO it'll be stable only for a short time. After the halving, we could expect the buy support to crash because of the volume of people who would cash out.
1623  Economy / Speculation / Re: is it time to sell? on: June 08, 2016, 06:03:49 PM
As we are waiting for the halving in the month of July, maybe that is not a good time to sell, unless you have a need of more urgent money. In fact I always prefer to have bitcoins with me. My bitcoins already valued more than an apartment.

Around how much is that? I already sold a little of mine. Sooner or later there'll be a correction anyway. Might as well buy at that. I hope.
1624  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you buying bitcoins? Why? on: June 08, 2016, 11:10:22 AM
I am not buying bitcoins just now because to be honest I am not really sure if they are a good investment. I have bought them in the past, but the timing was not the best because soon after I bought them, their value crashed and I was at a loss. So it's more wait and see now.
Would you mind telling us at what price your entry point was? Didn't you consider buying again when the price started to climb back up? Different emotions play different roles in helping us decide whether to buy, hold, or sell.

Probably he did at the peak, around $1000 I guess. I remember those times, I too, was tempted to buy. Lucky enough it did crash before I was able to.

@ontopic I've bought when it was still ~250ish, that's the last time I've bought directly.
1625  Economy / Speculation / Re: Another Friday with a BIG Pump on: June 08, 2016, 01:55:30 AM
So what are you thinking for this Friday, My prdiction is that it will definitely bring a big profit and I think now the price will reach to about $670.
what is your prediction?

Well hold your horses there - there may be a pattern, but don't forget that if we pass 600$ so early prior to the halving the "test the waters" thingy is expected and I don't think it will go straight to 670$. Maybe it will remain around 600$. As closer to the halving we are, I think, that every 50$ steps are gonna be tested for a couple of days, maybe a week before jumping again. So if we manage to float around 600$, the next expected price is 650$ - 50$ is not a small step so no need for a big leap or there will be a pop for sure...

And after that a huge drop. We've been here in the past. What matters now is our reaction, and how we judge the right time for the sell so we can buy off at the drop. For now, let's wait and see.
1626  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016 NBA Finals on: June 08, 2016, 01:52:17 AM
Cavaliers may win this match but I have serious doubts that now Golden State Warriors will let any space for it to tie the series.Cavaliers need to wins to tie where as Warriors needs one match to be good. This match isn't clear for me but now chances are unspeakably lower for Cavaliers come back in the series.

It's more than likely that the Cavs would win. Even statistics say so, the Warriors lost the third game in their past four playoff series and five of the past six. Although, we all know if GSW wins this they're champs already.

Guys please remove the re-captcha on the 2FA authentication page. Sucks when I have to go do it over and over again. Once on the login page is enough.  Smiley
1628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone just found a block solo mining on an Amazon EC2 Server on: June 07, 2016, 01:04:23 PM
This is not solo mining. It actually is a new bitcoin mining pool, we just use AWS EC2 as a relay node. our main server was in china. currently, we are still in testing our mining pool, the website is not accessible.

This solves it up. Care to share more info on your mining pool? Like, are you ever gonna go public?
1629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PH is now considering Bitcoin on: June 07, 2016, 10:49:40 AM
I'm glad that the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas ( Central Bank of the Philippines ) is now considering the use of bitcoin.  And I'm sure it will be implemented soon here in our country.
You may read the whole article below.
http://interaksyon.com/business/128696/ph-now-a-major-player-on-virtual-currency-usage---bsp-exec

The article says that the Central Bank will consider the regulation of virtual currencies. But regulation is very large. If you will go at this page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country you will find to many countries which have regulated bitcoin and no one have equals. In other word there are 50 different regulations. And no one has accepted bitcoin as currency. Philipines speak about full regulation. Let see how will finish. But I am very skeptical.
In most, if not all countries where the use of Bitcoin is oermitted, banks are not allowed to use or offer Bitcoin based products to their customers.

So if the Philipines fully regulate it, their banks could be the first bank to integrate Bitcoin as a currency?

Well there are ways for people to 'deposit' funds into a bank account using bitcoin already in the Philippines, but full integration? I suppose not. Probably bitcoin would be categorized in the same way like any other virtual funds (Paypal, DragonPay etc).
1630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016 NBA Finals on: June 07, 2016, 01:58:29 AM
As expected GSW won game 2 and splash brother isn't at their best but look GSW won by a 33pts margin. It is finals but the margin is so big, even 10margin is big for a final match. OKC vs GSW is more fun to watch than this. If thats their kinda play that they will show in their house(cavs). For sure there is no game7 in this series. Im a GSW fan but im disappointed on how CAVS have been playing. IMO Blatt is a better coach than Lue and Lebron is better when he was in MIA.
We are about to witness in game 3 & 4 the revenge of the king, remember that they are playing well at home this playoffs. Almost all of the their opponents loss with a big margin played at cleveland home. If the cavaliers will win in game 3 then my trust with them will be back.

IMO, the first team to win an away game would be the one to win the championships. So if the Cavs lose a home game it's all over for them.  Smiley
1631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016 NBA Finals on: June 06, 2016, 12:36:55 AM
Cleveland Cavaliers @ Golden State Warriors like i said before still believe this year is for cleveland and i will try to bet with a risk get lose. cleveland +7
But they won't beat them twice in a row and them being @home I don't believe they can!  Wink

Yeah you right. Play at Cavaliers's home is really a big advantage, Cavaliers +7 points should be good. I think Cavaliers can covered the handicap +7 points.

GSW still has the momentum though, even if Curry's been out of form for like most of the past games. Kyrie looks out of playing form in the last game too. Let's see about this in game 2, I'm with the Cavs as well.
1632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Egyptian police arrest a man for trading bitcoin on localbitcoin on: June 05, 2016, 08:12:33 AM
did i undertood that right?
The guy was selling some bitcoins, the buyer(police) ask for a meeting and he goes?

If i were in localbitcoins selling some, i would never go to a meeting... the whole point of this is anonymity.

Well the whole point of LocalBTC was to trade with actual people, via meetups and the like. If you're buying and doing it all online you can just buy direct from an exchange.
1633  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Safe wallet for a newbie on: June 02, 2016, 05:49:13 PM
I use Blockchain's wallet from the start up to now. Never ran into problems. I use 2FA, and second passwords in the wallet to keep it secure. I'd recommend you also do so if you plan on using online wallets.
1634  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Muslim Bitcoiner on: June 02, 2016, 11:18:37 AM
Is interest against Muslim rule?
Will you make interest free loan?

That won't happen with everyone. Some exceptions might be there because I have seen few Islamic banks in UAE, which won't pay interest for our saving but provides loan and cards with the interest.

Talk about business. Isn't that playing the rules for their benefit?

I always get nervous trading with names like Muhammad for fear of it being terrorist shit... not to be racist or anything.

Seems to me you've been heavily influenced by media.
1635  Economy / Speculation / Re: Going to bed, will BTC be $500 or $300 when I wake up? on: June 01, 2016, 09:28:14 AM
Saying the true I'm happy to see that the price is keeping increasing doesn't matter even if it is few dollars, at least to see the green color on the charts Smiley, but i don't think the price will be changed to $500 within a night.

Only on the halving night $500 can be felt within a night. At present the scenario has changed from long time stable price. So we can expect a good price at the time of halving. Only small gradual rise will help in a stabilized growth than the peak.

Even on the halving night the price wont reach 500 i think it will only take place after the halving in a week or two weeks we will feel more the price increase.
It is really hard to know what the value will be of the Bitcoin and there is a chance that it can change in that fast time but you know that the value of the Bitcoin is not reducing.
And it is stable already for a long time so maybe next year the value will rise and can we have some profit.

For now at least we know that it's gonna rise a bit more, since it's the halving season. After that, as we've seen from the past we should expect a  drop. At least that's my forecast for the next few months.
1636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: rarity of Bitcoin a bad thing? on: June 01, 2016, 02:07:40 AM
-snip-
The total number of coins is totally irrelevant to the argument, since the same potential effect would occur with a higher number of coins, only at a lower per-coin purchasing power. What's relevant only is that the total number of coins is limited.

ya.ya.yo!
I feel like this is the best explanation and I can second that. If bitcoin was set up to has 100 millions of coins people would ask:" why not 200 or 500 millions?".
After all there is more than 7 billions people on earth, let's create more BTC for everyone.

The thing is - we don't need to own full btc, and maybe in the future when price of BTC will reach some really high numbers one Satoshi will be worth more than 1 cent not?

With a huge fraction of the coins ghosted, it's even rarer and more limited than you think.

1637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016 NBA Finals on: June 01, 2016, 02:02:19 AM
Made some big bet on golden state, hope i won't regret... Lips sealed

For game 1? IMO the Cavs are much more ready and rested, although the Warriors still have their momentum going on from that series win, this could be a winning factor too.
1638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Simplifying Bitcoin denominations? on: June 01, 2016, 02:00:36 AM
Bits is probably the most established unit. It has already been adopted by lots of merchants and exchanges.

Perhaps the community should start adopting some english slangs for units too, something around the 10k bits and 100k bits level.
1639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2016 Play-Off Discussion on: May 31, 2016, 01:29:11 PM
Ok guys lets finish talk about OKC and GSW.

Now just start talk about the rematch between GSW and the CAVS

Most of people here in this thread is GSW fans

You think guys GSW will take the crown again?

I really think CAVS have chance to beat GSW this year,
last year CAVS with some injury players, but this year most likely to have a full health team.

Cavs for the ring this time!

But seriously, its true, the Cavs are complete and healthy this time around. Let hope they remain that way, especially Kyrie. For game 1, I'm betting on the Cavs. They're well rested, and IMO, better prepared for this.
1640  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2016 Play-Off Discussion on: May 30, 2016, 04:29:50 PM
it will be a disgrace for gsw if they lose this one at home after forcing the game 7 but i guess okc already been demoralized because of that loss if they want to bounce back i think they need to let all the players to step up not only those superstars but the coach needs to include everyone here and make a tight defense to curry and clay.
Home teams losing three times in a row is not really probable. First Toronto to get knocked out and then okc's last game. Not likely for GSW to give this one up.
We cannot tell it now yet, tomorrow is the final game of the two great team in the west, anything can happen as they are both really good, if the warriors cannot have a good shooting percentage, the thunder will take advantage is getting points in the paint.

It now boils down who wants a championship the most. It does not matter whose home court it is, but the desire to go to the finals and have a chance for an NBA title. Durant have not yet won a championship yet. I am sure he will be hungry. Gsw wants to protect or seal their achievements this year with a ring. Without a ring, those records is nothing.

It'll still go down as the best season ever though. The thing I saw about these last 2 games is that OKC loses steam right when they need it the most. Probably fatigued, or choking. I'm betting on the Warriors for this game. I'd like to see a finals rematch with the Cavs on full force.
