1641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ernst n Young to Auction Victoria Police Bitcoins on: May 30, 2016, 04:17:18 PM
They should just let it slide on the market selling it by themselves, bit by bit. But yeah, it's the rule for these.

Anyone has news on how the winning bidders for the Silk road auction used their btc? If they're speculating up till now, they've already got huge profits I suppose.
1642  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will never reach $700 again on: May 30, 2016, 12:28:46 PM
Bitcoin has only a potential to grow beacuse when more people start using it the demand goes up, automaticly the price goes up as seen in the last few days.

according to google trends, search interest in bitcoin is rising as well.

price and search interest have a history of being closely related, although it's debatable which one is driving which (but i think they drive each other).

As in, more people search for bitcoin and get interested, means more people buy it, means the price rises, means more people get interested which means more people buy it, etc.

Search interest most probably mean adoption in general, not just demand. And as we've seen over the past years, adoption ain't linear with price, what affects price mostly is investor trust - something very easily influenced by media.
1643  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: May 30, 2016, 08:44:21 AM
We just got notice from our banking partner that USD, EURO, and GBP will be unavailable until Tuesday. We do offer next day load for anyone that wants to load their card on the current bitcoin rate that will be loaded tomorrow after 5PM London on loads larger than $2500, €2500 and £2000. Next day loads can be up to $10000 at one time.

We apologies for the inconvenience.

So that's why I get a loading error. Can you at least send an e-mail notice to users for instances like this next time, that would be much appreciated.

It's going to be a crazy win if Oklahoma City Thunders can pull a win on game 7. It's a home court advantage for Golden State Warriors and pressure now is with Oklahoma City Thunders. The Golden State Warriors now have the momentum and they need to keep it to go to the Finals.

OKC Thunder won it before, they can do it again but they need to shoot 3's more accurate. If you shoot 3/21 3-points don't expect to win. They need to rest well today and be prepared mentally for Game 7. It'll be very fun to watch.

I've watch the game 6, they're playing really well before they broke down in turnovers the last 5 minutes. IMO it's because OKC's key players are very much fatigued. No one can stand up for the team as much as Westbrook and Durant. If they can get their key players to stand out like how they did early this series, they can beat GSW on their home.
1645  Other / Off-topic / Re: The bitcoin in daily life on: May 30, 2016, 02:07:24 AM
Have you guys ever used bitcoins like a payment method?
How hard it is to explain to someone what's bitcoin?
In your country there are many stores where you can use the bitcoins?
Do your friends related to bitcoin? Do they know what exactly is a bitcoin?

i used bitcoin to buy a coffee and donut once. the shop was in downtown and wasnt close to my house so i dont go there often. where i live there arent really any places that accept bitcoin as a method of payment, maybe thats why barely any of my friends know about it.

Lucky for you you've got a store that you can directly use it to. As for me I have to run it through a btc-powered debit card so I can use it.

Although, a lot of international merchants already accept it, so yeah, I use it every now and then for online purchases directly.
1646  Economy / Speculation / Re: is it time to sell? on: May 29, 2016, 05:34:21 PM
china exchanger has touched $550 but other exchanger are still around $515-520, probably the price of other exchanger will increase to $550, so now is not a good time to sell.

There's profits to be made in arbitrage, especially at high times like this. IMO let's see first if this will hold on a few more days, after that I think it's time to sell, just buy back when the price dips again.
1647  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin on Steam on: May 29, 2016, 03:55:39 PM
Haven't tried this just yet, as I still got funds on my Steam wallet. Does anyone know where to find Steam gift cards/wallet codes directly for btc?

Hi,

I'll just ask do you allow paid traffic? Like display, or PPC. I don't have a website, and as far as I can read you're mainly working with site owners. I'm looking to run campaigns with you guys too if you'd allow.

Also, what traffic sources are not allowed?

Drop me a PM please.

Regards,

don't use them.

they never paid, and eventually closed my account after I tried to contact them. shady as fuck

Noted, still waiting for a reply from the network though. There's not much offers for BTCBTCBTC traffic on big networks so I kinda need this.
1649  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2016 Play-Off Discussion on: May 29, 2016, 10:38:38 AM
Oklahoma City Thunder didn't avail golden opportunity against Golden State Warriors. This will cost it much which can be of being out of the race of title. This win will work like life line for Golden State Warriors and it will bounce back in coming match hardly.Oklahoma city Thunder didn't loose match but chance of playing final.

True, the momentum is with GSW now. But OKC just choked during that last quarter with turnovers, after having 3 full quarters playing really good. It's not over yet, let's see if the Warriors can pull of a 3-1 come from behind win like HOU did last year.
1650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Plenty of Bitcoin apps now in Apple Store on: May 29, 2016, 10:36:00 AM
May i know the detail of the apps you are talking about? Is is game based faucet apps or wallet apps or bitcoin news apps??
As i can see there are some addition of apps now in apps store, but for bitcoin game is still so little

As far as I know most of them are news and price apps, something you look at every now and then to see what's up. It's still a long way for Apple to allow a 'competitor' for Apple money.
1651  Other / Off-topic / Re: A digital item was sold for $55,000! (CS:GO Skin) on: May 29, 2016, 10:31:25 AM
There are morons all over the world who can spend money in the most foolish ways.  Tongue

I wish I was the seller of this foolish item. 55k USD is big and it is 3.6 million in my local currency. I could have bought a superbike of my choice.

They're not morons, this item can be sold to another person for profits. The item market on Steam fluctuates like the btc market does, and it can double the price at any time.

I myself buy a few items and sell it for real money, not Steam money, since you can't cash out on Steam. There's a huge market for this.
1652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin on: May 29, 2016, 06:30:28 AM
My biggest problem is I can't spend it on local stores, whether it's online or offline. So, I have to sell it to fiat first if I want to spend it.
I hope in near future bitcoin is accepted as payment in here, that way I can use bitcoin more confinient.

Go for a bitcoin-powered debit card then. I've had no trouble spending that way. Still, I'm waiting for my local exchange to release their own line of btc-debit cards, as I can't use an international card for Uber just yet.
1653  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is over $8,000,000,000 in market capitalization for the 1st time in months on: May 29, 2016, 05:45:35 AM
I'm an economically minded noob.  What does the market cap mean for me and the value of the bitcoin I hold personally?  How is it a good thing?  Will it increase adoption, value, distribution?  Can it answer some of the questions I outlined here in the following thread? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1489137.new#new

The market cap is basically a measure of how big the Bitcoin market is in comparison with other markets, be it other cryptos or gold, for example. Plus it is a great indicator of how much the adoption has grown over the years.

True, but it's mostly a gross measure. The cap includes all of the coins regardless of whether it's viable or ghosted. Coins in circulation are definitely a lot less.
1654  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price Increase Incoming. on: May 29, 2016, 01:02:18 AM
We will see what is gonna happen, some people are saying there will be a price increase and some say its just a speculation that its gonna happen.
The bitcoin is unpredictable no one knows what is gonna happen I honestly think its gonna rise but nothing is sure at the moment.

We're pretty sure it's gonna build up a rise till the halving, as probably everyone is buying up. It's almost June, and we've broken into $500. It'll shake up a little IMO but in the end it's gonna go up to say, $600?
1655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is worse - Losing all your btc to slots, dice, etc? on: May 29, 2016, 12:57:36 AM
As of now never experience the worse thing in gambling. im just gamble to have fun not to make a profit..
I dont know how much i lose in gambling .. but honestly its my payment for entertainment.

In my experience the worse is when playing slots and you do not understand the mechanics. I did once and didn't know what I was doing, I was just betting and betting and lost it all.
1656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2016 Play-Off Discussion on: May 28, 2016, 05:55:08 PM
Congrats to Cleveland Cavaliers to make secure its seat into final match, it showed wonderful performance against Toronto Raptors, for next match between Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors i think Oklahoma City Thunder has some good chance to win this.

Oh, seriously? I bet you didn't even watch the match. Speaking after reading box score is common interpretation here. Thunder will destroy Golden State tonight. All great players laugh at Curry. These kids will learn the hardest way tonight.

You see, if Curry and the warriors would win this, they're gonna win the series for sure. Still, I also believe OKC will finish this tonight. Serves Curry well though, Lebron took 3 trips to the finals before he got his ring. Curry got 1 in his first appearance.

1658  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will bitcoin reach 500 USD again ? on: May 28, 2016, 11:06:27 AM
It almost reached to 500$ by today but the greed is real. I hope it can hold at +500$. All we need to do is holding tight our coins.

Eth dump is also crazy at the moment. People are running away from eth to BTC like it is AIDS.

IMO it's this crazy rise is hugely because of the halving hype. But yeah, I don't think it'll hold long, considering those that bought at $300 months ago would have profited huge.
1659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2016 Play-Off Discussion on: May 28, 2016, 10:03:40 AM
Congrats for Cleveland Cavaliers, qualify to the final this season. The next match is Warriors match game 6, if Warriors can win on game 6, Warriors will go to final for sure.

It's Lebron's 6th consecutive time. Even if you say, he's had a strong company with at least 5 of these finals appearance, it's still quite a feat.

Now it's up for OKC to finish the series with the previous champs, if they have what it takes.

I'm betting on OKC still.  Smiley
1660  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hacker Donates $11k of Stolen Bitcoin to Kurdish Fighters Battling ISIS on: May 28, 2016, 10:00:58 AM
Did he say which bank was it? As far as I remember there was a huge hacking incident with Bangladesh's central bank.

IMO even if the ends if just, hacked money is still dirty money.
