781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: July 27, 2023, 06:31:29 AM
Magnolia now continuing their win streak which pretty much good as they are now in number 1 and we all know that they have the positions of twice to beat once the quarter finals has arrive and even if they will loss 2 times still they are the number 1 and the bettors will follow the lead of magnolia as we all know that it's a win if they will play. And about NLex and Tnt don't have any idea what's going on in Tnt team as we all know that they are now in the last.

I'm not familiar with the format, but I heard it's just an exhibition game, so no quarterfinals are needed for the game, and based on the information below, it might end this month.

Here's the information regarding the PBA on tour.

https://www.espn.ph/basketball/pba/story/_/id/37730146/what-need-know-pba-tour
Quote
Plenty of basketball. Gilas will practice in June as it prepares for a European training camp in July. PBA On Tour will end 26 days before the FIBA World Cup kicks off on August 25.

So after this, we have to wait until the FIBA World cup to end and monitor when the PBA season will finally open.
782  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 27, 2023, 05:59:40 AM

This is what I said before the predictions of this fight is end by KO and as we saw their fight Ko is their and I all amaze that inoue can handle Fulton in that match we are all know that Fulton is a strong boxer but the monster inside the body of inoue was released and make Fulton feel too bad. Now in our claim a new title in his career once again and I think he will aim more and more achievements after this.

I disagree. Fulton may be considered good due to his undefeated record, but he isn't as strong in terms of his KO rate compared to Inoue, who has achieved most of his victories by knockout. We clearly saw how Fulton was able to compete with Inoue, but he seemed hesitant to throw punches because he knew he would be open to Inoue's knockout power, and that's precisely what happened.
783  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the impact of this news on Bitcoin adoption ? on: July 26, 2023, 09:53:36 PM
Not something that will make bitcoin suddenly mega-bullish as an asset in an instant, but it's great news nonetheless — baby steps; even if Lightning is still a slippery slope in terms of actual adoption.
True. A lot of big news like this in the past, but it doesn’t create an immediate and long lasting effect in bitcoin, but if this is for real, then it’s actually a great news for bitcoin adoption. But we cannot expect for bitcoin to go into a sudden bullish price since the right time is yet to come.
784  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: For newbies and plebs who want to self-study to become "traders" on: July 26, 2023, 09:17:15 PM
My advice - BE CAREFUL

Investment and trading books, articles and videos are made by people who might not actually be winning traders. They make their money by writing "investment materials" and sell it to us, the plebs.

Plus "as traders", most of you will lose money and leave. Some of you might return and lose more money. Some might have learned their lesson the hard way and just HODL Bitcoin. The few who actually put in the most time, effort and who are well-capitalized might make it.
It’s a sad reality that some people are even making a business out on innocent people and see them believing that what they have read or seen are actually the best ways to make profitable trades. But in reality, those influencers are not actually profiting from trading but since it’s their own way to sustain their income and make a living, then we cannot also blame them for that. The reason why we don’t need to trust easily whatever we read in an article or seen in the video as it could be misleading in real life.
785  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 26, 2023, 12:26:28 PM
maybe by decision or perhaps this fight will go over and last the full 12 rounds.

This fight could last for 12 rounds if both boxers can absorb the punches thrown at them. They are not the kind of fighters who are slick enough; they always want to exchange punches. Since both are strong punchers, honestly, I doubt it will go to the judges' scorecards.

With only a few days remaining, I just want to be optimistic that Crawford will win, as I believe he is the better boxer. Terrence may have more belts, but Crawford's wins have been very dominant and convincing. Let's see if Crawford will live up to our expectations.
786  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: July 26, 2023, 06:04:24 AM
Unfortunately, still not this time as Mags continue the domination, that second half run brings them the lead that covers the handicap, lucky for those who manage to pick them up during a live game for sure there are good changes while the game is ongoing, there're some instances that Phoenix manage to take the lead but then again Mags showcase their talents and not to allow any possibility that Phoenix will going to disappoint them.

Magnolia Hotshots seems to be so serious on their PBA on-tour campaign as they continue to dominate and blew opponents out and they still manage to cover that huge spread. I thought that I will win my bet as it appears like Phoenix is fighting hard but Magnolia had a good run in the fourth that ruined my night.

Games for tomorrow:

Dyip vs Magnolia
NLEX vs TNT

Wonder what would be the spread on the first game.

The odds are already out. Magnolia is -15.5 and only 1.03 if you bet on the moneyline. On the other game, NLEX is -14.5, while 1.02 for the moneyline. Both teams are heavy favorites, so it's not worth taking the ML, but if you trust they'll dominate, that high spread is going to be attractive.

However, if you want to play for fun, you can parlay both underdogs and get a total odds of 82.56.
787  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 26, 2023, 05:25:27 AM

Isn't the KO illegal already as Fulton had touched the ground with his glove but Inoue took the chance to another left resulting in Fulton falling? I have the feeling that Fulton will complain about this soon. This guy has been looking for some reason not to fight Inoue since May and then this technical issue happens. He is going to make it an issue.

It looks like a David vs Goliath fight but it's an absolutely dominant win for Inoue since round 1.

I reviewed that sequence but IMO that's not illegal because it's the momentum of Inoue that cause him to punch Fulton while he was going to touch the canvass. Fault of the referee as he was so slow to grab Inoue for him to not punch anymore.

Nevertheless i don't think that knockdown will warrant a protest on Team Fulton as Inoue beat him "fair and square" from the opening salvo.

I have thought that Fulton could somehow make a resistance but turns out that i'm wrong as Inoue easily dismantle the bigger Fulton.

Inoue did not hit Fulton when he was down; instead, he waited for Fulton to get up and used that opportunity to fully hurt him. In my opinion, it's not a big issue, though, as we saw how Inoue dominated Fulton, and the outcome was already certain. The only thing to be decided was whether it would be via decision or KO. Fans should move on – Fulton did a great job at the beginning, but Inoue is on another level. The reality hurts, to be honest.
788  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbies can't profit from crypto without knowing how to trade. Truth or Myth? on: July 25, 2023, 09:17:05 PM
I overheard my coworkers discussing the idea that new investors in crypto cannot make profits without possessing trading skills. I would like to initiate a discussion on whether this claim is true or false. In my view, this belief is a false notion that is spread by individuals who want to discourage those who are curious about investing in crypto. What is your perspective on this topic?

Guys, I mean what other ways can newbies benefit from crypto investment without having to be a day trader or a professional trader. Because I believe there are other ways to earn aside from trading.
Trading is certainly a profitable way to earn from crypto but if you come to trading without experience but basically more on greed, you will only gain life changing losses instead. That’s why some traders never last long but only focus on in investing and hodling bitcoin for long term. That is way more calm and relaxing, and even less stress but still you are earning like trading.
789  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Appeal to the Average Joe and Jane Bitcoin Investors: Buy Bitcoin Now! on: July 25, 2023, 08:03:35 PM
Dear Average Joe and Jane in the Bitcointalk Community,

I hope this appeal finds you well.

I am writing to appeal to you to please consider buying more bitcoins now and not wait for big institutions to start adopting it before making a decision.
You don't have to appeal to anyone to invest in Bitcoin, except if you want to bear the responsibility of being their financial adviser which I don't think you are,  allow people to do what they want when it comes to buying Bitcoin because investment in Bitcoin is a choice, people that find Bitcoin interesting and useful will Buy.
However, you can tell or spread the gospel about Bitcoin but leave people to take their investment decision.
For an investment like bitcoin, it’s safer to just tell them about the risk of bitcoin investment than to convince them and bear the responsibility of their future losses. Because we all know that most of bitcoin investors these days are not after anymore to learn about its concept but to get quick rich with bitcoin that’s why they have to be aware first of it high risk and volatility that makes the market unpredictable, and makes newly investors more susceptible to losses.
790  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: July 25, 2023, 11:33:51 AM
I spent a bit of time watching some of their preparation for the fight. Jake looks like in top shape and ready to rumble at moment's notice while Nate still looks to be getting in shape for an 8-rounder. Respect to his effort in training but Diaz doesn't seem motivated enough to win and just waiting for a good payday.
There is nothing to worry about Nate Diaz and his stamina to fight for 8 rounds as Nate Diaz and Nick Diaz usually train and participate in triathlons and marathons and they will be definitely fit enough to go the distance in Boxing. Money is a big motivator to participate in these events as he knows his value to pull the crowds and he wont be that easy to beat down like the rest of the MMA fighters he faced in the past.

Actually, it is more likely that Jake gonna beat down Nate, as Nate often neglects defending his face. Check out his post fight (the fights he has lost) pictures. Often his face is bloody. All that fists on the belly level gonna play bad for his on August 5. No matter how good or bad your boxer opponent is, he never forgives such careless behaviour. No doubt that Nate can go 8-10-12 round fight and hope that more muscled Jake would get tired and run out of stamina, but imho, Jake gonna finish him in first half of the fight.
When Jake Paul was still undefeated, I would believe that he is not gonna lose, but since he isn't undefeated now, I think I would go for Nate Diaz although this is not his battlefield because the latter is also strong enough and could give Jake Paul a problem if he could tire him. Maybe the majority of us betting here are going for Jake Paul, but for -360 to win, I don't find it attractive
791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 25, 2023, 09:57:42 AM
Yeah, and as Paul George, shout out to WB for taking the minimum just to stay with the Clippers at least for this year.

No, he will stay for 2 years as that's what his contract says.

Quote
Free agent Russell Westbrook has agreed on a two-year, nearly $8M deal
https://www.nba.com/news/russell-westbrook-2023-free-agency

If he cannot make it next season, he still has one more season to help the Clippers win a championship. I think it's possible as long as Leonard stays healthy. Actually, even without PG, Leonard and Westbrook would already be enough to lead the team.
792  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beginners, you don't need Bitcoin first on: July 22, 2023, 07:43:59 PM
You’re right with this mate. People don’t need to invest if they will only use their last money left, I mean an amount that is intended to pay the bills or buy the necessities instead. Not just for bitcoin, but in all types of investments, it is a must that you need to invest using your extra money. Otherwise, if you secure your investment first more than a stable job or a a secured source of income, yes you will profit at first but eventually, you will also use those profits to pay the bills or buy goods and services that you need, which means you cannot save after all from your investment profits.
793  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think selling your property is better than taking loan? on: July 22, 2023, 07:18:40 PM
Firstly, washing machine and fridge aren't included in the property.
Electronic goods aren't cashable well enough in an emergency situation, Or if you do have to sell it, it will be priced very low especially by random buyers who are ignorant of your situation. Borrowing is better with the intention that you'll also sell your goods asap to pay off the loan. However, avoiding loans and debt is the average person's top choice.
I’d also prefer borrowing an amount that I know I can easily pay than to sell my electronic appliances and deprive myself from living a comfortable life. Also, selling second hand appliances will only have a depreciating value so I think it’s not worthy after all. However, if you can avoid doing them both and just go for an extra work to gain additional income, then that would be better so you won’t leave yourself paying the consequences of your own action.
794  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Spreading bitcoin awareness; Your personal security matters first on: July 22, 2023, 06:58:33 PM
The essence of Bitcoin is to provide privacy and freedom and if these two important Bitcoin features are not taken seriously,  people may run into trouble holding Bitcoin be it in banned countries or where Bitcoin is already adopted.
Privacy from both hackers and criminals who you exposed to by advocating for bitcoin, making them aware of the your bitcoin involvement and so on, this can have much negative effect more that it positive impact on the people in question,  i don't advocate publicly for Bitcoin adoption, but i always make sure my privacy is protected and only make few people around me know about Bitcoin and the advantage it offers it, users.
That’s also what I’ve been considering about bitcoin adoption. You don’t need to lecture everyone like going in a school and ask permission to teach. That would be risky knowing you are exposing yourself that you’re into bitcoin and that people may instantly think that you are hodling big amount of bitcoin which will eventually put  you in danger. So I’d definitely won’t do that. However, I make sure I’m also doing my part for bitcoin adoption by educating my family first and those close friends around me, but to be clear I won’t waste my time teaching to those whom I think will never agree on the advantages we can get from bitcoin.
795  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 10 tips to manage one's emotions while trading crypto. on: July 22, 2023, 06:40:43 PM
Thank you for bringing up this matter. Emotion control should be the first priority while learning to trade. This is so important that you need to get a hold of it before anything else. Having control over yourself will ensure the best outcome when learning to trade. After you master emotion control, you can be the best. Because when emotion is taking over your decision, you will make mistakes. You need to be like a robot. Apply the formula and just follow the result. And act according to it. Emotions will affect every analysis if you don't have control over it. So you will face errors and losses.

It was a really helpful post. Hopefully, there are people who will get help from this. And we can do it by just practicing. Once it becomes a habit, you will have control over your emotions for sure. It is important to take it slow. Try and you might fail. Then try again. You are losing too much? Try little amounts to learn first.
Yes. Emotions can easily ruin the outcome of our trades that’s why we should learn to control our high emotions before we get carried away and totally destruct us from our original plan. However, trading like a robot may seem impossible too because as a human, everyone has its own set of emotions that will definitely come out in everything that we do. So it’s hard to act like a robot, but at least controlling and reducing our emotions can do a lot from having a successful trading.
796  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching Bitcoin is not do or die on: July 21, 2023, 09:45:07 PM
Obviously, teaching bitcoin and engaging into bitcoin is not a do or die. People will always have its freedom of choice whether they take part in bitcoin or just disregard it like most people did. However, if people will be a lot wiser and would be goal driven, then at least they should learn bitcoin and all its life’s benefits in the future. Bitcoin could be our future when fiat comes to depreciate, so at least we’re taking an edge over others.
797  Economy / Economics / Re: What are some financial secrets that you know of? on: July 21, 2023, 08:51:58 PM

What are your secrets?

There is no financial secret or formula to get rich other than that you need to work hard, save and use your money wisely (investing). Each person will have a method, a formula, a path to success, no one is the same and you cannot copy someone else's formula and vice versa. Don't try to find the formula to get rich, keep working creatively, the results will come to you.

If you are looking for a faster path to success then I think investing is what you are looking for. I am not saying that investing will definitely make you rich but it may be the fastest way to success than others, but investing is risky, so be careful.
You’re on point mate. Even if people have their own financial secrets, but you cannot expect to follow them successfully because all of us have our own methods or strategy that will only work for us and may not work for others. So at the end of the day, everything relies on how you manage your own finances and how you take advantage on every opportunity that comes that will improve your way of living. While investing could be the fastest way to get profits and be rich in the process, but the fact that not everyone is capable to invest and have enough knowledge and resources to make it successful, then having an investment will not guarantee financial prosperity. But if you have the passion and persistency to keep it going despite of some inevitable losses, then you will eventually hit your own financial independence in the future.
798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: July 21, 2023, 03:28:35 PM
Nonito's prediction that Fulton has a slight edge is a bit off. I don't know if he is telling the truth or still not convinced that Inoue is extremely good, as Inoue beat him twice, while Donaire has not even fought Fulton yet. What the public believes is what I believe will happen, so I'm all the way with Inoue here, regardless of how he'll beat Fulton, but I'd love to see a KO if possible.

Yes, it doesn't really make any sense at all because it will be more believable if he is saying otherwise because it was Inoue whom he faced twice and not Fulton. So, I don't really think that he's giving a concrete prediction about this fight, with what he is saying in public now, it seems that he got a grudge against Inoue because he didn't had any chance to defeat the Japanese boxer at all and even embarrassed him on their 2nd encounter.
799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 21, 2023, 02:41:14 PM

Overall, yes we don't know the future of the team if Harden will be on the Clippers, but I just shared my opinion base on their performances, and experiences in the past. I hope that I'm wrong with the injury part, and hoping still that they will not get injured, but if that happen, Kawhi, PG, and Harden will be traded next year since they have an expiring contract.
Paul George may be on the trade block. That might be the cost of Harden. With the frequency of injuries that PG and Kawhi face, I would look to unload both of them for some younger talent. I cannot see a good future for the Clippers if they plan to try to keep both of these guys.

There issues regarding injuries is what giving a big problem with Clippers so if they want to compete maybe the best decision they could do is to have Harden in the rooster and trader either one of then since it can lessen up their loads. Then get a good player so that they can maximize their stars and maybe get a good result with that action. They already tried this duo but nothing happen to them so maybe good if they take one of them and acquire a player which doesn't have health issues.

I guess that will do instead of keeping PG and Kawhi in the same team where it will be expensive for them and not so beneficial but I think that will happen in the 24-25 season where PG and Kawhi will be traded while they are approaching their last season of their contract. Or they can do it this summer before the summer camp will commence and because sooner or later, they will be facing the same situation as these veterans aren't really that up for the challenge where they can still be a menace.
800  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you quit that's when you lose! on: July 21, 2023, 02:07:29 PM
There's a popular  remark among gamblers in the part of  my country I reside. The saying is expressed like this "if you quit that's when you lose".  They use this statement to encourage and give futuristic hope to themselves that no matter how much they loss today or how many wagers they have lost they don't need to quit as it's possible you may be the next jackpot winner tomorrow. For it's like say don't quit yet there may be a light at the end of the tunnel.

Well then I hope that those gamblers in your country are frequently winning but if they are not and that they are having the opposite outcome, what can I say aside from I'm not really surprised by it. That statement might encourage someone but it's not really advisable because if you say that, it's just like pushing someone towards the edge because instead of saving themselves from a lose streak, they will lose more if they won't quit. Besides, what are the guarantees that if they don't quit they will start winning?
