801  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Selling KNC Pre-Order [1-500] #292 4 Left on: June 05, 2013, 09:57:05 PM
I'm buying pizza's last Saturn slot.  Deal is underway in PM.  Smiley
802  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon clone assembly [15 Avalons + 10 extra modules + enclosure + heat sinks] on: June 05, 2013, 04:38:00 PM
I'm interested in a hashing module.  I have chips coming in Zefir's GB.  Can I reserve one?

Thanks.
803  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Now available: Lancelot (Heavy Duty 400 Mega hashes, 2 x FPGA Mining Board) on: June 04, 2013, 07:09:30 PM
Code:
 ICA  7:                | 394.4M/554.0Mh/s | A:1683 R:32 HW:1464 U:  4.30/m

This looks to be running v42 firmware. Please put the 200Mhz firmware if you do not want many hardware errors.

I didn't change the firmware since receiving them.  Is it easy to change?  I have a Xilinx Platform Cable, though I've never used it...

I'll get out the included Lancelot manual and RTFM when I get home in case it tells me.
804  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Now available: Lancelot (Heavy Duty 400 Mega hashes, 2 x FPGA Mining Board) on: June 04, 2013, 07:07:54 PM
Hmmm how would I tell git to roll me back to 3.1 ?

-MarkM-

'cd cgminer'
'git checkout v3.1.0'

If you're having trouble running 4 boards at once, check your power supply, and try a different one or two.
805  Economy / Scam Accusations / BTC4Amazon owes me $700 on: June 04, 2013, 03:30:10 PM
I bought some wal-mart codes from BTC4Amazon.  I spent them and they worked OK, so I bought some more.

After a while I had a bunch stacked up ready to spend, and then 3 of the $200 codes were spent out from under me.  When I check their balance I see purchases on wal-mart.com for their full amount.

I asked BTC4Amazon what had happened, and he just said "Give me a minute to look into this", and then no further response for some days.  Then after another inquiry:

I have been extremely busy recently offline but I do have a report in with Walmart to see exactly what happened. They are supposed to get back to me within 48 hours with the details so closer to 49 hours now as I did it in the am

Then something happened to one of the $100 codes he sold me.  It just says "invalid number" now when I try to check the balance.

Finally on 14-May I requested a refund:

I'd like to just get a refund for these.  I need my assets liquid.

That'll be for the 3 $200 codes, and the one $100 code that went bad.

Please send to 12z2v2xL8URzmer37fYRyqscx7sbjCGvHz

Thanks.

No response.  Further PMs have gone unanswered.

He used to have an established OTC rep, but now he's somehow changed his OTC username?:

Well, it looks like I spoke a little too soon.  Turns out a couple of the boards have issues.

On ICA 3, one of the white LEDs (DONE2) does not light up, and it only hashes at half speed.

ICA 7 sometimes produces storms of HW errors, and inaccurate hashrate report, though its performance (accepted shares) seems unaffected.

The other 8 are running fine.

I guess I'll find out what warranty support is like.  I foolishly didn't really research it before buying.

I received my 10 on Friday, and just got them built into a stack and going last night (been busy with other things).

They shipped when BlackArrow said they would (about 2 weeks after ordering), and I received tracking information.

I'm pretty happy with them.  The included USB cables look cheap, but seem to work fine.  They don't have the problem of disconnecting if I touch them, like some other truly cheap cables I have do.
808  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon mining rig CLONES available for preoder (85+ GH/s), BATCH 1 SOLD OUT! on: June 03, 2013, 11:19:40 AM
Can I buy just a hashing module to add to an existing Avalon?  (sorry if this has already been answered.)
809  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon problem - wont turn on on: June 03, 2013, 11:13:44 AM
I've learned the hard way, always test new equipment before deploying it.

This goes double for hard drives.
810  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Block Erupter and Raspberry Pi on: June 03, 2013, 10:34:33 AM
Was anyone able to get the latest cgminer to work? I was also able to get bfgminer but no luck with cgminer.

I have it working on a Pi running cgminer 3.1.1 (on Raspbian).  I had to specify -S /dev/ttyUSB0 etc.

I did not have any luck with cgminer 3.2.0 (yet), or with 3.1.0.

I did not try MinePeon.

I'm using Rosewill 10-port powered hubs.  They seem to have no problem powering 6 or 7 sticks (7 on 2 of them, 6 + the Pi on another).
811  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner Block Erupter USB group buy (US/Canada) on: May 30, 2013, 06:36:57 PM
No package received, and no nondelivery notice.  Tracking still shows "Expected delivery May 28th".

USPS hates me.  Sad

If they don't show up today I'll stop in at the post office tomorrow morning and hassle them.  This happened before recently with a power supply I ordered.  It finally showed up like 3 days late.

Yay, the wife tells me mine arrived at the house now today.

Better late than never.

Bogart was suddenly taken ill, and had to go home from work early...

"Honey, can you do me a favor?  Remember those USB hubs I showed you..."
812  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Will 2-pin Molex work on ModMinerQuad? on: May 30, 2013, 06:35:20 PM
I bought a Molex power adapter with plans to switch my Mod Miner Quad to a raspberry pi rather than a full computer with PSU. Found one that does 12V, 4.15A, 50 Watts.
When I received it, I was surprised to find only two of the four molex holes have connectors. I disconnected my MMQ from my computer, and plugged in the 2-pin adapter, and all the LEDs came on, but I was too worried to actually try mining that way.
The MMQ says it needs 12V and 40 Watts, so I thought the adapter would be fine, but I'm worried that having 2 pins instead of 4 will cause a problem.
I'd really appreciate if someone could let me know if it won't be a problem, or if I just wasted $20. Obviously I'm an idiot when it comes to electricity.

2 wires should be fine.  All FPGA miners I've seen need only 12V supplied.

The only worry I'd have is that a 50W supply on a 40W board doesn't give you much headroom.  It's gonna be working pretty hard most of the time to supply that load, which will go up as heat increases, or if you overclock.
813  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL ASIC STATUS 5/29 on: May 30, 2013, 06:29:01 PM
since this is the prototype of a 50gigahash I'd say just give it at least another 2-12 months.
I think that if they had the money (and chips in quantity, that should not be far from the truth), the should theoretically be able to ship every order in a short tf, like, 1 month.
They should simply outsource everything, from the pcb to the case/packaging...

However, i think that since that they lack liquidity, they will do it in house and as slow as possible.

Why don't they start selling batches of their chips as well? That could have a fixed delivery time...

Liquidity problems?! That one rig has scored them over $8k the past 30 days, it says so on the screen. That's their rent paid for at the very least!

But they promised not to mine on mainnet.

Has to be competitive with blades which equiv cost 300.

But I can't buy a blade right now for immediate shipment.

Can I?
816  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB: ztex chipset fans - Titan on: May 30, 2013, 02:14:45 PM
I expect to be receiving a bunch of these coolers pictured below next week.

They're slightly taller than the Titan coolers, but far shorter than the red "Deep Cool" ones.

I'll have extras to sell.  Let me know if you need any.  I'm located in the US, but can ship worldwide.

I also have (right now) the green snap-in screw terminal blocks:

817  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Full List of BTC4Amazon Services(Now on OTC!) on: May 29, 2013, 07:28:22 PM
I too am waiting on a refund from Mr. BTC4Amazon or whatever name he's going by now.

I had bought some wal-mart codes from him, some of which I used without trouble, but $700 worth "went bad", either being spent out from under me, or having the code simply come up as invalid when checked on the site.

So far he's not replaced or refunded the bad codes, and has been generally unresponsive.

In my last PM, I said that I will be posting in Scam Accusations if I'm not made whole by month's-end.

819  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: May 28, 2013, 11:34:19 PM
I ran into a new sort of issue with my (batch 1) Avalon tonight.

I noticed it was no longer mining, and when I logged into the web UI, it loaded, but I was unable to load the cgminer status tab.

I ssh'd in, and saw way too many instances of /usr/bin/cgminer-monitor running:

http://pastie.org/7977320

At that point I rebooted the Avalon using the 'reboot' command, and it resumed working normally.

I'm running the 20130419 firmware.
820  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ATTN] BitSyncom: What happened to my Batch 1 order? on: May 28, 2013, 06:41:15 PM
It could be in the hands of Canadian Customs.  I understand they have been intercepting a lot of shipments lately.

Here is an example of a shipment I sent to a Canadian eBay customer on 22-April that still has not arrived:

http://www.canadapost.ca/cpotools/apps/track/personal/findByTrackNumber?trackingNumber=LZ412134221US

In my case it was a cheap item, so I'm shipping the customer a replacement and hoping it makes it.
