801  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't expect everyone to embrace Bitcoin on: July 20, 2023, 09:36:31 PM
Bitcoin is not for everyone. Although some have been dying to have a portion of it, but others still doubted the potentials of bitcoin and still think that it won’t be valuable in the long run. And those who have been seeing bitcoin like this are actually those who know nothing about bitcoin in the first place. However, despite of those negative treatments for bitcoin, there are still some who left firm on their decision and believe bitcoin no matter what. And clearly, these kind of people are what we need for bitcoin adoption, not those who are just greedy to invest at first but when they start seeing losses, then they start to curse bitcoin.
802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 20, 2023, 01:19:40 PM
For sure everyone of us here is excited and hopefully if there are members here that is stateside, maybe they are going to watch it. Nevertheless, its' going to be weekends so we can sit down with our friends and families and enjoy this great and exciting fight.
With the changes that have happened, I believe there's a big possibility that the PPV amount will surpass the PPV revenue of Davis vs. Garcia, which was very successful. Donaire can attract a crowd because he was once a good pound-for-pound boxer, and I'm sure everyone wants to see how an older Donaire will win a championship.
803  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 20, 2023, 12:14:27 PM
It’s a sign that the players are being paid too much money in my opinion. This is why we keep seeing super teams popping up. Players taking less money to team up used to be honorable, but now they are all making so much money that people are praising star players for only taking 35-40 million dollars per year to help their team. Not to mention endorsements make up a big part of their income and they get more endorsements with championships under their belt.
They already know there's a lot of money coming in, so they take advantage of it. I don't think we will see another team who are paid less but can win a championship. Owners today don't even care about luxury tax anymore. They must be making more even if they need to pay that amount. It's business as usual but I am kind of curious how they can still make profits despite building a super team. Maybe a year or more we will see a player making $100 per year and it won't even be surprising anymore.

I'm also expecting to see that as it's no longer impossible after seeing those huge contracts from a young star players, I mean
some of those superstars now might demand for a better deal after the contract expires.

Giving another team to bring on the table a huge offer to try bringing them and signing them for a trade, $100M /year is really huge,
but for the team owner who wants great improvement with his team.

That amount is not by far can be offered as it can be generated back when success in chasing a title takes place.

It's the value that matters because if the $100 million in the next 5 years is equivalent in value to $50 million this year, then that would not change anything. It's only the figure, not the value. Teams may be paying a lot of money, but it's not something that will lead them to bankruptcy. At the end of the day, they are still paid more than they spend.
804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can I save my brother by investing in btc now? on: July 19, 2023, 09:27:38 PM
sorry,I come from China,The following is translated by machine ,My brother has leukemia. I have already owed  30,000 US dollars. But my brother still hasn't improved. I finally got the bone marrow last week. The doctor said it would cost about 75,000 US dollars. My total assets are about 3,000 US dollars now. If I want to treat my brother. Is it too late to buy btc now?thank you

Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme. For you to make 75k USD out of your 3k USD you would need the Bitcoin price to go to 25x higher than it is now. Thats 750000 USD/BTC. The chance of that happening within the next 5 years is very low. Perhaps withing 10-15 years, sure. But since your brother's condition is so dire, it seems like he cannot wait that long.

Your best chance at getting 75k USD in a short time is either a loan or a go-fund-me.  In other words, crowdsourcing the money. But you will need to provide proof that you have a brother and that he truly has leukemia and that you do not have the money to pay for his treatment. Without that proof, nobody will send you any money.

As I said, try gofundme.com and provide proofs.
I have heard a lot of good things about gofundme.com. I guess that’s should be your first option as it has already grant a lot of help especially for those who are really in a bad situation. And I think you won’t have any problem with that as I believe you have lots of proofs and maybe medical certificates to support that your brother is struggling to fight leukemia. Taking a loan is good but I don’t think you can avail big loans without any collateral to present, and also when taking a loan, you also need a stable job that will pay your loan.
805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: July 19, 2023, 01:49:27 AM
It is really just that common on having this kind of gender inequality.

In the present world, the trend is indeed towards online gambling. With the emergence of crypto gambling, individuals can hide their identities as many gambling sites allow anyone to participate, providing a level of anonymity. This means that people of various demographics, including men, women, and even minors, can engage in gambling with a sense of equality.
806  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | Sportsbook & Casino 🎲⚽ on: July 19, 2023, 01:14:41 AM
it looks like they didn't have customers anymore and went bankrupt and returned the money of the few customers they had because if they had a lot of customers then we would be seeing a scenario where a lot of people would be complaining about them here, and it's strange to see that the casino. guro has not posted any notice that the casino is not working

Maybe it's really the case. They had a signature campaign not too long ago, so it's hard to believe that they have ran out of customers and funds in that short span of time. If there were no complaints and not a lot of people raising their concerns on the platform, it seems that they have not done an exit scam but rather, just became insolvent and lost money in the process. It’s too early to call it like that, but if no one’s adding to the noise, that could mean that things didn’t go south as what others are trying to make it look like, but who knows?
Gamblers might be more understanding if the platform went insolvent but was still able to return the funds of the gamblers. If they declare insolvency and are unable to return all the funds, it could be considered an exit scam, which is a cause for concern. However, it's essential to give them some time to address the situation. Nevertheless, the current circumstances are somewhat worrying.
807  Economy / Economics / Re: Can your passion lead to an increase in your net worth? on: July 18, 2023, 08:49:02 PM
There are many diverse opinions about following one's passion and wealth. I read two stories of people who followed their passion, and in a short period of time, the businesses became very profitable.

In story 1, Defossey left a job at Apple to open a BBQ restaurant in Mexico City. It made $9 million in sales last year. In story 2, Sean Audet, a 30-year-old, spent $0 launching a food photography side hustle, and now he brings in $134,000 a year.

The people in these stories followed their passion and created wealth through it. What is your opinion on following one's passion in relation to wealth? Can your passion lead to an increase in your net worth? If yes, what is stopping you from following it?

In reality, your passion will never lead you to any success unless you have the high knowledge and honed skills that are needed for a successful endeavor. Although I would say it’s also vice versa if you have the knowledge and skills, and yet you don’t have the passion and interest to pursue your goal, then you will still be unsuccessful. Yes, a lot may have gone a long way from following their passion, but I believe passion alone will never take you that far.
808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 18, 2023, 01:37:03 PM
We just need to wait. Once the season begins, we will see those teams to play and who are the ones who improve the most.

There's no question about the Nuggets, as they have already proven themselves to be a great team by winning the championship. Honestly, I believe that their chemistry is strong enough for them to win back-to-back championships. The only reason they would lose that chance is if Murray or Jokic were to be injured, as they are the most consistent players on the team.
Since the beginning of the season the Nuggets have looked very prominent and have managed to become the strongest team in the west with the wins they always get.
Already Nuggets should have won this season and anyone who has been following NBA developments would have guessed midway through the season that the Nuggets have the biggest chance of winning.
Murray or Jokic has been one of the core players for the Nuggets and indeed on the second night of back-to-back sets they were rested by the Nuggets due to an injury.
But they weren't predicted to be the best team in the NBA before the playoffs.

If we review the 2022-2023 championship odds, the Nuggets are listed at +1800 to win the championship.

809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 18, 2023, 12:55:17 PM

As of this point, both camps are yet to discuss that and start their negotiations because it is still too early for them to commence it. Besides, even if we say that Inoue have an advantage in this fight despite being the challenger, we still cannot say that it is a guarantee that he will win and will proceed to the negotiations for the upcoming undisputed fight versus Marlon Tapales.

Exactly, we have yet to see the outcome of this fight as it could still change. There are numerous factors that will be taken into consideration, with money being the main factor. If this fight has the potential to generate a significant amount of revenue and ends up being a close contest, then it is likely that we will witness a rematch.

The fact that they rescheduled the fight and included it as part of a mega fight (Spence vs Crawford) indicates that profitability is likely the main reason. This fight becomes even more significant than a main event in the bantamweight division because, despite being an undercard fight, it is part of a mega event that is expected to generate a substantial number of pay-per-view subscriptions and attract a sold-out crowd in the arena.
810  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 18, 2023, 08:08:37 AM
^^ Most likely two scenarios,

a. fans who bought the ticket for the Donaire vs Santiago will be refunded full.
b. or they are going to be given the chance to watch it on the reschedule fight.

So everything is building right now, the fans of both in social media are hyping the fight and have their own predictions on how the fight is going to end. I still haven't decided yet. But I might bet as the fight gets closer to the date.

Spence vs. Crawford is practically sold out so option B is out of the question. Donaire vs. Santiago was only a supporting bout, the main event still happened so technically fans got the event they paid for and aren't eligible for a refund either. The only option would have been to resell or transfer your tickets through the Ticketmaster app.

That poses a significant inconvenience for the fans who have already purchased tickets for the Donaire vs Santiago fight. I hope their situation will be taken into consideration. After all, it's not their fault that the fight has been postponed. Valuing the fans should be the top priority, especially when unexpected changes occur. It's crucial to ensure that no issues arise that would upset the fans.
811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 18, 2023, 07:43:26 AM
On a positive note, if Haney vacates his lightweight titles then we will probably see Shakur vs. Lomachenko which is one of the best matchups that can possibly be made.
This is even more exciting as Loma is still not considered a leftover despite his loss to Haney. It was a close fight, and some believe Loma actually won. So if this fight were to happen, it would give Loma a chance to prove himself once again. And in case he beats Shakur, it would be a significant success for him, causing people to forget his loss to Haney.
812  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not a steady income haven on: July 15, 2023, 08:18:10 PM
For example, a professional gambler is sure they also have other sources of income from the work or business they run.
Gambling saves a million risks of losing money so if you don't have another source of income maybe gamblers will only play gambling in a short time because they run out of capital when defeat occurs, in contrast to gamblers who have a job or business which can have a steady income and can return to play at any time want to gamble.
What is certain is not to become dependent to make ends meet from the results of gambling because the result is that there is no clear certainty when you can get a profit.

Having multiple sources of income or substantial savings is a must for a gambler (assuming such exists hehe) who gambles for a living.
The math is such that even if a gambler can get an edge over the casino/bookmaker to such an extent like that he guesses 70% of the outcomes of a coin toss, a series of failures can still happen when, with any money management, he will suffer significant losses.

Of course, I don't believe that these so-called professional gambler doesn't have any other sources of income on the side to generate money because it is very unsafe for them to lean on the gambling alone and rely on their skills that will not lead them into a desired path. Gambling is still the same, it has two sides and it will be inevitable for everyone to have their own share of losses in any given day and nobody is exempted on that fact, including the professional gamblers.
813  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 15, 2023, 07:56:15 PM
An official offer from Miami for Dame has been made. Tyler Herro and a few draft picks. We’ll see what happens there. The big news of the day out of Miami though is Jimmy Butler hooking up with Shakira. I wonder how that’s going to impact his offseason training. Usually famous women don’t have a positive effect on athletes…
You think Portland accept that? I think they will hold out for another player or pick honestly. They're not going to get much more then that considering Lillards age, but 1 more pick is possible.

Far as Shakira and Butler, good for him. She freaking sexy!!!

They might need a third team to make the trade happen because it's seriously not enough, Portland remained firm on their say that they are not interested to acquire Tyler Herro anymore. Those three first rounders are fine though but it's still not enough, some rumors are surfacing that the Portland is asking for another first rounder to make it four future picks. We'll know more about it soon.
814  Economy / Economics / Re: Things you should know about Money mindset on: July 15, 2023, 05:51:18 PM
These are very good advices. There are endless opportunities to make huge money but people are lazy to do it or blind to see them. I have friends make money in so weird ways but somehow they manage to make it work. They sometimes explain to me but I don’t understand a damn about what they are saying. I always tell them that I should do a business which I understand and it is the truth. Warren Buffett says the same thing too. He says that he doesn’t invest in a business he doesn’t understand.
Sometimes, people excel in some different ways, like doing business with things that are sometimes hard to understand by many. But I believe there’s nothing wrong with that, as long as they don’t take an edge over other people, then that’s fine. The important thing is they know how to take advantage of their own opportunities, even if other people don’t see it as opportunities to earn because of the lack of knowledge and skills.
815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: July 15, 2023, 01:23:34 PM
First and foremost, I don’t see quitting gambling is reasonable if you are just an occasional gambler. As long as you can still manage your finances well and you have your own stable job to support your gambling activity, then gambling at your own risk is still valid enough. However, for those who are gambling using borrowed funds since they don’t have any spare money for gambling, then it’s a good advice to quit gambling for good. Otherwise, they’ll end up being homeless trying their luck again and again. But the problem is these kind of people find it hard to quit from gambling, especially if they are gambling to provide their family needs. Though the best advice is just to quit and find stable job to make ends meet, but you can’t just force people to quit gambling easily especially if they’re not completely convinced to leave gambling for good.
816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitconnect : learning from the past. How is it possible to invest life savings ? on: July 15, 2023, 12:32:11 PM
The problem is, people with no financial and business education can't differentiate between a legitimate startup and a ponzi scheme or an obvious scam. This is why it's generally not advised for such people to get into risky investments and instead stick to safer options. But crypto community rejects this idea, they actively promote crypto investments to their friends and family, because they think it's a golden opportunity to get rich quick. They think they can't be scammed, because they did their research, and by research they mean watching a Youtube video and reading a Medium article.
The problem with people these days is that they can be easily lured as long as high returns is at stake. Even if they know they would only lose more than they’ll gain profits because they just quickly invest without educating theirselves. It seems that they are not learning from other people’s mistakes and losses. However, being lured or scammed is part of growing. You will never learn and take it with caution unless you experienced it all by yourself.
817  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it Advisable joining Bitcoin signal group? on: July 15, 2023, 12:08:23 PM
I don't think it's recommended, but if you need it why don't you join the community. there are many bitcoin signal community. but I personally look for free ones not paid ones because it's the same we still have to make our own decisions to go into buying or selling the btc that we have

Whether it's a paid signal group or not, most of those groups are just a total waste of time. Because even those who seem to be free signal groups don't publish full, good signals, they always have some Information to hide from you, and they will be asking you to subscribe to their VIP service before you can start receiving some few good, successful signals. Some times they can even show you some past successful trades that they have made, and they will ask you to pay for VIP so you can earn such a profit, and most times, even after you have paid, you will not get any better signal. The best thing is for one to practise on their own and learn to be more dependent on their trading decisions.

Cheers 🥂, Dr.Bitcoin_Strange 👺👺
You are right in this mate. Whether it’s free or not, joining this kind of group will only limit your own trading potentials because eventually when you see successful trades posted on the group, you will start to lost your own focus and just rely on them for trading signals thinking that you could be lucky and profitable as well just like them. But hey, trading signals are not all the time reliable and trustworthy. You have to study the market and do your own diligence to analyze the market well if you want to maximize your gains when trading. Trading signals group can be sometimes impressive though but for me, I just don’t see wasting my money and time relying on them.
818  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin or other assets? on: July 14, 2023, 09:59:09 PM
One luxury watch is enough for me, not to see it as an investment but just my personal thing so that I can use it whenever there’s a necessity. I would still go for bitcoin investment seeing a lot of lives have been changed by bitcoin, and so I’ve been also motivated by that. And IMHO, it’s hard to spend a lot when the returns are hard to achieved and they’re not impressive enough, unlike investing in bitcoin, you could just spend buying a portion of it and hold it for long, and when bull run takes place, you will earn a lot of profits even 5x or 10x from your capital depending on how long you prefer to hold your investment before you decide to sell it.

I want your help to start my journey-
Thanks-
Study the threads in the forum and DYOR. Focus on learning about bitcoin and its crypto market. If you can do your own diligence and explore everything that is listed in the forum, then that would be a lot better. It will give you an advantage knowing you’ve earned adequate knowledge first before you decide to invest. Also, learn from the mistakes of others as what they shared in the forum, so that you can avoid those mistakes and will never do the same mistakes that will lead you to lose and failed in your set goals.
820  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think at some point government will change its stand and adopt Bitcoin? on: July 14, 2023, 09:14:21 PM
Everything can change over time, if not now then certainly in the next generation. As long as governments are sure what they will gain by adopting bitcoin, then they may adjust in the future. Of course it won't be easy, it takes time and it takes a lot more to expect the government to change its policies.

I expect the government to change its attitude towards bitcoin over time, but they shouldn't rush into it without a lot of consideration. We know they don't want to get out of hand and don't expect a lot of people to be breaking just after the adoption is announced, that includes preventing abuse and other precautions.
Yes, I believe change is very possible but I think it will take a lot of time processing before things will turn positive about bitcoin. However, if bitcoin will stay decentralized over time, which means it could not be controlled by any third party, I don’t think the government will love the idea since the very aim of the government is to take control of everything just like what it did to fiat and its banks.
