881  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: There are no more escrow services? on: July 03, 2018, 11:44:28 PM
As a new member around here i started talking with another member to buy miners from him etc. I contacted the escrow accounts around here (even the ones that are painted in red now) and nobody responded. I did my research and noticed that most of those accounts are already sold out to scammers. Why there isnt a ban policy for that? Is someone responsible or controlling for that sector, or there is some service here that i don't know of? Please enlighten me. Thank you.  Smiley
- I went through the same phase recently and I can understand how frustrating it could be to find a suitable escrow for your deal. Most of the highly trusted accounts are too busy to reply or just don't have  interest in the deal.

- I would rather go with an escrow who has lesser trust ratings but is very responsive and active whilst the deal is in progress. I suggest messaging Lutpin/minerjones but not sure if they take such deals.
882  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: why is there no bitcoin casino with sicbo on: July 03, 2018, 11:39:22 PM
this is my favorite casino game i don't understand why i can't find any site with it that's not restricted.
Lack of interest from the gambling community. Needless to say but people have tried coming up with interesting games in the past but nothing worked out. No one really wants to move from the typical dice and plinko games. So far I have only seen one person mentioning that game.

betcoin.tm has it but i didn't like theirs too laggy, low payouts and i don't trust them
They are known scammers on the forum. Avoid them.
883  Other / Meta / Re: Special Hero question on: July 03, 2018, 11:27:53 PM
My account being a perfect example here. I had 1000 default merit and I think activity as same as the OP but I did not reach the legendary rank
So, if The Pharmacist is right which is HE is right, in the next 4 weeks or less you are going to celebrate your Legendary rank!!! Congratulations in advance mate.  Smiley

That is if he gets the required number of merits for the new rank, his activity might be due for the new rank in next 4 weeks or less just like you said but he also needs the merit to move on to the legendary rank.
I don't know what cave you have been living under but my merits are displayed right there! Minimum required merits to become a legendary are 1000 and if you look at my merits, you shall see I'm pass that.
884  Other / Meta / Re: Should ANN and services threads be excluded from the merit system ? on: July 03, 2018, 11:25:14 PM
ANN Threads - Yes!

That's just awful.  I don't quite get why people are meriting ANN threads.  Are these thread-starters getting some sort of kickback from this?  Is it to get the threads on the "most merited threads" list?  Are people just kissing ass?  I wouldn't think that would be the case, since I can't imagine all these people would throw away their merits on ass-kissing.
- Shit-posters are having a hard time to understand what merit is or how it functions. Legends say, in Indonesia you can buy a pizza in exchange for merits. The number of merit beggars in Philippines have caused a havoc in their economy.

I was thinking about this the other day. Users are just wasting their merit on them to be honest, and they're just needlessly giving them away as a "like" or "thanks" instead of to posts that are actually of substance. Wouldn't surprise me if some of the bounties are requesting that users merit their ANN bounty threads as well in exchange for higher bounties. I wouldn't be against removing the merit button from certain sections and the first post in Ann threads would be a good candidate.
Yes I've seen such cases where the bounty manager asks all the participants to merit the ANN thread as it makes the project look more 'legitimate'. ANN threads will be a good place to block merits.

It could be in the next week as well as it's totally random.Anyway, I honestly don't think it's a big deal to rank up because one can easily buy a legendary account for a couple of hundreds out there.Thank you though! Smiley
886  Other / Meta / Re: Special Hero question on: July 03, 2018, 10:15:02 PM
Edit:  So IF you had the 1000 merits, you might be Legendary at this point, but it wouldn't be guaranteed.  I had to wait until about 1020 activity before I got that status, and that was before the merit system *whew*.
My account being a perfect example here. I had 1000 default merit and I think activity as same as the OP but I did not reach the legendary rank. Like you said it's random when one becomes a legendary while activity being in the scale of 950-1030.
@OP, you have a long way to go.Gaining 500 merits would take a few months unless you do something extraordinary.
887  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: thatkid1 scammer sell twitter account on: July 02, 2018, 11:46:00 PM
I was offline after last conversation and we were in the process of setting up an escrow with Lauda. Seems like you are kind of smart by selectively posting the messages. Either way I just want to settle this as I don't have time to waste to help someone like you. I asked for an escrow as this guy started complaining the issue in publicly on the sales thread. Instead of answering my questions,  he was abusing me and my family. Honestly, that kind of discussions are not common in the place were a live, but I accept the world is not even.
Why initiate a business when you cannot adhere to the deadlines? When the deal was about giving two accounts, it should have been the same way. You disappearing for a 'family vacation' wasn't part of the deal.

I accept that there were delay in responses from my side due to my personal issues and could have communicated properly. Also, the language issues were there and made it complicated. I have even offered compensation to settle this earlier. I don't think I have to do that any more after this.
Glad that you accept it.

Don't expect immediate replied in these days as I don't get much time to be here. I have been to this forum for a while and have made many good relationships here. I don't want to lose everything for a mere $75.
Just lock your sales thread until you have enough time on your hands..
888  Other / Meta / Re: How did you lost your bitcointalk account? on: July 02, 2018, 11:40:18 PM
Apart from your list and what other users posted, there's also "Public Wifi Networks/Connections".
- Here's a useful link: 5 Ways Hackers Can Use Public Wi-Fi to Steal Your Identity
How can they sniff your packets if the site uses an encrypted connection?
There are highly advanced packet sniffers which sit on the remote servers and are capable of doing so without logging the traffic. Anyway, packet sniffing wouldn't work here as the only sensitive data involving accounts is the password which is encrypted and stored in the database as a hash. Such data even if accessed by the packet sniffers won't  be in human readable format.
889  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Fantasy Sports on: July 02, 2018, 11:31:30 PM
a fantastic offer!
if only it was possible to register and take advantage of it....

the problem is that it doesn't allow you to register-you get this nasty undefined popup
do you have restrictions in place? like some countries cannot participate?
Lmao, please post that screenshot in r/ProgrammingHumor. This is the problem why these low tier gambling sites are not to be taken seriously. Product is either coded by someone sitting in the middle east with no solid programming skills or bought as script and built over a HTML template. There is no testing, no security testing, and is released in the broken way as it is. Nope 'undefined' is not a country restriction error, it is a JavaScript bug.
890  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are there any APIs worth making? on: July 02, 2018, 11:21:45 PM
There is no lack in APIs honestly but If you're planning to provide something better when it comes to request limits, features, and competitive rates then people will definitely use it.
Definitely there is! Most of the existing API's revolve around sending/receiving bitcoins, checking balances, trading and other stuff. I don't recollect seeing an API which helps implement a bitcoin mixer and is used by many. Private services don't make their API's accessible to everyone. I'm sure you will find a lot of similar projects which needs a public API.
891  Economy / Services / Re: 🔥🔥 Manual Bitcoin Mixing Service 🔥🔥 on: July 02, 2018, 11:15:40 PM
Please don't accuse of scam, i been on this forum for a while,  i am here for legit service, please try before you blame on me.
Reaching a Full Member Rank - is not a while! You literally have zero reputation on the forum. Your service might be legit but without appropriate references and feedback, one should not blindly trust you.

Just a suggestion : There are enough bitcoin mixers out there which are fast, cheap and reliable. If you can, you should offer mixing services for other bitcoin forks like BCH/BCD/BTH. It will be a growing market in a few days.
892  Other / Meta / Re: I'm just curious about a negative feedback on: July 02, 2018, 11:09:06 PM
You can literally get a negative feedback from the DT member for anything.
does that mean DT members can provide negative feedback outside (Type:) already specified?

Definitely, read mine.

They can even leave feedback for poor English skills and have done so.
Your feedback literally says :
Quote
I don't trust this user due to their obvious biased malicious nature. Do your own diligence before dealing with them.
I don't understand the co-relation between  having poor English skills and being biased or whatever Lauda has tagged you for. Either way, their feedback is neutral I don't know what you're talking about.
893  Other / Meta / Re: Signature Campaign which pays for merits? on: July 02, 2018, 11:02:56 PM
I have a better question:  Why did all those people give semux that many merits?  It almost seems to me like people are trying to bribe him or something.
I'm pretty sure they will have a group on telegram which mandatory requires their participants to give some merit to the ANN thread. This shows merit isn't a right metric to prove a good quality poster. People are stupid, meriting such services is useless as they are only here for the project and don't really care of their account's rank. Those merits could have utilised in a better way to rank some newbie up who actually puts efforts in writing something descent.
894  Other / Meta / Re: A question about some email spammers on: July 02, 2018, 10:54:23 PM
I signed up for some airdrops where the spreadsheets make everyone's email public. There have been a few users who take those lists and then spam everyone's email with other airdrops/referrals, etc.
Being manager of one of such bounties where email addresses are listed openly, I can tell you it's not really upto the bitcointalk folks or the managers to act upon it. I have told the team several times about keethe ping the emails hidden or not requiring them for joining bounties, the upper level management strictly denied the proposal and have asked for the emails to send them updates about the ICO. However, no one is forced to join bounties, if you're very much concerned about your email going public, you can either create a new one for the sake of the bounties or not participate at all. The truth is, bounty participants don't care.

I've been able to trace which users are doing this and the airdrops they got the emails from pretty easily. My question is, is this something that users can still get banned for on bitcointalk even though the main spamming took place outside of the forum? And if so, what is the correct way to go about reporting it? Thanks!
If you get an promotional email on bitcointalk, you can report them to the moderator.
895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY]🚀UBCOIN - EXCHANGE CRYPTOCURRENCY FOR REAL GOODS🚀 on: July 01, 2018, 11:57:55 PM
Just Posting it here for Reference : Phase 1 of bounty is over and everyone who participated till June 29th, 2018 will get paid after the stakes are finalised. We need two weeks to finalise the stakes. Also, the bounty Phase 2 starts from 30th of June which will continue till August.
896  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER buyercodesaws on: July 01, 2018, 11:52:23 PM
Noted, Adding up a negative feedback. Strange should not get 11 merits.
The merits are not given by a forum member, those are the default merits given after the system was introduced for his rank. You can check the details here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=914134
Already have loads of neg trust. Should not be trusted
Only if idiots took the negative ratings seriously. He is still bumping his threads and looking for potential customers/ victims.
897  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Drying Up? on: July 01, 2018, 11:40:01 PM
This is also a problem in our local, there are many good posters there and sharing facts and ideas but few people gives merits.
They didn't know that it is hard to create contents and they didn't support each other.
Does your local board have a merit source? If you can tell a good quality post that deserves merits, you may apply as a merit source. That will certainly make things better, wouldn't it?

Some of the high rank members don't want to give some merits because they're happy farming bounties. They forget where they started (local) so they're living happily with their money.
That doesn't make any sense. Should you come across any proof of someone doing it, you should report them. Just posting theories here isn't going to help anyone.
898  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for a+ quality web page for ico altcoin project (bounty up to 500 USD) on: July 01, 2018, 11:29:06 PM
Looking for webpage designed and developed by the same person.

Yes. Escrow is must.
You're sure to get a terrible quality page either in terms of the design or functionality. Good developers are not good designers and the same applies the other way around. PhotoShop experts are used to design web pages for a reason. Developers just code the designs given without modifying anything. Split the bounty in two $250 for designer & $250 for the developer.
899  Other / Meta / Re: How did you lost your bitcointalk account? on: July 01, 2018, 11:09:39 PM
You forgot to mention the most important and the quickest way of losing your account : - * Secret Question. It's common to forget passwords if you're an internet junkie and we often use email as the standard way of resetting them. However, if someone tries to set their passwords through forum's secret question feature, they're locked out of their accounts. Not sure if already done but theymos should really  disable that broken functionality.
900  Other / Meta / Re: I'm just curious about a negative feedback on: June 28, 2018, 09:18:52 AM
The fact they were added to DT is a proof that they leave "accurate" feedback and not based on emotion/conspiracy theories. Their judgement is generally fair and backed up with evidence which show the suspicious nature of the person being marked with a red.
That's not always true. If the DT feedback were so perfect, why would we have a thread about an 'unfair' feedback every other day? The Feedback left by the DT members in most of the cases are rather personal. The judgement doesn't have to be fair nor it is in most of the cases. Giving the ability to a few members to add anybody to the list just shows how centralised the DT system is. To sum it up, people sucking up to each other are often added to the list by biased means. I can show you number of actual contributors to the forum who work hard to keep the forum free of spam/scam and they are no where near that list.

As long as you dont deal in anything shady in the forum you can be safe from getting a negative trust from DT. It is a mark of shame for the potential and proven scammers.
You can literally get a negative feedback from the DT member for anything.

Having said that, you can always customise your DT settings by adding only members whose feedback your consider appropriate.
