881  Other / Meta / Re: Strong need for moderation in the local Indian board on: July 07, 2018, 10:50:56 AM
After the central banks ban on cryptos in India, people will be looking for P2P trading.
Bitcointalk can have provided a platform for such trades. But the marketplace of India is messed up.Full of spam and ICO promotions.

I reported as many posts as I could. But it's going to be very difficult to clean that section without a designated mod.The spam is too much.
Already a thread is created here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3319980.msg34677742#msg34677742 I suppose theymos hasn't found the right person yet. If he's having a hard time finding someone, our Indian community can short-list and suggest 5 candidates which will be further evaluated by theymos to choose the right one.
882  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: thatkid1 scammer sell twitter account on: July 04, 2018, 01:16:30 PM
Still nothing

You should have bought a twitter account from me dude.

Anyone with the name the name thatkid1 is bound to be some broke teenager trying to scam
Economics doesn't prove anyone with the name "Damievande" are legitimate traders as well. As much as I like to applaud your sense of humour, I like to point out the way forum works.
1. It is generally not a good idea to buy/sell accounts of any kind.
2. You should use an escrow while dealing with random people on the internet when your payment methods are irreversible.
883  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philippines as the first country in asia to regulate and accept cryptocurrency.. on: July 04, 2018, 01:10:46 PM
Oh My Gawd! Does that mean the shit posting population on the forum is going to increase exponentially? Imagine the situation now and compare it to what happens once the entire country wants to join bounty and signature campaigns.

Jokes apart, it's a good news but it would be sad for the bounty hunters to pay taxes. You haven't mentioned the tax part which I believe will be applicable once it's regulated.
884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: Paying Beta Testers .003 Eth on: July 04, 2018, 12:53:23 PM
Not interested in your payment but certainly would like to give you constructive criticism.

- Description field after signing up doesn't have a border making it seem empty. Only after the click one realises there is a textbox.
- I know this error would happen. Your server threw an error when I tried uploading a file of 10MB. To be precise 500 Internal Server Error. Handle a fixed profile pic file size on the client side before sending the data on the server. This error resulted in a broken page.
- Selected an invalid file, apart from image and as expected, the server failed again. Handle fileType, fileSize errors on the client side.
-Another bunch of errors I found while tinkering with the pages.

- This has something to do with the popup I guess because screen right now is totally broken with elements aligned at random places.
- The site at this point is just a black and white page with nothing on the screen.
- Everything is so verbose about the website and I'm sure if I start testing the other parts, I will come across many more errors and unhandled exceptions.
885  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: July 04, 2018, 12:21:16 PM
We all know about those shit posts and see them by our own eyes like daily. Was it necessary to start a whole new tread about it? But it's actually good to laugh at some comments you guys posted here Cheesy

The initial purpose of the thread was to post the funniest. Everyone is annoyed by the shitposts but every once in a while there is one that makes you laugh.
To be honest, forum would be a little boring place without all the shit-posts and drama. As much as I love the technical stuff on the forum, I occasionally sneak into threads for a some quick giggles.Off-topic section being my favourite.

Thread : Do you like fishing?

Genius :
i like fishing. i eat fish and rich is very sweet test.when rain come,we always together the pond and river catch the fish.much fish we catch that we are eating. we eat heavy fish than the other food.fish eating is good for health.
886  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto Fraud Investigation on: July 04, 2018, 12:10:33 PM
I am an early Bitcoininvestor and I was really fortunate so far. I came into Cryptocurrencies because I believed (and still do) that it will make our world a better place. Unfortunately everything related to money also attracts fraudsters/imposters of any kind. I would like to give back to the community by dedicating some time into investigation some frauds that i come across.
You're welcome. You might as well give the community back in terms of donating to the open source projects based for bitcoin. Electrum being a good example. Smiley You don't have to worry about ICO frauds, in a coming few months, FBI will do that for us.

I have extensiv forensic experience as an accountant and former employee of a government regulation body. I will try to use my expertise and help the community to see the truth behind scams/frauds and bad/greedy people and bring them to justice.
That sounds great! Can you help a given scam company to be taken to the court or file an allegation against them? For instance, YoBit exchange have robbed thousands of dollars from the traders and yet they're operating nicely.
887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Introduing our CoinBox app, a new crypto portfolio app and it's NOT a scam on: July 04, 2018, 12:05:55 PM
None of the 'crypto-portfolio apps' that I know of are scams? You just help people track and manage their coin related data and not the actual coins right? Never been a fan of portfolio apps but that is the most common niche in this section. We get such apps launched here every week.
888  Economy / Reputation / Re: Spam/alt account ring on: July 04, 2018, 12:03:13 PM
Is it possible to make a local rule, like "digaran is not allowed to post in this thread"?
Not when your thread is not self moderated. You can always create a self moderated thread with a local rule that says diagran is not allowed to post here. They wouldn't post in the thread knowing their posts will be deleted anyway.

Anyway, that thread is nuked.
889  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Fantasy Sports on: July 03, 2018, 11:48:42 PM
This is why they do the introductory offer to test the system out some I guess, seems fair even the biggest companies need revisions to a system to refine it.    I'm able to sign and be in the account but also I'm waiting for the confirmation email to arrive so I can confirm my balance and the bonus is there or not.    Maybe it doesnt like my address, I'll try another one shortly if no joy
The testing should ideally be done before the website goes live. If website is live and one of the customers makes a huge win through a bug, it could be a potential loss for the website or the customer the other way around. It's a common ideology to stress test your servers and do end-end testing before shit goes live especially when you're going to be dealing with someone else's money.

890  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: There are no more escrow services? on: July 03, 2018, 11:44:28 PM
As a new member around here i started talking with another member to buy miners from him etc. I contacted the escrow accounts around here (even the ones that are painted in red now) and nobody responded. I did my research and noticed that most of those accounts are already sold out to scammers. Why there isnt a ban policy for that? Is someone responsible or controlling for that sector, or there is some service here that i don't know of? Please enlighten me. Thank you.  Smiley
- I went through the same phase recently and I can understand how frustrating it could be to find a suitable escrow for your deal. Most of the highly trusted accounts are too busy to reply or just don't have  interest in the deal.

- I would rather go with an escrow who has lesser trust ratings but is very responsive and active whilst the deal is in progress. I suggest messaging Lutpin/minerjones but not sure if they take such deals.
891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: why is there no bitcoin casino with sicbo on: July 03, 2018, 11:39:22 PM
this is my favorite casino game i don't understand why i can't find any site with it that's not restricted.
Lack of interest from the gambling community. Needless to say but people have tried coming up with interesting games in the past but nothing worked out. No one really wants to move from the typical dice and plinko games. So far I have only seen one person mentioning that game.

betcoin.tm has it but i didn't like theirs too laggy, low payouts and i don't trust them
They are known scammers on the forum. Avoid them.
892  Other / Meta / Re: Special Hero question on: July 03, 2018, 11:27:53 PM
My account being a perfect example here. I had 1000 default merit and I think activity as same as the OP but I did not reach the legendary rank
So, if The Pharmacist is right which is HE is right, in the next 4 weeks or less you are going to celebrate your Legendary rank!!! Congratulations in advance mate.  Smiley

That is if he gets the required number of merits for the new rank, his activity might be due for the new rank in next 4 weeks or less just like you said but he also needs the merit to move on to the legendary rank.
I don't know what cave you have been living under but my merits are displayed right there! Minimum required merits to become a legendary are 1000 and if you look at my merits, you shall see I'm pass that.
893  Other / Meta / Re: Should ANN and services threads be excluded from the merit system ? on: July 03, 2018, 11:25:14 PM
ANN Threads - Yes!

That's just awful.  I don't quite get why people are meriting ANN threads.  Are these thread-starters getting some sort of kickback from this?  Is it to get the threads on the "most merited threads" list?  Are people just kissing ass?  I wouldn't think that would be the case, since I can't imagine all these people would throw away their merits on ass-kissing.
- Shit-posters are having a hard time to understand what merit is or how it functions. Legends say, in Indonesia you can buy a pizza in exchange for merits. The number of merit beggars in Philippines have caused a havoc in their economy.

I was thinking about this the other day. Users are just wasting their merit on them to be honest, and they're just needlessly giving them away as a "like" or "thanks" instead of to posts that are actually of substance. Wouldn't surprise me if some of the bounties are requesting that users merit their ANN bounty threads as well in exchange for higher bounties. I wouldn't be against removing the merit button from certain sections and the first post in Ann threads would be a good candidate.
Yes I've seen such cases where the bounty manager asks all the participants to merit the ANN thread as it makes the project look more 'legitimate'. ANN threads will be a good place to block merits.

It could be in the next week as well as it's totally random.Anyway, I honestly don't think it's a big deal to rank up because one can easily buy a legendary account for a couple of hundreds out there.Thank you though! Smiley
895  Other / Meta / Re: Special Hero question on: July 03, 2018, 10:15:02 PM
Edit:  So IF you had the 1000 merits, you might be Legendary at this point, but it wouldn't be guaranteed.  I had to wait until about 1020 activity before I got that status, and that was before the merit system *whew*.
My account being a perfect example here. I had 1000 default merit and I think activity as same as the OP but I did not reach the legendary rank. Like you said it's random when one becomes a legendary while activity being in the scale of 950-1030.
@OP, you have a long way to go.Gaining 500 merits would take a few months unless you do something extraordinary.
896  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: thatkid1 scammer sell twitter account on: July 02, 2018, 11:46:00 PM
I was offline after last conversation and we were in the process of setting up an escrow with Lauda. Seems like you are kind of smart by selectively posting the messages. Either way I just want to settle this as I don't have time to waste to help someone like you. I asked for an escrow as this guy started complaining the issue in publicly on the sales thread. Instead of answering my questions,  he was abusing me and my family. Honestly, that kind of discussions are not common in the place were a live, but I accept the world is not even.
Why initiate a business when you cannot adhere to the deadlines? When the deal was about giving two accounts, it should have been the same way. You disappearing for a 'family vacation' wasn't part of the deal.

I accept that there were delay in responses from my side due to my personal issues and could have communicated properly. Also, the language issues were there and made it complicated. I have even offered compensation to settle this earlier. I don't think I have to do that any more after this.
Glad that you accept it.

Don't expect immediate replied in these days as I don't get much time to be here. I have been to this forum for a while and have made many good relationships here. I don't want to lose everything for a mere $75.
Just lock your sales thread until you have enough time on your hands..
897  Other / Meta / Re: How did you lost your bitcointalk account? on: July 02, 2018, 11:40:18 PM
Apart from your list and what other users posted, there's also "Public Wifi Networks/Connections".
- Here's a useful link: 5 Ways Hackers Can Use Public Wi-Fi to Steal Your Identity
How can they sniff your packets if the site uses an encrypted connection?
There are highly advanced packet sniffers which sit on the remote servers and are capable of doing so without logging the traffic. Anyway, packet sniffing wouldn't work here as the only sensitive data involving accounts is the password which is encrypted and stored in the database as a hash. Such data even if accessed by the packet sniffers won't  be in human readable format.
898  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Fantasy Sports on: July 02, 2018, 11:31:30 PM
a fantastic offer!
if only it was possible to register and take advantage of it....

the problem is that it doesn't allow you to register-you get this nasty undefined popup
do you have restrictions in place? like some countries cannot participate?
Lmao, please post that screenshot in r/ProgrammingHumor. This is the problem why these low tier gambling sites are not to be taken seriously. Product is either coded by someone sitting in the middle east with no solid programming skills or bought as script and built over a HTML template. There is no testing, no security testing, and is released in the broken way as it is. Nope 'undefined' is not a country restriction error, it is a JavaScript bug.
899  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are there any APIs worth making? on: July 02, 2018, 11:21:45 PM
There is no lack in APIs honestly but If you're planning to provide something better when it comes to request limits, features, and competitive rates then people will definitely use it.
Definitely there is! Most of the existing API's revolve around sending/receiving bitcoins, checking balances, trading and other stuff. I don't recollect seeing an API which helps implement a bitcoin mixer and is used by many. Private services don't make their API's accessible to everyone. I'm sure you will find a lot of similar projects which needs a public API.
900  Economy / Services / Re: 🔥🔥 Manual Bitcoin Mixing Service 🔥🔥 on: July 02, 2018, 11:15:40 PM
Please don't accuse of scam, i been on this forum for a while,  i am here for legit service, please try before you blame on me.
Reaching a Full Member Rank - is not a while! You literally have zero reputation on the forum. Your service might be legit but without appropriate references and feedback, one should not blindly trust you.

Just a suggestion : There are enough bitcoin mixers out there which are fast, cheap and reliable. If you can, you should offer mixing services for other bitcoin forks like BCH/BCD/BTH. It will be a growing market in a few days.
