^^ Not sure what you mean by the style of Casimero, it is still the same, he loves to bang and throw those power punches. In short he still fell in love with that kind of strategy.

However, it's obvious that he can't bring his power from 118 to 122 lbs and Oguni proved to be a tough fighter and not just a tune up that maybe Casimero is expecting. And as what others have also seen, he has been exposed to he having no to poor stamina as he looks very tired from round 2.
902  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Drake's Curse. on: October 15, 2023, 08:43:18 PM

Rapper Drake lost $850,000 on Logan Paul's fight with Dillon Danis - despite backing the right man to win. Paul took on Danis over six rounds last night alongside KSI's defeat by Tommy Fury in Manchester. Paul dominated the first five rounds before Danis was disqualified in the final session for attempting to choke out his rival. Paul was declared the winner - but not by knock out as Drake had predicted. The rapper, who is seen as something of a curse given his poor gambling record, had staked $850,000 (£700,000) on Paul to win by stoppage and would have collected $1.3million (£1m) had he been successful.
https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/boxing/drake-logan-paul-danis-bet-31194541

The Drake's Curse.

He lost on the right man. We have experienced losses but not as bad as this...this is just terrible.

What do the gambling folks have to say about this?

That's nothing to Drake though, I mean that's one spin for him in a roulette machine. His betting $1 million per spin and hopefully it land on his favorite number 11, so what are the odds are as compare to his bet on Logan Paul vs Dillon Danis?

Nothing spectacular bet or lose on Drake here. He will just take it on stride and then continue to gamble again and again. Others call it a curse, specially the media or even us ordinary gamblers.

But if you have that deep pocket and the way he play other games like roulette, this is just peanuts for him.
903  Economy / Economics / Re: Global markets brace for fallout as Middle East tensions rise on: October 15, 2023, 08:28:39 PM
The Israeli-Hamas war has sharpened focus on rising geopolitical risks for financial markets, as investors wait to see if the conflict draws in other countries with the potential to drive up oil prices further and deal a fresh blow to the world economy.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed on Sunday to "demolish Hamas" as his military prepared ground operations in Gaza to root out the militant group, whose deadly rampage through Israeli border towns stunned the nation.
Source

The conflict in the Middle East has never subsided, but as stated by several people in this forum, the turmoil in the Middle East did not have a serious impact on the global economy, in contrast to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine which had a very big impact. affect the economy. world.

However, on humanitarian grounds, I really hope that the conflict in the Middle East can soon subside, so that every country can gain its own independence and everyone can live in peace and tranquility. So that the economic activities of each country can run smoothly.

I guess the effect will be is that the Middle East will turn into another ground for war. Meaning, collectively as a Muslim, they will have to take sides, and obviously we know where they will be siding on this one, so it will be a regional war that could drag for years and so the death toll would rise.

Although there is a brief increased on the price of the oil as reported here, Oil prices jump more than 4% in the wake of Hamas attack on Israel. So that's already a bad news.

Hopefully they can go and find a peaceful negotiations with nation in the middle or a truce should be in effect.
904  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Distinguishing Between Bitcoin Halving And Crypto Burn on: October 15, 2023, 02:55:20 PM
This is my very first time hearing that someone is confused between Bitcoin Halving and Crypto Burns. In my opinion the term is really self-explanatory. Halving with Burns is very different activity, and I don't think there is any similarity between the mechanism whatsoever. Crypto burns will reduce the total supply and sometimes also reduced the circulating supply if the coin that will be burnt is obtained by buying them back from the market, this activity will instantly and automatically affect the scarcity of the market, and this could be considered as market manipulation for some people. While Bitcoin Halving is not reducing Bitcoin supply, neither the total or circulating supply, the halving activity will not directly affect the scarcity of Bitcoin, if the demand of Bitcoin is low then the halving itself wont make Bitcoin become more 'scarce'.

Yeah, most likely those who are familiar with 'crypto burn' might be dealing more on the altcoin side (no offense to them). But for members here who started with bitcoin first, they know what bitcoin halving is and most likely experience it recently.

So I guess if we are in this board, then I don't see any confusion. On the contrary, those bitcoin enthusiast might have heard this term for the first time. But I doubt that they are going to be confused by it. But thanks to the OP for bringing that up.
905  Economy / Reputation / Re: Murat Scammed 62k Metropoly token on: October 15, 2023, 01:53:34 PM
Hold them till fees drop (could be weeks / months)
Go out of pocket (might be well more then you charged them to run the campaign)
Ask for donations from the people who participated (and watch the screaming / scam complaints come flying in)
Send them with the fee that was agreed and hope for the best (and deal with those issues)
Other?Huh

Even if you go with a low cost chain, in the weeks & months between the start and end of the campaign and the distribution, who knows what can happen.

I wonder how many such tokens/projects and bounty campaigns are needed to make hunters think about participating in them. For a long time, all such campaigns have been worthless or at best a miserable value, but I still see that all campaigns are crowded with hunters.
Spending time on something that maybe, a big maybe, someday, in a year or two, will have value, in my opinion, is crazy. If we add to that, only a few projects (out of tens of thousands) have survived for more than two years, the matter seems even worse.

Yeah, there's a lot of precedent before, even at the height of ICO way back in 2017 wherein there were some bounty campaigns that turns out to be lucrative. But after that it all went downhill as 90% of the project turns out to be a scam and some bounty managers have been dragged about it.

But still though, even after that, the community has grown so much that those who join still believed that bounty hunting are considered a day job a regular 8 hours or more in this forum and then in the end, this bounty hunters end up with nothing.
906  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 15, 2023, 12:39:36 PM
I know it's only preseason but I will be the first to admit I might be wrong about wemby.  Dude is a monster.  I thought he might not he strong enough to hang inside in the NBA and think I'm wrong after watching a couple of preseason games.  Now I know the regular season is very different he looks like he has the goods to hold up.  Hope the kid stays injury free to see how good he can get.  That's the worry with these big guys
I wish so too. Injuries suck. It can ruin anyone in their early career, I mean look at Zion having trouble getting the trust back from his own fanbase in New Orleans or outside. Then there's Greg Oden, a big waste of a big man because of injuries too. 7 knee injuries, the biggest bust of all time as they call it.
Wemby is so tall, that one bad injury in the lower part of his body could mean his career getting done. I do wish he could take care of himself like other tall guys did. I bet Timmy will help him with that, I hope. So that the Spurs can get back on track and win championships again.
There's a lot of hype about Wemby and I think he is living up to all that hype about him, for now. Let's just hope that he will remain being healthy while still being aggressive on the basketball floor.

Yeah, it's really bad with a basketball player didn't reach his full potential because of nagging injuries, like Zion in the last 2-3 years wherein he will start the season very healthy and suddenly goes out. Or even Lonzo Ball, we really don't know if he can comeback as himself, although there are players like Klay and KD who make a great comeback after torn meniscus.

So let's just hope that Wemby, with his trainer and strength coach can do wonders with him and prevent him from experiencing a injuries. So it's important as well that his support system is there for him as they have a huge investment on this kid and hope that one day it could reward them by winning championship again for the franchise.
907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tszyu vs. Mendoza Confirmed for WBO Title Showdown on October 15th on: October 15, 2023, 06:07:38 AM
I thought that I bet on Mendoza has some chances, hehehe, he really did good up to the 5th round though. And then Tim took over from round 6 and I thought that he is going to be the first man to knockout Mendoza.

But kudos to him for a valiant fight, he had a good strategy early to run circles and pot shot Tszyu. But Tim stayed with his game plan and then in the middle rounds, it was clear that Mendoza is fading out and Tim just continue to go and pounce him with upper cut and good combination.

So maybe after this win, Jermell will be ready next year so that we will see them fight for the undisputed belt at 154 lbs.
908  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is horse racing so unpopular here and a bit of extra feedback on: October 14, 2023, 02:59:32 PM
I only know local horse though, and I would say that I was brought up by my father as this is one of the favorite sports he loves to bet when he was still alive and I still remember when I was a little boy him winning what we call Winner Take All (WTA).

I become addicted as well, like the in the early 2000 to like 2010.

However, when our government started to crack down illegal horse betting, then me and my friends started to slow down and suddenly we just stop. So I haven't bet for a while while although I will still some in my facebook friends on how it is going. Specially around Christmas time, there are a lot of special races to bet.

But I'm not sure if others as well are into horse racing here, and I could speculate that maybe a few might want to bet on it.
909  Economy / Speculation / Re: $35,000-$37,000 for Bitcoin in 2023 as my peaking barrier, is breakout feasible? on: October 14, 2023, 02:05:00 PM
We have like 3 months to go before the end of the year and we might be borderline going to see $30k or not. But next year though, before the block halving, we might see the price somewhat around $40k'ish, at least that's what my prediction is. I doubt that we will see some kind of ETF approval there will be another delays but hopefully if everything has settled down, maybe the best time to get an approval is next year, after the block halving so that it will be one of the catalyst for a massive bull run that everyone is expecting. But in any case, for the sake of discussion and the end of the bear market, for me, the peak will be around $35k-$40k pre halving price.
You have a good point, this year is almost gone, though not all hope is lost. The Israel-Palestine issue is another bearish signal, who knows how long it will drag Bitcoin with it? For this and more, it might be difficult to see Bitcoin moving excellently this year, not even for the ETF. People are overhyping this ETF of a thing, it can't move Bitcoin significantly as many think.

Oh yes, we unfortunately have another world event that might have direct or indirectly affect the market, we are already in the bear market, but this kind of events will shake our ecosystem again as we al know that everything is tied, financials, the world market, events.

But yeah, all hope is not lost. We just have to endure and face it directly and just hope for the best.

And when everything settles down at least for this year. We might see some light at the start of 2024 as we will having the bitcoin halving. And just like the pandemic in 2020 where it's also the halving year. Bitcoin wasn't deter at all and on the contrary it proves as a hedge for this kind of events.
910  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Is Better Than Digital Gold on: October 14, 2023, 01:54:10 PM
The connection between gold and bitcoin (BTC) as stores of value is obvious, and the demand for BTC as a digital store of value was a big reason why the cryptocurrency grew in popularity, crypto services provider Matrixport said in a report Monday.
Bitcoin’s market capitalization is $540 billion, equivalent to 10.8% of the market cap of physical financial gold, Matrixport said, adding that gold exchange-traded-funds (ETFs) are valued at $200 billion. Read

I think I am not the first to mention the word "diversification of investments". I would not invest in one asset, there are always alternatives, there are always risks. Therefore, the answer is simple - yes, both assets can be considered investment attractive, but to reduce risks it is better to invest partially in both assets

Yes, as we mature, we learned about diversification. We are not talking about investing in altcoin or any other crypto if we have Bitcoin already. What we mean is to diversify our portfolio with different assets, golds, or any other previous metals. And then we could have a piece of land, or a property that can be turn into like a house.

So in any case that your other investments didn't return as expected, you still have others in those other basket of yours.

At least you have multiple sources of your income and money is going to come no matter what.

913  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tszyu vs. Mendoza Confirmed for WBO Title Showdown on October 15th on: October 14, 2023, 12:25:37 PM
Hmm, I might go with Mendoza here, just to have fun watching the fight and the odds are still very good as he is the underdog. I know that Tim is very tough and hard to beat in his hometown, but he shouldn't slept on Mendoza and be over confident and Mendoza has the power to knock him out with just one punch.

Again, this will be my bet and hopefully I can watch this fight live either from someone who is going to share links here.

Or just go with our favorite free streaming, which is Facebook as there could be boxing fans as well that is going to stream it live.

Quote
The Asian Games men's basketball gold will stay with the Philippines, according to Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Rep. Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino.
Tolentino explained that the gold medal will only be forfeited if two of Brownlee's teammates also fail the doping test, citing the Article 11.2 of the Anti-Doping Rule of the International Olympic Committee.

915  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Scam Tether Airdrop Website on: October 13, 2023, 11:10:16 PM
And I don't think there is a Tether airdrop though?

@SFR10 - yeah, might give it a try mate and see how it goes. But I do agree, some of my reports to registrar was also ignored. I will just received a generic responses from them but no concrete actions on their side. If they do like shut down this kind of website, it could be detrimental to their business and maybe this scammers will look to other registrar.
916  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bye Bye Bear Market :) on: October 13, 2023, 06:45:25 PM
yes this Fluctuating month is the preparing stage for halving as we have repeated history after every four years and in these fours years there is ups as well as downs so those holders who are not willing to get profit make wrong decisions while on other hands those who are in need of money decide by using the strength of their experience.

Price between 25k$ and 27k$ shows that the market is not experiencing more dip but it will further show an elevated record in price. Market movement between 25k$ and 27k$ does not mean that forever it will remains at this point and we also cannot find out that is it really a bear market or not but we have confirmed knowledge that before halving same situations was happened four years ago so we should also bear these situations as fruitful results are coming soon.

I see that market conditions are still sluggish here and there due to unsupportive macroeconomic conditions, especially interest rates which are still high. Well, this condition causes little money entering the crypto market so that the price of Bitcoin has not soared or increased and this is normal because in my opinion it is part of the market cycle.

And after almost a month, the same pattern emerges, we are still in the sideways pattern. We did have a good price movement above $27k, but that is the highest price we got so far for this month. And if we talk about volume, not that much either.

So yeah, it will continue to be sluggish, the conditions around the world is not helping as well. We have seen fresh war in the Middle East and it might contribute to the slowness not just by crypto market, but all financial and traditional market as well.

No trash talking between the two, they give each other respect. Even the dad of David is giving credit for Andrade being a Olympic and a great boxer.

Hopefully this can live up to the hype. Two undefeated boxers, maybe the winner getting Canelo next for the undisputed belt. Let's see how David will respond against a southpaw in Andrade.
918  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Prosecution to use Caroline Ellison notes as evidence against SBF on: October 13, 2023, 06:16:53 PM

It's really funny reading that he was even nurturing the thoughts of becoming the president of united states, the most powerful country on earth. What a joke! I wonder how he could have achieved this because he certainly cannot bribe his way to the white house. Well, his presidential dreams are not yet shattered, it's well intact. I guess he can still become the president while cooling off in prison, I mean the president of inmates. Grin
Your sense of humor is soothing..  Grin..He wouldn't call it bribing, mind you. Call it a generous donation towards a future course. Sam will tell you he acted like any businessman would; giving something to expect something in return. I still don't understand what gives him the belief he can be able to run a country like America because for all we know, he has no political bone in his body! The only thing linking him with politics is his generous donations and that's that. Except he'd play the role of ceremonial leader, while his vice does all the work. That's if he gets the chance.
Quote
The trial is getting interesting and Caroline Ellison is singing like a canary, she's spilling many secrets of Sam Friedman shady dealings and I hope he gets nailed for his crimes very soon.
You shouldn't blame our dear Carol! She saw an out and she took it. It's not as if what she's saying are accusations. I feel it's this way because Sam Bank Friedman committed the crime and is trying to shift most of the blame on her.

Yes, and I think even though she pleaded guilty, but being the star witness, for sure her lawyer has work out something and she could be out of the jail very early. So he is telling everything in court just to save face.

But I do agree that there could be a lot of drama, pointing finger and accusations, kind of manipulation and this for sure will be used by Carol on his side that somewhat all the blame is to be put on SBF. Also I like to see CZ getting on the witness stand, hehehe.
919  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Keep your crypto holdings secure!!! on: October 13, 2023, 06:02:49 PM
It happened 2 years ago?

Actually if you read closely with another links in the news, it says that it started at 2019. And the Indian authorities has a hard time tracing the source, until Israel Mossad informed them that the wallet according to them belong to the leader of the Hamas group and so India knows the connection now.

I agree to those folks that are saying that whoever is the group behind the robbery, it's still going to depend on how we're keeping ourselves secure and we shouldn't trust any custodial wallet for keeping our wallets.

I remember that there's also this type of news from Afghanistan after the taking over of Taliban. I guess these news will always connected to the current news and affairs but in relation with that, we have to be responsible on how we keep our funds and what wallets we use.

Yes, regardless who's entities is the hackers are, we should be very vigilant on who we deal with as far as our cryptocurrencies goes. We must practice safe hygiene so that we won't get hack even by our neighbours. It's that it is just being magnified right now because of the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.
920  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: October 13, 2023, 05:45:54 PM
The worst thing about this fight for Casimero he is getting hurt by punches from a guy who is not known to be a knockout artist and has a low knockout percentage, unless he shows something in his next fight, I'm afraid Casimero's career will be over in a couple of years.

Yeah, he was exposed big time. Casimero lacks the stamina of a true champion. He just relied on that one big punch that might not land as Oguni was also intelligent and he countered every punch that Casimero threw. If no changes on the trainer and conditioning coach/nutritionist then i agree with you that Quadro Alas' career will be over in a couple of years. That kind of performance was B level and he will just last 3 or 4 rounds if his opponent is Inoue.

Right, a supposedly tune up fight for him turns out to be a disaster, as he was visibly looks very turn from the start of the fight. And just like those big punchers, they are looking for that one lucky punch that will change the complexion of the fight itself and Casimero wasn't able to hit Oguni. Although he still has the power, very hard to see how he can the face of 122 lbs with this kind of another controversial technical draw.

So I'm not seeing any Inoue fight for him in the future, and for sure there will be a lot of bashers on Casimero because of the result of this fight. And with this kind of performance, I'm seeing that it is the start of his decline, sad to say.
