921  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - Nov 15 on: September 08, 2023, 04:50:18 PM
I would like to see Jerwin becoming champion again but I actually voted for Takuma by decision. Jerwin is going to get schooled if he is not bringing something new to his technique.

He faced two losses against the same opponent, Fernando Daniel Martinez. Given that Takumi's upcoming opponent might have a different fighting style, there might not be a pressing need for him to change his own style. Both camps will undoubtedly study their opponent and develop a strategy they believe will work best.

Honestly, I haven't observed anything particularly exceptional from Takumi, and despite Jerwin facing some challenges lately, I still believe he has what it takes to be victorious in this match.

It's quite too late for Jerwin Ancajas to learn a new technique just to increase his chances against Takuma Inoue and to the other guys in this weight class, as they say, you cannot teach the olds dogs to learn some new tricks. I say that Jerwin will stick to what he knows and will just study Takuma even further to increase his chances rather than perfecting a new technique that doesn't even guarantee anything, instead, it will put him to a risk because he's not even accustomed to it.

I guess not new technique, but some fighting style, as we have seen him falling in love with his one punch knockout that they change the fight on his favor. But Takuma is more of a boxer, not a brawler type so it will be a contrasting clash of styles between the two.

And with that, if Jerwin, will rely on his power, it might take him the full twelve rounds just to land that one solid punch. So at least adjust his style with the type of fight that Takuma will offer to him.

I agree and furthermore, it's kind of risky for him too if he will use the same style which he is known for when he was still in the lower weight class as I think that it's one of the few reasons why he lost twice against Martinez because he did let himself to be an open book to the opposing camp.

And in this case, we can assume already that Takuma is also working to counter those style because even if that might be predictable already but it's still deadly if he will get himself hit by it. And what Ancajas needed to do right now is to be versatile enough so that he won't be predicted that easily specially in this case where he has an advantage.

Right, as I have said, fighters should mature after their first or even second lost. They will have to understand that it's not always Plan A for them. There are different scenarios that Ancajas should be ready in the second fight against Martinez but nothing has change.

But here, in this new weight class, it's not all about the power, it's going to be a thinking game as well. Like you said, Takuma is not well known for his power and yet he has won the belt. Because he has that intelligent and hopefully the camp of Ancajas will have a good game plan here, otherwise it will be Ancajas 3rd lost in 4th fight which is not good for the former champion.

923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: September 07, 2023, 02:22:53 PM
Germany vs. USA will be battling in the semi-final round. Although Germany is surely an underdog, I believe this team could match the USA due to their great chemistry. Let us not forget that they are undefeated in the FIBA World Cup, while the USA has lost once. Hopefully, Dennis SCHRODER will have a good game and bounce back after a not-so-good performance in their last game. This is their ticket to the Finals, and beating the USA would give them very good momentum to face the winner of Serbia vs. Canada.

Germany though is a huge underdog, -10.5 against the US. While Canada is -5.5 against Serbia. So if there will be a close match in the semis, it will be Canada vs Serbia.

US might have to lock in Dennis the Menace and that's it, they will have a good chance to win and might cover the spread. As against the Canada that might go against a Serbian team that might be looking for an upset in this FIBA World Cup.
924  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: SEC vs NFTs on: September 07, 2023, 02:09:59 PM
But if there are clear cut laws, then for sure NFT or projects are going to carry it out within the boundaries so that they won't violate any laws established. But for now, it seems that we are in the western type of era. SEC can swing at anyone they want, and then projects, some of them might be pulling out scams after scams.
I believe that is the key problem. No regulation certainty allows many things to happen, either abuse from the government or just scams running around with little to no incentive to stop them. Things like this should not last that long. I don't know why it takes so long for regulations to come out either, considering other countries already propose many bills to be approved. On the other hand, people need to improve their awareness so they don't have to rely on the law to avoid easy-to-spot scams like NFT airdrop, etc. CMIIW.

Yes, there is no clear regulations and that's why projects are taking advantage of it, be it they are going to scam or not. So at the end of the day, it boils down as to how and what will be the regulations and when it will be promulgated by the SEC or any governing body for that matter.

So for now, as I have said, it's free for all, but when crypto regulations are point into place by different countries, this scammers will have no way to steal money from crypto investors again.
925  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will ETFs pump BTC to $100k soon? on: September 07, 2023, 01:14:34 PM
Grayscale is about to launch a Bitcoin ETF soon. They've recently won a lawsuit in court against the SEC. Other companies (eg: BlackRock) are considering doing the same. If these large-scale investment companies join the "Bitcoin train", do you think market prices will "pump"? How would this positively affect BTC in the long term? Do you think it's possible the cryptocurrency will reach $100k if ETFs are approved by the US regulatory agency (SEC) before the halving of 2024?

Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

Depends on the timing of the approval though, if this happens in after the block halving or at least we are in the bull run cycle, possible that this could be the biggest catalyst for a prediction of 6 digits in the next bull run resulting in a new all time high.

We for now we can't say for certain though, it's really one of the biggest news in the next coming years as we all know that BlackRock has the reputation to back their application up. So everything rest on the hands of SEC.
926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Frank Martin - tentative date 11/16 or 12/9 on: September 07, 2023, 12:57:36 PM
It might a good fight in paper, but I'm seeing Stevenson winning in the hands of the judges.

Same thought here mate, Shakur is the next big name in boxing if handled properly. With this announcement, his supposed fight with Loma is off by now but the good thing with Frank Martin is that the latter has no loss on his record, this might add curiosity on some so that they will watch this fight but the truth is, this is a fight where Shakur will win no matter what as he can't afford to have a backslide on his glamorous career.

This is also what I'm thinking, because Shakur might try to go for a couple of rounds and see how Frank Martin will react and then adjust his game plan. And although he has a decent power, he is not a knockout artist in the mold of Tank Davis.

So very careful in the beginning and then just starts to get hot in the middle of the round and takes over and win by a good score in the judges hand. And as what we have been wanting to see, him and Haney at 135 lbs will be good for a unification fight.

928  Economy / Gambling discussion / [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Frank Martin - tentative date 11/16 or 12/9 on: September 06, 2023, 10:23:37 PM

https://twitter.com/ESPNRingside/status/1699108446136852975

So we have another good fight in the horizon here. Shakur Stevenson will finally have a dance partner in Frank Martin. And it's interesting as the rivalry between the two camps, Crawford, who obviously will back Shakur here, against a fighter of Spence in Frank Martin.

Shakur is rank #2, while Frank is rank #4. And perhaps the winner here might go after the WBC champion in Devin Haney (although he doesn't want no part of Shakur hehehe as he has plan to move up in weight class and fight Regis Prograis).

With that, this is very exciting fight, and for sure there will be a lot of trash talking here. And we will see if Shakur technical abilities will be too much for Frank Martin to overcome.
929  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: SEC vs NFTs on: September 06, 2023, 09:48:46 PM
The Securities and Exchange Commission has found a new target, apparently large whales are too tough for it. And how many such projects have been launched ... lol.
Businesses should ensure they abide by the laws or regulations before engaging in any form of business activity. Carrying out an unregistered business in not acceptable and SEC should not be blamed for going after them. I don't see it as a witch-hunt but the SEC is carrying out its regulative function. These NFT tokens need strong regulations because it has become a free market for scams.

Yeah, but the thing though, crypto market is fairly young an we really don't know what's their regulation about the market itself. And we have seen them making contractions as well, so I will say that we are in the gray area as far as crypto or for SEC for that matter.

But if there are clear cut laws, then for sure NFT or projects are going to carry it out within the boundaries so that they won't violate any laws established. But for now, it seems that we are in the western type of era. SEC can swing at anyone they want, and then projects, some of them might be pulling out scams after scams.

931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 06, 2023, 09:08:52 PM
I still think that they are lacking a great shooter, I do not mean like someone such as Curry, I mean like some Kyle Korver/JJ Reddick type of guy that would play either PG or SG, that would be great. With a team of basically Reaves, Lebron, AD and Wood, they would definitely have a great four, and with a good shooter that would be amazing for them for sure.

I think the Lakers have history of great shooters since they won their championship. Players like Danny Green, KCP, Monk and others that I can't remember. But it seems that they have abandoned this strategy when they have Ham as coach.

As for Wood, yeah could be a great addition, at least a good men to help AD. We all know that or at least the media says that they are looking for a big men and I thought that they might get Dwight Howard again. But at least they fall on a young player, who still has a lot of good basketball years ahead of him and we saw what he can do when he was with the Rockets years ago.

933  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin on Weekly looks Dangerous on: September 03, 2023, 10:48:44 AM
This week of course makes us worried because it has dropped more than 14%, although today it can return to $ 26k, but many are worried if the bear market continues, even many analysts believe that the price will fall below $ 20k, we will see in 2 or 3 days if the price will drop below $20k.

It did return to $27,500. Unfortunately, in the last 2 days or at least at the start of the months, seems to be that the price did decline to below $26k. Now, we are in the $25,700. Although it did hold, perhaps we might see a decline again, just saying. The market sentiments seems to be negative as investors might be selling again pulling the price down.

Or we could be seeing a sideways pattern, maybe tops of $28k this month. So we will see, with how the volatility is, really hard to predict what will be the short term price or at least for this month alone.
934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Slot Streamers on: September 03, 2023, 10:12:46 AM
One thing I'm certain about is that the streamers that are in partnership with a particular casino and use that casino to gamble on stream are actually provided with money by the casino to be used while they are gambling on stream and the reason for that is because whatever they do must be entertaining so that their viewers also choose that casino for their gambling activities, it's a part of their promotional campaign with the casino platform.

Yes for sure, this streamer works for the casino so they live stream using the casino's money. Maybe they got money from the casino, or their balance was refilled by the casino (fake money). So the streamers do not benefit from their winnings, but are paid by the casino to play gambling with livestreams.

Or maybe those streamers get the money to play in casinos by referrals. As far as I know, they get a lot in referrals than trying their luck on those online casinos. And yes, there are some streamers that was being in contact with the casino to do the promotion and get the money by it. Streamers more like not spending a penny but earning by playing/promoting.

Yes, probably that's one case, and if you sign under him, there will be a huge giveaway. For example Drake, he is giving like $20k when he has his live streaming and then he has to pick someone to give that money. And they pick those lucky ones from the one that have a referrals under him. At least that's how I understand how he picks those people as he had said it once.

And so in turn, they also getting a lot of money from those who sign under them specially that plays a lot as well, with thousands or even millions of money. Anyhow, I just watch those streamers though, and I feel the emotions when they win big or lose big.  Grin
935  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Honestly, Bitcoin fits in this gap more than others. on: September 03, 2023, 09:47:39 AM
Come to think of it

Bitcoin is the most reliable digital currency that everything in the world today should move closer to, but the greediness and power in men won't let them.

They can't control it, and that's why they hate it.

It's obvious that they don't want to relinquished power to the people, but we all know that it's hard to stop bitcoin. Maybe in the next 10-20 years, Bitcoin could really be universally accepted by governments.

Being decentralized is a part why the government should embrace Bitcoin in the world today, it's the only digital currency that can bring peace if allowed as a means of payment around the country.

Not really sure what you mean by peace, and I think this is the wrong mindset for Bitcoin though. It is not a magic bean that can solved every human problems that we have.

So it's going to be a big in the future though, our ecosystem will remain no matter what kind of regulations government are going to imposed. They really have to accept it.
936  Economy / Economics / Re: Real estate vs cryptocurrencies vs business on: September 03, 2023, 09:22:22 AM
~ But if you want to generate income directly, the solution is to invest in the property sector directly. For example buying land or fruit plantations. Which will continue to produce fruit that is harvested and sold each season. The price of land increases every year and every season we can earn money from harvesting fruit.

The point is a lot can be done with that kind of money. Maybe only about 5-10 percent that I will invest in crypto.

But are you sure that the price of every land increases every year? I still think investing in lands is a bit like gambling: you can win but you can lose also. You are saying that you'd invest in crypto 5-10 percent, but how much you'd invest in land? 90-95%? That could be a mistake. If you have little to no experience in this field, it's very likely that you'll be screwed and will buy a land that will depreciate in the future.

Not only that, there is also a big risk there, I have in that kind of business, and there are years that because of nature, like floods, so you can't really harvested 100%. And then there is the price, that sometimes there are cartel that can manipulated the price of let's say a grain and so you the profits might not be that huge.

And there are when markets are saturated, of course the price will be done as there are a lot of supplies. So it's not that easy to just buy lets say a hectare or whatever, and just just plant fruits or anything that you will harvest after 5-6 months.
937  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Effective and Intelligent Solutions to Propel Future Bitcoin Price Surge on: September 02, 2023, 11:13:57 PM
While predicting the future price of Bitcoin is inherently uncertain, there are several plausible solutions that could contribute to a potential price surge. A combination of mass adoption, regulatory clarity, technological improvements, institutional investment, global economic conditions, and educational efforts could collectively drive demand and value for Bitcoin in the years to come.

We can hope that positive developments will create real demand, but it will more likely create hype for speculative trading like it did in the past. 2021 market was full of hype about institutional adoption, and the price crashed after it. 2017 was the hype of blockchain revolution, and it crashed. 2013 was the hype of Bitcoin adoption and it crashed.

True, since Bitcoin become a speculative asset, store of value, it will create a lot of hype specially around the bull run. We just don't know what will be the hype next, in 2024-2025 wherein we expect that the price will hit at least 6 digits. I think it will be more likely driven by the Bitcoin ETF approval and so more money will flow again. But after that, go back to normal again.

In any case though, we have LN for smaller and faster transactions. But for the majority, what we wanted to see is that it be accepted universally, regardless if the mempool is clogged or not.
938  Economy / Speculation / Re: Impact of bitcoin price speculations on individual bitcoin holding on: September 02, 2023, 10:50:12 PM
The best DCA approach os to buy at the lower level and sell at the top of the price, it not good to buy at the top because doing so will affect your overall DCA strategy since you will eventually be at lose in the shot while when the price of bitcoin will nose dive to correct the market at that point.
Is there any way to truly know the top? When people make comments about selling at the top and buying  at the bottom for a trending market, it always sound like complex to me because market can give several supposed tops within a short period.

None, there is no way for us to know the top, and for that matter, the bottom price. That's why if we know TA, it could help us a bit. But there are a lot of factors to look at and maybe the best approach for us know where to sell is to weight everything on your end.

Furthermore,  I don't know the approach other people uses but to me the best is to sell Bitcoin strictly base on needs and not because I want to make quick profit. Although I am holding for long so my approach might be a kind of different from others. With DCA, I wouldn't want to sell to replenish later as there are high chances that when you sell, you will never replenish your portfolio to the Bitcoin quantity you sold off.

And that's why we always say invest what you can afford to lose. I mean if you need the money, yeah you can sell it the best time that you think. But if you are here for the long run, maybe at least one bear/bull cycle, then it could really benefit you from seeing huge profits specially when you sell at about the peak of the bull run. Or even if you sold when the price is going down, I still think you can make profits as long as the selling point is on the bull run.
939  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: P2P Scams : Where does the government stand on: September 02, 2023, 10:32:05 PM
Yes, same here and that is exactly my point mate. This criminals will go to this lengths to get all the information and this are going to be used and will be at their disposal whenever they created accounts in exchange, maybe hire someone as well to take selfies and that's it.

That's why even here in the Philippines, there are a lot of P2P scams attempts already and for sure there are a lot of victims. But governments and police can't do anything about it even if you get all the information from exchanges because they are all false.
Warn everyone you can.

Yes, that's what I did, I put a warning in our local board so that no one can fall for it. I even try to track that account after he try to scam me and the exchange favor my side that no money was sent to my wallet, hence it was really a scam attempt.

But it's going to be a long battle for us, scammers will try to create a new account after I exposed one of them. But the battle will continue though, if I encounter a new one, definitely I will give another warning.

Fight week already for Liam Smith vs Chris Eubank Jr - rematch.

Here is the final press conference, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSmMnrxZeRc.

If you will remember, Smith knockout Eubank in their first fight 7 months ago. I was never expecting that, I thought that the bigger guy Eubank could have broken down Smith.

But Liam proved otherwise, he talk trash, but he did what he exactly told in the press conference back then.

Odds not yet odd in my favorite crypto sports bookies though.

This is the last ML odds I have seen before fight, so Smith is the slight favorite.

Smith - 1.64
Eubanks 2.24

So the fight has started already, I have Eubanks ahead after two rounds. He was using his jab in this fight and trying to be very careful not to get hit again. Smith might just be starting slow in this fight, but once he got hot and the his rhythm it will be a war.

Let's see how the fight goes.

Edit: Smith goes down in round 4. Eubanks dominating this fight.
Edit 2: Smith goes down again in round 10, then Eubanks go for the kills, Referee stop the fight. The underdog Eubanks wins.
