1881  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallet address and the mistake some might make on: July 21, 2022, 02:21:47 AM
First, I honestly recommend you to improve your writing
  • Most importantly, please use punctuation properly. With this post, I am breathless when I read it.
  • The side effect of no or incorrect use of punctuation is: you are challenging readers to understand what you write.

During cryptocurrency transaction and when receiving cryptocurrency coins we do make use of the wallet address which known as a special identifier that provide location to receive coins and the issue new traders or not expert
They have to learn about wallet and addresses. In one wallet, there are lot of receiving addresses. Wallet is like a building, with many apartments inside. If you own a wallet, you own all receiving addresses inside.

Quote
In cryptocurrency faces or might face is mistaking another alphabet or number for another or capital alphabet use in the place of a small alphabet in which each letter carries his own identification and using capital letter where to use Small letter might cause your transaction fail or you will not receive your fund.
And also the alphanumeric must be complete and no one should missed ,so it might not cause failure in your transaction.
Make sure you make a trial (should be very small like a dust transaction) to test that the address you sent your Bitcoin to is valid.

Quote
So that is why is advised to copy and paste the wallet address and send to the sender of the coin and not typed.
Be careful with malwares. As a crypto user, you must keep your device clean. Prevention is better than cure.
1882  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin bottom there yet? Fear & Greed, Pi Cycle Top / Bottom on: July 21, 2022, 01:51:54 AM
People saying  it wont drop again like a miracle just happenned and the world economy is back on its feet again
I did not make that call. I hope you read what I wrote correctly.  Wink

My call is bottom is somewhere around already for long term investors. Again, real investors, not speculators or gamblers who have no knowledge about Bitcoin, zero belief in Bitcoin, they are shit pseudo-Bitcoin investors.

Additionally, I emphasized clearly that if we skip all sorts of indicators, simply look at the price chart, it is very possibly to see Bitcoin drops back to $13k to $15k. It can drop there, stay there for months but it can be only a very flash crash, then V-shape recovery which triggers a new bull run.

I clearly mentioned that capitulation is different than panic sell or selling to cover temporary bills. Cheesy

Quote
We are still deep in shit, the next months will determine a lot, however, there are no clear indications that the world economy has rebounced
Yeah, when all shit is reflected in panic sell already and when panic is gone, sun will shine. We are in a black swan time, periodically after around 10 years. The world doesn't end after each ten years.
1883  Other / Meta / Re: Museum of Bitcoin, Bitcointalk avatars [Community-led] on: July 20, 2022, 03:28:22 PM
There is a small mistake on the signatures with the BTC logo in the front. The whole coin does not fit in the signature space and the shadow below overflows and is not displayed. You can see it in PX-Z's signature:

If you select the signature you can see an extra square beneath "Whitepaper"

There are 4 whitespaces before these tags you can delete and would solve this:
Code:
[size=7pt][font=Arial black][color=#55C1FE][/color][/font][/size]
Nice findings!

I am not signature designer and don't know about that. Thank you for your heads up. I followed your guide and edit it a bit. Hope that all is well now!

1885  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin bottom there yet? Fear & Greed, Pi Cycle Top / Bottom on: July 20, 2022, 01:23:35 PM
What I like most about this indicator is that it considered $65K top in April to be the cycle top, as opposed to $69K in November. This is what makes a cycle low 15 months later a lot more realistic, otherwise the expectation for many would be a low at the end of the year (12 months after the ATH). The idea that price won't fall below $20K ever again is starting to look quite likely now imo.

I still remember this indicator calling the cycle top in April last year, and it seemed irrelevant (an anomaly even), but now is starting to make a lot more sense.
Reject to call $69k in November as a top but call $65k in April is a top makes sense if you consider trading volume.

After topping up to $65k in April, trading volume decreases gradually and even when price touches to $69k in November, trading volume is still low. That makes sense because to make a new real all time high, Bitcoin must have higher trading volume. Something as a volume explosion. Volume is key for price ride but it is not what we get in November.
1886  Other / Meta / Re: Merit source observations on: July 20, 2022, 11:34:09 AM
I made a comment that it was obvious he was mistaking post length for post quality and that what he'd written was bloated beyond belief.  So yeah, in cases like those you know it when you see it.
Neatly, it is in welcome message from theymos. Let me quote it again!
If you want to maximize your rank, then you need to increase two statistics which are listed on your profile:
    • Merit, which is gained by making good posts.

If you make ten thousand posts in a week, your activity will be capped and you will still be a Newbie. If you make ten thousand useless posts over any period of time, you will gain zero merit and you will still be a Newbie. You can rank up only by making good posts consistently. It's quality over quantity.

When trying to write quality posts, a lot of people act as though they're writing a book report for school: putting facts that we already know into their own words. Nobody wants to read that, and you will not get merit for it. Moreover, the length of your post and the quality of your English are only minor factors. In trying to write a quality post worthy of merit, you should offer new ideas, personal experiences, or perspectives that other forum users will actually find new and interesting.
They try to write too long posts that have side effects on readers. Sometimes, readers don't read all the post. Sometimes, they won't understand what is message behind the post.

    Quote
Other times it's not obvious if someone is just posting because they're hoping to earn merits--and frankly I don't necessarily see that as wrong in and of itself.  You can write a post that's witty or one that's clear there was some work and thought put into it, and as long as it's interesting, who cares what the motivation was behind it?  I only care when it's blatant merit fishing, and I've noticed that those cases tend to be when a lower-ranked member creates a new thread and not when they're posting within one that already exists.
Indeed, it is better than spamming because writer actually work and spend some effort. However, it is still bad in terms of writing. They must improve how they write in order to express their opinion better. I repeatedly told newbies that writing is the art that is hard to achieve Writing Proficiency.

Honestly, when I was young, I hated and can not absorb advises from my tutors about my writing. Sometimes I thought they are too rude or any thing similar. Then, with experience I understand they are right and their advise helps me a lot.
1887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Difference between Coin and Token on: July 20, 2022, 06:38:35 AM
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think DAG is categorized as a blockchain, in fact I've seen them introduce it as the alternative to blockchain since it is more like a "graph" than a "chain".
    DAG ~ Directed Acyclic Graph

Obyte is a project from which I learned about DAG for my first time. Know it from the forum.

They have main chain within DAG but perhaps you are right, we can not call DAG is a blockchain.
    Quote
    Consensus

There is no PoW, no PoS, and no mining.  Instead, we have the DAG, which already establishes partial order between transactions, plus we add the main chain within the DAG
1888  Other / Meta / Re: Museum of Bitcoin, Bitcointalk avatars [Community-led] on: July 20, 2022, 05:17:01 AM
I observed that the year of all the signature are outdated it says "10 years" and it is still "2019" it's already 2022 and should be 13 years already instead?
Anyway I decided to update it. Or it's not necessary?
Thanks for the heads up but you were 1 minute slower than me.  Tongue
1889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Difference between Coin and Token on: July 20, 2022, 03:52:09 AM
Please I would like to know the real difference between a coin and a token as it has to do with blockchain technology.
    Main difference between them are
    • A coin has its own blockchain. Whatever its blockchain is, whatever its algorithm is: either Proof of Work, Proof of Stake, DAG, etc. It has an own blokchain.
    • A token does not has its own blockchain. It is built on another blockchain and if that blockchain die, stop working, that token stop working too.
    • In other words, tokens are like parasites on other blockchains

    Definition of tokens

1892  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin bottom there yet? Fear & Greed, Pi Cycle Top / Bottom on: July 19, 2022, 05:14:29 PM
I remember that one of the members had given the green light because the pi indicator points to the bottom, but I think that we will face a false rise in the coming days (below 25k) and then we will witness the real bottom, which may be near 15k dollars.
As I noted, I believe that we are in bottom range and Bitcoin is going in an accumulation phase. However, it might have a crash with price from $13k to $15k is very possible as a very last wash out before bottom is out and bull market will be triggered. I don't know when a last crash will happen.

Another thing, when a crash happens, we will get a massive terrible news but remember, that crash is not because of the news. News is not a causal reason of the crash, never. News is released around the crash and that's it. It is used as a trigger for a crash, not a reason of a crash, never.

I've seen in the past years that no matter what indicators you're looking for, there's a very good chance that the reality will be based on one you've missed  Smiley
Market usually moves oppositely to what the crowd think it will move.

    Quote
Since then I no longer try to find the bottom. It's too risky.
It is what speculators and gamblers do. Investors don't have to find absolute bottoms and it isn't objective of this topic. They only find bottom range that is enough for them to invest, DCA.

By the way, let's see Realized Price

Bitcoin is jumping in another period with its current trading price on market is under its realized price. In the past, it occurs after one bull run and will last for months before bear market ends. With more mature of Bitcoin, Market price in latest 2 bear markets are not too lower than Realized price. It means something.

1893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [EXCHANGE] FAMEEX Exchange on: July 19, 2022, 02:25:49 PM
Could I ask a bit about history of Fameex exchange?

On coinmarketcap, volume data is untracked
On coingecko, the exchange is not there

How old is your exchange? Is it born in 2018 or 2020?
1894  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: A Little way to find Good campaigns on: July 19, 2022, 01:12:12 PM
Nobody mentioned Signature Campaign Guidelines (read this before starting or joining a campaign).
    • It is useful before and during a time you join a campaign
    • What you should do before and during time?
      • Before: you must to have good contributions that help you to rank up and has good history of quality posts. It helps you to be accepted in good campaigns if you meet accepted ranks in that campaign. So contributions, rank up, and get acceptance to join
      • During a campaign participation: make sure you contribute to that company hires and pay you. Additionally, let's try to maintain your post quality and help the forum clean. Don't turn from a good poster to a spam poster.
1895  Other / Meta / Re: The future of Bitcointalk: Low Ranking Top Merit earners in the past 30 days on: July 19, 2022, 08:00:17 AM
I kinda like how an account created in 2011 gets highlighted, because it's well deserved based on their contribution. The word "preev" is mentioned 8582 times.
I know and have same opinion. I wrote that real assets of forum will keep receiving merit even years after their death or departure from the forum, just like satoshi, Hal and others.

Even you guys stop posting, you will continue to receive merit from your past good posts.
1896  Other / Meta / Re: Museum of Bitcoin, Bitcointalk avatars [Community-led] on: July 19, 2022, 07:54:59 AM
I'm currently wearing the signature made by BitcoinDream, but the "Peer to peer electronic cash system" can't be read because of white text color and there orange glow isnt working properly the same on the "Wallet".
That signature set is for Hero/ Legendary member rank.

You can not use it with full effects because of your rank limitation.

Perhaps the allowed signature styling should change with activity score / membergroup. Like:
    - Newbie: No styling (including links) allowed. Max 40 characters.
    - Jr. Member: Links allowed. Max 100 characters.
    - Member: Unlimited length.
    - Full: Color allowed.
    - Sr. Member: Size allowed
    - Hero: Background color allowed

Then newbies will be less effective advertisers, which would hopefully significantly reduce the incentive for low-content posts. And when people become capable of effectively advertising through their signatures, they'll have invested a lot of time into their accounts, and they won't risk being banned by spamming.
1897  Other / Meta / Re: The future of Bitcointalk: Low Ranking Top Merit earners in the past 30 days on: July 19, 2022, 07:39:08 AM
        4. Member fennec (Trust: +0 / =0 / -0) earned 65 Merit in 30 days (BPIP)
    Hi LoyceV.

Today I take the list and try to find future of Bitcointalk. I see the above @fennec that is a member from 2011, last active in 2015. I believe the user and that service were noticed after recent domain expiration of preev.com.

Even I see the post was merited and the service (preev.com) are great, I think that case does not match with your topic title.

Could you consider to adjust the topic title or adjust your criteria to pick future of Bitcointalk in you list, please.
1898  Other / Meta / Re: User account email and password Reset. on: July 19, 2022, 07:25:42 AM
Create a strong password, stake your bitcoin address, and have an improved OpSec.
I am dumb and did not know what is OpSec.  Embarrassed
OpSec ~ Operational Security, according to Google

I learn a new tech term today.  Tongue
1899  Other / Meta / Re: User account email and password Reset. on: July 19, 2022, 06:54:33 AM
I am suggesting if we can update the forum set up in a way that users can change the email link to their account.
If you (or hacker) can log in your account, you can change the email address connects to your account. It leads to another trick. If you want to terminate your account, you can change initial register email to a random (non-existing) one, change the account password to a random and log out.

    Quote
I created this topic because I have come to realised that account sold out are still stollen back by the seller for the reason being that they have access to the email even though the account buyer change the password to the account still they can still have access but if we can change email connecting our account after is created, it can minimize scam or stollen account related cases. This change should only be made accessible for the account owner together with strong password.
It can be done by a step above but why do you have to do this if you set up good passwords for your email, your forum account and 2FA for your email too.

For people who are careless with it, I am sure they will not care about changing their email only because to avoid hack. In addition, register email is one of way to recover your account so I don't think it is wise to change it to a non-existing email.

There is (un)official recovery method, by a signed message but email is important too.

It's good to take care of account security because it is good for you as well as reduce recovery burden on forum moderators.

By the way, I think it's better for you to learn about Bitcoin than try to learn about forum rules, trust flags, merit because Bitcoin should be a main reason you join here.
