1642  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 09, 2022, 06:29:48 AM
Man City players are on fire, they are in their best forms nowadays. It is not surprising if we see they won with big scores again, and it becomes something usual to know Haaland scores again.  Grin Man City is simply unstoppable in EPL, they seem to have no strong opponents. If Man City continues their current good performance, no doubt they will win EPL title this season. Anyway, Haaland only scored 1 goal in the latest match, I think it is not a big deal if they couldn't make a hattrick again.
Manchester City must give Haaland time to relax. Personal record for him is not a biggest objective of the club. Like yesterday match, if he can not score in the first half, Pep should substitute him by another player after City already scored 2 goals. Maybe Pep wanted to help Haaland to beat the record of scoring goals in 8 consecutive matches of Kun Aguero. So if Haaland achieves it in the next match day, Pep should do something, give his best striker some minutes to refresh his body. He and the club need Haaland for bigger objectives.

I agree with you that Darwin Nunez was paid too much. Liverpool fell short of expectations. After Mane's departure, Nunez has not been able to fill this void with certainty. Salah and Mane were a great match, I see a decrease in Salah's performance when Mane is gone. Manchester City are coming in undefeated. I'm sure Haaland will be top scorer this year, but I'm not sure how many goals he will score. I think he will easily pass 30 goals. I really wonder what the upper limit will be.
Nunez and Mane have different styles and he can not replace Mane in a same system with same tactic. I don't know but maybe Klopp wanted to adjust tactic and system for Liverpool with Nunez. I guessed he knew about the fact that opponents will always figure out way to beat a long time used tactic. It happened many times even with tiki-taka, with Barcelona and Spain.

About price of Nunez, I agree that it is simply too expensive. He only had a good season and received that offer from Liverpool. Maybe the departure of Mane forced Klopp and Liverpool to buy him.
1643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC max supply is 21million and hardcore it. Price can be ? on: October 09, 2022, 06:07:42 AM
With time, we will have one way ending, not any in between the following twos:
  • Bitcoin trading volume will be very huge next decades and continue its growth until 21M Bitcoin is mined totally; then price would be very high consequently
  • Bitcoin trading volume will fall to zero and price will be almost no value at all.

Make sure you read following resources before you pick one from the two above

From real data, so far I can see both trading volume and price increase a lot after each halving cycle, each four years.

1646  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How hard to detect scams nowadays? on: October 09, 2022, 03:42:23 AM
1. Don't invest in a brand-new project.
It is a good prevention but most of people want to hunt hidden gems then they fall into new scam projects.

Quote
2. If you invest assume you are gambling with your funds.
I don't agree. Investment means do your own research before making decisions to spend money or skip it. It is not like gambling but I guess your point is "Don't invest if you can not afford to lose". If you implied about people who invest without any research and consideration, they are gamblers and what they do is gambling, not investing.

Quote
3. See if the project has live utilities which are fully functional.
It is the point. Utilities and use cases create values for project, then its native token.

Quote
4. Don't believe the KYC report, because there are a lot of people who sell KYC.
KYC is better than anonymous but KYC itself does not decide that project is non-scam.

Quote
5. Check the project's Partnership and verify if it's real and potential.
Sometimes, it is a good indicator but even so, projects can turn to scam very quickly. Terra is a classic example and just happened a several months ago. Lots of other entities involved and lost in Terra.
1647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Happens to Our Bitcoin and Other Assets If We Die? on: October 08, 2022, 11:17:21 AM
You should manage something right now since you are thinking about what happens after you die. Have to teach your family members or have to trust someone else who knows everything about how to recover.
Exactly a must thing to do.

A true story from my experience. Years ago, in early of 2018, my friend asked me what happens if someone dies and his coin on cryptocurrency exchanges. I introduced him about crypto and he asked this question after reading news about a sudden death of a CEO of an exchange (I think you knew that case too). I told him that he should write down his email, email password, exchange account information (password, 2FA) and any related thing to his accounts.

I also told him that even his wife can get access to his phone, email but if suddenly exchanges ask for KYC before approving withdrawal request, it will become terrible case.

Unfortunately, he died in a motorbike accident a few weeks later. His wife fortunately has a notebook in which he wrote down all things but does not know what to do with it. She came to me, asked for help and all went well.

From this story, if anyone does not make backup of such things, a sudden death will be a termination of all cryptocurrency assets on exchanges or in custodial wallets too.

Quote
I managed a notebook to manage all my credentials related to cryptocurrency. So in case of death, someone should be able to handle the funds. I wrote a couple of a number of my dearest friends who are able to recover. And I am teaching my family members as well. But the notebook is under my control of me. I don't trust anyone right now.
You did a good plan B.
1648  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cloudbet | Bitcoin Casino & Sportsbook | The No.1 Bitcoin Gambling Site on: October 08, 2022, 10:57:54 AM
Then I requested again 40.000 USDT. It rejected by them agian When I reached out to live support They told me there is an investigation on my account. And they told me I have to wait to finish it.

But they cannot me provide a time period, or exact time. Only thing they aer saying is I have to wait.
If they told you there is investigation on your account and you should wait, why you are hurry too much?

Just wait for result and their answer about investigation. Honestly, mostly when a casino starts investigation, they already have data in hands and you are in troubles. However it is still too soon to conclude anything and I think you should wait patiently for their answer.

Quote
On my account there is nothing wrong. I played live games. I played over goal bets on soccer and tennis break game mostly.

There is not also late bet. Also it is impossible to do on my account because 20-30 secs pass to accept my bets on Cloudbet.
It is only what you wrote and needs to be confirmed by Cloudbet.

Quote
I sent a email to support@cloudbet.com. But they did not answer.
They told you to wait.

Quote
Balance is 57.000 USDT. I cannot withdraw that money right now,
If investigation concludes that you broke their ToS, you will not be able to withdraw it.
1649  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Too risky to leave BTC right now on: October 08, 2022, 08:09:35 AM
It's way too risky to be out of bitcoin right now because people are calling for 10,000$ per Bitcoin before they will start buying
Missing a train and a chance to earn profit is not risky. It is different than when you take risk and get loss later. The first situation (what you're discussing) is only missing a chance, and you won't lose your initial capital so no risk with that situation.

Quote
it sounds like when people are calling for 100,000$ per BTC months ago and the opposite happened, now people are calling for 10k again, the opposite might happen again, the best way to deal with this is start buying BTC every week, maybe on Mondays? This way you will feel better.....remember, when people are calling for the exact same thing the opposite always happens.
It is better to apply DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging) Bitcoin and consider it as a long term investment. When you DCA, you have to prepare your regular capital for your DCA and fortunately you don't have to get headache when considering what price is good or perfect to buy Bitcoin.
1650  Other / Meta / Re: Does Forum Advertising Considered as a Formal Work? on: October 08, 2022, 07:59:51 AM
And I was curious on somethings going around here like on the Marketplace>Services.
That board is relevant for both company and personal service announcements. If you have solid services to provide, you can make your Service announcement thread there.

For companies, their representative usually creates an account on the forum with username that is matched with their company. In addition, they don't have enough time to wait and build up their account up to Junior member rank in order to display images in their posts. Therefore, they will buy Copper Membership to get some privileges exclusively displaying images.

Remember to do this
Once you have it, you get the choice:

Quote
Would it be considered as formal work even though I think it's more like freelancing? I mean, in formality can you include that on your Resume or CV?
If it is a company, you must have good website, good products etc.
If it is your personal service, it is better if you have good reputation here.

1652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is an economic recession bearish for the market? on: October 08, 2022, 03:50:13 AM
I always assumed that an economic downturn with high inflation would lead to lower confidence in fiat currencies, causing people to run to more reliable stores of value. Traditionally these are precious metals, but crypto currencies could also serve this purpose. This flow of fiat money into crypto, would cause a bullrun with higher crypto prices. That was my idea of it.
You should know that confidence itself is not enough. Nobody can live with confidence but without money. So in recession, people have to care more about their finance, their pocket, their daily expenses and bills. Hence they will be more hesitating with investment, not only investment into cryptocurrency.

Fortunately, if you don't have issue with your finance, it's very great time for you to DCA your favorite cryptocurrency and wait for a next bull run.

Quote
But why do legendary investors like Michael Burry predict that we are not at the end of the bear market yet, because of a looming economic recession/depression?
Firstly, you should not trust all statements from celebrities, influencers without question "Why?". You must ask yourself whether their statement based on any solid analytics or just is spoken arbitrarily and emotionally.

Second, I partially agree that the world economic is in a really bad phase that needs years to recover. It won't recover after one or two years.

1655  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do not use your phone number for crypto registration and other crypto related th on: October 06, 2022, 03:04:44 PM
There are few exchanges that allow users to create account using their mobile phone numbers, compare to using email account I think phone numbers has more risk than email account
Both phone number and email have risk.

Some email providers require phone number when you register your email. With phone number, there is Sim Port Attack

With email, you must turn on 2FA that has two options (SMS code and 2FA application). You should not choose SMS code because sometimes you will have issue to receive SMS code. Reasons can be from telecommunication company or newly applied restrictions in your country.

With 2FA application, you are free from government and it is how we survive in crypto.

When you use 2FA, make sure you backup its code for recovery if your initial device is technically broken.
1656  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2024 Bitcoin Halving - What are Your Expectations!!! on: October 06, 2022, 02:42:12 PM
I suppose I always tend to think that mining, in scale, which was the type I was thinking of, always has huge margins that past years have really built up a cushion. 500+ days to next halving, and looking at the 1.5 years generally needed after for the next ATH, it is going to be survival of the fittest to another level.
We don't know when a new all time high will be touched and we don't know where is a new all time high.

From my experience, I know that we will have a new all time high as one of consequences of each halving. It's truly that we will have so many times and chances to take profit at higher price than the past all time high. Even if you miss a new all time high, don't sell at or around a new all time high, you will still be able to sell a lower price. Lower price under a new all time high should be higher than past all time high.

Just like you missed $69,000, you would have had many prices to sell from $50,000 to $40,000 and $30,000 or even just higher than $20,000.
1657  Other / Meta / Re: We can easily implement Dark Mode on bitcointalk right now! on: October 06, 2022, 02:32:33 PM
I have never used stylish but upon checking on its reviews, most seem to be negative, I am now even sceptical about. Apparently, it has a dark past, though most negative reviews seem to be shilling its competitor stylus  Huh
People keep using script and stylish but I don't use such things. Because if I don't have skills to test them, I don't feel safely to use them.

I might be too skeptical but having a dark mode does not change my life. If I can have it officially from a website, I will use it. If I have to install something else to have a dark mode, I skip it.

The more times you try with unknown things, the more risks you are readily to take.
1658  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bear Market More Important Than the Bull Market? on: October 05, 2022, 09:16:03 AM
They are both important in the market (just for me).
Yes, they are both important and you can not have one and don't have another. They co-exist and support each other in a same market.

Quote
If you just think that both of them give us the opportunity...
 - Bear market - accumulation period
 - Bull market - selling period
To talk about opportunity, we should start with two types of participant in the market: winners and losers.

Most of participants (90%) are losers who are ready to buy in bull market and exit in bear market, with huge loss.

The rest of participants (~ 10%) are the minority who are winners. They consider bear market as opportunity to accumulate (as you mentioned) and bull market as another opportunity to take profit.

An opportunity with winners is catastrophe with losers but the market needs to have both.
1659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: which btc address generated do yall use ? on: October 05, 2022, 08:55:14 AM
Hi guys wondering what the best (safest) address generator is for btc addresses ?
The best depends on so many factors by each person and how they do this.

You can get list of wallets and security recommendations from following resources

You should download wallet from an official site (not phishing site); verify what you download; creating your wallet offline; making your wallet backup; trying to recover it from backup (this step to make sure that you did not make any typo with backup).

Also don't forget to use a strong password for your wallet file because it is a preventive barrier that prevent bad guys to access your wallet private key
1660  Other / Meta / Re: We can easily implement Dark Mode on bitcointalk right now! on: October 05, 2022, 08:37:54 AM
They aren't as good as mine. Don't you think so? Cheesy
I did neither point them out because they are better than yours nor try to assess which ones are better or the best. The list is for reference and to give people more options to choose from.

Previously I forgot to merit you but now you are Full. Congrats!  Cheesy

I see something is notably missing from the list: the BPIP extension.
* the BPIP extension has in-built 2 dark themes
* you can add your CSS as custom theme if you want to
Great contribution as I did not know about that. You did forgot to leave a link to that.

After searching, I knew about that thread, [β] BPIP Extension: user info & extra features add-on/extension, Firefox/Chrome but did not know that their team launched dark themes since version 2.1.x

Previous version (2.1.x)

  • Alternative styling/themes for Bitcointalk, e.g. dark theme. (off)
