Why would the system prevent banned users from accessing the merits system while allowing them to access the trust settings? If banned users can provide or remove feedback, we're in big trouble. The system will be tampered with, just as naim027 did with Timelord2026.

I've seen a few posts from more experienced members either using or suggesting the use of the "ignore" button.
When merit system was kicked off, people created a lot of topics, complained a lot and begged for merit with low quality posts a lot. The user I knew who used Ignore button (at least the user publicly wrote it) is Jet Cash.  Sorry - I've put them on ignore so that I can't give them any merit by accident.  So, what I would really like is if next to "ignore" there was a less drastic option that only added them to my ignore list temporarily (say for 10 days), something like this:
I don't think it is necessary. - 10 days or 30 days are not long enough to change a user. It should be months.
- Forum unofficially has it. It does not completely exclude the ignored member from your view. You still can see the username and if you want, you can click on unignore anytime.

I don't know about naim027 too clear but months ago I saw naim027's thread in Lending child board. As I know, since then, the user started to rank up well enough from Full Member or Senior Member (maybe from Full Member) to the Hero Member rank. From the disclosure in OP and the user's changes after receiving advice from some experienced members, stop plagiarism, adding sources, I think it is a very open-minded guy. It's good enough. The bad mistake is not delete all past posts or not checking all of them and adding sources. Additionally but more important, what are all plagiarized posts (~ 70 as I saw in OP) were made for what intention? To share news, to hit post quota, to get money from bounties or campaigns. If during that period, no financial-earning intention behind, I think it is somewhat acceptable. Of course, rule was broken but if no financial incentive behind, it's somewhat acceptable. Lastly, if we count for how recent plagiarism reports were handled very softly, naim027 should be unbanned or at least a second chance. I know Mr.Right85 even made many plagiarism to earn in Livecasino.io's campaign. Got acceptance from manager and started to plagiarize after that. No ban in any sort, so why naim027 were banned like this? Weird and unfair! A fair treatment is no ban in any sort for naim027 if the case of Mr.Right85 is a new standard to handle plagiarism case. Obviously, we must consider why naim027 made such plagiarism and compare it to why and when Mr.Right85 made his plagiarism plus their net contribution (how they rank up). If it is the same intention (why) and with same period of experience in the forum (when) plus not significant difference in their net contribution (I believe so), two users must have same ending, either permanently ban or no ban at all or a second chance. - naim027 received less merit from his topics but Mr.Right85 received most of merits in those topics from his national friends. I am not sure how they received merit from their posts, but from topic lists, not big difference in their contribution and how forum members recognize their topics
- If you want to compare their net contributions, you must check their post history, merited posts and exclude national fans. All of these checking, I don't do here

It is because OP of that topic turned to be inactive and in recent years, the plagiarism reporting bot stops working. Somone's been very busy reporting copy and pasters.

Sirius took over from Satoshi Nakamoto. From the above analogy, I came to the conclusion that the site (bitcoin) was created by a group of people.
I can not understand your analogy. satoshi created this forum and can give admin role to other members who get trusted by satoshi. About Bitcoin history, it was discussed in a group namely Cypherpunks but we can not conclude Bitcoin was created by a single person, a group of people, government or any entity. So when the activity and merit were not used in the Forum, what was used to rank up users as of then?

I try myself to keep it up-to-date, but sometimes I know about update but I am not available at that moment. Later, I forgot to update OP. I do bump it regularly, but not too often. Perhaps, periodic bump should be 3 months, 6 months as I don't want to flood Meta board with my bump. In the past, people complained about it and I think it makes sense. |

I only know about one case of signature ban and that's lovesmayfamilis (who I remember was quite active on forum despite the signature ban) but I think I saw at least one more but can't remember the name now. I think that measure is seriously underused here, while it should be the obvious choice for the first time offenders.

No platforms have Terms of Service that allow buying and selling accounts. Not only Binance!
OP, It's not hard to have a legit account for yourself, if you don't have shady intention behind. Especially on Peer to Peer trading platforms, buying accounts is activity from scammers. |

I personally wouldn't like to see new ranks introduced as I am perfectly content with my current rank and don't need this feeling of having to farm something endlessly in order to have fun on the forum. Imho, people take this forum way too seriously and new higher ranks would only make things worse in that regard.
Two of biggest requests on forum recent years About a new rank (above Legendary), will it cause side effects? It depends - Especially if it is simply a rank, without additional income from that rank, it won't bring anything bad.

IIRC signature ban is somehow common when admin/moderator decide to remove permanent ban, although i no longer remember which member who got such treatment.
Previous only head admins can: theymos and Cyrus but since 2019, global moderators can do it too. Flow is admins collect proof and make reports to global moderators/ admins who will make further investigation, then make decisions to keep the permanent ban or release it with a softer one. Posts are reported to moderators who check out the report. If the poster needs to be banned, the moderator sends a ban report up to a global mod or admin. The global mod or admin handles all of the ban reports they get at around the same time. Either the admins or global mods don't need to check every account because they trust the moderators to have already done so, or they check quickly because every such report contains references and links to the plagiarism post and to the source text so checking takes little time.
Global mods were given the ability to ban signatures only yesterday. Do you think we can get through all the appeals in one day? Be patient.

Very true, since the $69K fake-out I had considered $65K in April to be the "real top" as opposed to November. Aside from volume, other metrics also suggested it wasn't a cycle top, such as Weekly RSI that showed Bitcoin's price was bullish but far from overbought, in comparison to the multiple months where Bitcoin's RSI was overbought from around October 2020 to April 2021 (for 6 months approximately). At least from previous cycle tops, they have always occurred after price has been overbought for weeks or months on high volume, as opposed to very low bullish momentum. Exactly. Monthly Relative Strength IndexRSI makes its peak in March and slightly fall in April when Bitcoin is around $65k. In November, even price rises to $69k, RSI is still very low and it can not make a double top (in RSI chart). So price can not increase more toward $100k or higher. |

Life is not clearly white and black. In this forum, we have good members, knowledgeable and experienced. We have detectives and DT members and also new future asset of the forum too. They contribute lot of things in the forum and scam busting is one of such. But not all accusations are correct. Let me dig into the past that with Livecoin campaign in 2018 or 2019, in forum, there were two sides: one support it is non scam, one consider it as a true scam. Now, after a few years, they actually exit but back in the days, years ago, the story is not clear like nowadays. I used to confuse with it, but I believe Livecoin is non scam, and after a long and careful consideration, asking for opinion of some members (that are more experienced than me) they even could not say solid conclusion about Livecoin, I joined their campaign but it is because I believed Livecoin is not scam back in that day. I did not attack Livecoin, called it as scam and then joined it later as a two-faced guy. Now, for now, I believe Royse777 is non scam but it can be changed in future. We can not say about future at the moment.

In cryptocurrency faces or might face is mistaking another alphabet or number for another or capital alphabet use in the place of a small alphabet in which each letter carries his own identification and using capital letter where to use Small letter might cause your transaction fail or you will not receive your fund.
And also the alphanumeric must be complete and no one should missed ,so it might not cause failure in your transaction.
Make sure you make a trial (should be very small like a dust transaction) to test that the address you sent your Bitcoin to is valid. So that is why is advised to copy and paste the wallet address and send to the sender of the coin and not typed.

I did not make that call. I hope you read what I wrote correctly.  My call is bottom is somewhere around already for long term investors. Again, real investors, not speculators or gamblers who have no knowledge about Bitcoin, zero belief in Bitcoin, they are shit pseudo-Bitcoin investors. Additionally, I emphasized clearly that if we skip all sorts of indicators, simply look at the price chart, it is very possibly to see Bitcoin drops back to $13k to $15k. It can drop there, stay there for months but it can be only a very flash crash, then V-shape recovery which triggers a new bull run. I clearly mentioned that capitulation is different than panic sell or selling to cover temporary bills. We are still deep in shit, the next months will determine a lot, however, there are no clear indications that the world economy has rebounced
Yeah, when all shit is reflected in panic sell already and when panic is gone, sun will shine. We are in a black swan time, periodically after around 10 years. The world doesn't end after each ten years. |
